Answer» I have an old HP (266Mhz, 288M RAM) that I reformatted the HD and reinstalled Win95 on.  It won't recognize the CD drive.
I downloaded a Win95 boot disk that WILL make it recognize the CD - used that to run win95 setup again.
After running setup again, then rebooting from HD, I get a lenghty error message that says multi-function device (Std Dual PCI IDE Controller) has some child devices using 32-bit DRIVERS and OTHERS using COMPATIBILITY mode drivers.
It's an NEC CDR-273 CD, and I have CDR273.exe as the driver, but havent put it on C:\windows or TRIED to use that file in autoexec.bat or config.sys....
Seems like this should be an easy one, but I've been chasing it 3 days now.  I can get to the CD (but not Windows) from a Win95 disk, but not from Win95 on the HD...
  Help?? Thanks in advance!!
