Solve : IE doesnt ask to save password?

Answer»

Doesn't the fact that many of your posts have been questioned by a number of members give you a HINT? Wanting to join a forum like this and help is great, and you're to be commended for it. But when the advice you give is questionable you need to expect to be challenged. Don't be defensive, instead try to learn from it.Broni thanks for those posts, I CHECKED the registry entries and they are set to yes.

Azzaboi, I followed your post and deleted all the sites I was having trouble with as per your instructions. Closed it all down and restarted the computer (just as a matter of course) and restarted the computer.

That seems to have cured the password save problem with them. (so far at least).
I dont use IE hardly at all and dont remember having gone to other sites with it, so it was an incredibly SHORT list.
I tested if IE was going to behave for me, by going to some other sites that need password entries, then closed and opened them again.

Success.

My biggest problem has been that I dont know anything of IE at all.

Imtired now I will thank the others tommorrow, when I can get my head around what they are saying.
Thanks ImnoGuruImnoGuru: Glad I was wrong and Azzaboi and soybean were correct and your problem appears to be solved.Allan thank you too, I see what you are saying here.

No. The OP says IE will not save passwords on ANY site, not just one.

In my case, to me, that was any site. I hadnt ventured past say a dozen different sites, (all ones I had been to before). Like I said it was a short list. IE just lacks some of the benefits and features that firefox seems to have as standard and I FOUND F/F more usable (for me).

Broni's suggestion ensured the settings were correct to continue, while the instructions Azzaboi gave me, did the job, others of his instructions would have deleted ALL the passwords in all browsers, the 3rd option given. (from what I could make of it, like soybean said).

Quote from: soybean on February 28, 2010, 08:49:15 AM
Right, and Azzaboi's procedure would affect/reset IE's behavior with all websites, not just one.

I would die if that were to happen. I have back ups of all these things both on the computer and as a written document external of the computer. ( do you remember that thing called paper and pen. Yep that.) I wrote it down.

So far it all seems to be saving the passwords Ok.

Thank you all for your assistance.Quote from: ImnoGuru on March 02, 2010, 07:25:45 PM

No, his instructions pertained only to IE; they would affect IE's behavior for all websites, but would have no effect on Firefox or any other browser. WOW thanks soybean, that was my biggest worry... whether doing that would have affected F/Fox passwords as well. That's the main reason I didn't pursue that, past option 1.

I was actually going to set up an old computer to test just that and see what the result was. (Heaven knows I have enough old computers lying around) I don't even think they would sell on Ebay.

Well that puts my mind to rest.
Thanks again for the heads up soybean.

Solve : New favorites not showing up?

Answer»

For a while, the new favorites I ADD don't show up at all in my favorites dropdown thing. I still have old Favorites, but any new ones simply don't appear. When I try to add another Favorite with the same NAME as an invisible one, it SAYS it already exists and asks me if I want to overwrite. It doesn't matter what I choose. It's not there. I'm running Internet Explorer 8 on Windows XP Home Edition. Help please! I'll be happy to provide any information you need to fix this glitch.

EDIT: I did a search for *.URL in My Computer. It found all my favorites, showing and invisible, in the same folder. But I'm still missing all my recent ones in Internet Explorer. This is very odd.

Solve : IE8 background processes?

Answer» IE8 background processes

Maybe I'm being a little paranoid, but this seems odd to me...

I uses Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit, the only THINGS in startup are the required Windows, Audio, Graphics Driver, Mouse, and Kaspersky Internet Security 2010. On startup I've noticed it shows two copies of 'WMPNSCFG.exe' in the background tasks for a few seconds, then they disappear. The THING is I've disabled Windows Media Network Sharing.

Next is when I start Internet EXPLORER 8, I normally get two 'iexplorer.exe' processes, SOMETIMES three. It seems like one process for the entire program, then one each for the tabs, is this correct?

Sometimes it also asks to restore tabs on startup (recover like from a crash but it's never crashed), which still just opens 'about:blank' homepage.

