Mobile adapters are customized to each manufacturers specs.i didnt seem to have this issue when i ran windows 7. Thats what im confused about the most. I installed the same driver in 7 and it worked great! Quote from: comda on April 08, 2013, 03:04:17 PM i didnt seem to have this issue when i ran windows 7. Thats what im confused about the most. I installed the same driver in 7 and it worked great! Windows 7 Drivers work best on Windows 7, and occasionally have issues with Windows 8. You might CONSIDER installing Windows 8 Drivers. |

Solve : Windows8 forgotten password? |
Answer» I've been using XP for years but bought my mum a new vaio laptop with windows8. When we started up she had to enter a password that was so complicated she now cannot remember it. Consequently her xmas present is now a useless black plastic rectangle. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/forgot-windows-password Here's what the link says - and my comments are included:- What to do if you forget your Windows password If you've forgotten your Windows password, there are several ways to retrieve or reset it: If your PC is on a domain, your system administrator must reset your password. NO I'M NOT ON A DOMAIN - I JUST BOUGHT A COMPUTER THAT I WANT TO USE. If you're using a Microsoft account, you can reset your password online. For more info, go to the Microsoft account sign-in webpage. NO I DON'T HAVE A MICROSOFT ACCOUNT - I JUST BOUGHT A COMPUTER THAT I WANT TO USE. Have someone with an administrator account on the PC sign in and change your password for you. (If you have an administrator account and remember the administrator password, you can do this yourself.) NO ONE HAS AN ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT ON THIS COMPUTER - I JUST BOUGHT IT FOR MY MUM. If you're using a local account, use your password HINT as a reminder. WINDOWS8 MADE US MODIFY HER USUAL PASSWORD SO MANY TIMES IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE FOR HER TO RECALL IT. If you've tried these suggestions and still can't sign in: . I CAN'T "TRY" ANY OF THESE SUGGESTIONS AS THEY ARE'NT APPLICABLE. If you have Windows 8, you'll need to reinstall Windows. HOW DO I REINSTALL WINDOWS? IS THAT WHAT THE "FULL RESET" UNDER THE "ASSIST" BUTTON DOES? If you have Windows RT, you'll need to contact your PC manufacturer. I HAVE WINDOWS8 - I ASSUME WINDOWS RT IS SOMETHING DIFFERENT. For more info about changing or resetting passwords, see Change your password. Quote from: dude1234 on April 01, 2013, 03:01:13 PM If you're using a local account, use your password hint as a reminder.Quote from: dude1234 on April 01, 2013, 02:54:38 PM Following up:- I visited Mum yesterday resulting in the following further actions:- The vaio laptop has a button labeled "ASSIST" which is adjacent to the on/off button. Using the assist button puts you into a troubleshooting menu and in that menu you can do a "full reset". The full reset seems to be the same as a reformat. Unfortunately I had to leave before it was completed as it took around 8 hours.Well, did you allow it to continue when you left? What happened? Did it finish? If so, how long did it take in total? By the way, 8 hours is an awfully long time. This may be an indication of other issues. I've seen some references which mention hitting F10 during startup to RUN the recovery partition. See http://forum.notebookreview.com/sony/299699-sony-vaio-laptop-recovery-partition.html. This may vary by model, so I can't guarantee it will work in your case. If not, you need to do some research/inquiry. And, again, that computer is under warranty, right? Quote from: Allan on April 01, 2013, 03:04:18 PM Allan, It would be misleading to lay all responsibility with the user (in this case, my mother). She had a password that she wanted to use. She can remember this password. She still remembers it. However, Windows made her modify the password into something so complicated that she did not remember it. Nor did I! The initial password was something like this "sf6hy7V"........quite reasonable. Windows was not happy - firstly it told us the password was not long enough, so we made it ""sf6hy7Vxyz". Windows was still not happy - it told us we needed to mix in more capital letters, so we made it "Sf6hy7VxyZ". Windows was still not happy - it told us we needed to include some non standard characters, so we made it "Sf6hy#$%7VxyZ". So I ask you - is it any wonder we cannot remember it!!! Put it in perspective Allan, it's just a computer, not access to her bank account. Telling someone how to make up a password is in my opinion an invasion of a person's civil liberties. If I wish to use "123" as a password, who are you to stop me? Quote from: soybean on April 01, 2013, 03:19:08 PM Well, did you allow it to continue when you left? What happened? Did it finish? If so, how long did it take in total? Yes - it finished. I'll probably visit Mum again in 3 months but if possible I'll get my brother to pick it up for me before then and I'll work on it at home. I think in this case the "Assist" button replaces the usual process of entering the bios. I tried a few keys such as DEL, F8, F2, etc but it just booted normally. Warranty is something to consider but not usually my first choice. No offense intended, but all you have to do is write down the password when you create it. Blaming Windows (or any software) for requiring a strong password is merely shifting the blame. But okay, moving on. Hopefully the problem is now solved. Quote from: dude1234 on April 01, 2013, 09:11:29 PM Allan, It would be misleading to lay all responsibility with the user (in this case, my mother). She had a password that she wanted to use. She can remember this password. She still remembers it. However, Windows made her modify the password into something so complicated that she did not remember it. Nor did I!None of this makes any sense whatsoever. It's simply untrue; Windows DOES NOT force users to use such complex passwords. It does not require use of "non standard characters". And, a password such as sf6hy7V is not too short; that password is one character longer than the password I'm using with Windows 8. Actually, Windows makes the password process easy when going through the initial setup of Windows on a new computer. I just went through this twice about 2 months ago. The user is asked to enter the enter the password and is also asked to create a reminder question. In my case, I used the name of the first family pet I remember from childhood as my password and the reminder was "name of 1st pet". It can't get much simpler than that. I've never seen those type of requests when setting a Windows password either. Quote from: patio on April 02, 2013, 09:05:45 AM I've never seen those type of requests when setting a Windows password either.Agree 100% with the above two posts.Yes, of COURSE, Allan and Patio are correct, none of this actually happened! Mum is using her computer as we speak. Dear old girl, she's doing a spot of cobol programming.I don't understand your response... All i stated is i have never seen that procedure setting a Windows password...period. |

