Solve : No Sound in Windows 98?

Answer»

I think I ran a program called ErrorGuard, and after I fixed my errors and restarted my computer, my language moniter and volume CONTROL thing disappeared from my system TRAY. Then I realized I had no sound at all. I went to control panel and then multimedia but the when I was in the audio tab, everything was grayed out. I can't do anything with my audio. I did a backup of my registry right before the ErrorGuard scan, but I want to know if I can fix this before I erase some of the stuff the windows updates installed. It sounds like your sound card DRIVERS were deleted... Go to your sound card manufacturer's webiste and download the latest drivers, and install them to get your sound back...

[glb]Flame[/glb]How do I find out what my sound card manufacturer is? I looked in the device manager and I found something under audio that sounded like a audio card, but it shows me all the drivers for it.Nevermind, the thing I found in the device manager was my sound card, and I reinstalled the driver. The sounds works great.
