Solve : Looking for an event calender...? |
Answer» HI, I am trying to find a desktop calender to suite my limited needs, but haven't been able to find one as YET. They're generally MEANT for an office environment, not for a single user with a short term memory. It needs to do only one thing, allow me to write a reminder note to a specific date and then show me this note at a specific time, prior to this date, say the day before. This could be a typical "pop-up" alert. It doesn't need to be fancy, just free, preferably. Any opinions? Any help will be appreciated.I use ReminderFox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1191 Works well...Thanks Broni, that one's great for online reminders. I found one called Hott Notes 4, like those little "STICKY" notes. It's so good, I'm actually thinking of donating to his cause, assuming Hott is a guy.http://www.veign.com/application.php?appid=102 If you would like to tie it in with your email and general calendar, Thunderbird and its Lightning add-on has the option for pop-ups or an email reminder for events and tasks. It can also be tied in with Google calendar if you are sharing or looking at other people's calendars. Google calendar works for me.....and alerts and NOTICES are sent via gmail in advanceI use this one... http://www.minireminder.com/nojs.htm Alan <>< http://www.felitec.com/mindful.html truenorth |

Solve : recovery media?? |
Answer» Hello, I just want to go over my contingency plan. I'm currently on a Toshiba Qosmio X505 Q870 and apparently they are no longer calling it a recovery disc creator, but a recovery media creator(this throws me off). I don't like subtle changes in the technical terms for things, because it only causes confusion and makes you wonder if it's actually what it once was called or something different(isn't it?). Most new computer(or all of them?MAJORITY) no longer come with recovery discs, and instead a hidden partition CONTAINING the necessary data is pre-installed. This is a lot of data, I guess not for now a-days with systems that can access 16 exa bytes and tera byte hard-drives being common I just didn't think I was gonna NEED DVDs let alone(if I don't want 4 or 5 DVDs) DL DVDs. I'm pretty young, but I remember having a computer with CD recovery disks lol. |

Solve : Can't Boot Of Secondary Hard Drive? |
Answer» i installed windows 7 on a 2nd hard drive from the 1st hard drive. which means me downloading a copy of windows 7 the making it into a virtual drive and installing it from my first hard drive to the second hard drive. You downloaded W7 from where? At a place where i can get it for freeRight - that's what we figured. Sorry, we can't help.Quote from: Geek-9pm on April 06, 2010, 11:36:44 AM Your first post is lacking some essential details. To save some time let me make a guess at which you might have done and how you should have done it. OK.. ill be more specific. first i installed windows 7 on the 1st hard drive i had from a USB because i don't have any CD/DVD drive and it worked. but after a while the OS began to slow down. so i decided to take my other hard drive and install windows 7 on there too so i did. all i did is download it from a website (not trial) which is an ISO. then i mounted it with virtual clone drive so i don't need to use a DVD drive and then i installed it on the 2nd hard drive. but i think the problem is that the boot files are written on the 1st hard drive. so when ever i remove the 1st hard drive and try to boot off the second hard drive the computer wont boot off of it. my question is how do i make it so the computer boots of the 2nd hard drive without having the 1st hard drive attached? thanks if you guys need my computer specs I'm going to provide it. Thanks againQuote from: Allan on April 06, 2010, 04:29:01 PM Right - that's what we figured. Sorry, we can't help. Which is mediafire.com coz i uploaded my copy on there so if i scratch the CD/DVD i wont have to buy a new one. and i don't like to waste space on my hard drive. but i have the serial though.Quote ut i think the problem is that the boot files are written on the 1st hard drive. so when ever i remove the 1st hard drive and try to boot off the second hard drive the computer wont boot off of it. my question is how do i make it so the computer boots of the 2nd hard drive without having the 1st hard drive attached? That is right. In a two-drive system only one drive is set as the boot drive. With a notable exception. If both drives were installed independently, each without the other PRESENT. the BIOS boot menu can be used. Too bad you do not have a DVD drive. If you did,m and if you had a proper copy