An Incident of Chain Snatching

The other day I was going to market for shopping. I had worn a chain around my neck. It was looking like a golden chain. I was on my old scooter. Suddenly, a biker started driving his bike parallel to my scooter. My brother who was sitting behind me became cautious. The boy sitting behind the biker suddenly stretched his hand and snatched my chain. In the meanwhile, my brother picked the chainsnatcher’s hand powerfully. The chain was in the chain-snatcher’s hand. But he jerked my brother’s hand and drove away. I can’t forget this incident.

जंजीर तोड़ने वाली एक घटना

एक दिन मैं खरीददारी करने बाजार जा रहा था। मैंने गले में एक चेन पहन रखी थी। यह सोने की चेन जैसी लग रही थी। मैं अपने पुराने स्कूटर पर था। अचानक एक मोटरसाइकिल वाले ने मेरे स्कूटर के समानान्तर बाइक चलाना आरम्भ कर दिया। मेरा भाई जो मेरे पीछे बैठा था वह कुछ सचेत हो गया। बाइक के पीछे बैठे लड़के ने हाथ बढ़ाया और मेरी चेन तोड़ ली। इसी बीच, मेरे भाई ने जंजीर तोड़ने वाले का हाथ ताकत से पकड़ लिया। जंजीर, चेन तोड़ने वाले के हाथ में थी। किन्तु उसने मेरे भाई के हाथ को झटका दिया और भाग निकले। मैं इस घटना को नहीं भूल सकता।

A Train Accident

I was going to Delhi by a mail train. It was a dark and cold night. The train was running fast. Banskho is a very small station. A long goods train was standing there. The lines of the mail train was not changed. The result was a serious accident. The Mail train had run into the goods train. The engine and many bogies were over turned. Other bogies were derailed and fell down. Only the last two bogies were safe. Fortunately, I was in the last bogie. We came out. We thanked God. After sometime, some villagers came there. They informed the authorities. The injured were taken to nearby hospitals. Arrangements were made for the dead bodies. Alternate arrangements were made for the standed passengers. The railway authorities announced an exgratia help of 5 lac rupees to the nearest kin of the dead and free of cost treatment of the injured. Thus, it was a heart rending accident.

एक ट्रेन दुर्घटना

मैं मेल-ट्रेन से दिल्ली जा रहा था। यह अंधेरी एवं बहुत ठण्डी रात्रि थी। ट्रेन तेजी से जा रही थी। बांसखो एक छोटा-सा स्टेशन है। एक मालगाड़ी वहाँ पहले से खड़ी थी। मेल ट्रेन की पटरियों को बदला नहीं गया था। इसका परिणाम एक गंभीर दुर्घटना थी। मेल-ट्रेन उस मालगाड़ी में घुस गई अर्थात् जोर से टकरा गई। इसका इंजन व कई डिब्बे उल्टे हो गये। अन्य डिब्बे पटरी से उतर गये थे और नीचे गिर पड़े। केवल अन्तिम दो डिब्बे सुरक्षित रहे। सौभाग्य से मैं अन्तिम डिब्बे में था। हम बाहर आये । हमने ईश्वर को धन्यवाद दिया। थोड़े समय के बाद कुछ ग्रामीण भी वहाँ आ गये। ग्रामीणों ने अधिकारियों को सूचित किया। घायलों को नजदीकी अस्पताल ले जाया गया। शवों के लिए व्यवस्था की गई। असहाय यात्रियों के लिए वैकल्पिक व्यवस्था की गई। रेलवे प्राधिकारियों ने मृतक के परिजन को 5 लाख रुपये देने की व घायलों का इलाज निःशुल्क होने की घोषणा की। अतः यह एक हृदयविदारक दुर्घटना थी।

How I Prevented A Train Accident

Last Sunday I was going to my village on foot. I was going along the railway lines. I saw that some stones were lying on the railway lines. The stones were heavy. I tried to remove them, but I could not. I saw that a train was coming at a long distance. I failed to understand what to do. By chance I was in a red shirt. I took off my shirt. I took my red-shirt in my hands and ran fast towards the train. The driver saw this. He applied brakes. The train was running fast but stopped about ten metres away from the stones. It saved the train from an accident. The driver, the guard and many passengers came to me. I was panting. They appreciated my act very much.