Solve : Mozilla Fire-Fox....HELP...?

Answer»

I believe in F-Fox the PLACE between history and extra is called;Hotlist in English.(I don`t know for sure,I`m Dutch). If I WANT to Delete something out of this list it shows(with r-click) the delete function but when I try it doesn`t delete. How do I get around this? Is it something I did wrong

Please HELP...Greetings;Eric.Hello Eric1611, I had a LOOK at your question but think you might have to explain a little bit more.
Allowing for the translation difficulty, the item after "History" on the bar is "BOOKMARKS".

From what you say, you want to delete something (a website address?) from the BOOKMARKS List?

Your process should be correct.

However if it does not work for you, you might try going to the "BOOKMARKS" name tag.
Left click to open it and the (4) fourth item down is "ORGANIZE BOOKMARKS".

Left click "Organize Bookmarks" and it will bring up another screen with all the items listed.
In the new window, the left hand screen is your main folders.

The right hand screen shows the pages saved in each of those folders.

You can select the item you want to delete in there and right click, GO to "Delete" and click "Delete"

I hope I have read your question correctly and this helps with your problem.
If not please make another post and explain a bit more.

Thank you ImnoGuruTHANKS !!! It worked like a dream.
Greetings from Holland;Eric.Thats great Eric1611.
Anytime you need a hand, send in a post and SOMEONE will be able to help in some way.

Solve : Best downloader that can download any type of streaming video? exept real player?

Answer»

Best downloader that can DOWNLOAD any TYPE of streaming video? exept real player?

I am using real player for downloading all type of streaming video

But i can not RESUME the paused downloads whenever I restarts the system.

Could you suggest best downloader as per the above REQUIREMENTS?
If you want to rip videos off Youtube and such, I recommend this Firefox Addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3006Try OrbitDownloader. Its really good for downloading videos from sites. It has a grab++ option, which CATCHES videos on sites, and you can download them.

Solve : Firefox error or malware?

Answer»

So if nothing happens then we know its one of the PROBLEMS with themes and add ons or extensions?
How about the speed in which the firefox opens? It seem to open faster in safe mode.Quote

So if nothing happens then we know its one of the problems with themes and add ons or extensions?
Yes. Same goes for opening speed. The more add-ons you have, the longer time to open FF. In general, FF is not the fastest browser to open.
While in Normal Mode, switch to default FF theme, disable all add-ons, restart FF.
If it works OK, start enabling add-ons, but one-by-one, restarting FF each time, until you find the culprit.

I also re-read your first post:

The log looks clean, so we're back to my recommendation from my reply #16.by disabling stumble upon, it seems the FF opens faster.
Does that MEAN I should uninstall it ? I do like what it does. Do you think by reinstalling it might work better?I don't think, reinstalling an add-on will help. Some add-ons are just like that, eating up RAM, or slowing down FF.
Read here: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensionsConsider what StumbleUpon is doing while you are browsing...it is indexing hundreds of web pages with random associations according to each page you open...
Even on a high end machine this will take up some cycles.Makes sense, but would it affect the opening of FF? I can see how it would affect browsing.

ThanksIt probably has to download it's index, or load it, or something along those lines.

Just a guess though. Thanks appreciate the advice.

Solve : fine tune IE load time?

Answer»

Hello there

I saw this on a web site and decided to try it out

One more way to fine tune Internet. Explorer load time
If you do this little trick, application load time may improve significantly. Right Click on shortcut to Internet. Explorer in taskbar ( If you do not see it right click on taskbar, click toolbar and select quicklaunch) , click on properties and under shortcut tab look for Target field. It should say some thing like "C:\Program Files\Internet. Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE". This is typical default. I am suggesting you to put " -nohome" without quotes at the end of this string with one space in between. It should read like this "C:\Program Files\Internet. Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome. Doing this would help load the application quickly as time would not be wasted in connecting to home page again and again. This is good for normal use as well.

