Hi,

I am unable to open the file "Internet options" in start/settings/control panel. The icon when clicked does not open the file. It was ok till a couple of days ago. Is there any other way of opening the file (it may be corrupted) ? Pl ADVISE ACTION needed.

Try booting into safe mode and opening it?

You can CHOOSE to restart in MS-DOS mode and use the scanreg /restore command at the command prompt.
Then choose a date when it worked LAST and see if that helps.You can open it from within IE under the tools menu.Hi,

Have you installed any anti-malware programs to lock the IE control panel?
What happens if you try it in safe mode?Hi,

I am not logged in as an admin

I have not installed any mal-ware program to lock the control panel.
Only Norton antivirus program is installed from the beginning

When i started in safe mode, I tried clicking the icon of "Internet Options" in start/settings/control Panel . The file did not open.

Log off and log in as admin.
