Solve : win 98 invalid disk? |

Answer» got the "invalid disk please replace disk" black screen message (also verifying dmi pool DATA) Put in bootup disk typed sys c: got it to system transferred. rebooted I GET c:\> and still get verifying dmi pool. What do I type next to c:\> ? Any SOLUTION to this old computer? Put in your bootup disk and get to the prompt, choosing CD-ROM SUPPORT. Then put in your Windows disk. Type d: (or whatever your cd-drive letter is. sometimes it gets changed in DOS, just try them). Dang thing is busted unless I buy a new cdrom which I hear I can get from pricewatch for like 10 bucks. Joe Quote did it bud. Well Sure....Try other letters. The bootup disk creates a virtual drive with tools on it which can shift your other drive letters around a bit. |
