Solve : Outlook going a bit mental?

Answer»

hi all,

My outlook has gone a bit crazy. I use it (badly) a lot & its absolutely chock full with important messages & other bits i really have to keep. But its doing weird things, like not letting me reply to mails & stuff now. Do i need to allocate more hard disk space for it? My disk is not full by any stretch but outlook seems to be, its always archiving off messages. A friend tried to sort it out over the phone, but its worse, as now i have several inbox's instead, which is causing me real headaches.

is it possible to get all my data off, re-start outlook & put all my data back on again, like fresh? without multiple inboxes?

any help muchly appreciated, thankyou.

Paul

ok, i've been doing some poking around myself & it seems the problem is stemming from the fact that i have a 'personal files' FOLDER in the folder list in outlook, but it doesnt seem to be attatched to a data file.

ive looked in tools->mail options -> data files & its not listed.
ive also right CLICKED on the folder itself & looked at its properties & i get an ERROR returned 'data OBJECT could not be found'.

this is where my problems are i think. how can i delete this rougue folder? i cant delete the data object because it doesnt exist according to outlook. & i cant delete it from the folder view inside outlook either. i'm stumped :-?

thanks,

PaulDepending on the version there is a outlook repair tool Scanpst.exe DOWNLOAD it from :-
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010549311033.aspx

the other thing it could be is that the amount of email is over the limit that oulook can handle, and your temp folder could probably be cleaned out as well.
there are in internet explorer/ tools/ delete files delete cookies, and clears history.which should cut it all back safely.

Will your pc support Win XP ? ........ what processor do you have and how much RAM is installed ......... how much memory does the GRAPHICS card have ?

Solve : Returns/Tabs/Formatting In  MS Word?

Answer»

I'm sure this has a stupidly simple answer but my experience with MS is that the simplier something SHOULD be, the more difficult it actually is and this is no exception.....

For some reason (totally randomly - clicked nothing!) MS Word (2000) has started to show all the returns, tabs, spaces etc i make. So for example, a space now results in a dot SHOWING between the words, a return/enter now results in the P-shaped symbol showing up on empty lines, I have arrows between my bullet points and heaven knows what else it's decided to show me for no reason at all.

I am pretty sure there is an option SOMEWHERE to just turn it showing all of that stuff off. But million dollar question - WHERE? I have searched high and low and of course the helpfiles are about as helpful as a bag of salt in the ocean.

Can someone please, please tell me how to turn this thing off?

Thanks

Maxi2011Tools-->Options-->View. Under "FORMATTING marks", uncheck "All". Or, click on the Show/Hide button on Word's Standard toolbar. It looks like a paragraph symbol. Thank you both so MUCH! You have saved me much frustration!

I appriaciate your time

Solve : Outlook stops with more than one account?

Answer»

I'm using OUTLOOK 2000. I had one EMAIL account for years that works fine. But I set up a second email account on a different server recently, and I'm checking both accounts with one Outlook profile (IMO mode). It tends to work fine for a while, it sends and receives well, but later in the day (presumably when peak time hits) it will inevitably get a server timeout or error connecting server. I know the error is a result of the server, HOWEVER, my Outlook never reconnects with the server once it gets the error. The only way to reconnect is to shut down Outlook and reopen it, then I have a bunch of email downloaded that were WAITING for me on the server. One other computer in my office has the same problem, but 8 others do not.
My server settings are correct because they are exactly the same as those who have no problems. I don't know why it won't reconnect on the next try (it's set to check email every 1 MINUTE). But I always have to shut down and restart Outlook (not restart Windows). I've deleted and RECREATED the account, but still nothing.
I thought maybe multiple Outlook applications were running, but I don't see any in ctrl+alt+del. ANY ideas would really be appreciated!!!! :-?

Solve : Outlook E-mails hiding on me?

Answer»

Using Outlook 2000 (my work account - I have no choice).

The INBOX in my folder list is showing a BLUE 64 in brackets, indicating I have 64 unread messages. What's displaying on the SCREEN, however, is 5 messages, all read.

The 64 unread sounds right, because I was away from the OFFICE last week and that's about my normal volume. Any suggestions? If you go to Tools, Options, then SELECT the Mail Setup tab, is the Send immediatley when connected box checked under Send/Receive?

Solve : Sygate Firewall and AntiVir AV programs?

Answer»

Under normal circumstances, my AV program is updated DAILY (sometimes just the signatures, sometimes just the .exe modules, sometimes both). This week it was both.