Solve : Downgrade Windows 8 to Windows 7? |
Answer» Hi guys, Did your computer come with Windows 8 when it was new, or did you upgrade the OS from Win 7 to Win 8? Is your computer a desktop or laptop/notebook? If it's a desktop, what expansion slots are available? Is the Nvidiga GeForce 8600 integrated into the motherboard or is it a card in an expansion slot? What happens when you try to connect a second monitor?Desktop computer, with PCI & PCI Express slots, Windows 8 upgraded from 7. When I extend desktop to second monitor Windows act like there is everything ok, but on second monitor is only dark. Strange, Nvidia control panel detected both monitors, exact models. On Win 7 worked just fine.Perhaps driver update would solve the problem. Have you visited NVidia's website to see whether they have a driver update for Windows 8? I found an interesting article http://www.dual-monitor.biz/2011/09/14/windows-8-multi-monitor/. Windows 8 provides some improved features for using multiple monitors. I THINK I'd investigate further before downgrading back to Win 7. Quote from: soybean on February 25, 2013, 09:04:27 AM Perhaps driver update would solve the problem. Have you visited NVidia's website to see whether they have a driver update for Windows 8?I tried all possible SOLUTIONS related to that Nvidia card, but no success. It's driving me crazy. Solve : Error message on boot sequence?? |
Answer» For about a month now I have been getting the following message when booting up: "checking media (fail)". This appears twice then a normal boot follows. I haven't noticed any problems with any hardware or software so this is more of an "annoyance" then an issue for now. I'm not sure how or why the problem started since I don't always stay next to the machine when it boots but it didn't exist when I first got it late last year. For about a month now I have been getting the following message when booting up: "checking media (fail)". This appears twice then a normal boot follows. I haven't noticed any problems with any hardware or software so this is more of an "annoyance" then an issue for now. I'm not sure how or why the problem started since I don't always stay next to the machine when it boots but it didn't exist when I first got it late last year.Check the BIOS/UEFI settings and see if network or PXE is listed under boot order. If so, move it to start after the hard drive or disable it. The "media check failure" or "media test failure, check cable" message is often caused by network boot trying to start when there is no network (ethernet) cable plugged in. Quote I have contacted Dell and their solution is to re-install Win 8 which I'm not quite ready to do yet since I don't think it would solve this. I have seen the same issue posted on various forums but so far no solution has been offered. I agree, if the message appears before the 'starting windows' message, reinstalling windows will almost certainly not fix it.Thanks for the answer. Network or PXE is not listed in the UEFI settings. On the other hand I got a call from a Dell tech who told me that they are working on trying to figure out what causes the message but I don't really know if they will get back to me anytime soon. I'll keep looking around for a solution. If their suggestion to re-install Win8 to fix a boot error message is any indication i wouldn't wait for that phone call myself... Contact the MBoard Manuf. and you may get better results...A Dell tech did call me and after some time on the phone we determined that the issue is indeed with the boot sequence. In the UEFI boot the first items displayed are: UEFI Onboard LAN IPv4 UEFI Onboard LAN IPv6 Windows Boot Manager and it seems that the first 2 items need a network connection which isn't yet available thus the "error" messages. In the settings I had to change the boot mode to "legacy secure boot off" instead of UEFI boot mode. After restarting I went into the setup where I found the following order: Network Hard Drive CD/DVD/CD-RW Drive I changed the order to put Network last (couldn't disable it as Dell suggested); after rebooting once more I went back into the settings and change the boot option back to "UEFI secure boot on" and that solved the problem. Below are the instructions that Dell sent me if that helps. Good luck!!! I would like to confirm if you can connect via network(NIC/LAN) using the machine. ALSO, as a workaround here is what I can suggest for now (Choose boot order while in Legacy boot setting): 1. Go to One Time Boot menu (F12) 2. Select Change Boot Mode Setting then choose Legacy Boot Secure boot off or on 3. Go to One Time Boot menu (F12) again and select Enter Setup 4. Choose Boot tag and Legacy Boot should be selected. 5. Make sure that hard drive comes first on the list. If Network is appearing, select it and choose disable. Save setup and restart the computer. Glad you are fixed up and Thanx for posting back with the solutions... |