of Windows 7, you can easily repair the installation by the recovery process in Windows 7 install DVD.. With a notable exception. If both drives were installed independently, each without the other present. the BIOS boot menu can be used. if i use windows recovery on a flash card is it possible to add a boot file in the 2nd hard drive?Topic Re-opened on request. I see the topic is still open. How to put full boot loader on a second Hard Drive. This discussion is specific to the official release to the official release of Microsoft Windows 7. This may or may not apply to the trial versions of Windows 7. The first step of course is to power down the computer completely and remove the first hard drive out of the system. Turn the power back on, go into the BIOS and make sure the drive that had been the second is now the only one in the system and it will be the default boot drive after the CD-ROM. Next, placed your Windows 7 DVD into your combo CD/DVD reader and reboot the system when you get the message to press any key and let the Windows 7 installer begin. At this POINT Windows 7 installer should realize you already have Windows 7 is installed on the only hard drive in the system. It will then attempt to repair or recover that installation. If it is successful you will then have a complete boot loader on the second drive, which is now the only drive. Unlike some versions of Linux, Windows 7 will allow the single drive to be either be the first or second in the physical hardware array. Logically Windows 7 sees the only drive as the boot drive. Reboot the system at least two times to make sure it is working normally. Then power down and put back in your first drive and configure the BIOS to your preferences for the boot order. The BIOS should have an alternate boot menu available to you. On some systems this is done by hitting F8 before the Windows loader starts. On others it might be the F12 key. See your documentation. With each hard drive having its own full boot loader, you should be able to boot either drive independently whether not the other is present. This this procedure requires use of the installation DVD in order to make a repair on the boot sector of the drive of interest. Now if sing a USB device as a DVD emulation that should also work. However, I have not tested a DVD EMULATOR with the Windows 7 installation DVD. We hope this is of some help to you. And by the way, there is some new information available about a trial version of Windows 7 that is available for some users. Quote from: Geek-9pm on April 07, 2010, 02:37:12 PM I see the topic is still open. Thank you... This make allot of sense. I'll try the put the windows installer on a USB and see if that will work out and report back if it worked or not.. Thanks for the reply's and sorry for all the misunderstanding |

Solve : Toshiba recovery CD stuck on "Applying Final Configuration" fix? |
Answer» I searched for a fix to this problem and couldn't find any posts that were resolved so here is my proposed fix. This METHOD was performed on a Toshiba Satellite A210 series, but I'm positive it will work on almost all models.
Step 2.) Check the Startup folder to verify B3.bat and Splash.exe don't exist there. If they do exist there then delete them. The Startup folder can be found easily by clicking on the Start Button (Vista is the color WHEEL of doom) in the bottom LEFT corner. Then click on All programs and look for the Startup folder. Step 3.) Reboot Step 4.) System Preparation Tool pops up. Don't change any options and RUN it as it is. It will do some cleanup and Sysprep whatnot and reboot the computer automatically again. Step 5.) Answer questions on a reboot such as Username, password, blah, blah. Done! I hope this helps at least one person out there! On a personal note I own a Toshiba running XP and have had nightmares with customizing it without using this recovery CD. It seems like Toshiba hardware is sound, but tech support and drivers seem like a distant afterthought. After experiencing this and having my own experience I've decided I won't be purchasing a Toshiba ever again.Quote from: Sn3akyP3t3 on April 07, 2010, 11:03:43 AM ...It seems like Toshiba hardware is sound, but tech support and drivers seem like a distant afterthought. Solve : MS Excel issue? |