The Sygate Firewall starts automatically from the registry during system startup.

During todays weekly AV scan, the following window was posted by the firewall (sygate):

The executable has changed since the last time you used: E:\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avscan.exe
File Version : 7.0.0.35
File Description : Workstation On-Demand Scanner
File Path : E:\AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic\avscan.exe
Process ID : 0xEF0 (Heximal) 3824 (Decimal)

Connection origin : local initiated
Protocol : Raw Ethernet
Local Address : 0.0.0.0
Local Port : 0
Remote NAME :
Remote Address : 0.0.0.0
Remote Port : 0

Ethernet packet details:
Ethernet II (Packet Length: 56)
Destination: FF-ff-ff-ff-ff-ff
Source: 00-30-bd-90-96-08
TYPE: ARP (0x0806)
Address Resolution Protocol (ARP)
Hardware type: Ethernet (0x0001)
Protocol type: IP (0x0800)
Hardware size: 6

Binary dump of the packet:

0030: 48 EC E5 07 00 00 00 00 : | H.......

This would have been fine and dandy except the window was posted 15 minutes into the AV scan. To make matters worse, the AV scan continued to run while I debated how to respond to this message. Normally I would just respond "yes" to dismiss the window, but today I waited an hour, all the while the AV scan continued to process.

Am I asking too much for the firewall to post the window immediately upon the AV startup when the discrepency should have been noticed? Am I also asking too much to have the firewall suspend execution of this or any program where it finds a PROBLEM and wait for the user (me!) to respond to the window?

If you have any thoughts on this, I'd appreciate hearing them.

8-)Nothing to worry about, your AV has updated it's exe file & Sygate saw the change. Thanks Fed but I was hoping there was something actually wrong here. I understand why the window popped-up, I was more concerned about the 15 minute time lag it took to do so and why the AV program was not suspended while I delayed choosing what to do.

I thought this is what firewalls did at the minimum. Interesting thought: Will an AV program discover a virus in it's own executable?

8-)Sidewinder...... Is it possible that your Av was utilizing all of your machines resources while it was scanning and that would possibly explain the delay .....
What are the specs on your machine ? You didn't happen to check what was going on with the task manager did you ?

dl65 I'd think Sygate would only popup when avscan tried to access the net and that access would have been blocked until you decided what to do.
Probably avscan checking for new virus sigs & nothing to do with the virus scan you were running. Thanks guys I appreciate the help. Let me try to explain more. All my maint programs including AV sig updates and AV scans run from a logon script. The script is crafted so each program runs sequentially with no execution overlap.

Most maint programs are scheduled for Saturday at startup. AV sigs are checked for daily. The AV scan runs each Sunday. The actual .exe update took place Sat when the sigs were also updated. When the scan ran Sunday, the Sygate window popped-up and specifically mentioned the changes to the avscan.exe file which is the AV scanner program.

I didn't check the task manager list, but considering a scan program would use lots of I/O, the Sygate program should have no problem grabbing an interrupt.

The system is a Dell Inspiron 5150 Laptop 2.4 GHz, 512MB Ram, 40GB disk, XP SP2 fully updated and reasonably protected. Haven't actually found a virus, trojan, or other malware in over 14 months.

Maybe I'm concerned about nothing, but that 15 minute lag and the non-suspension of the job in question seems out of character for a firewall.

8-)

Here's my theory & I'm sticking to it.

15 minutes into the scan your avscan.exe tried to access the internet but since it was 'changed' on the last update Sygate picked it up.
Then the avscan.exe was blocked from accessing the internet until you gave it the OK.
Needless to say the scan continued on thoughout this time although internet access was blocked.
My bet is that your avscan 'calls home' to either report info or get info or both.OK guys. I'll buy Fed's theory for now. Seems reasonable as anything else I've heard from my friends. Phones home, huh? Wonder where it calls? Sygate was discontinued after being sold to Symantec. Maybe it just calls that empty phone booth in dataland.

[Sigh]

8-)Not Sygate, Avscan accessing the internet.
I'm currently trialing (playing with) Prevx1, I think it does the same.

Solve : Problems with connecting to the web?

