Solve : Ms Win 95 playing horror?

My PC is a Pentium 1 it runs on Win 95 .It cannot complete its startup and only runs in safe MODE. It does not detect CD-ROM (which it used to play quite well). It can only go as far as Staring Windows 95 and go nowhere else.
What shall I do? :-? First of all, it's time to get a new COMPUTER... have you RUN Scandisk lately? Have you changed any settings in the BIOS?

How could it get into safe mode if it doesn't get past Starting Windows 95...? Do you have any ANTIVIRUS? If you do, TRY scanning for viruses. That's about all I can suggest.