Answer» We have a folder on a file server at my office that I am getting several complaints from people that the excel files this folder has in it are showing up as read-only. I checked the folder settings all the way down to the excel file itself and domain users are set to have modify PRIVILEGES on it. I even gave them Full Control to see if that would help but all the users are still getting the excel file showing as "read-only." I have checked a couple of the users' profiles to make sure it wasn't a permissions error and they had administrative RIGHTS to the PC. I really don't understand what could be causing this. The users that I have checked all are running MS Office 2003 and the file was created using Office 2007 but the users have the Offie 2007 compatibility pack installed and are able to view the file but not modify it. I'm not quite sure what to give you as far as PC specs since it's happening on a pretty wide range of PCS, but in general they are all running Pentium 4's, with at least a 40GB HDD, 1GB RAM, Windows XP Professional. All with SP3 and the latest updates. Any ideas? Thanks for any help. Also, I don't think it's an issue where someone has it open somewhere else because I checked several other excel files which they should have been able to modify but all of them were coming up as read-only.Are the files protected? Open one up with Excel and look under Tools---Protection. Also, I don't think it's an issue where someone has it open somewhere else because I checked several other excel files which they should have been able to modify but all of them were coming up as read-only.I think you need to examine this issue closer. Let's say one user has an Excel file open. Since that user is the only person to have it open, that person should be able to modify the file and should have gotten no notice about being limited to read-only when opening it. I believe any other users who open the file subsequent to the first user, while the file is still open by the first user, will get the notice about being limited to read-only. Do you agree with this? Yeah I definitely agree with that soybean, but there are certain excel files that are doing that that only 3 people have acces to: administrator, dept manager and assistant dept manager. The assistant dept manager wasn't here when I tested it, and I (administrator) didn't have it open under an administrative account, but I opened it on the dept manager's login and he got the read-only message. So at least with that file I don't think that is the issue. That could be a very possible issue with the other files but I am kind of thinking that if that many files are having this issue it's probably all tied to the same cause, but I could be wrong. I will definitely CHECK into that more as well. Thanks for all the suggestions! |

Solve : Hard drive with endless XP installation loop? |
Answer» I have a Dell Dimension 3000 running XP SP3 with 2 hard drives - C and D, with XP originally on the C drive. I acquired a number of trojans and after apparently getting rid of them I found that I could only boot my C drive in safe mode. Stupidly I thought that reinstalling XP would sort the problem. At first the installation seemed to go normally, up to the point where a restart was needed. I restarted and XP began to run. Then it stopped and said XP cannot run in safe mode- XP is restarting, which it did and now I have an endless loop start -stop-restart-stop ad infinitum. I have a second disk - D drive onto which I reinstalled XP. I found that I could then rescue the info from the C disk. Having gathered all I need I then tried to format the C disk but RECEIVED an error message saying that Windows cannot complete the operation. This is my last try before binning the disk. Any help you can offer gratefully received. |

Solve : is there software/utility to read/open windows file directory index?? |
Answer» hi XTree Gold is my file management tool of choice... firstly am using windows 7. I noticed how more powerful the search/index function is......i was hoping to look at the ''library'' of all these files as windows does while it searches. i imagine that windows keeps a 'catalog'/index of all files and their location on the computer. i had a FAILED hard disk and i just want to look at the names of those files from he dead hard-drive, but hopefully memorized/indexed/catalogued by windows)....some downloads....so that i can go about downloading/replacing the LOST data. How dead is this HDD ? ? Indexing service if it can be found won't help much here at all as it will ony be a data file listing files and sizes...not the actual files themselves. Have you hooked it up as a slave drive to see if you can retrieve the data ? ? Slave Drive Info...Quote from: patio on APRIL 01, 2010, 09:06:30 AM How dead is this HDD ? ? Actually, it has a LOT of information, but there is absolutely no way it can be parsed into anything useful. Most of it would probably be binary data stored from the various installed "IFilters" Word and OpenOffice(I think) both install IFilters and there are a lot of IFilter's implementations installed by default for several file types. each IFilter can store a chunk of data into the Windows Search Database (Indexing service in XP and 2000). This chunk of data is highly unlikely to be human readable or even in a recognizable data format, and is more then LIKELY a custom persistence format created by whoever authored that particular search filter. Either way, the location is off-limits to any administrator. the data is stored in the "System Volume Information" Folder of the drive: see What's the deal with the System Volume Information folder? However: even if you get access to it, there is no way you will be able to easily understand any of the data that is stored. In fact it's unlikely to even have paths stored at all; who knows how it stores it's indexing data. it might store it by folder; it might even compress the entire thing using a compression format, thereby making the entire thing unintelligible.Thanx for the clarification BC... Quote from: patio on April 01, 2010, 09:06:30 AM How dead is this HDD ? ? ummm...it is really dead.... cant it had an I/O error. have tried so many high level and low level softwares to recover it........i just cant get into it. tried hirens, erd, knoppix.....just cannot get into the disk..always returns a ''not responding to commands' error.Ahh, so you thought that windows stored the index data for, say, a USB drive or other drives, on the system drive. This is not the case; index information for files on a drive are stored on that drive. |

Solve : Microsoft Office Home and Business 2007???? |
Answer» I have Microsoft Office Home and Business 2007. My question is, I have tried to set up a standard email with an ATTACHMENT, and send it to different receipients many times. I tried some solutions some have given me and they didn't work. I was told I need Microsoft Outlook Express to do an email over and over again with an ATTACHMENT. Is that correct, if so I need to get it. Also, is there a way to fax with a laptop wireless? If so, can I buy a scanner and do it that way? Thanks.Quote from: joepinger on April 01, 2010, 08:34:19 AM I have Microsoft Office Home and Business 2007.There's no such VERSION of Office. I assume you mean Home and Student, which does not have Outlook, the email client. Quote I was told I need Microsoft Outlook Express to do an email over and over again with an ATTACHMENT.You're running WINDOWS Vista, right? So, you don't have, and can't INSTALL, Outlook Express. But, you have Windows MAIL. So, use it. Attachments are no problem. Any of the aforementioned email clients, Outlook Express, Outlook, and Windows Mail would apply to POP maill accounts, not a webmail account such as gmail, Yahoo! Mail, or Hotmail. Do you have a POP email account? Many people use a POP email account provided by their ISP. But, sending attachments via a webmail account should also be no problem. So, your question dosen't make a lot of sense. What type of email account are you currently using? |

Solve : Encrypting system files? |
Answer» Hi, I was just wondering if it is safe to use EFS on important system files such as system32 documents and executables. I just want to make sure it is safe to do so before I actually do it. Thanks.I wouldn't. First of all, what's the purpose? Second, if you ever LOSE the key you're completely out of luck. You can't encrypt system files. Since they will be encrypted with your account, the system files will be inaccessible to any other account, including administrator, Local Service, ETC. Making the computer entirely unbootable. You can't encrypt system files. Since they will be encrypted with your <current> account, the system files will be inaccessible to any other account, including administrator, Local Service, etc. Making the computer entirely unbootable. You know what, I'm embarrassed to admit I hadn't even thought of that.A lot of people recommend whole disk encryption for laptops, or any other hard drive that might fall into the wrong hands. I don’t know anything about EFS, but Truecrypt will encrypt your whole hard drive and make it inaccessible to anyone who doesn’t have the password. Once you boot up and log in the encryption is transparent and doesn’t affect the use of the drive. I had my laptop disk encrypted for a year or two before I upgraded to Windows 7. I just haven’t bothered to encrypt the new installation, but I probably will. It protects files you don’t usually think about like page files, hibernation, deleted and temp files. This is an important point right here. People refer