I tryed this out but i kept getting "invalid path" can this be done, or is there a mistake is this path.

This is from a site called xptune up, so it is for xp.... but maybe not for xp pro

Any ideas

What is Internet. Explorer? Is it not just Internet Explorer?

Get rid of that PERIOD in the target and try it.

Oh, and another thing, Windows XP = Windows XP Home, Professional, MC, ect... Quote from: Carbon Dudeoxide on November 20, 2008, 04:17:38 AM

Also, FED has a POINT. You can just set the browser's homepage to about:blank.

Otherwise, use Firefox. YES was just about to reply to that, completely forgot about doing it that wayQuote from: Fed on November 20, 2008, 02:02:14 PM

Solve : Google Chrome vs Microsoft Internet Explorer?

Answer»

As a first hand observer i can state that the triple shooter fece attack is far more effective than any Tusk attack on record...
That being said the main issue is that all 3 attackers will at ONE time or another feed on grain ALTHOUGH walruses are less prone to do so if there are SWARMS of sardines nearby.

One thing that has been overlooked in the ranking #'s is that belugas although possessing magic can be particularily ineffective as they will flee upon sighting the head gardener from a nunnery...this flaw was exposed in the epic battle Isle of Dongle vs. Quinn's Pub regulars.

At any rate all of these petty details should become quite clear in Spring when they fire up the Hadron Collider for a 2nd time.
Indeed- I forgot about a belugas tendency to flee when sighting the head gardener from a nunnery. In their defense, It was a Nun who wielded the beluga smashing hammer in a previous battle, so their fear is justified.

So it is settled- the pidgeons would definitely win- NOTWITHSTANDING that the Belugas have a Rock CANDY, which is unlikely.

If you don't have Isle of Dongle vs. Quinn's Pub regulars on DVD send me a PM and we'll make arrangements...
I watch it every Tuesday evening at 7 Sharp.

Solve : Blank blue screen when clicking a "contact us" link?

Answer»

New member here so bear with me...........

Lately, when I'm on a .com website and click the "contact us" button for more information, and it happens to be a link to a hidden email address, I get a blank blue screen pop up. I can close the screen by right clicking the blank button on the bottom--then close--and it goes away.

After that, if I right click the "contact us" box in the web site and click "copy" then it puts the hidden email address on the CLIPBOARD and I can manually paste it in my email.

Is there a WAY I can go back to the way it used to be?

Edit---Now that I've SEEN some SAMPLE medium-blue screens in a SEARCH, the blue screen I get is lighter and more blue/green if that helps. What does the blue screen say?
What browser, version?Happens with I.E and Firefox in Hotmail, Verizon and Gmail

Subject: BLANK blue screen.....No wordee; no clickee

I hope I'm not the only one this happens to!Verify your Java version here: http://www.java.com/en/download/installed.jsp
Update, if necessary.
Uninstall all previous Java versions, through Add\Remove.

Solve : Opera Problems?

Answer»

Hi guys,
I have just finished up-grading my SYSTEM to a P4V533-MX motherboard with XP Home, 40G and 10G HDs and 500Mg RAM (not the best system but way better than my old PIII with W98) I am using Opera 9.62 as my Browser - I am limited to Dial Up and find Opera roughly twice as fast as IE7 or Firefox.
The problems I am having is that TRYING to view my bills on Canada E-Post, everything seems to work except that the final "view bill" page opens with all the headings and options but no bill in the body of the page I've tried Mastercard and my tel bill with the same result.
I have also found that trying to list an add on Kijjiji that pictures will not upload - the PICTURE upload icon just keeps running indefinitely.
I'm pretty sure this is not firewall or security settings and both these FEATURES work on IE 7 although very slowly!
Opera's website is no help and I'm hoping their be a patch out there for one or both of these problems - any suggestions appreciated.

Solve : Does saving long documents slow computer??