मैंने एक रेलगाड़ी की दुर्घटना कैसे रोकी

गत रविवार, मैं पैदल ही अपने गाँव जा रहा था। मैं रेलवे लाइन के सहारे जा रहा था। मैंने देखा कि कुछ पत्थर रेलवे लाइन पर रखे हुए थे। पत्थर भारी थे। मैंने, उन्हें हटाने का प्रयास किया किन्तु मैं नहीं हटा सका। मैंने देखा कि दूर से गाड़ी आ रही थी। मेरी समझ में नहीं आया कि क्या करूं। संयोग से मैं लाल शर्ट में था। मैंने शर्ट उतारी। मैंने लाल शर्ट अपने हाथ में ली और गाड़ी की तरफ तीव्र गति से दौड़ा। चालक ने इसे देखा। उसने ब्रेक लगाये। गाड़ी तीव्र गति से दौड़ रही थी किन्तु पत्थरों से 10 मीटर पहले ही रुक गई। इससे गाड़ी दुर्घटना से बच गई। चालक, गार्ड व बहुत सारे यात्री मेरे पास आये। मैं हाँफ रहा था। उन्होंने मेरे कार्य की बहुत प्रशंसा की।

A Bus Fell into a River

Last Sunday I went for a picnic with my friends. While I was returning home, I saw a bus fell into a river. There was a narrow bridge over the river. A bus was coming fast. It was full of passengers. The driver lost the balance and the bus fell into the river. Some passengers were drowned in the river. All were crying for help them. Many villagers gathered there. They threw ropes into the river and pulled out the drowning passengers. Some boatmen also helped. We informed the police. After sometime some policemen, doctors and nurses came there. They gave first-aid to the injured passengers. Seriously injured persons were taken to hospital in the ambulance. The police arrested the bus driver. I cannot forget this bus accident in my life.

एक बस नदी में गिर गई

गत रविवार को मैं अपने मित्रों के साथ पिकनिक पर गया। जब मैं घर लौट रहा था तो मैंने देखा कि एक बस नदी में गिर गई। नदी के ऊपर एक संकरा पुल था। एक बस तेजी से आ रही थी । यह यात्रियों से भरी हुई थी। बस-चालक ने सन्तुलन खो दिया और बस नदी में गिर गई। कुछ यात्री डूब गये। सभी सहायता के लिए चिल्ला रहे थे। वहाँ अनेक ग्रामीण एकत्र हो गये। उन्होंने नदी में रस्सियाँ फेंकीं और डूबते हुए यात्रियों को खींच कर बाहर निकाला। कुछ नाविकों ने भी उनकी सहायता की। हमने पुलिस को सूचित किया। थोड़े समय के पश्चात् कुछ पुलिसमैन, डॉक्टर और नर्से वहाँ पर आई। उन्होंने घायलों का प्राथमिक उपचार किया । गम्भीर घायल व्यक्तियों को रोगी-वाहन द्वारा अस्पताल ले जाया गया। पुलिस ने बस-चालक को गिरफ्तार कर लिया। मैं इस बस-दुर्घटना को अपने जीवन में कभी नहीं भूल सकता।

Birthday is an important day in the life of everyone. It is a great occasion. A person always remembers his birthday. He eagerly waits for its arrival. So it is also an important day in my life. I celebrate my birthday on 28th April every year. I invite my friends. My parents clean and decorate the hall. A table is placed in the middle of the hall. A birthday cake is put on it. The candles numbering the years of my age are lighted around the birthday cake. My relatives also come to join the function. I cut the cake and there is clapping all around. Everyone wishes me ‘Happy Birthday’. My friends sing songs and dance. I get many gifts. It is an important and memorable day in my life. I enjoy it every year.

किसी भी मनुष्य के जीवन में उसका जन्म-दिवस एक महत्त्वपूर्ण दिवस होता है। यह एक महान् अवसर होता है। व्यक्ति अपने जन्म-दिवस को सदैव याद रखता है। वह उसके आगमन की बड़ी उत्सुकता से प्रतीक्षा करता है। इसलिए मेरे जीवन में भी यह एक महत्त्वपूर्ण दिवस है। मैं प्रतिवर्ष 20 अप्रैल को अपना जन्म-दिवस मनाती हूँ। मैं अपने मित्रों तथा सखियों को आमन्त्रित करती हूँ। मेरे माता-पिता हाल को साफ करते तथा उसको सजाते हैं। हाल के बीचों-बीच एक मेज लगाई जाती है। उस पर जन्म-दिवस केक रखा। जाता है। मेरी उम्र की वर्षों की गिनती की मोमबत्तियाँ जन्म-दिवस केक के चारों ओर जलाई जाती हैं। मेरे रिश्तेदार भी उत्सव में सम्मिलित होने के लिये आते हैं। मैं केक काटती हूँ और वहाँ चारों ओर से तालियाँ बजने लगती हैं। प्रत्येक मुझे मेरे जन्म-दिवस की शुभकामनायें देता है। मेरे मित्र तथा सखियाँ गाने गाते हैं। और नाचते हैं। मुझे बहुत से उपहार मिलते हैं। यह मेरे जीवन का एक महत्त्वपूर्ण तथा स्मरणीय दिवस है। मैं प्रतिवर्ष इसका आनन्द लेती हूँ।

A Road Accident

The other day, I was going from Jaipur to Kota via Tonk by a Roadways Delux bus. I saw a jeep overloaded with passengers crossed the bus in which I was travelling. After a while, I saw that the jeep rammed into a truck. The bus-driver halted the bus near the accident site. I, with other passengers, alighted from the bus. What a heart-rending scene it was! The life had converted into dead bodies. Not a single was alive. Body organs were lying here and there. Hot blood was flowing. The road had become red with blood. The bus driver informed the nearby police station. The police immediately reached there. They registered the statements of the witnesses. After all formalities, the dead bodies were taken to Tonk for postmortem and then to hand over to the kinsmen. Thus, road accidents are dangerous.