Solve : Dual Boot Windows 8 on top of Windows 7? |
Answer» I am having a little bit of an issue installing windows 8 on a different partition on my hard drive. Every time I try, I get an error saying that one or more dynamic drives have been created on this hard drive. So Windows 8 can not install on this particular partition... So I'm STUCK... I have tried pretty much everything and have got no where. I am REALLY good with computers and there really isn't ANYTHING that gets me stuck while working with them, but for some reason I'm stuck on this particular problem... If you could help me out, that would be AWESOME. I have been trying for the past week now to figure out something to do to get Windows 8 to install so I can dual boot it with my Windows 7 OS... I just want to check Windows 8 out and I really don't want to do it thru a virtualization program that also slows down the process of my computer...No need to double post... |

Solve : Windows 8 and SD card with photos; help before husband throws the computer out? |
Answer» I got my husband a new laptop for Christmas and it has Windows 8. It's driving my husband (and me) crazy. My husband has a SD CARD of photos from a game trail camera. With his old laptop he could just put the SD card in his computer and flip through the images by hitting the side to side arrow keys. For the life of us we cant figure this out on the new computer. What are we doing wrong... hopefully someone can help us and also explain this is very BASIC simple terms Thank you.First of all, Does the PC do anything when you insert the card? ...The Windows 8 desktop’s photo-management tools offer more control than the Start screen’s Photos app, but they have one drawback: Unlike the Photos app, the desktop’s Photo Viewer shows only photos stored on your own computer. To see photos stored elsewhere, you need to visit that site, be it on Facebook, SkyDrive, or Flickr, for EXAMPLE... But there is more and more... http://www.pcworld.com/article/2013989/windows-8-deep-dive-get-to-know-your-photos-app.html This is almost funny... Quote ... you'll find Photos, a media management app designed by Microsoft to make it easy for you to view photos and videos from disparate devices and social networks in one central location. ...Does that help any? If so, can you explain it to me? If you break up with you Husband, I can not help. I am happily married to my first wife. |