to "protecting" their files. Protecting the files from what? I mean seriously, is there a band of thieves DEAD set at stealing all your Word documents or something? It just seems silly. In fact, EFS is far more likely to prevent the owner from accessing the file; especially if you use it on a removable drive. Like if you store your top secret letters to your nephew on a removable NTFS drive and encrypt them, and then forget about the drive, and reformat your OS... Now you cannot access the files at all. That IMO does not constitute protecting files. Files are not something that protecting. Secrets are what EFS is designed to protect. If there is nothing secret about what is in the file then it doesn't need protecting. Also (IMO) protecting a file is properly done by backing it up.Quote from: BC_Programmer on March 30, 2010, 08:09:24 PM +1We all live very different lives and use our computers for our own particular purposes. For gaming machines or HOME media PCs, security and encryption are not of much concern. But for PCs used as ‘electronic file cabinets’ security can be a major issue. I keep PDFs of all my bank and credit card statements, medical records, tax returns, wills, trusts, investments and other things that could be used to steal my money and identity. It is a matter of principle to protect these things from being compromised. Encryption is one of many steps I can take to reduce the risk of loss. Both laptops and external drives are at HIGHER than average risk of being lost or stolen in the course of daily life, so I agree with you that data backups are essential to good computer practice. But backups are to keep you from losing your data. Encryption is to keep other people from getting your data. That’s the difference. |

Solve : No RS232 support? |
Answer» FIRST, I appologize for this being so long-----I have a laptop I was given to use at work that is dual booted into Windows 98 and XP PROFESSIONAL. The Windows 98 is being used for the DOS architecture only. It is not a full operating system setup. I use this DOS for operating a data acquisition machine. However, this new laptop does not have an RS232 port for the DB9 adapter cable that is on the data machine. What I am TRYING to do is to use a USB CONVERSION cable as this laptop has many USB ports. I know I need a USB driver for this to work. I went to the adapter's webpage and downloaded the driver for Win98 (as there is no driver support for DOS). Here is my dilemna: being that Win98 is not a full operating system, the driver will not load. Is there some way I can manually place the driver in config.sys and autoexec.bat in the DOS architecture. I have tried many configurations that did not work. Unfortunately this data system has to run in DOS only.No. It would have to be a driver written specifically for DOS to work properly.Oh, also I went in and enabled the USB legacy support in the BIOS before making anymore chnages. How do I get a driver for USB then?. Search for DOD USB drivers. Why can't you do a full install of Win98 and just run thae external stuff in DOS mode ? ? Is there a reason your data acquisition can't be done in WinXP? Or is the DA software DOS based? Can you tell me more about the DA machine or system? I was a data acquisition and control design engineer for more years than I care to admit here. I knew this problem was coming and is probably beginning to hit hard now, since they have stopped making laptops with RS-232 ports and parallel ports. Most DA interfaces are still RS-232 and the equipment has lifetimes of 20-30 years. This is a noise data acquisition setup that has to run in DOS. I tried to use a FULLY installed WinXP with no luck. I don't know why the laptop did not come with all of the Win98 software. I did not set it up because it is a leased unit. But now I find myself with this dilemna.Belay my last!! (sorry military talk). This data acquisition is what is known as a General Purpose Data Acquisition System (GPDAS) and was orginally written as a DOS system. There is no Windows support. You could try an adapter like this. http://www.startech.com/item/ICUSB2321X-Professional-USB-to-RS-232-Serial-Adapter.aspxQuote from: alscrimp on March 31, 2010, 04:55:23 AM Belay my last!! (sorry military talk). This data acquisition is what is known as a General Purpose Data Acquisition System (GPDAS) and was orginally written as a DOS system. There is no Windows support.I DOS to USB all the time. That in itself is somewhat tricky but not difficult if you understand DOS, config.sys & autoexec.bat Unfortunately, you're not USB to USB, you're USB to USB to RS-232. There was a thread here, not too long ago about USB for DOS. Search this forum and Google the same. The adapter shown will require Windows, DOS support does not exist. If you can "force" it to work under DOS is unknown. You'll probably have to buy an adapter and attempt to make it work under DOS. I'd say dilemma is an understatement. |

