Solve : Advance help with DVD driver needed? |
|
Answer» I haven't yet GOTTEN the DVD drive I ordered, but have everything else. There's one question LEFT. Does anybody know if there'd be a way to get it to read a 1998 game DVD under Windows 95? I was hoping somebody might have an answer. I did a search, but could not find what I need. A proprietary driver might be the better choice... If you are talking about a DOS boot disk, then any GENERIC CDROM "driver" will do. If you are running the game from inside Windows 95, then you don't need any driver. That possibly could be true. I'll likely save the drivers in case I do need them, and try to get Riven to run without them first. Riven isn't for DOS, and won't run without Windows active. From what you're telling me, it should detect a CD without a driver. Will the drive detect a DVD without a driver? That is the normal behaviour in Win95. http://www.hiren.info/download/dos-files/oakcdrom.sysAlso look at this: http://www.amazon.com/Creative-PC-DVD-DVD-ROM-Decoder-ENCORE12X/dp/B00004Z8X5 |
