Answer» Does anybody here know how to insert a picture into packet tracer so that i can design and configure a network. I have a picture of an office and i need to insert it into packet tracer. I have managed to insert it as a BACKGROUND, but i can only place PC's and router on it in LOGICAL mode, but the only way you can manipulate the cabling is to insert the picture when in physical mode, but when in physical mode i can not place any PCS etc on to the image. 8353.	Solve : Windows Grep - binary vs. txt .html files?
Answer» I have a BATCH of simple 500-600 character .html files that I am trying to do a simple string replace on. The files are of the exact same structure, ETC., but Windows Grep reads some of them as text files and some as binary. This particular batch isn't "that" big, and it will be a lot of work, and I can manually change them, but for future reference, do you guys have any ideas why some of these files are being read as binary and others aren't. (Do File->Save As in Notepad and have a look at the "Encoding" selection box.) Check that your files are encoded in ANSI. Optionally, if you use a programmers' text EDITOR (e.g. PSPad) check that files are being saved with Windows line endings (CR/LF) rather than UNIX line endings (LF).

I just got Kingsoft Office Suite and it works good.

Of course, they will be able open it IF they have Microsoft Office installed or they have some other software such as OpenOffice that will recognize the .DOC format. Otherwise, they will not be able to open a .DOC file.

Answer» I reinstalled Windows XP and did all of the updates and patches on a Dell Optiplex 620. P4, 2.8ghz with 1gb ram, not a blazing machine, but good enough for the classroom. I installed Office 2007 using the administrator account and was able to create and open DOCUMENTS with it. The problem comes when I log into the computer using the school domain and a teachers account. I get 2503error and a reference to FIND the answers in PSS10r.chm. There is no problem logging in using an administrative account, but policy wont let me UPGRADE the teacher's account, she must REMAIN a Domain User. None of the solutions I have found online seem to work, including uninstalling and reinstalling Office. Other machines with the same specs work, what went wrong with this one? Any ideas? Answer» EARLIER this week I installed on my WIN7 PC ,” Geek Fonts for Christmas” from www.eztocreate.com/ as recommended in the “Kim Komando” news letter. The INSTALLATION was smooth and painless. Now, however, when I use Word from my MS Office suite 2007 I find that all is not well and healthy. The new fonts replaced all the regular fonts in Word and when I try to delete the new fonts I find that I cannot delete them,. Nothing shows up on the Control Panel, Uninstall program. The fonts do show up on the Control Panel, Appearance and Personalization program. I requested help from ez to create, but they have chosen not to reply. Taking the bull by the horns I completely uninstalled Office 2007 and then reinstalled Office 2007. The installation went well, but the odious Geek fonts are still in place and the original Office fonts are nowhere to be found. Please, offer a suggestion for getting the MS fonts back. You should see them plus all the other fonts you had before installing ”Geek Fonts for Christmas”. You can delete fonts from that panel. Still, when USING Office, all the fonts in Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Fonts should be available. Have you thoroughly looked through the list of fonts that appear in Office 2007 when you try to select a font?

There are two versions of Malwarebytes, Free and Not free!
I recommend to users only to download the free version and use that.

8358.	Solve : Looking for a program, to run four "windows open simultaneously"...?
Answer» as in 4 web cams.... four browsers etc...... I know you can open four, and size them down, but the aspect RATIO is screwed that way. Any Ideas, as to a program, or, a FIX to make the "scrunched" Browsers look proper?? Your question needs some clarification. Do you want to have, for EXAMPLE, 4 browser windows of approximately the same size all viewable on your monitor at one time? That would work, IF, each browser windows "display" was "aspect ratio" correct. Did i say that right? I can open four now, but of course, each only shows a partial view of the windows contents.... the idea we're trying to do, is sort of a "poor man"s video set up, like you see, in Casino security rooms, or at a Retail stores anti shoplifting dept.., he wants to be able to see either several web cam displays, and/or several different Browsers simultaneously.. but we don't have $$$ for some of the stuff I've seen for these big video board displays... "Champagne Project, BEER Budget"!! I looked at a program like "Dexpot".. but the 4 displays, are "dead" views.... I'd like that LOOK, but with ACTIVE windows... does that make sense?? Yes, that makes sense. However, I don't believe your usage of "aspect ratio" is correct. What you're really talking about is, in effect, making each of the 4 "windows" show what a single larger window would normally display. In other words, the effect would be to drastically increase resolution of your monitor so that, even with the 4 windows being displayed at the same time, you would still the same content that you would see in a single window at normal resolution. Of course, this means the content (text, graphics, etc.) in each window will appear much smaller. This raises the question, what size monitor are you using? Also, what OS are you running? Windows 7 has a nice feature called Snap which precisely splits a screen into two EQUAL sized windows. If you had two monitors, using the Snap feature may be more complicated but, according to http://superuser.com/questions/1093/how-to-control-windows-7-snap-feature-with-two-monitors, can be made to work on both monitors. If they all display within browser windows, possibly a web page containing four IFRAMEs would do the job - any web designer should be able to knock one up for you, with javascript-enabled browser window size detection etc.

hi everyone....

Rezan, more than likely you are having a problem because of copyright protections. You didn't say what you were recording, but if was off pay per view or even something like HBO, a lot of that has copyright protection.
rthompson80819 : im working in a hospital . we bought the dvr device from a company, we are recording surgerys . we had liver transplant surgery so we wanted to record the operation.so we recorded few test videos but cant play them back on pc,spoke with the company staff who CAME to connect the dvr machine with the operation device he said this dvr machine is new model ,till now we dont have enough info how to play videos back on pc.....