एक सड़क दुर्घटना

एक दिन मैं जयपुर से कोटा, टोंक होते हुए, रोडवेज की डीलक्स बस से जा रहा था। मैंने देखा कि यात्रियों से भरी हुई एक जीप ने हमारी बस को ओवरटेक किया। कुछ समय उपरान्त, मैंने देखा कि जीप एक ट्रक को टक्कर मारती हुई उसमें घुस गई। हमारी बस के ड्राईवर ने बस को दुर्घटना-स्थल के पास रोका। मैं, अन्य यात्रियों के साथ, बस से नीचे उतरा। यह बड़ा ही हृदय विदारक दृश्य था। जीवन, लाशों में परिवर्तित हो चुका था। एक भी जीवित नहीं बचा था। शरीर के अंग इधर-उधर बिखरे पड़े थे। गर्म रक्त बह रहा था। सड़क रक्त से लाल हो गई थी। हमारी बस के चालक ने नजदीक के पुलिस थाने को सूचित किया। पुलिस तुरन्त वहाँ पहुँची। उन्होंने गवाहों के बयान दर्ज किये । सभी औपचारिकताओं के उपरान्त, शवों को शव परीक्षण के लिए टोंक लाया गया और उन्हें उनके रिश्तेदारों को सौंपने के लिए रखा गया। अतः सड़क दुर्घटनाएँ खतरनाक हैं।

A Visit to A Book Exhibition

Last Sunday I went with my friends to see a book-exhibition in my town. We reached there. There was a long queue before the booking window. We purchased tickets and entered the exhibition ground. There were many stalls. Many publishers of repute participated. Books almost on all subjects were displayed. There was a separate section for children’s books. A special discount of 20% was allowed on books for the students. There were some other stalls. They were selling toys, CDs, fancy goods and so many `things. There were rush on every stall. There were games of tricks and skill. At some other stalls tea, sweets, chat and other eatables were being sold. There was a merry-go-round. I purchased some books. Now we were getting late, so we came back to our houses. I was very happy.

एक पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी देखने जाना

पिछले रविवार को मैं अपने मित्रों के साथ अपने कस्बे में पुस्तक प्रदर्शनी देखने गया। हम वहाँ पहुँचे। टिकिट (टिकट) खिड़की के सामने लम्बी कतार थी। हमने टिकट खरीदे और प्रदर्शनी के मैदान में प्रवेश किया। वहाँ कई दुकानें थीं। कई प्रतिष्ठित प्रकाशकों ने हिस्सा लिया था। लगभग सभी विषयों पर पुस्तकें प्रदर्शित की गई थीं। बच्चों की पुस्तकों का एक पृथक् विभाग था। विद्यार्थियों के लिए पुस्तकों की खरीद पर 20 प्रतिशत की विशेष छूट प्रदान की जा रही थी। वहाँ कुछ अन्य दुकानें थीं। उन पर खिलौने, सीडी, फेन्सी सामान व अनेक वस्तुएँ बेची जा रही थीं। प्रत्येक दुकान पर भीड़ थी। वहाँ चतुराई और दक्षता के कुछ खेल थे। कुछ स्टालों (दुकानों) पर चाय, मिठाई, चाट और अन्य खाने योग्य सामान बेचे जा रहे थे। वहाँ एक चकरी झूला था। मैंने कुछ पुस्तकें खरीदीं। अब हमें देरी हो रही थी, इसलिए हम घर लौट आये। मैं बहुत खुश था।

The Independence Day Function

The Independence Day is a very important day in the history of India. She got freedom on this day. We reached the school at 7 a.m. The Principal of our school unfurled the national flag. It was waving in air. We have proud of it. All sang the national anthem. Some students recited poems. Some other delivered speeches. Some teachers also delivered speeches. There were cultural programmes of dance and drama. The viewers enjoyed these much. In the end, the Principal delivered a speech. He told us about the duties of the students. He remembered Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Nehru and Indira Gandhi. Then, sweets were distributed. We were very happy.

