Hi: I just got a Canon camera and had to install software with it. The Software is called ImageMixer™ 3 SE Ver.6 Transfer UTILITY [Ver.6.0.1] &
ImageMixer™ 3 SE Ver.6 Video Tools [Ver.6.0.1]

At first I just had version 6.0. I went to the pixela site and found this download which it says: Fixed the problem that Windows® Explorer does not recognize a CD written by Windows® Explorer or "ZoomBrowser EX" using a computer in which "ImageMixer™ 3 SE Ver.6" is installed.

But actually, nothing is fixed. I can open most of the programs on those DISKS. But ONE of them, the one I really need to use, called disk editing, doesn't open. When I click on it, the entire application CLOSES and then I get one of those error messages that says: IMx Browser has encountered a a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience. That's in one of those blue Microsoft boxes. And then inside the box is Please tell Microsoft about this problem and you can choose to send or not send the error report.

I want to know what I can do to make this work. I've installed the program on two different computers, both of which use XP Service Pack 3. And I've installed the latest download for the Pixella software.
Can anyone tell me what I can do to make this work? I have to film something important tomorrow and I can't seem to get this thing going.

Hi everyone

I am helping an old couple who are running a private estate agency, they are using Framework III and Rimo for their book keeping, however both these programs are DOS based. Framework seems to work fine on a PC running WinXP but the machine running Rimo ( Win98) is fast giving up, i tried to run the program on a WinXP machine but gave configuration errors which i didn't understand then i organized a PC, Formatted the disk as FAT32 then installed Win98 but got some path errors and could not find the .BAT file.

Not sure if any of you out there know Rimo or a possible workaround to get it running under XP or Win98. The problem seems to be with some configuration and i can't figure it out what and where to change, i went into the Advanced properties of the program tried all sort of things but didn't help.

Any feedback will be much appreciated...

The unfortunate is that i didn't make screen shots of the errors but will send a few on my next trial.

Framework III is apparently an office suite, according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Framework_%28office_suite%29.

So, neither of the software you mentioned is accounting software, as far as I can tell. I think we need more info from you about how they used a computer for their bookkeeping. Hi Soybean

Thanks for your response, the Framework link from Wikipedia is correct but Rimo is extremely difficult to find links to. I believe the company must have closed down, the only links i could find to-date is this one http://www.rimo.ch/ and it is also not working. There is however i found this link http://www.wwimmo.ch/produkte which seems to be similar or an new version of this product. As far as i know the word "Buchhaltung" translated to english means Bookkeeping, of what i have seen from both these programs ,files are saved to floppy disks or printed directly. I must admit that i haven't used the programs in person but often sit with my CLIENT (who is 84 years old) who has been using these programs since the 80s. Again, perhaps it is a product once popular in Switzerland. As for Framework, i contacted them from the states and it was too expensive to get a new copy but they told me there are some FW3 to Word converters which i haven't looked into as Framework isn't that much a problem yet. If you have an FTP server where i can upload the files i could do that so you can get an idea of what i am talking about.

I am going to go in a different direction with my suggestion if you don't mind. Observation = it is commendable and rather unique that people of the age you state are still involved (actually involved period) with computers. However given that they are: my recommendation is that they avail themselves of one of the many free accounting software programs available on-line. I think this would in the end involve less hassle than trying to get old software running again when apparently little or no resources for it exist. Seeing that you are so kindly assisting them you could download it and learn it yourself then help them to learn to use it.
Toward that end i have researched on your behalf for some basic accounting free software and now provide a link that may be of interest and hopefully solve your problem.

truenorth One possibility is to run the program via Emulation/Virtualization; for EXAMPLE, if the program is a DOS application (which I would imagine it is) you could try DOSBox.

I have a very old version of Adobe Acrobat on my computer that I need to keep for the use of the distiller. I also have the latest version of adobe reader as the 5.0 won't open alot of the newer versions of files. I use that registry fix quite often when some malware has changed the default .exe to be run as something else. You don't know what you're talking about

So after redownloading it and it doing the same thing I noticed something....

It was saved as .rar or something.

So I changed it to .exe and it solved the problem.

I was going to get Skype to do video chat.

Then I saw on YouTube that after you create your User Name you can never change it.

ConvertXtoDVD is very good. I also have used it for some time now and have gotten great results.