Answer»

Hello all. Here's one for all of those of you who are far cleverer than me. I didn't know quite where to post it since it covers a variety of software manufacturers

Up until recently I was with AOL and on a 56k connection, with a pay-per-minute scheme that was done through a place of WORK which allowed a certain amount of people to be registered with them (so as to stop paying any additional flat-rate subscription fee). Anyway, after years of it playing up, AOL finally died so now I have broadband via Tiscali and as far as I know I am nothing to do with the connection to the workplace anymore. However, the AOL symbol still appears in the top right hand corner of my browser (it looks like Internet Explorer). I am very sketchy on the details of how this whole AOL thing worked though, as it was a parent who set it up from where they worked, and she doesn't know either, having got someone else to do it for her many years ago.

The internet itself works fine, but other programs just don't seem to recognise my connection. Automatic updates for Windows aren't working even though I've told it to update automatically, AVG (the free one) can't connect to update itself, MSN Messenger states a problem with connecting to the network, iTunes can't get on to the Music Store (because "the network connection was refused" and Windoze Media Player 10 can't get the codecs it requires to play files. Also, although when I type in an address on the internet it works fine, when it initially loads up it is unable to establish a connection, even though I have set a valid homepage.

My firewall is active but has been set to allow Messenger, etc. to be allowed through, but even with the firewall off the problem persists.

Control Panel > Internet Properties > Connections has Tiscali Broadband as my default and 'dial whenever a network connection is not present. I don't know about LAN settings because unless I'm HORRIBLY MISTAKEN I'm not on any network, and anyway, beyond knowing what LAN stands for, I know very little about how it works.

A couple of things I've searched for in the internet have suggested something about proxy settings, but I have no idea what this means. I'm presuming that either the computer cannot seem to connect to the internet automatically, and this may be to do with my previous set up being connected to a sort of network previously. Or something else entirely. However, whilst I have explored the various options of connecting to the internet on the programs in QUESTION, the fact that it is occurring with many of them would suggest a change needs to be made to my internet connection as a whole, wouldn't it?

Anyway, if anyone is still awake after that lengthy description, I promise if you know how to solve my problem I'll, umm, er... I'll tell you a very funny joke! Honest...Quote

You should remove all Dial-up entries and configurations.

If you are using broadband, there is no reason to keep the Dial-up settings.Load the tiscali install disk!Quote

How do I do that? If I go into Tools > Options whilst on the Tiscali internet or into Control Panel > Internet Properties > Connections (I'm on Windows XP) then there are essentially 2 options: 'Dial Up and Virtual Private Network Settings' and 'LAN Settings'.

The dial up one is selected, with the only option in the box below reading 'Tiscali Broadband (Default)', which presumably I use.

If I CLICK on the 'Settings...' icon then none of the boxes are ticked, including the one about a proxy server. However, I noticed today that when going on to the internet it says at the bottom of the screen that it is trying to connect to a proxy server related to the old connection of my mum's workplace, which we should have nothing to do with anymore.

Anyway, am I in the right area to fix this, and if so then should I be using 'Dial Up and Virtual Private Network Settings' or 'LAN Settings' to connect, or something else entirely? I didn't think broadband had anything to do with dial ups or LANs, or that a proxy server is used if you just have a straightforward account with an ISP.

Also, in Control Panel > Network Connections the one icon under 'LAN or High Speed Connections' is red-crossed, whislt under 'Dial Up' the AOL Dial-On-Demand feature says it is disconnected but warns me 'do NOT delete' and Tiscali Broadband is connected. I didn't think I used a network either...

I'm sure this is a simple problem, but it's got me stumped.

Thanks people.

PS: Yes, I have installed the broadband correctly with the installation disc. At least it told me it was completely successful.

This may very well be the problem, you should not require proxy settings unless your provider has told you so. Or unless you find it necessary to use them yourself.

You can change the proxy settings from

1. Start
2. Settings
3. Control Panel
4. Internet Options
5. Connections tab
6. LAN settings

From the same tab, you should remove entries not associated with your new ISP.

Best advise. Get rid of it. Unless, of course, you HAPPEN to like having your emails spied on.Please only post your same question once. It's kind of cinfusing when you have multiple topics scattered all over the place to get a REASONABLE ANSWER... Also, you only need the incoming SERVER address for Hotmail. The outgoing comes from your ISP and not hotmail...

Solve : Problem with Windows Media Player 10?