स्वतन्त्रता दिवस उत्सव

भारत के इतिहास में स्वतन्त्रता दिवस अत्यन्त महत्त्वपूर्ण है। इस दिन यह आजाद हुआ था। हम प्रातः सात बजे स्कूल पहुँचे। स्कूल के प्रिंसिपल ने झण्डारोहण किया। यह हवा में लहरा रहा था। हमें गर्व हुआ। सबने राष्ट्रीय गान गाया। कुछ विद्यार्थियों ने कविता पाठ किया। कुछ विद्यार्थियों ने भाषण दिए। कुछ अध्यापकों ने भी भाषण दिए। वहाँ नृत्य एवं नाट्य के सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम भी हुए। दर्शकों ने इनका खूब आनन्द उठाया। अन्त में प्रधानाचार्य ने भाषण दिया। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों के कर्तव्यों के विषय में बतलाया। उन्होंने महात्मा गाँधी, पंडित नेहरू तथा इन्दिरा गाँधी के विषय में बताया। तत्पश्चात्, मिठाइयों का वितरण किया गया। हम सब अति प्रसन्न थे।

Last Friday we celebrated “The Annual Day Function’ in our school. The function was at 4 p.m. The school-hall was decorated with coloured paper-flags and balloons. We reached the school at 3.30 p.m. The Principal, the teachers and the students were in fine dresses. There was a big gathering. The Collector was the chief-guest. The Principal and two teachers were waiting for him at the gate of the school. He came at 4 p.m. The Principal took him into the hall. The students clapped for some time. The Collector smiled, looked around and took his seat. The Principal welcomed and garlanded him. Four students sang a welcome-song. The Principal read out the report of the school. The Collector made a speech. Then, he gave away the prizes to the prize-winners one by one. The function ended with the national anthem.

गत शुक्रवार को हमने अपने स्कूल में वार्षिक दिवस समारोह मनाया। यह समारोह शाम 4 बजे था। स्कूल के हॉल को रंगीन कागज, फर्रियों और गुब्बारों से सजाया गया। हम स्कूल 3.30 बजे पहुँचे। प्रिंसिपल, विद्यार्थी तथा अध्यापक सुन्दर वस्त्रों में थे। वहाँ बहुत भीड़ थी। कलक्टर मुख्य अतिथि थे। प्रिंसिपल तथा दो अध्यापक स्कूल के दरवाजे पर उनकी प्रतीक्षा कर रहे थे। वह 4 बजे आये। प्रिंसिपल उनको हॉल में लाये । विद्यार्थियों ने थोड़ी देर तालियाँ बजाईं। कलक्टर मुस्कुराये, चारों ओर देखा और अपनी सीट पर बैठ गये। प्रिंसिपल ने उनका स्वागत किया तथा (फूलों की) माला पहनाई। चार विद्यार्थियों ने एक स्वागत-गान गाया। प्रिंसिपल ने स्कूल का प्रतिवेदन (रिपोर्ट) पढ़ा। कलक्टर ने एक भाषण दिया। फिर, उन्होंने इनाम प्राप्त करने वालों को एक-एक करके इनाम दिया। यह समारोह राष्ट्रीय गीत के साथ समाप्त हुआ।

The First Day of My Annual Examination

Annual examination is the stepping-stone to the next class. In March, 2016 I appeared at the Secondary Examination. I reached the school in time. Many students were standing here and there. There was a seating-chart on the noticeboard. We found out our seats. A bell rang. Two teachers came. They distributed the answer-books to the students. We carefully made entries on the first page. After some time again a bell rang. The teachers distributed the question-papers. We began to write answers. The teachers were taking rounds in the room. There was complete peace. Every student was doing his work. When the time was over, we stopped writing. The invigilators collected the answer-books. The students came out of the classes. We talked about the question-paper. Then we came home.

मेरी वार्षिक-परीक्षा का प्रथम दिवस

अगली कक्षा में जाने के लिए वार्षिक परीक्षा एक सोपान है। मार्च, 2016 में मैंने सैकण्डरी परीक्षा दी। मैं ठीक समय पर स्कूल पहुँचा। अनेक विद्यार्थी इधर-उधर खड़े हुए थे। नोटिस-बोर्ड पर सिटिंग-चार्ट लगा हुआ था। हमने अपनी सीटें तलाश कीं। एक घण्टी बजी। दो अध्यापक आये। उन्होंने विद्यार्थियों को उत्तरपुस्तिकाएँ वितरित कीं। हमने प्रथम पृष्ठ पर सावधानीपूर्वक प्रविष्टियाँ कीं। थोड़ी देर पश्चात् पुनः एक घण्टी बजी। अध्यापकों ने प्रश्न-पत्र वितरित किए। हमने उत्तर लिखने आरम्भ कर दिए। अध्यापक कमरे में चक्कर लगा रहे थे। पूरी शान्ति थी। प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी अपना कार्य कर रहा था। जब समय समाप्त हो गया तो हमने लिखना बन्द कर दिया। वीक्षकों ने उत्तर-पुस्तिकाएँ एकत्रित कीं। विद्यार्थी कक्षाओं से बाहर आ गये। हमने प्रश्न-पत्र के विषय में बातें कीं। फिर हम घर आ गये।

A Farewell Party

Last month our headmaster Shri Sharma was transferred to Ajmer. We arranged a farewell party in his honour. We collected Rs. 10 from each student and Rs. 50 from each teacher. We purchased a coloured TV set, a clock, a shawl and a beautiful pen set to present him. The function was started at 3 p.m. Many teachers and the students offered garlands to the headmaster. Many students touched his feet. Then there were speeches. Many students and the teachers delivered speeches. In the end the headmaster also delivered a speech. He thanked for the co-operation given and respect shown to him. We gave him the gifts. The headmaster was very happy. We served light refreshment and tea to the headmaster, the teachers and the students. The function was over.