Answer» HELLO, i downloaded FROSTWIRE 5.2.9 earlier and after installing it onto a desktop i have been unable to open the app. i used the desktop icon and the "Launch Now" checkmark option in the final window of the installation process. both methods FAILED and both attempts displayed a mssg window suggesting i update my JAVA. Did that...3x. Yes uninstall that horrible antivirus. But be aware AVG continues to linger in your system!

Answer» Hi guys. Not sure if anyone can help me. I've never posted on here before but would appreciate any kind of help, you guys all seem so smart! My problem is, I run software on my PC to help me host software for a videogame. I'm wanting to run a command inside this software automatically, so I'd need a batch file to do this for me, I believe. Then I'll get task scheduler to automatically run this and restart my PC at night. What I can't seem to accomplish is getting a batch file to run a command in an already existing windows. Now there are two windows available. There's a java window which allows me to input commands (the command I'd like to input is simply "stop". This saves and shuts it down, avoiding corruption of the game map. The other windows is a command line windows, and can also be used in just the same way. It doesn't matter which the text is written into, so long as ONE of the windows has the text input to save and close the program. Then I'll LOOK into creating a batch file to restart the machine. I'm very, VERY new with command line. I've been trying to learn the best I can but I'm a little stuck now. Again, any help would be fantastic. Many thanks in advance.Hi! So it'll start the software . Now control will be taken over BY the started software, so the next line of the batchfile won't be reached until the game is exited. When the game/software is exited, THEN control will pass to the next line, the word STOP, which is what you want. END will just end the batchfile, or you could use RTS, which means Return To System. Most DOSes have a prog called EDLIN which wll let you create a batchfile while in DOS. Just type EDLIN from the C:\ prompt (root directory). Hope this helps, just remember the wording of the demo batchfile above is just for EXAMPLE purposes - I always have to pratt about with batchfiles to get them working with things so it is just to give you an idea, it prob. wont work straight off like that. POTENTIALLY with that you could create a batch to run it or even have it scheduled to run at a certain time (through Task Scheduler or something similar).

8382.	Solve : Probably old topic-no sound on reinstall?
Answer» Beg pardon but this is I hope a well worn topic with a well used fix. I just reinstalled XP Home on a DELL Dimension 8200 (yet again, an older unit and OS disc) and not only have no sound but the vid and sound cards (Nvidia/Santa Cruz) are not even recognized. I believe I am running through the intrinsic VGA and only the error beep comes out of the tower for any sound at all. I have read that XP comes with no sounds, but before the virus attack that preceeded this reinstall, the sound and vid card were being used with no problems. And no tool can steer me to drivers since the hardware is not seen. No sound or graphics DEVICES show up in dxdiag either. Would another reinstall probably fix this? Would a new copy of XP likely take care of things? I am really leaning toward the latter because I am getting worn out installing an OS so out of date that it takes two days to crawl my way up to the present. And no, I don't want to try stuffing W7 on this old thing, I do believe it would roll over and DIE. 1. go to RUN from your start button
2. in the field type command
3. A black popup window will appear
4. at the prompt (flashing | ) type in cd\
5. this will take you to your root directory for the c drive
6. At the c:\> prompt type bcdedit.exe /set nx OptOut
7. Close all open windows
8. Reboot your computer
9. Try to open your Office application again
10. Don’t freak out when you get that same “do you want
to run in safe mode?” Popup again.
11. ANSWER yes
12. If the application opens – close down office
13. reopen the office application again - it should now open
normally

Answer» Now that I have changed computers and am using Widows 7 64bit, I have been told that Sonic stage is not compatable. However, I have been able to load and run this program (Version 4.3 - the last INCARNATION I believe)up to a point. I had used it, on my old Windows XP computer to control and record to MINI-disc recorders, but in Windows 7 64bit it will only record to CDs. The reason for this is, I be live, the fact that the computer does not recognise the mini-disc drivers and therefore cannot "see" the device, which in turn means that the record to mini disc does not APPEAR as an option. If there is anyone out there who is able to solve this driver problem I WOULD be very grateful as I much prefer mini discs to the 3 digital players that are lying in a draw somewhere in the house. Incidentelly the version of Windows 7 64bit that I am using is not the Professional edition so I do not have access to XP modeTry CDBurnerXPro...FREE.

Answer» I have iTune and I whent into the Settings Tab and then Advanced Tab. I changed the iTunes Media Folder to a Folder I made on my Desktop. When I Rip Music from a CD am I right it will go into the new Media Folder I changed it to? Or how does this work befor I Rip anything?In iTunes under properties you specify a path for mp3's to go to. If I had my laptop with me, I'd show a screenshot. iTunes has a default path which saves it WITHIN USER profile under c:\documents and settings\username if XP or C:\users\username if Win 7 I changed my path to C:\Music and EVERY CD gets converted to mp3 and saved there.So the Path you can pick for your MP3s to go to when you Rip a CD is not the same thing as me changing the iTunes Media Folder then right?Most media softwares have this feature either to CONVERTING or ripping music files to change default location or folder. Have you atleast tried ripping after changing your default location?

Anything the boots from a CD helps eliminate Windows or HDD as the problem. EVEN the Windows Install CD.

Answer» I am using Excel 2007. I want to draw chart of data that is in dd:hh:mm:ss format. But when I add those cells to chart not is shown on it. I am using scatter/x,y chart.