Answer»

I have MusicMatch Jukebox Plus Version 10 which I uninstalled thinking it was the cause of the problem. I have reinstalled it, it has identified all my tracks ok but I have the same sound problem now with that.
Another issue is the Musicmatch burner won't load up at all, it throws up an error and freezes. I have emailed musicmatch about that, I think that if I'm paying for it they should sort it out.
I can't find anything similar to media player to rectify the problem. I'll just keep working on ot until I find it or I'll mail them again. So it also happens to other programs when playing music?

Does it happen when:

1. Playing videogames
2. Playing NON-MP3 data
3. Playing an audio CD/DVD
4. Playing system sounds that programs initiate?Does it happen when:

1. Playing videogames
2. Playing NON-MP3 data
3. Playing an audio CD/DVD
4. Playing system sounds that programs initiate?

1. I don't use my PC for video games so that doesn't matter to me.
2. All other data plays ok
3. I just tried a dvd, that was fine.
4. System sounds work just as they should.
The problem is now with the re-installed musicmatch. It has the same problem with playback as I had with media player. This includes all sources. MP3/CD WHATEVER, exactly the same muffled distant sounds on playback. I want to burn to cd but for some reason meadia player doesn't like my cdr's and musicmatch cd burner crashes, so either way I can't burn to cd.
I am waiting on a reply from musicmatch re: the burner problem then I wil hit them with the playback oneQuote

Solve : gfx files in PrintArtist?

Answer»

Hi

I have Sierra PrintArtist 4 on my WINDOWS 95 but it has decided to stop printing. I cannot seem to be able to transfer it to my XP tower or laptop and I don't have the original CD.
The people who own it now will not talk about such an old version and all the newer versions will not open gfx files. There were over 14,000 clip files in gfx folders and the newer versions (I have just bought will not open the files.
Is here no way to open them in my 95 and save them somehow so I can transfer them to my XP as perhaps another extension. There are a lot of people out there who would be delighted if someone came up with an answer.

Best wishes

Dave EdwardsWhat file extensions are these?Just to clarify, Dave:

Quote

all the newer versions will not open gfx files

So you have a newer version of Print Artist that won't recognize these files?

Quote
The people who own it now will not talk about such an old version

You have contacted Sierra about this, and they can't help?Hi

Yes that is correct, all new versions of Print Artist will not open gfx files and print artist 4 had 14,000 of them. They are like clip art and are in gfx folders of various types.
On the print artist FORUM, people are bemoaning the fact that they cannot open the old files.
A recent sale on EBay of a print Artist CD had people asking was it a version that OPENED gfx files. It wasn't.
The product changed hands but that does not explain why they dropped that particular type. What is frustrating is the block on me making a copy from 95 to XP of version 4. I can get the 2 .exe program files but one SAYS its an on line loading file, but It isn't and the other says it needs command (dos) instructions to install. Sometimes I get the message "a second copy is not allowed". I will have made a back up copy on 95.

Best wishes

Dave EdwardsHave you tried downloading a program which may be able to read these files?

If there is so much demand, no doubt someone has taken the time to write a program which can convert or open them.I've done a fair bit of surfing, and haven't been able to find anything that will solve your problem. But there's a lot of bright, helpful people here; with luck perhaps one of them can offer some sort of solution.

Good luck.
Hi Raptor & Hopestar,

Thanks for trying. I have now got the answer from the Print Artist forum. It had been answered in February this year.
http://home.earthlink.net/-pam_ckbks/pabrowser/browser.exe
I was told to right click and it downloaded a program
browser.exe which INDEED converts glx files to WFM which print artist versions after 4 can import and read.
I spent about 4 hours getting all the 16 bit files into a WFM folder .......9523 files in 85 folders.
There are as many again in 8 bit. Are they likely to be the same ?

Best wishes

When I START ONE of my other computers it comes up with sone kind of error report and asks if I want to send it, but the main problem the mouse. Let me try to explain. It boots with the cursor in the middle, I can't move it to the left at all, then once I move it to the right it won't go back left at all. So once it gets to the end of the right side that is it. What did I do? lol And can I fix it?Which operating system is this? Is this a wireless mouse? Do you have virus and Spyware protection? Have you scanned for them? Have you tried using another mouse?

I just used a different mouse, so that was it, duh. hehe
When I boot I'm still getting the rguaum.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. Any idea what that is? Thankshhhmm... No... I searched, but I can't find it :-/ Do you see an icon next to the name in the error reporting box? When did you start seeing the message?