Solve : Cant open a EXE File? |
Answer» When ever i try to open the exe file an error message come up saying: Un-install Internet Explorer security from Windows Components and reinstall it.What? What is different since the last time the system worked properly (new hw, sw, virus, error, etc)? With the little information you've provided my first guess would be malware. RUN full scans with both your anti virus utility AND MalwareBytes and REPORT back. |

Solve : MS Outlook "Reading Pane" has disappeared...? |
Answer» My MS Outlook (2003) reading pane has simply disappeared. I've TRIED to get it to come back by selecting "bottom" "RIGHT" or "off" under the options. I've tried restarting MS Outlook. I've even rebooted. No luck at all. Any other suggestions or possibilities as to where it might have gone? It doesn't appear to have been minimized or "hidden." I'm HONESTLY out of things to try. Any help is appreciated! No suggestions then? Darn it, it's really sad not having it. Really sad.Well, we certainly WANT to alleviate your sadness. I think this may apply to your situation: Outlook 2003 TAKES longer than expected to populate the preview pane when you receive an encrypted e-mail message |

Solve : Ms Excel Font Case? |
Answer» i want to know the shortcut key used for changing the font case in ms excel ? shift+f3 is used for such purpose in ms word but in excel its not working. i have 2007 version of office. it irritates alot when you have typed the (text) data & in the end you see that the font case is not correct. kindly help meYou have font controls on the Home ribbon. Why aren't you using them to set your font? I hate it when people ask for a specific answer and you suggest something different. rofl The short answer is no, but that's also the unhelpful answer - you haven't said what form the data takes, but if it is a database, the QUICKEST way to do it is to select all, copy, then paste into Word - use words format change case menu to fix the problem, then reverse the process to get it back to Excel. Excel itself doesn't have a title case function, so if this method doesn't work you would need to write a custom function which went through every cell in the workbook (or better, a given range) and carried out the appropriate formatting. I can write a suitable macro for you if this would help The simple way to change your text to uppercase or lowercase is to use the respective UPPER("text") and LOWER("text") functions of Excel. e.g. you have a text "hello" in cell A1 and you would like to change this to "HELLO". What you do is you click on the cell A1 and in the formula bar you write: =UPPER("HELLO"). If it's a lot of text then I would just copy/cut the text that is already in the cell and place it between =UPPER(""). That's what I know so far. What would be nice is to write a macro or VBA that reacts to the push of a shortcut key and does just that (LOWER("") and UPPER("") fuctions). ONE could do this. I don't know how to, yet. If there are any friendly programmers out there =P LOL, please write a neat little VBA script that fulfills this youngman's desires. Thanks! Treval Quote from: Treval on March 27, 2010, 01:32:06 PM I hate it when people ask for a specific answer and you suggest something different. roflWell, shucks now, my brain just focused on font and competely overlooked the word following it, i.e. case. Quote What would be nice is to write a macro or VBA that reacts to the push of a shortcut key and does just that (LOWER("") and UPPER("") fuctions). Here's a macro: Sub UpperCase() Dim Cell As Range For Each Cell In Selection.Cells If Cell.HasFormula = False Then Cell = UCase(Cell) End If Next End Sub It can be applied to a range of cells all at one TIME. Thanks and I hope the OP will be happy with it. =Pthnkx for your help. Upper & lower case in formula tab is a good idea. thank u verymuch. but there is another thing that how can i get the first letter of every word in selected text/cell in upper case ? again i will give the example of ms word that if you continue pressing shift+f3 then you will see the variation (all upper case, all lower case and first letter upper case). can i bring this thing from ms word in ms excel ? i am totally unaware of creating / using macro. is it possible to do that stuff in excel which is available in ms word ?Using the PROPER function in