विदाई पार्टी

गत माह हमारे प्रधानाध्यापक श्री शर्मा का स्थानान्तरण अजमेर हो गया। हमने उनके सम्मान में एक विदाई-पार्टी की व्यवस्था की। हमने प्रत्येक विद्यार्थी से दस रुपये तथा प्रत्येक अध्यापक से पचास-पचास रुपये एकत्रित किए। हमने प्रधानाध्यापकजी को उपहार देने के लिए एक रंगीन टी.वी., एक दीवार घड़ी, एक शॉल तथा एक सुन्दर पैन-सैट खरीदा। समारोह 3 बजे आरम्भ हुआ। अनेक अध्यापकों एवं विद्यार्थियों ने प्रधानाध्यापक को मालाएँ पहनाई। अनेक विद्यार्थियों ने उनके चरण-स्पर्श किए। फिर वहाँ भाषण हुए। अनेक विद्यार्थियों और अध्यापकों ने भाषण दिए। अन्त में प्रधानाध्यापकजी ने भी एक भाषण दिया। उनको प्रदान किए गये सहयोग तथा प्रदर्शित किए गये सम्मान के लिए उन्होंने धन्यवाद दिया। हमने उन्हें उपहार दिए। प्रधानाध्यापकजी बहुत प्रसन्न हुए। हमने प्रधानाध्यापक, अध्यापकों एवं विद्यार्थियों को हल्का नाश्ता और चाय दिया। समारोह समाप्त हो गया।

Solar Eclipse

The recent solar eclipse made a news throughout the country for many reasons. It was a total solar eclipse in India. Elaborate arrangements were made by the Planetarium authorities at Jaipur to observe the eclipse. I was one of the lucky few who could avail of this rare but exciting opportunity. The eclipse began exactly at 9.00 a.m. on 18th morning. Gradually, the ball of fire was consumed by the eclipse. By 9.40 a.m. the eclipse was total. It got quite dark. Even the birds started chirping. They returned to their nests. They thought it was evening time. I could see all the phases and stages of the eclipse. It was such a rare and rewarding historical experience.

सूर्य ग्रहण

हाल ही के सूर्य ग्रहण ने कई कारणों से पूरे देश में समाचार में महत्ता प्राप्त की। भारत में यह पूर्ण सूर्य ग्रहण था। ग्रहण को देखने के लिए जयपुर में वेधशाला ने विस्तृत इंतजाम किये थे। मैं उन सौभाग्यशालियों में से एक था जिन्हें यह दुर्लभ व उत्तेजक अवसर मिल सका। ग्रहण 18 तारीख को सुबह ठीक 9 बजे आरंभ हुआ। धीरे-धीरे आग की गेंद को ग्रहण द्वारा अदृश्य कर दिया गया। 9.40 पर ग्रहण पूर्ण हो गया था। बिल्कुल अंधेरा हो गया था। पक्षी चहचहाने लगे थे। वे घोंसलों में लौट आये। उन्होंने सोचा कि यह सायंकाल था। मैं ग्रहण के सभी फेज व स्थितियाँ देख सका। यह एक दुर्लभ व लाभदायक ऐतिहासिक अवसर था।

A Village Fair

I live in a village. Last Friday I went to see the fair of Baba Ramdeoji. I went there with my friends. Hundreds of men, women and children were there. They were in fine clothes. People were going and coming here and there in groups. Some women were singing songs. There were many beggars also. They were begging. There were some scouts and policemen to help the people. There were many stalls. They were selling toys, bangles, rings, ear-rings, combs, clothes, balloons and many other things. There were some stalls selling sweets, namkin and tea. We were also enjoying the fair. We went into the temple. There was a long queue of people. We also stood in the queue. After some time we had ‘darshan’ of Baba. Then, we came back to our houses. I can’t forget this festival.