Try the following:

1. Before Windows XP loads, press F8
2. Choose last known good configuration
3. Press Enter
I am not sure when it started but, I also can't get rid of the stupid winfix 2005. It keeps d/l itself. Could that be it? I ran an adware remover program and it isn't getting it.Type msconfig in the run box..click startup folder.and untick winfixQuote

Raymona, if you think that you are being under attack by a Trojan Horse (no pun intended) you should DOWNLOAD and install a firewall:

Firewalls
Use both a hardware and software firewall.
Be advised as DUAL software firewalls may cause problems

ZoneAlarm Free
-- Free firewall - more user friendly
Sygate Personal
-- Free firewall - more configuration optionsI thought I had one with the router or hub or what ever, cause my boys have to go around it all the time. I ran a free virus SCAN that I got from a link somehere on here and it found some and removed all but and it seems to be that one. It says it drops a copy and when removed drops another one or something. It wants me to do all kinds of things I am not sure of or would need to be walked through. lol I don't know what to do with it. Quote
I thought I had one with the router or hub or what ever, cause my boys have to go around it all the time.

That's a plus, however, software firewalls allow for program control. Which your Router will not.

You should install both a hardware and software firewall. Should you need help configuring either, we're here for you.

As for 'bypassing', this is called port forwarding. Just make certain they do not disable the entire firewall!

Solve : PowerDVD Error?

Answer»

I had been using a trial version of PowerDVD without any problems. The trial version expired so I purchased and INSTALLED the new version (PowerDVD 6). Most of my DVDs play with no problems with one EXCEPTION. The following error message pops up:

"The TV out port of your display card is not working properly. The copy protected disc can not be played when the TV out function is enabled."

My computer has never been connected to a TV so I'm not sure what to think of this since this DVD played normally when I was using the trial version.

Any suggestions? Thanks!I am fairly sure that this is a part of the copy protection SYSTEM and if you can disable the COUNTRY origen by finding a copy of the (PowerDVD_Tweaker) this should help fix your problem.
Ther may also be a point in checking to see if there are UPDATED drivers for you vid cardAnd you can also try Xine a freeware DVD player.

Solve : Firefox configuration?

Answer»

Quote

It is for me. I never encounter spyware or viruses on my computer and have used a number of scanners during my Firefox usage. Adware and virus scanners have become irrelevant. Firewall only used for program control, but that is due to my Router.

You indeed do need extensions. When Firefox is installed, why not create a seperate thread and I will show you some things that will help you better secure your computer.

I have it installed at both work and home so please enlighten me. Let's get started!

First of all, you will want to enable manual cookie control:

1. Tools
2. Options
3. Privacy
4. Cookies
5. Tag Allow sites to set cookies and then select Ask me every time.

Tag For the originating website only if you want less requests.

Once a request has been made to place a cookie, you can easily deny, accept or temporarily accept the cookie. This will make certain that no unknown cookies will enter your system and track your habbits (HENCE the name tracking cookies)

The pop-up blocker is built-in. Firefox should warn you when a pop-up is blocked. But I never bother with pop-ups, even if they are friendly. Any website that requires pop-ups to function works.

Firefox will not accept ActiveX elements. This is a huge increase in security, but you may need to use Internet Explorer should you ever visit a website which requires ActiveX. Or you can download the ActiveX extension that I have seen. (Not tested)

As for security related extensions, you may want to try the following:

Noscript

Blocks JavaScript and asks for you to allow it by means of a yellow bar. I only allow Javascript for websites that I frequently visit and trust. (This is not the same as entirely disabeling JavaScript!)

Adblock

Blocks ads by right clicking and selecting Adblock image.

XXX Block

Blocks adult content. Bit crude, but very customizeable. Only extension which is capable of doing so.

FlashBlock

Blocks Flash movies and replaces them with a > icon so that you can view them in your own time, and not when the website thinks you should. Also eliminates nasty background songs that intertwine with your music if they are played via Flash. (Try http://www.stalker-game.com with and without, you'll see what I mean)

PDF Reader

Allows you to choose what you want to do with PDF files. Read in HTML, Download or open with a . PDF reader.

Then there are some extensions you just need to have:

All In One Gestures

Command the browser with your mouse or simply add shortcuts. (I use it to create new TABS by simply keeping my LMB pressed and dragging it upwards. Fully customizeable)

ForecastFox

Brilliant extension to find the temperature in your city or anywhere on the world! And it doesn't even come with spyware.

Most useful of all the functions in Firefox: Click with the middle mouse (Scrollwheel) on a link and it will open in a new tab. You can close tabs by clicking on their tab icons with the middle mouse .