a formula such as =PROPER(A2) will do that. Quote an i bring this thing from ms word in ms excel ?I think that question is a bit over-simplified but the answer is basically no. KEEP in mind you're comparing a word processing program with a spreadsheet program. They are designed for different purposes. You're TALKING about program design to someone who is barely familiar with software. =PQuote from: Treval on March 28, 2010, 12:34:55 PM You're talking about program design to someone who is barely familiar with software. =POh, come on, now. My reply was not technically complex at all. What's complicated about: Quote from: soybean on March 28, 2010, 12:23:43 PM Keep in mind you're comparing a word processing program with a spreadsheet program. They are designed for different purposes.I think that's a point he needs to recognize and I don't know how it can be stated any simpler. 1. He could not know what you mean by 'processing words' 2. idem + 'spreadsheet' 3. idem + 'design of a program' Here's how I would say it: Keep in mind that Word and Excel don't do the same. =PPeople aren't stupid. they know what the word "designed" means. It's like.... you don't have to be an architect to know what people mean when they say what a building was designed for. Anyways, I wanted to post the "propercase" version of Soybeans macro: Code: [Select]Sub ProperCase() Dim Cell As Range For Each Cell In Selection.Cells If Cell.HasFormula = False Then Cell = StrConv(Cell,vbProperCase) End If Next End Sub No, I actually don't know what you mean by "this building was designed for". A building can have a function? O.o Aren't all buildings the same? So many million factors..Quote from: Treval on March 28, 2010, 09:45:04 PM No, I actually don't know what you mean by "this building was designed for". You don't design a department store the same way you design a two bedroom rancher.I don't know what a rancher is.. =P |

Solve : Office 07 Removeal? |
Answer» So I have both coppies of Office 07 installed on my Toshiba M45 laptop. Thing is that nether of them works which I kind of need for my classes. I have tried useing uninstall programs an a registry remover tool. It has XP Home SP 3 as the OSYour post makes no sense to me. Please start at the beginning and explain your problem.Quote from: Gin on March 28, 2010, 10:08:05 AM I have both coppies of Office 07 installed ...Where did you get these "coppies"? Please explain how you got into the situation where you have two installations of Office 07. Or, in other words, if you had Office 07 installed once, why did you install it again? One of the coppies is a home trial that I got from the MS site. The other is a copy of Pro that I installed off of a legal installation disk, thing is that I have been just useing it for trail useage CAUSE I dont really need to have a copy installed except for my one class. As it turns out though that I need it for my other classes. Do you see both editions of Office in your Add/Remove Programs panel? What "uninstall programs" did you use? What registry cleaner did you use? Thanks Soybean Yes, just tried that but it wont let me uninstall it. I THINK a remover tool from MS Quote from: soybean on March 28, 2010, 10:23:15 AM Do you see both editions of Office in your Add/Remove Programs panel?I SAID that I had, thing is that I cant uninstall them threw it. Currently right know I can only accept suggestions. It takes a while for the laptop to start for one an I'll be leaveing here soon. How many different machines are attempting to fix all at the same time here ? ?Approxiatly about four, but not all the same. One I am not at the location of the machines an Two this is stuff that I have been facing with for a good couple mths sadly. Three I just FINALLY thought of tring to get back on here a while ago an ask these matters.Quote from: Gin on March 28, 2010, 10:27:51 AM Yes, just tried that but it wont let me uninstall it. I think a remover tool from MS"it" is singular, I believe. Them would be plural. Anyway, this may be your solution: How to manually uninstall the 2007 Office system if you cannot uninstall it by using the "Add or Remove Programs" feature I stand corrected I did try shearching ms, but its a big a complex thing. In retro spec I suppose thats a thanks as wellQuote from: Gin on March 28, 2010, 12:26:16 PM I stand corrected I did try shearching ms, but its a big a complex thing. You've heard of Google, right? I got the MS link from Google, not by going to microsoft.com and then doing a search. I did, but I suppose what you PUT in varied from what I have. I have yet to try it, but I have something to go on know. Still Thanks |
