Answer» I have Pentium II processor 233 mhz, Dell mother board, 40 GB HDD, 64 MB RAM.
I am trying to install win98. Installation goes smooth from CD and after booting from the hard DRIVE after copying all the files, the installation says updating the hardware, the installation does not continue.
I tried to install Win Me OEM Version but the result is same. I changed RAM, HDD but the problem PERSIST.
Please HELP.How's it look inside the COMPUTER? Is there dust...Are fans spinning?Yes everything is working fine. Fan is spinning and I cleared all the dusts from inside. I even took out all the parts and tried it without the cabinet. but same problem persists..
please help...find a flash light and take a close look at the motherboard... Check to see if there are BAD capacitors like shown here:
