Answer» Elite proxy Switcher.....Hmmm Hi. I dont know much about proxies but wanted to try using one. some one here said to DOWNLOAD elite proxy server which i did. I scanned a heap of IPs in it, but most CAME up dead ( not working ) there was about 3 that were working, and they were level 1 highly annonymous ones. I selected on of the working ones and double clicked on it to activate it in elite proxy switcher.. once its activated i can no longer searh in google. if i try it just says Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage..... as SOON as i disable the proxy it WORKS fine....whats going on ? ? ? why is this happening....whats the point of using a proxy if you can no longer use the internet . Im confused, what am i doing wrong ? or is the elite proxy switcher programm thats the problem ? Im using vista by the way. pls help me solve this. thanks Jaswell this site seems VERY useless to get help .....!Just be patient. Answer» I am USING ms outlook as my OFFICE MAIL application.So I can check my mails only while I am in office.But I want check mails while I am at home also.Is there any solution for this?Can you access your mail via webmail, i.e. via web browser? That WOULD be a way to check mail at home - or anywhere, for that MATTER - and still leave it on the server so that you could download to Outlook at the office. Alternatively, just set your email client (Outlook Express, Outlook, Windows Mail, etc.) at home to leave messages on the server. That way, downloading messages at home will not delete them from the mail server and you'll still be able to retrieve your mail at the office.

4005.	Solve : Vista Mail not working?
Answer» I run Windows Vista on my computer and use Windows Mail. I have had no trouble with the mail program until recently(3 weeks). All of a sudden it started asking for a username and password when I opened the program and even then wouldn't open. It did open a couple of times, and allowed me to receive email once, but not send but it won't ALLOW me to send or receive email again. When I open the program it comes up with an error STATING something about Incoming-server POP3 protocol error. Would anyone have any idea what could be causing this, and what I might do as an alternative for email. I even installed Mozilla Thunderbird as an email program, but it does the same thing.Have you checked with your ISP to verify the settings for a POP mail account? Maybe they've made some change that you are not aware of. Have you made any CHANGES in anti-virus software or FIREWALL settings?

Answer» Visual Basic is pretty cool - It allowed me to created a macro that will open a specified worksheet, copy data from certain cells, and paste it into a different worksheet with the press of two keys. Is there a way to write it it so that the macro continues to open and copy from subsequent worksheets I,e. the next worksheet in the windows folder (which I have filed by date by the way) and pasting to the next cell in the destination worksheet? Or better yet open a worksheet a few down on the list in the windows folder? The first screen shot I've posted shows how my exisiting macro works; data (yellow) is cut from specified cells and pasted into the desired worksheet - So Long As Both The Source and The Destination Worksheets Are Open. I've highlighted in green the open worksheet. And then in the next screenshot I've highlighted the next file to be opened. I'm trying to get the macro to open the file, transfer data, open the next file, and copy and paste data into the next cell in the destination worksheet (in this case "2009 Bi-annual data"). If I could do this for a full months folder it could potentially save me over 300 key strokes per month - and the time is very valuable! The 3rd screenshot shows my macro in which I've copied the visual basic for opening the first worksheet - how would I make it open the next desired one? Is the file size of an xls file created this way the same as a new Excel file created via an open Excel window?

If I start Excel, create a new empty worksheet and save it, the size is 14 KB.

I believe Stinger needs to be on the Desktop to run...

4029.	Solve : Spybot vs PCTools Spyware Doctor conflicts??
Answer» Don't think l have a problem with viruses as everything (mbam,sas,hjt) all check clean. Am REALLY looking to see if anyone is running PCTools Spyware Doctor along with Spybot Search and Destroy. I download the latest Spybot updates every Wednesday, immunize the files, and their list of known bad sites is placed in the Hosts FILE. When viewing the host file, all is above board and the entries are entered in the correct format as they should be. I then RUN Spyware Doctor and it keeps coming up with the same number of infections each time, namely 841. So, using it's custom mode to find out where these are, they are all in the hosts file! I therefore get rid of these in Spyware Doctor, re-check the hosts file again, and 841 entries have been removed. It's as if the two programs are in total conflict. Spybot says to immunize all it's files and Spyware Doctor says 841 of them are infectious. Has anyone else noticed this problem and which program is right? Personally, I don't use either of those, and I don't even recommend them.I use Spybot, and it is safer than Spyware Doctor , but leave both active will be a wrong idea cause they will corrupt each other.PC tools is the POOR man's Norton. So forget it. Norton's products is getting better as the time comes on but other far superior apps that do same or similar functionality is already out. Malwarebyte Antimalwre or SUPERANTISPYWARE are good options to use, both recommended by Evilfantasy as I see from his link I found here on CH. Having windows defender on's probably fine, microsoft is consistently updating its detection library.