There is more to explore, but these are the most noteworthy functions!Stick with ie..........Quote
Stick with ie..........

Usually, an opinion or advice comes with an explanation. But I guess we shouldn't expect one from you since you weave 'm from thin air. Thanks Raptor, I'm all set up... well minus the extensions you listed that I didn't find important of course

Um merlin, I did already say I used Firefox in the other thread and as Raptor stated I'd APPRECIATE there being reasons behind an opinion.Quote
Thanks Raptor, I'm all set up... well minus the stuff you listed that I didn't find usefull of course

Excellent!

You may need to get used to the manual cookie control, but it'll become your friend real soon if you've got the patience. Tracking cookies will become strangers to you in a matter of minutes.

You can install more extensions by going to:

1. Tools
2. Extensions
3. More extensions

There are literally hundreds of extensions and a lot of them are very interesting.

Do not forget that Mozilla Firefox comes with a built in RSS reader. You may have allready noticed that you can see the latest headlines from BBC.com. You can add website if you like. But the website does need to have an RSS feader URL.This is how my browser ID's the OS and browser type

User-Agent: SpacedOut/0.01 [fu] (Win67; X; IEsucksbigtime)

I guess a lot of sites look at their server logs and scratch their heads. Its just my opinion of IE. Quote

Solve : Unknown error in Client and Host Security Platform?

I am unable to start my Webroot SpySweeper, Norton Antivirus Suite 2005 and Microsoft Antispyware. All other applications so far seem ok including Black Ice, Adaware Personal, AVG Free, Spybot and XSoft Anti Spyware. I'm using a Dell D600 LAPTOP with Windows XP SP2.

Webroot Spysweeper reports: An error occured in the application
I have uninstalled and reinstalled this program, however the same fault reoccurs.

Norton Antivirus Suite 2005 reports: Unknown error in Client and Host Security Platform.
Frustratingly I cannot even uninstall this program. Every attempt is met the error screen.

Microsoft Antispyware reports: Critical Error (Error 101)
I reinstalled this as the updated Window Defenter Beta and it's been running smoothly.

I've ran scans with all my other security programs and they REPORT a clean system. I've restarted Windows countless times and in Safe Mode the error screens still come up. Also, I can no longer update Windows. The screens stays on 'Checking for the latest updates for your computer...' an stays there, I quit after an hour. The green progress bar wasstill sweeping.

I'm not sure if this is related but the problems seem to occured after Webroot Spysweeper discovered an removed 44 infected rootfiles(?) (I'm not 100% certain it was rootfiles(?) it REPORTED as I wasn't paying attention.)

Solve : How can I delete song from playlist?

Answer»

Hi
Please if SOMEONE can help me I'll be very thankfull to him.I've got 5000 mp3 files so I will reduce and sort but I don't know how is possible to delete a song from a winamp playlist because it's be a better for me to delete a bad song direct from the playlist and I woudn't necessary to go with windows exploler DIRECTLY on it and delete it manually. So if I knew it I'll save a lots of my TIME.Find the folder they are stored in!You should be able to remove files by using the open menu. It works like My Computer or Windows Explorer. I do not know how to directly remove files, I do not use WinAMP.OK
But can you tell me someone some program where I can listen a songs and if I don't like some song I will can to delete it directly from the same program.Quote

Good QUESTION. I only use Windows Media Player. You can right click on the song list and choose Open folder with files and from there delete the songs. But not directly, I don't think. Although there is a delete from list and delete BUTTON.Open a windows explorer window in the songs directory at the same time. It's called multitasking.Yes I know what you mean but is it my idea in this forum is to find a program where I can listen and delete song direct from playlist because how you see 5000 songs are pretty much so if I use this method with exploler and winamp(or windows media player) I'll be lost lots of my time.
But thank's for the offer.Have you tried doing it from the media library in Windows Media Player?Yes I try with windows media player and the results are bad. I can't delete a song from library or from the playlist I can only remove with "delete" button this song.I would go for a job in the Professions and become a doctor, dentist, or a surgeon.

try it in google "CALL alert software"
http://www.google.com/search?client=opera&rls=en&q=call+alert+software&sourceid=opera&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8I sent LocalNet an email and this was their reply.

"Hello!
LocalNet does not offer this particular service. HOWEVER, MAY of these types of service available online are compatible with LocalNet. You can try a google search for 'callwave' or 'call alert' to locate some options."