मैं एक गाँव में रहता हूँ। पिछले शुक्रवार को मैं बाबा रामदेवजी का मेला देखने गया। मैं वहाँ अपने मित्रों के साथ गया। वहाँ सैकड़ों मनुष्य, स्त्रियाँ एवं बच्चे थे। वे सुन्दर वस्त्रों में थे। लोग समूहों में इधर-उधर आ-जा रहे थे। कुछ स्त्रियाँ गाने गा रही थीं। वहाँ अनेक भिखारी भी थे। वे भीख माँग रहे थे। लोगों की सहायता करने के लिए कुछ स्काउट्स तथा पुलिसमैन भी थे। वहाँ अनेक स्टाल थे। वे खिलौने, चूड़ियाँ, अंगूठियाँ, कानों के बाले, कंघे, कपड़े, गुब्बारे एवं अन्य अनेक वस्तुएँ बेच रहे थे। कुछ स्टाल मिठाइयाँ, नमकीन एवं चाय भी बेच रहे थे। हम मेले का आनन्द ले रहे थे। हम मन्दिर में गये। वहाँ लोगों की लम्बी कतार (लाइन) थी। हम भी कतार में खड़े हो गये। थोड़े समय पश्चात्, हमने बाबा के दर्शन किए। फिर, हम अपने घर वापस आ गये। मैं इस मेले को भूल नहीं सकता।

My New House

My father has bought a new house for us. There is a small lawn in front of the main building. There are a few fruit trees and some flower beds. There are three rooms, two store-rooms, one kitchen, one bathroom and one toilet. All the rooms are airy and well ventilated. The doors and windows are well polished. We use one room as the drawing room, one as the dining room and the third one as the bedroom. One of the store rooms is well ventilated and I use it as study room. There is an almirah in it. I keep my books etc. in it. We like our new house very much.

मेरा नया मकान

हमारे पिताजी ने हमारे लिए एक नया मकान खरीदा। मुख्य भवन के सामने घास का एक छोटा-सा मैदान है। वहाँ फलों के कुछ पेड़ के फूलों की क्यारियाँ हैं । वहाँ तीन कमरे, दो भण्डार-गृह, एक रसोई, एक स्नान-घर तथा एक प्रसाधन-कक्ष है। सभी कमरे हवादार हैं । दरवाजे और खिड़कियों पर अच्छी पॉलिश है। हम एक कमरे को स्वागतकक्ष, दूसरे कमरे को भोजन-कक्ष तथा तीसरे कमरे को शयन-कक्ष के रूप में उपयोग करते हैं। भण्डार-गृह पूर्ण वातायनयुक्त है और मैं उसका अध्ययन-कक्ष के रूप में उपयोग करता हूँ। उसमें एक आलमारी है। इसमें मैं अपनी पुस्तकें इत्यादि रखता हूँ। हम अपने नये घर को बहुत पसन्द करते हैं।

A Rainy Day

A rainy day is a day of hustle-bustle for the beings of this blue planet. Territorial and aquatic beings swing into action. The weather becomes pleasant. People go for outing for fun and frolic. Faces of farmers glow if the rain is favourable or become gloomy if it is otherwise. Passengers may find themselves stranded if a rail or road bridge collapse. Birds too, enjoy their flights of unlimited sky. Animals also come out of their hiding places and enjoys the pleasant weather. Deers hop high and rejoice running fast in groups. Peacocks dance beautifully and sing melodiously. In the evening frogs and toads croak near a pool. At night, moths fly against the light for their love for it and sacrifice their lives. Thus, that its pleasures and pains.

वर्षा वाला दिन

इस नीले ग्रह के जीवों के लिए वर्षा वाला दिन गतिविधियों से भरा हुआ दिन होता है। स्थलीय व जलीय जीव कार्य में लिप्त होने लगते हैं। मौसम सुहावना हो जाता है। लोग आनन्द व मस्ती के लिए बाहर घूमने निकल जाते हैं। किसानों के चेहरे, वर्षा के अनुकूल होने पर खिलते हैं व प्रतिकूल होने पर निराश हो। जाते हैं। यदि कोई सड़क या रेल पुल धराशायी हो जाये तो हो सकता है यात्री अपने आपको असहाय पायें। पक्षी भी असीमित आकाश में उड़ने का आनन्द लेते हैं। पशु भी अपने छिपने के स्थानों से बाहर निकल आते हैं और खुशनुमा मौसम का आनन्द लेते हैं। हिरण कुलाँचे भरते हैं और समूह में तेज दौड़ने का आनन्द लेते हैं। मोर सुन्दर नाचते हैं व मधुर गाते हैं। शाम के वक्त मेंढक व भेक किसी तालाब के किनारे टर्राने लगते हैं। रात में, पतंगे रोशनी से अपने प्रेम के कारण, आकर टकराते हैं और अपना जीवन न्यौछावर कर देते हैं। इसके अपने सुख व दुःख हैं।

S.U.P.W. Camp

An S.U.P.W. camp was held in our school. It was held from 21 Dec. to 27 Dec. There were several programmes. Shramdan’, cleaning the school campus, cleaning and decorating the classrooms were some of the programmes. Our teacher divided the students into groups. There were twelve students in my group. We swept the school campus in three days. Then the campus looked very beautiful. The headmaster allotted one big room to our group to clean and decorate it. We swept the room. We whitewashed the room. I brought paint and a brush from my house. We painted the doors and windows of the room very carefully. The room was whitewashed. The headmaster and four teachers came to our room. They praised our efforts. We were very happy.