I am using XP Home edition SP2. When I SELECT Distiller (Acrobat 5.0) from the printer options to make a PDF in WORD 97, the conversion STOPS half way through with an error msg that the document won't print. I installed the Acrobat update 5.0.5 and the result was WORD shutting down when I clicked on Distiller. If I click on the Adobe icon to make pdf the conversion works. I uninstalled Acrobat, restarted the computer, installed Acrobat 5.0 and the same result. Installed 5.0.5 and the same result

I know that Windows comes with a FIREWALL, which I have never really done anything with.

The firewall in XP does not provide outbound protection. Having SAID that, I've never used a 3rd party firewall on any system, regardless of the OS. But HEY, that's me.I'm with Allan on that ONE. In OUTLOOK I can insert a picture and ADD a link to it as WELL as add other text to the signature.

Hi everyone. I am trying to work out a WAY of being able to get detailed reports about sales etc when away from our business.

We RUN three epos terminals (touchcreen pcs running XP and pixelpos software). One is the server. Its a fairly large database with Maybe up to 30 fields (possibly more as I have only ever used reports produced by the pixelpos software), daily records go back around 6 years. I have thought of employing and excel expert to map the csv onto a spreadsheet that I would have on a laptop but cost put me off, as did the thought of only being able to use one other pc.

I'd love to have it on a back end to our website to be honest so I could log in and use it like google analytics!!! I fear this would be way too difficult! Could I maybe just use google spreadsheets??

There is a facility on the epos software (pixelpos) to automatically email reports and I think I could get all the info from I need from two of them, maybe once it is set up I could use these reports to keep it up to date??

Forgot to mention that there is indeed Internet access from epos machines and there is also a MAC on the network running iWork, don't know if any mac EXPERTS might think it easier to do in "numbers", or apple script.

I know there is probably a million ways of SETTING this up but I promise free food and beer to the person that can help me set this up!!! (business is a pub/restaurant!!)

I have a summary price list but want to drag info from a secondary work sheet (this sheet carries the calculations) for the summary prices. Prices must appear in the same row as the descriptions. Could this be something like a VLOOKUP function? Need more detail in what you want to do.

I am familiar with drag and drop! Yes the pages are in the same book. I need to calculate prices on the 'secondary page' and 'deliver' the total price to the correct description/line to the summary. Hope this helps

IIRC Excel allows you to refer to other sheets in formulae via a SheetName! type syntax; for example, if you want to include A6 from Sheet4 in a calc, you would use Sheet4!A6.

One thing to add. If you link two sheets together, which is easy and common, both files need to be always together on the same HD or medium.

First of all, the pagefile is not a folder. Hence the name "pagefile.sys".

As far as I know, no. Windows will continue to page, but it won't page using the hard disk. That is for someone else to clear up though.

It will save disk space on drive C: plus it's pretty pointless to have when you have 4GB or more RAM.

After looking at my preface, i see that misunderstanding may have happened due to pc being misspoken. It should read written to the ssd. or What about using a ram disc to decrease the number of writes to a ssd.

If i understand correctly, unless program specific, vmm maps the page or block to ram. It will also swap the page place from ram to disc and then back to ram, using methodology of some sort to do so.
If pagefile size is managed to 0, or is disabled, does it mean that nothing will be written to the drive, then if you run out of ram or a prog requires it, sys will prob. crash or prog not start or function properly?

I don't know if it is me or not, but I am finding WINDOWS Media to be not as user friendly as it had been prior to its "improvements". I would like a free music program that does pretty much the basics of organizing albums, and will rip and burn without going through a lot of drop down menus to find what you want, and does it in language you can UNDERSTAND. I FINALLY got Windows Media to rip an album but it didn't GIVE me a choice as to which songs I wanted ripped and then when I tried to get it to burn that album to a CD, it KEPT telling me to put in a CD which I did, about 10 times before I finally gave up.

Cursor over COMPUTER: SPECS for more info about my computer. The bug appears quite often, maybe 3-4 times a week or maybe more. The cursor can change in games, programs and almost everything. I think it happens only when I move it. Really strange..

Cuz my temperatures are fine.. my computer has something like a ventilation control system that controls the temperature by speeding up or down the fan. When I dont use my computer the fan almost stops, so the computer makes no sound If it matters.. and my mouse does that bug even when doing something really simple like moving it. I was able to download and view photos (all) without a problem, then about 5 or 6 weeks ago I couldn't get a photo to open in email. I get run window, then open, then allow to open. then nothing. and I can't find the photos anywhere on computer. also before I could download the attach photo (small) into PICTURES and then when I double clicked it would be big, not now now it stays the same as seen in the attachment line. thanks for any help.Which program are you using to download and view your photos?You have ANOTHER post about an email problem. I have a blackberry phone that I want to load AVI files on to it. When I try to load the FILE it shows up as a bad file. I want to know if I can get some new codecs for the phone or if I can re process the files so the phone will work with the files.