Answer»

If I save a long book , say a couple hundred pages, does that slow computer's internet use? That would mean I should only save url and hope document isn't taken down. Or I could and should save to a CD instead? Any large download could produce some general system slowing and so reduce browsing speed - but VARIOUS factors will come into play. Speed of connection is one and if slow then probably browser might BEHAVE slower during download period - you haven't supplied any info on that.

Then your system - how much speed, caching, RAM etc ... all factors affecting how much spare PROCESSING ability you have when busy. I wouldn't expect to see too much CPU use needed during this kinda thing but for sure your internet connection will have QUITE some influence.

If you want an e-book - and say it's 3Mb PDF - probably best to initiate the download and leave it be for the duration - then resume browsing. Save/burn to a CD will be best done secondary to download IMO.When you are saving tons of files in your computer, your HDD memory will be getting low. When it comes to the point that your HDD drive reaches its maximum capacity it will make your computer run slower than usual. TWO notes:
1. You should always have at least 15% free space on your computer.
2. Filling up your computer's free space doesn't reduce your internet speed.3. Disk space is not "memory".

Solve : firefox question?

Answer»

The address bar has a small arrow at the far right. When I click on this arrow, it DISPLAYS possibly the browswer history, or it recommends bookmarks or something. I cleared the history, ran crap cleaner nothing is changing this list. This problem all started when I updated to the lastest firefox. In the least I wish to CLEAR the list, ideally if that arrow and any drop down list would disappear, I would be very happy. If it is any help there are gold stars on the far right of the history listAre you talking about the RSS feeds? is it an orange button with three curved LINES going through it?

FBtoothless,

What you are seeing are your bookmarks. Firefox added this little feature in 3.0.

you can REMOVE this IMO intolerable ADDITION, just google it.what exactly should I google? Fireballs - now that you mention it that rss feed can go as well. All I really want is for the things on my computer to stay familair. I have neither the time nor the will to invest in learning something new. If anyone of great importance is listening- please, stop changing things, we do not like unfamilair.Talking about this?

If so, How to disable the Smart Location Bar: http://bbayles.googlepages.com/disable_slb.htmlYes, thank you broni, will have a look.Wow, fixed in under 30 seconds-coolCool

Solve : Logging in to secure pages?

Answer»

Is there a genious out there?

I am running IE8 on Windows XP service pack 2 and I cannot log in to secure pages, EVERYTHING works fine on all sites except when I TRY to log in with a user name and password, the page hangs and I get the page cannot be displayed message.

I have

Loaded Firefox and Chrome still the same thing
Run Spy Bot Search and Destroy the same thing
Reset the Belkin wireless router to factory settings several times same thing
Reconfigured internet security settings in many DIFFERENT ways .......
Disabled Firewalls .......
Removed Norton.......
Removed all Anti Virus......

If any one has an idea I will be eternally grateful!

When did this problem start happening? It started ages ago and I didnt really bother for a long time. It must be approaching a year. Not sure what the problem may be...

Try this.
Download and Install
CCleaner.

When it is installed, run it and make sure the following checkboxes are checked.
Internet Explorer --> Temporary Files
Internet Explorer --> Cookies (optional)
Mozilla Firefox --> Internet Cache
Mozilla Firefox --> Cookies (optional)
System --> Temporary Files
System --> Empty Recycling Bin (optional but recommended if low on disk space)
You can CHECK whatever else you want but you should know that whatever you check will be unrecoverable.
When you are done, Run the Cleaner.

If that doesn't work, I found this:
http://www.helpwithwindows.com/WindowsXP/troub-10.html1. Click Start, and then click Run.

2. In the Open box, type one of the following
commands, and then click OK (copy and paste is your
best friend):

regsvr32 softpub.dll
regsvr32 wintrust.dll
regsvr32 initpki.dll
regsvr32 dssenh.dll
regsvr32 rsaenh.dll
regsvr32 gpkcsp.dll
regsvr32 sccbase.dll
regsvr32 slbcsp.dll
regsvr32 cryptdlg.dll

4. Click OK when you receive the message that says
DllRegisterServer in FileName succeeded.

5. Repeat for each command line listed aboveThe mystery is solved. APPARENTLY the router needed to be set at 1400 MTU not the 1431 that talktalk told me to set it at.All right then, good job.