Solve : Failed Update? |
Answer» Windows UPDATE (KB2771431x64) failed to install properly. Error code 80246007 Have you tried to restore to an earlier point. Some time before the update. Thks,Geek. This update was installed (Dec16/2012) ,two days after I got the PC home. The restore points that I have are dated later. overthehillBummer! Restore points take very little Hard Drive space.Next time don't destroy them. Windows will manage them for you. This link might offer some ideas: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-windows_update/windows-8-fails-to-update/7e0278a7-33e8-4db0-830e-2fb4ce299331 Quote from: Geek-9pm on January 27, 2013, 03:15:30 PM Bummer! Thks,Geek. Here's the thing; I didn't destroy any restore points. I purchased the PC on Dec.14/12,set it up Dec.15 and stated loading on Dec.16. Dec.16 is the day that the file was downloaded and failed. A restore point was not made on that day. Another thing; I found the failed download when snooping through the PC in "View Update History". Had I not gone there I would not have known that it failed. Also now when I go to "View Update History" I'm told that I have not installed any updates and the page is blank. The only way that I can find whether an update has failed is to go to "Installed Updates" and find the files that do not have the option to "Uninstall". Beside the failed file that I previously mentioned there are also 5 other files that I'm unable to uninstall. These files were installed before the date that I purchased the PC. 1)Microsoft Office - installed 09/01/2013 (2,3,4 and 5) Microsoft Windows - installed 11/10/2012 The way that I see this, the big problem is not so much Restore Points as it is the inability to remove and reinstall failed updates. Although it's not possible, even if I somehow would have had a Restore Point previous to 11/10/12 what's to say the that once these were reinstalled(if critical) they would not fail again? Then what? They recommend to have updates installed automatically but do not notify of failure and obviously there's no way to predict ONE. So from what I've been able to find it's either deny all updates or put up with some failures. I'm even starting to wonder how important these failed updates are? I wonder how many kazillion PC's are out there with failed updates that people don't even know about? Since running into this with Win8 I decided to check the updates on my other PC with Vista. Sure enough there's a few failed updates on that one too from long ago. Really wondering if it's worth the effort? overthehill If it shows up in the update list it is installed. Some updates lack an Uninstall button because they simply cannot be uninstalled or because later updates require them. Quote from: BC_Programmer on January 28, 2013, 03:55:35 AM If it shows up in the update list it is installed. Some updates lack an Uninstall button because they simply cannot be uninstalled or because later updates require them. Thanks,BC_. I'll accept that and keep on computing. I find it strange though that I'm no longer able to view "failed" or "successful" updates in "View Update History". overthehill |

Solve : Windows 8 installation? |
Answer» I have a COMPAQ 615 laptop, currently running Win 7. Wanting to upgrade to Win 8 PRO, I successfully downloaded Win 8 which took about 5 hours. The installation seemed to go fine, but then I got the message "installation was unsuccessful, restoring your previous version". (Which it did). No explanation about the failed install. How do I get past this? Must I start the download all over again, or can I just redo the install process? I have already paid for the download and don't feel like paying again! Did you run the Windows 8 Upgrade Assistant first? Run that first; it will give a list of software that needs to be uninstalled before upgrading, software you will have to reinstall, and any other things that are known to CAUSE problems. Look at the manufacturer's website (in this CASE HP) for your model and see if there are upgrade instructions from the manufacturer as well. |