You may want to GO to one of the many blackberry forums.
AVI format is often USED in a number of WAYS. For a mobile device the pixel size must be reduced to a smaller size and rewritten in a suitable mobile format. And a audio format is also needed.
Format Factory is one of many Free programs that might work for you.

I recently bought a SanDisk Fuse media player. I had some mpg files I loaded on to it and none of them played. There were a few sample video files in the AVI format already on the player. I used Leawo to convert the files from mpg to AVI, loaded then on the player and only half of them played.

I down loaded Sansa Media Conversion from SanDisk, converted THERM again and they all played perfectly.

Maybe Blackberry has something similar.

I'm TRYING to install itunes and I get this message trying to install 32BIT:
"This itunes installer is intended for 32bit versions of WINDOWS please download the 64 bit itunes installer"

Then when I USE the 64bit it says its not a VALID Win32 application.

Don't KNOW if anyone has EXPERIENCE of Zone labs. A friend said that she has been using it for a couple of years and its way easier that other anti virus SOFTWARE but I thought it would be good to get more than one OPINION.

I set up a program on Excell to list all my DVD disks, giving each a number. I the past, if I wanted to find a movie alphabetically, I highlighted th listin column. In the toolbar ther were 2 ICONS showing "A/Z or Z/A" These icons have DISAPPEARED from the toolbar. How can I get them bak?RIGHT click an empty PART of the toolbar and see if the word "Standard" is checked.

TQNormally, is a PDB file an output in the form of a report or data file saved to the hard drive? Is a PDB file a TYPE of file you can normally open and print? it is a PDB file i downloaded from web site.I cannot open and view the file on my PC.So i thought if i can convert it into PDF file ,i can read read.I see. My daughter gets the same message when she turns on her Apple laptop.

I'm really a novice here when it comes to this, so I need some help. I am using Quintessential Music Player to organize & PLAY my MP3's. What I am trying to do is to simply copy my music (MP3's) over to a flash drive. I want to be able to do this directly from the QMP's song list instead of from the directory where they are stored on my computer. The reason for that is that when I LOOK at these music files which are stored under My Documents > My Music, half of my SONGS only show the song title, not the artist or the album title. I want all of that to show in my car when I'm playing them. IN QMP, when I look at it's songs list, everything about that song shows & I want the same thing on my flash drive. Can someone help me here?

Hi guys, HOPE I can get some help...

Everytime I put media into one of my drives, no matter if it's blank or not, it causes my pc to shut down and reboot! I've then got to take the disc out of the drive or the pc will continue to shut down and reboot constantly.

I've replace the power supply and put in new IDE cables but that solved nothing.

I've scanned and replaced as MANY drivers as I can too, but hey..nada.

My pc is also virus free.

I'm using windows xp sp3.

I know there's not a lot of info but if you need more I'll post it up.

Many thanks...Your'll probably find it's some uncompatible software your installed which is ATTEMPTING to launch on DVD auto-run.
Ensure you don't have funky DVD INTERFACE software like 'DVDdecrypter' installed.

Hold down 'shift' key while inserting a DVD (this should prevent any auto-run) - see if this works or not.

If it's an autorun issue, you will just have to clean out that overwrite on autorun.

If it's still doing it, might be a driver conflict?Does the same THING happen in safe mode?Hi.

I'm trying to start in safe mode but I'm having a little difficulty. I start the pc, hit the F8 key but on the screen that gives you the option to start in various modes by using the arrow keys to select an option, I hit the up arrow but nothing moves. I've then got to resrt my pc to start as normal! So, I can't answer that specific question.

When using a spreadsheet with a percentages column I attempted to ALTER a percentage from 5% to 4.75%. I deleted the 5% and INSERTED 4.75% but when I exited the column the figure AUTOMATICALLY reverted to 5%. After several attempts I gave up. How can I rectify this?There is a button beneath the Number Format tab called "Increase Decimal" or Decrease Decimal". If you increase the % number by one or two decimals it should give you the 4.75% you are seeking. You probably have it set to 0 so if you increase it once it should be ok.