एस.यू.पी.डब्ल्यू. शिविर

हमारे स्कूल में एक एस.यू.पी.डब्ल्यू. कैम्प लगाया गया। यह 21 दिसम्बर से 27 दिसम्बर तक लगाया गया। विभिन्न प्रकार के कार्यक्रम थे। श्रमदान, स्कूल-परिसर की सफाई, कक्षाओं की सफाई व उनकी सजावट आदि कुछ कार्यक्रम थे। हमारे अध्यापक ने विद्यार्थियों को समूहों में विभक्त किया। मेरे समूह में बारह विद्यार्थी थे। हमने स्कूल परिसर में तीन दिनों में झाडू लगाई। अब परिसर बहुत सुन्दर दिखाई देता था। प्रधानाध्यापकजी ने हमारे वर्ग को एक बड़ा कमरा साफ करने और सजाने के लिए निर्धारित किया। हमने कमरे में झाडू लगाई। हमने कमरे में सफेदी की। मैं अपने घर से पेन्ट (रंग) व ब्रश ले आया। हमने दरवाजों व खिड़कियों पर बहुत सावधानी से रंग किया। कमरे में सफेदी की। प्रधानाध्यापकजी एवं चार अध्यापक हमारे कमरे में आये। उन्होंने हमारे प्रयासों की प्रशंसा की। हम बहुत प्रसन्न हुए।

A Picnic

Change is life and a picnic is a good change. Last Sunday we decided to go to the canal. The weather was cool. The sky was covered with dark clouds. We went to market and purchased some sweets, namkin and fruits. We took a small gas cylinder, some utensils, tea leaves, sugar etc. with us. At about 10 a,m, we went to the canal by bus. We were in happy mood. On the way some friends were talking and singing. We reached the canal. There was a Varandah near the canal. We cleaned it. After some time we bathed in the canal. At this time rain started. Raju and Ravi swam in the canal. Then we prepared tea. We enjoyed the sweets, namkin, fruits and hot tea. After it we sang songs and told stories. At 6 p.m. we came back to our town happily. We were tired but happy.

एक पिकनिक

परिवर्तन जीवन है और पिकनिक एक अच्छा परिवर्तन है। पिछले रविवार को हमने नहर पर जाने का निश्चय किया। मौसम ठण्डा था। आसमान गहरे बादलों से ढका हुआ था। हम बाजार गये और मिठाइयाँ, नमकीन और फल खरीदे। हमने एक छोटा गैस सिलेण्डर, कुछ बर्तन, चाय पत्ती, शक्कर हमारे साथ ली। लगभग सुबह 10 बजे हम बस से नहर पर गये। हम खुशी के मूड में थे। रास्ते में कुछ मित्र बातें कर रहे थे। एवं गा रहे थे। हम नहर पर पहुँचे । नहर के पास एक बरामदा था। हमने इसे साफ किया। कुछ देर बाद हमने नहर में स्नान किया। इस समय वर्षा प्रारंभ हो गई । राजू और रवि नहर में तैरे। फिर हमने चाय तैयार की। हमने मिठाइयाँ, नमकीन, फलों एवं गरम चाय का आनन्द लिया। इसके बाद हमने गाने गाये और कहानियाँ कहीं। लगभग सायं 6 बजे हम प्रसन्नतापूर्वक वापस लौट आये। हम थके हुए किन्तु खुश थे।

Celebrations on Diwali

Diwali is the festival which is full of lights and full of events. On the day of Diwali, it is celebrated with great enthusiasm and fervour. I, too, celebrated Diwali with much rejoicings. In the evening, my all the friends came to my house. There was a park in front of my house: We, all the friends went there. We carried crackers and sweets with us. First of all, we fired ‘sutali-bombs’. These produced ear-tearing noise. Then, we fired rockets. These seemed to touch the blue-sky. Then, we fired other crackers. The special item was the ‘rail’. One long thread was put into it. It moved upon it. Then, we enjoyed sweets. So, Diwali remained an eventful festival.

दीवाली पर्वोत्सव मनाना

दीवाली वह पर्व है जो रोशनी से भरपूर व घटनाओं से भरपूर रहता है। दीवाली वाले दिन, इसे अत्यधिक जोश व धर्मोत्साह से मनाया जाता है। मैंने भी दीवाली को अत्यधिक आनन्द से मनाया। शाम को, |मेरे सभी मित्र मेरे घर आये। मेरे घर के सामने एक पार्क था। हम सभी मित्र वहां गये। हम वहाँ पटाखे व मिठाइयाँ ले गये। सर्वप्रथम, हमने ‘सूतली बम’ चलाए। इन्होंने कान-फाड़ आवाज की। फिर, हमने राकेट चलाए। ये नीले आकाश को छूते-से प्रतीत हुए। फिर हमने अन्य पटाखे चलाए। विशेष आइटम ‘रेल’ थी। इसमें एक लम्बे धागे को डाला गया। यह इस पर चली। फिर, हमने मिठाइयों का आनन्द लिया। अतः दीवाली एक गतिविधिपूर्ण पर्व रहा।

Sports Day at My School

Games and sports are very important in the life of everyone. Games and sports have become an important part of school time-table. Our school conducts activities of games and sports regularly. A physical training instructor supervises these activities. Our school celebrates a sports day every year. This day, competitions in all important games and items of sports are organised. Competitions are held in a very healthy spirit. These competitions encourage more and more students to take part in them. In every game and item of sports, prizes are kept for the first, the second and the third winners. The highest record in every event is also recorded. This year our school organised sports day on 7 November. Teachers and students took part in it. Really the sports day this year was a great success.