Clearing your temporary files wouldn't hurt though. It may benefit your computer a lot.Interesting solution. Bookmarked.

Solve : IE freezes?

Answer»

Ok I've only noticed this with internet explorer. I have at&t yahoo browser, with IE 7. For about a month or so I've had the problem that when i'm typing, every once in awhile it will just stop typing like it froze. My mouse will still work but nothing will type for a couple of seconds. Then it will go back to normal. I have XP professional SP2. 2 gigs of ram. I've just started using firefox and I have not had the problem. I just don't know too much about firefox and I had everything set up the way I liked it in IE 7 so I would like to keep that working.

Thanks for the help, I hope you understand.

NathanClose IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Same thing?well when I go to system tools, I don't have that option. I tried to look for that option from system tools too but couldn't find it!

TRY this till Broni comes,

1)Open Internet Explorer 7.

2)Choose Tools from the menu.

3)From the resulting drop-down menu, choose Manage Add-ons, followed by Enable or Disable Add-ons....

4)In the Manage Add-ons window, choose Add-ons that have been used by Internet Explorer from the Show: drop-down box.

5)The resulting list will show every add-on that Internet Explorer 7 has ever used. If an add-on is causing the problem you're troubleshooting, it will be one of the add-ons listed here.

6)Select the first add-on listed, then select the Disabled radio button in the Settings area at the bottom of the window, and click OK.

7)Click OK if prompted with a "For changes to take effect, you might need to restart Internet Explorer" message.

8)Close and then reopen Internet Explorer 7.

9)Test whatever activities in Internet Explorer were causing the problem you're troubleshooting here.

If the problem is not resolved, repeat STEPS 1 through 7, disabling one more add-on at a time until your problem is resolved.Quote

well when I go to system tools, I don't have that option
Are you SURE, it's IE7, not IE6?when I go to about browser it says
AT&T Yahoo! Browser
Product Version: 5.05.02.409
File Version: 2008.08.18.01
AT&T Yahoo! Version 7.00-000-ACIX
Internet Explorer: 7.0.5730.13

So I assume yes it's IE7

Anyways I went and reset my browser and it went back to the orginal way before there were add ons. It is still doing it.DLoad and install FireFox.
Travel to your Yahoo home page.
In FireFox clik on Tools/Options ...in the first page choose "use current page" under Homepage...

Never look back.yeah I've been using firefox off and on and I figured if I couldn't figure this Internet explorer thing out, I would go completely to firefox. I liked having the multiple tabs open in IE, but I haven't figured out if firefox can do it yet. This is the first problem I've had with IE so I like it.Firefox has been having tabs built in for a long time. Plus hundreds of other features.I know I just don't know how to use it yet. I'm thinking my best bet would be to switch over to firefox. Can you have multiple tabs at start up on firefox? http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Multiple+tabs+open+when+starting+FirefoxWow you are a mastermind.
Can I delete yahoo from my computer even though their my internet provider?

I have all kinds of questions about my processes in the task manager. I have 87 running and I think that's a lot. I've looked at websites to see which I could get rid of and I'm just afraid/lost on what to do. I should probably search first and start another topic for this I guess, although I'm hijacking my own thread.Leave it on...just delete the Desktop shortcut.

Yes start another Topic...Post a HijackThis log for us to see the services...As patio said, we can check for any malicious entries in HJT, but not all services are listed there.
Your best bet is to install ServiWin: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/serviwin.html
The above program will allow you to print out a list of all of your services. With that list, go to BlackViper SITE: http://www.blackviper.com/, and compare your list to his "Safe" list.

Solve : Problems with Firefox and updates?