Solve : Appreciate help with Boot Sequence? |
Answer» My PC Enter the computer's firmware utility by pressing Del during the initial stages of the boot process (before any boot loader appears). Some computers use other keys for this purpose; examine your early boot-time messages or read your computer's MANUAL to learn what to use. It can be re-enabled after you have finished your tasks.Thks, patio for responding. I get into setup pressing the delete tab. (Now here's where I'm lost.) Whether or not it's configured to EZ Mode I don't know? Pressing F7 doesn't work. When in setup I see Advanced on the same line (up top) as Boot Options. Is that the Advanced Mode? If it is there are no options as you have described below(Click Security Boot Parameters etc.etc.) _______________________________________ ________________________________ If you're configured to boot in EZ Mode, press F7 to enter Advanced Mode. Click the Boot tab. Click Security Boot Parameters near the bottom-left of the screen. (It's conceivable you'll need to scroll down to see this on some systems.) Change OS Type from Windows 8 UEFI to Other Legacy & UEFI. The Secure Boot Mode and Key Management options should disappear. Press the F10 key to save your changes and reboot the computer. _______________________________________ ________________ Update: Being brand new to Win 8 I did some Googling and found an "Advanced Start up" option. This states; "Start up from a device or disc(such as USB or DVD), change your PC's firmware settings, change Windows start up settings, or restore Windows from a system image". This will restart your PC. RESTART NOW ! Is this an option? Having no real back up for this PC I'm leery of clicking that button. Need your guidance. Thks., overthehill Problem solved but see no"Solved" option. 1) "Disabled" Secure Boot 2) Launch CSM to "Always" Now I can set boot order out of the BIOS. overthehill |

Solve : Brightness issues after bootup? |
Answer» Hi, not sure if this is correct section, but here GOES. Each time i see the desktop for a second or so before it goes black. This sounds very much like an LCD monitor backlight issue. You have in fact described the process for checking for this. If you shine a strong lamp or a flashlight on the screen and you can see the desktop then I would very strongly suspect this. If you can connect ANOTHER monitor and it works then that would be proof. Ok. Allan. Nothing at all is new. I shut it down last night after browsing the web "bbc sport" to be exact. I`ve tried to boot into bios and safe mode, each time after 1 second or so the screen goes Dark. Salmon. Yes, i too am beginning to think it`s a monitor issue. If i turn my monitor off and on, each time i will see my desktop for a second before it goes dark. I`ll grab a monitor from somewhere and plug it in to see. If it is a case of a dodgy backlight, is that a new monitor? or is it repairable? THANKS for the speedy responses.Yes, if it happens in safe mode I completely agree with Salmon Trout Quote from: gazman on January 04, 2013, 08:30:31 AM If it is a case of a dodgy backlight, is that a new monitor? or is it repairable? Monitor backlights can be replaced, but if the monitor is old and/or small screen size then the cost can exceed the value of the monitor and even approach pr equal the cost of a new one. Especially if you lack the skill to replace it yourself and would need to take it to a repair shop. You must do some research. You should be aware that the problem may not be the actual lamp but possibly associated electronic circuitry, and without proper test equipment and expertise you could easily BUY the wrong things and waste money that could be put towards a new monitor or a working used one. LCD monitors have got a lot cheaper recently. |

Solve : {Help Request} - Can't get past login scree? |
Answer» Hi I'm having trouble getting past my login screen.. Tried Automatic Repair and it just said it cannot repair windows. Do you have the Windows 8 Installation Disc or System Recovery Media. You can boot off Windows 8 disc and PERFORM repair installation -or- if you have System Recovery Media CD's or DVD's or Thumb Drive with restore image on it you can boot off of this and perform Repair Recovery Installation saving all your data from being deleted. Both of these methods WOULD fix windows issues. The info tells me that a Windows Update was at some point in time interrupted... Look at the list of updates in safe mode and re-do say the last 3 or 4 of them...disable AVG until this is finished. When you re-boot login and all other functions should be back to normal... Quote from: Chammiez on January 03, 2013, 10:52:15 PM First of all, I installed AVG 2013 internet security. while setting that up, it kkept popping up with 'Threat Detected' coming from C:/users/cham/%appdata%/roaming/microsoft/windows_update.exe That's almost certainly a virus or something else malicious. The legitimate Windows Update would NEVER be in that location. I agree with DaveLembke on this. Repair Install would be the fastest way to fix this if you can backup your data. |

