Solve : VLC and Win98SE?

Answer» <html><body><p>Hello there,<br/> I'm trying to use <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/vlc-2320637" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about VLC">VLC</a> with my Win98SE; the result is: VLC has sound but no picture!<br/> Could anybody give me some ideas as to why? Or better still, give me a solution?Try downloading K-Lite Codecs pack:<br/><a href="http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm">http://www.free-codecs.com/K_Lite_Codec_Pack_download.htm</a><br/>(The Full version) <br/>and installing it. It should correct this issue, which sounds like its a codecs issue. Hi,<br/> Thanks. Unfortunately, this version is not meant for my system; anyway, I downloaded and installed the older version that still works for Win98. However, it does not help solving my problem at all.<a href="https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html">Try This</a><br/><br/>VLC does not support Win98...it says this may work however.Quote from: <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/asking-2445373" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about ASKING">ASKING</a> on December 27, 2007, 07:03:39 PM</p><blockquote>Hi,<br/> Thanks. It only uses its own internal codecs. That's why VLC is great for troubleshooting media player <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/issues-520128" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about ISSUES">ISSUES</a>. If it works in VLC but not in [insert name here] it's most <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/likely-537197" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about LIKELY">LIKELY</a> a codec issue.<br/>EDIT: I now see that Directshow support actually have been added to VLC so on Windows it can use external codecs. I'm just going to shut up now. <a href="https://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html">http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-windows.html</a><br/><br/>Quote<blockquote><strong>Windows 95/98/Me users</strong>: Please note that these versions of Windows are not officially supported. VLC should mostly work with them, but some incompatibilities might appear. You might need to download The Microsoft Layer for Unicode on Windows 95/98/Me Systems.