हमारे विद्यालय में खेल-कूद दिवस

खेल-कूद प्रत्येक व्यक्ति के जीवन में महत्त्वपूर्ण होते हैं। खेलकूद अब विद्यालय कार्यक्रम का एक अभिन्न अंग हो गया है। हमारा विद्यालय नियमित रूप से खेल-कूद की क्रियायें संचालित करता है। एक शारीरिक व्यायाम शिक्षक इन क्रियाओं को नियन्त्रित करता है। हमारा विद्यालय प्रतिवर्ष एक खेल-कूद दिवस मनाता है। इस दिन सभी महत्त्वपूर्ण खेलों तथा सभी स्पोर्ट्स के मदों पर प्रतियोगिताएँ आयोजित की जाती हैं। बहुत ही स्वस्थ परम्परा के रूप में प्रतियोगिताएँ आयोजित की जाती हैं। ये प्रतियोगिताएँ अधिकाधिक छात्रों को उनमें हिस्सा लेने के लिए प्रोत्साहित करती हैं। प्रत्येक खेल-कूद की क्रियाओं में प्रथम, द्वितीय तथा तृतीय विजेता के लिये पुरस्कार रखे जाते हैं। प्रत्येक कार्यक्रम का सबसे ऊँची सफलता का रिकार्ड (अभिलेख) रखा जाता है। इस वर्ष हमारे विद्यालय ने खेल-कूद दिवस 7 नवम्बर को मनाया। प्राध्यापकों तथा छात्रों ने इसमें भाग लिया। वास्तव में इस वर्ष का खेल-कूद दिवस एक महान् सफलता थी।

Unfortunately, in many families importance is given only to studies. In some cases, even the health of the child is neglected. It is wise to give equal importance to sports. Physical exercises through regular participation in sports and games, shapes one’s personality. All study and no play make Tom a dull boy. Parents should realize that book worms succeed in examinations but fail in life. Sports only teaches leadership qualities, team spirit and nurtures co–operation among peers. Sports helps one develop discipline and also maintain good health. So, students must pay equal attention to studies and sports to succeed in life.

The Need for Social Forestry:

Year by year, the temperature has been increasing steadily. There have been erratic seasonal changes in recent times. There is failure of monsoon hitting the agriculture sector hard in India. Due to the mindless felling of trees, there is a phenomenal increase in the climate which has started melting the glaciers. This threatens to raise the sea level and drown all the low lying countries of the world. It is high time we stopped felling of trees and saved the forests. Social forestry is the only way to involve the community in nurturing and protecting forests. If we don’t conserve forests we will perish as a race.

Every year we celebrate Earth Day on 22nd April. Lovers of environment and students take a pledge to protect the earth’s environment. Modem factories pollute water, air and soil. Every day large amounts of waste is generated. We need to do waste management wisely. We have to segregate wet and dry waste. Dry waste must be recycled. Wet waste such as vegetable peel, fallen leaves, cow dung etc must be composted and turned into manure. This natural manure is good for cultivation. By avoiding chemical fertilizers, we can make the earth free from pollution also. Keeping our dear earth free from pollution should be our motto.

Roof Top Solar Energy:

With over 300 million houses in India, over 300 days of sunshine, an ambitious target of 40 GW of rooftop solar by 2020 and various states formulating rooftop solar policies, there should have been a solar revolution in Indian homes. Pepe was a young page boy. He was an honest and humble in nature. He liked Columbus and prefer to accompany him though he was on off duty. The poet Ruskin Bond called his grandmother unique because she could climb a tree whether the tree was high or big and spreading. She was skillful and she can climb it very quickly and easily. The above picture shows that the person drives while drinking. Drinking is injurious to health. While the persons are drunk and drive, accidents may happen. Because of them the innocent people will suffer a lot. Drink and drive is a severe offence. It is crime. The authorities should take severe action and should control it.

The poet called his grandma genius because she could climb a tree even in her old age. The tree may be high or spreading. She would have to climb it. Even at the age of 62 she climbed trees. She is fond of climbing a tree since her childhood. She had this gift and was enjoying a lot. She had more pleasure on a tree than any other things. She sits there and eats and drinks with her grandson, like this she can claim her right to live on a tree.
