Solve : Wireless network need help?

Answer» <html><body><p>Ok so This summer I pulled out my dads old laptop and I realized there is a wireless network adapter. Which is called infrared or something like that and it scannes for connections every 3 seconds but can't find my network or my nieghboors. Infrared is not a wireless network card. Infrared can be used to communicate with some devices, but unfortunately it is not a wireless network card.