I have installed it OK, but when I open it, my PC is not happy and shuts down for a restart, saying there a 'KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE'. Everything else is operating with no problems, so it's obviously that program it doesn't like. |

Solve : NETIO.sys BSoD? |
Answer» I'm continually getting a BSOD with the driver error NETIO.sys. I've SEARCHED FAR and wide for a solution, to no avail. I've narrowed the BSoD down to every time I start downloading a game on Steam, for instance, after a few minutes, my computer crashes. It doesn't happen while I'm playing a game. Let me know if you NEED any more information, I'm just trying to figure out what NETIO.sys is associated with. Thanks in advance.System Information |

Solve : Windows 8 Downgrade issue? |
Answer» I bought an Asus K55 and wish to downgrade from WINDOWS 8 to windows 7 with a windows 7 Home Premium upgrade disk. I went through the installation process, but upon reboot, I get a screen telling me that a driver was corrupted, or something of that manner. Upon attempting to install it again, I notice that on the first screen of Operating System installation, after choosing a custom install, and choosing the partition to install to, I notice that after choosing the proper partition, I get an error saying that the disk order installation is incorrect for the GPT. It also GIVES me error code 0x8003002 which I have not been able to find any relevant to online. File: \$WINDOWS.~BT\Windows\system32\winload.efiIs on the Windows disk that I'm trying to install not working properly with the... something. And just now my friend tells me that UEFI won't allow me to install Windows 7. I don't like Windows 8 I don't like Microsoft. edit: figuring out something with the unsigned driver on the disk I'm using might do... something. I don't know how I would get the computer to recognize the driver as signed. I'm getting sick of windows 8 Content removed. Keep it clean...we have Members of all ages here. Quote from: stefun999 on January 28, 2013, 06:10:35 PM And just now my friend tells me that UEFI won't allow me to install Windows 7.He is misinformed. The problem could be that you are using a Windows 7 Upgrade Disk. Which is- as it's name suggests- for UPGRADING to Windows 7. Jokes at Windows 8's expense aside, you can't upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 7. Windows 7 can only be upgraded from Windows Vista. The only way to install Windows 7 with that disk would be to First Install Windows Vista. Or, get a Win7 Retail Disc rather than the Upgrade disk. I'm not really sure how you got as far in the process as you did- perhaps there is something about the Win7 Upgrade process that I don't understand myself. Ideally, when installing an older OS than one currently installed, You should be completely wiping the disk of all partitions that are present, rather than trying to install Windows 7 over top of Windows 8. Another thing to change is the BIOS setting. You can turn off UEFI and use the older EFI interface on every system I've seen- (I BELIEVE that providing the option to not use UEFI is part of the UEFI specification). This might be labelled "Legacy BIOS" or "Legacy Boot". |