I FOUND Call Alert, which is free, at http://www.ivrsoft.com/call-alert.htm.

Solve : daylight savings doubles outlook appointments?

Answer»

I have all my appointments in MS Outlook. I live in Colorado and we are currently on Daylight savings time. When the time changed it made all my Outlook appointments spread across 2 days. I had to CLICK on the clock in the system tray and remove the daylight savings check to have my Outlook show my appointments correctly. BUT now my clock is off by an hour. Anyone know how to fix this?

Well, he can't just download MS Project. It's not free, you know. And since he has Outlook, he obviously wants a solution. Something is wrong there; the change to Daylight Savings Time should not cause that to happen. Quote

Open Outlook Calendar, go to Tools, Options, and click on the Calendar Options button. Click on the Time Zone button. Is the correct time zone shown? Is the box for "Adjust for daylight savings time" checked?
What I see happening is a full day appointment is from 12am to 12am. if you change the time zone it moves the full day appointment to 1am to 1am the next day THUS when you look at your calenday in the monthly view it looks like you have a 2 day appointment. That is what I need to find a fix for!bnovacek...I just opened up Outlook and went to the calendar ...I created some hypothetical appointments ...... I set one at 11:30 pm on todays date ( with daylight saving turned off ) when I applied daylight savings ...that appointment as well as all the others was moved ahead by 1 hour....... so the 11:30 pm appointment on todays date was showing up as a 12:30 Am appointment tomorrow ....... It would appear thats the way Outlook HANDLES daylight saving ....... why dont you simply set your clock to the correct time and then EDIT your calendar ....and things will be correct .

dl65 You are correct and that will work. But I deal with months of appointments and places. I don't want to have to go and adjust all my appointments every time daylight savings CHANGES (twice a year). Also try this. I have 3 hundred clients in my address book with their birhtdays and anniversayrs etc. Those are full day events. When the clock adjusts for daylight savings it moves them all to another day either 1 ahead or behind and now I am off on what day I need to get stuff out to those clients all because Outlook screws up with time. See my problem?

Thanks for look and please if anyone has a fix I am anxious to know it.Quote

So, when you create these appointments, you check the box for "All day event". Is that correct? Hmmm, are you an event planner? Otherwise, I can't imagine why you would need to create these appointments in that manner. I haven't used this feature with Outlook, but I suspect that if you stop creating your appointments that way, then won't have this problem. Even you are an event planner, why would you need to create appointments in that manner? I mean, seriously, how can you schedule 300 or more "all day events" in a year? Do you literally spend the entire day with your clients on their birthdays and anniversaries? When do you sleep? And, if you business is not event planning, when do have time to get any business done if you're basically scheduling the whole year for birthdays and anniversaries?
Does it really matter why or how I use my Outlook. No not all my events are all day but bdays of clients etc are. The issue is not how or why I use Outlook the issue is when the time changes twice a year it screws up the all day events. Look at it this way I have an appointment for 1pm for an hour on a day. go change your to daylight savings time and suddenly that 1 pm appointment is now at 2 pm. GUESS WHAT my appoointment is at 1pm NOT 2pm so why is Outlook changing it? Try it any appointmetn you have change the daylight savings and your appoint moved now your not at your 1 HOUR appointment on time. and all day events are now 2 day events.
Here's a reference with some suggested workarounds for this: Outlook, Appointments and Time Zones. Unfortunately, I believe there is no IDEAL solution, which would be some setting in Outlook where the user could control how Outlook handles the change to Daylight Savings Time.

Solve : Accessing startup tray in Windows XP Home Edition?

Answer»

Using windows xp how do I access the programs that run automatically at start up?
I'm sure I have 10 or 15 little programs that have added themselves to the startup tray.Open those programs and LOOK for a configuration setting that allows you to set it to NOT launch during startup. Another option is to run msconfig (Start, Run, msconfig), select the Startup tab, locate a program and uncheck the box NEXT to it. Click Apply and OK.Thanksdownload winpatrol to make things EASIER, this program does the job
Thanks guys, this should get me started in the RIGHT direction.
What is absolutely MUST HAVE on startup? Here are two good sources of info on processes you might see running when you open Windows Task MANAGER: WinTasks Process Library, and Task List Programs - AnswersThatWork's famous Database of .... They explain what the process does and give guidance on whether the process can safely be disabled, etc.Quote
