My guess is a hard drive access issue, but only because I came across the following reference on the Internet.<br/> <a href="http://basic.phatcode.net/pulpo/zpzfge.htm">"Logical Assertion Has Failed" Error Message When You Install Windows (292763) </a><br/><br/>That's a large disk (WD Caviar Blue 500GB). I didn't think Windows ME would handle 500 GB. I thought there were capacity limits due to BIOS and operating system constraints.<br/> a. Did you partition the disk or just setup one "big" partition?<br/> b. How big is the operating system partition?<br/> c. What did you <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/use-241643" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about USE">USE</a> to setup the disk (hard drive vendor utility, fdisk, something else)?<br/> d. You should "backup" any data you cannot afford to lose.<br/><br/>3. <strong>Hard Drive Diagnostics</strong>.