Solve : *censored* PLEASE HELP FPS ISSUES? |
Answer» I bought a new computer about a year ago off of cyberpower. Specs- GeForce GTX 760ti AMD 8320 8 core processor 8 GB ram 64 bit os Windows 8 After USING this new, what I thought was an acceptable computer for a few months I was so happy and satisfied with my purchase and could run any game I really wanted on exceptional FPS. But about 2-3 months ago I started getting severe FPS drops for about 30 SECONDS to 1 minute at a time, and after this short lag spike I come back to fine FPS. For example - If I tried playing Counter Strike Global Offensive (CSGO - a source engine easy to run game ) I get this problem about once every around 3 rounds. It is making games BASICALLY unplayable with friends and is ONE of the most frustrating things that has ever happened to me. I've factory reset the computer twice and I currently have nothing downloaded but steam games, skype, and teamspeak. Yet I still get the problem, so if anybody could help I'd seriously appreciate it. If possible I'd like to find a way to not have to spend any more money because I already invested 1400$.You did not mention what Hard drive you are using. One should run a Drive Diagnostic from time to to to see if the Hard drive is slowing down the system. Here is a list of free tools. http://pcsupport.about.com/od/toolsofthetrade/tp/tophddiag.htm]Free Hard Drive Testing Programs Hard drive prices are now down again. Good time to get a spare. |

Solve : New(possibly old) Windows update causing freezing, crashing, and slow overall perf? |
Answer» So me being FORGETFUL,I think I saw a windows update a couple weeks back, saying that it would install itself once the computer was shut down,if not done manually(this has no relevance to the problem, just some background information).I don't usually shut down my computer(I know that's not good) so a couple days ago when I did actually decide to shut it down it started downloading the update. This could be JUST coming out or from what I saw a while ago I have no clue. However when downloading,it took over 2 hours to complete and when booting onto the desktop nothing would load for 40+ minutes. When trying to get onto some of my games everything freezes and doesn't respond.Eventually everything goes back to normal, only a very frustrating hour and a half later, with problems still occurring when trying to open a program/double clicking something fast(ie:clicking speaker VOLUME twice, only to freeze the whole computer for 20+ seconds). My HARDWARE is decently old for those of you who were wondering at this point(2012) but I really don't think it would have anything to do with that, considering my load times were very good(or at LEAST good enough for me) before the update.I've searched recent windows 8 update problems and haven't found people having the same problems close enough to mine to say that what's going on with my computer is a common thing.Any help would be great, thanks! |

Solve : HELP Windows created a huge system reserved partition (35.7 GB) on my SSD? |
Answer» Hello, I own a Sandisk sdssdp-128g-g25 and I cloned my windows install with Easeus. In step three, you'll WANT to click on your Windows partition and clone only that to the SSD instead of cloning the entire DISK. Cloning the entire disk would bring all your partitions over, which you won't likely have ROOM for.It seems that is what you did. Oh darn, so I wasn't supposed to pull all the partition over? I didn't realize that when I cloned it and also cloned the system reserved partition. 1. What should I do now? (other than a clean install because I formatted that already) 2. What causes a 350mb partition to jump into a 35.7GB partition? When I first installed it, C: was a complete partition over the SSD.Resize the partitions with EaseUS Partition Master, MiniTool Partition Wizard or Aomei Partition Assistant. |

Answer» When I FIRST LOG onto my COMPUTER it says I NEED to install Windows updates. But when I go to "updates and recovery" it says I have it set to automatically install windows updates. Solve : what is the magic way to make an Acer E5-511P boot? |
Answer» So I have never ever had a problem like this before, so let us just SAY last night I turned off my system, put it in my laptop bag, then today I WENT to work came home, plugged in the laptop, turned it on, and got to the acer ( explore BEYOND limits page ) and the little circle of balls keeps going round and round. what is the magic key to get it up and running, or at least to get me into my system. I am here using a TABLET, so bear with me. I have a 64bit windows 8.1 acer E5-511P laptop. thank you please help. I never needed tech support and they want to charge me 99.-199 to help. last time I buy an Acer, even Cnet says their tech support isn't the best, can someone help. thanks.I'd leave the computer powered on and connected to wall power because it might be going through a lengthy Windows Update. If it stays like this for more than 24 hours then your going to need the system recovery media to repair Windows.you know I have about had it with Microsoft and it always breaking down. when will they get it tio work with Windows 10? is it better to download and learn Linux. How different is that than Windows since that is all that I have used ever? And will my system support it, does Chrome work with it, and I think if I change to that I am going to switch to Firefox. Opinions on this.Hi Taylor |
