Solve : Windows 3.1 and 98? |
| Answer» <html><body><p>I have successfully gotten Windows 3.1 to run with Windows 98 installed. I just have to restart in DOS mode. I had the Windows 3.1 disks and one day got brave enough to try to install it. I did, and it worked.Windows 3.11 was a little bit more stable then Windows 3.1<br/><br/>Windows for Workgroups 3.11 won't <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/work-20377" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about WORK">WORK</a> with Windows 98 (because it only runs in 386-enhanced mode) but Windows 3.11 will. There is little visible difference between Windows 3.1 and 3.11, in fact even the splash screen still says Windows 3.1Much obliged. I am looking into <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/ordering-1138380" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about ORDERING">ORDERING</a> Windows 3.11 on 9 diskettes. See if I can get it to work as well.Keep in mind that you can only install it with Windows 95 or 98. <a href="https://interviewquestions.tuteehub.com/tag/anything-380254" style="font-weight:bold;" target="_blank" title="Click to know more about ANYTHING">ANYTHING</a> newer than that doesn't support real mode DOS, Because Windows 3.x is more of a DOS shell than an OS.