You may have a serious software license issue here. You may not have a valid software license for MS Office. How do you know someone else isn't using the same edition of Office that's INSTALLED on your computer? Any time you buy a used computer and do not get the original CD for software that's installed on it, you should be suspicious of the legitimacy of the license for that software.

4034.	Solve : Numbering Issues in MS Word 2003?
Answer» I'm having serious numbering ISSUES with MS Word (yeah, big surprise, huh?). I have my styles properly set up and I have a complex document I'm working on that has several numbered lists. I have two issues that regularly occur. 1.) I create a third (or fourth or fifth) list and when I try to restart numbering using the Format>Bullets and Numbering menu selection it changes the numbering for the list I am working on, but it makes the list immediately above (list 2 for example) renumber continuing the numbering from list 1. So let's say list 1 is 1,2,3 and list 2 is the same, when I do restart numbering on list 3 so it will also be 1,2,3 - then when I do that, list 2 suddenly renumbers 4,5,6. If it's a short document this doesn't seem to be a problem, but I work on longish documents 20+ pages usually and it gets to be an issue the longer the document gets. 2.) If the first problem doesn't GET me, then I have a different issue. Sometimes when I try to renumber the list, the Restart Numbering button is grayed out and I can't renumber at all. I've read all of the literature about how this setting overrides that setting and all of that mumbo-jumbo, but I don't understand how all that works and there has to be a simpler solution. I've been working around it by just CREATING new styles everytime I need a new numbered list, but that's just not good practice and I shouldn't have to do that.Have you tried reinstalling Word? When I entered the NUMBER into a TI-83 (after correcting the formula, which has an incorrect number of parentheses and an improper sine declaration), the answer was nowhere near what you got. ADMITTEDLY, I haven't worked with geometry in several years, so I'm a bit rusty, but I certainly know how to enter numbers into a calculator. I could be wrong, but this should be the proper way to write your formula in Excel: =sin(-1)(((10)(521^(-9)))/(.53^(-5))) By default, Excel is normally set to Degrees. If it is set to Radian, you can write the following: =degrees(sin(-1)(((10)(521^(-9)))/(.53^(-5)))) But that shouldn't be necessary. If you are getting the incorrect answer, the only thing I can suggest is to check your formula again. And for future record, I don't normally respond to PM's requesting help. I've ACTUALLY been away from the forums for nearly a month or two and yet I still receive a lot of messages from people asking me for help. For this reason, I created the form, then did a Mail Merge that had the data I NEEDED. When the merge was complete, all of my Text Form Fields had been deleted. The blanks are still there but the Text Form Fields are not. I would like to be able to lock the document so that they will not be able to type in the question areas but if I lock it without the text form fields, they can't type anything at all. I tried locking the document before I did the merge in a hope that it would keep the form fields there, but Word would not allow me to merge the document if it was LOCKED. I would really enjoy not having to go through 183 documents and add form fields in all the spots that got erased. I guess I could go through 183 copies of the same document and type the data by hand, but I am really HOPING there is a way to get mail merge to put my information in the document without removing my text form fields. Alright, well after a full day of searching, I finally found my own answer. 4050.	Solve : A few questions on size of things and submitting backgrounds?
Answer» A few questions I have- 1. The biggest thing I'm TRYING to figure out is a way to submit backgrounds for others to use for free. Only problems I keep running into and not sure if I'm also creating them correctly either. Problem is I RUN into the file being to big, and I'm not sure exactly the size I need to make it be? It says it needs to be under 50KB Currently the size of my picture is 960px x 720px How would I reduce the size? I've opened my .gif that I created using PowerPoint in Paint and if I go up to the top and click on Image and then attributes, it brings up an area where you can type in a width and height, and has measurements of units- inches, cm and pixels. Currently Pixels is marked. Anyways, what would I type in for the width and height so that it is the correct size? Also, is that the correct way to create backgrounds that you can submit, by using PowerPoint? Or could I use Microsoft Word and then save just the background out of Microsoft Word with no text or any writing. See, I know how in Microsoft Word to format the background, but not sure exactly what to do after that, how to just save the background itself somewhere that I could submit somewhere. Here are the dimensions so far of my image 960px x 720px Please tell me what exactly that computes to? 960Px*720 Px = 691,200 Pixels in the image. Each pixel is, since it's a GIF image, 256 Colours. that's 1 BYTE each, so: 691,200 bytes storage- which is 675KB. Of course GIF has LZW compression, but there is very little chance that 675KB image can be compressed to less then 50KB and still portray a useful image.