Answer»

Sorry if this question has been ASKED before, I did read through some of the posts, but couldn't find my problem.

I downloaded Firefox a few months ago, but it will not let me perform SOFTWARE updates. Does anybody know why? I have a Mac and I'm sure I download the Firefox version for Mac.

Are you doing anything else while you are software updating?
When you are running software updates, or installing new security patches, you shouldn't do anything with your Mac while it's running through the last "Optimizing System Performance" phase of a software update. It will not let me perform updates! It says updates completed, but I can see the last update was from the spring. So something is wrong I just can't figure it out. What exactly are you trying to update? You could always do a backup of your Profile and DLoad and INSTALL the latest MAC version and Import the Profile...Firefox has got to be the best browser. how can anyone think IE is great with all the current problems it is always having come on.
Even chrome is better than ie and it runs much smoother. I haven't changed over yet my love for firefox is too real.
Peace out mate Quote

Even chrome is better than ie

Thanks for continually trying to get this sorted.

I haven't tried disabling my firewall, but could it be this seeing as all my internet browsers give the same thing? I'll try it anyway.Well disabling the firewall fixed the admin section on my site () but the FAQ section on Saviour PC is the same....

So how would I go about configuring the firewall to actually make my site "work"?

I'm not familiar with CA firewall, so you'll have to dig through its settings.

Where can I find information on Windows 98 and Millennium Edition error messages?
How do I extract original compressed Windows 95, 98 and Millennium Edition files?
How do I remove Windows Live OneCare? I forgot the password for my Adminastrator account.
How do I BOOT into Safe Mode?

Okay, I now have my firewall enabled and the admin section of my site is still working. THANK you!

Now for Saviour PC....

-- Most parts of the Saviour PC site that weren't working are now working! EXCEPT for the FAQ section...Very interesting.
In FF, go Tools>Options>Content, click on "Colors" button.
Make sure, "Allow pages...." box is checked.
Restart Firefox.Wait!

All I had to do was clear the cache and, voila, there they are!

THANK YOU! Whoopee!

I have win XP, COMODO firewall, Spybot S & D.and AVG ANTI virus installed. I use the FIREFOX browser and Thunderbird for email.
The web page/new link has always loaded until recently, when I have had to re fresh the page or TRY again on about every sixth occasion. This can happen on my home page or my mail programme. The page always loads on the second attempt.
The only thing I have done recently is clean out my cookies, temp, and history files. PERHAPS I have deleted something I shouldn't have done.
I have received advice on cleaning my TCP and IP stack, clearing the private data (EXCEPT cache) all of which have had no effect.

Solve : **** Eudora NOT Loading Any Browser ****?

Eudora NOT Loading Any Browser!!!

Here's the problem..........

E-Mail message has a url enclosed in the body of the message! URLS are supposed to be
clickable, however when anyone mouse clicks on this url this is the message from Eudora...
"The URL is NOT syntactically valid." I haven't a clue what this means and or does Eudora.

My default browser is Mozilla Seamonkey and yes I have PROGRAMMED it as my default browser.

I have tried reinstalling both Eudora and the Monkey!!! *sigh* Nothing!!!

There are no commands in Eudora tools to correct this problem.

How about some heavy help from one of you gurus or geeks or hackers???

I've done all of my rabbits but this one has me stumped.

signed...............

Frustrated

Is this happening with one PARTICULAR link or all links that you receive in email? Every and all urls............

Maybe I should look up the work ... S Y N T A C T I C A L L Y *sigh*

I also observed someone else getting a blank page with Microsoft Explorer when they clicked on every and any url!!!

Surely there must be some way to correct this?

I haven't used Eudora since I was at Penn State. (That would be '96-'99.) I did look around on the Internet and your problem is apparently not that uncommon. There aren't any solutions, at least not at first glance. The problem you are having is apparently caused by an anti-phishing feature in Eudora. Something in the way the hyperlink is written does not meet Eudora's standards and so it is considered suspect.

I'll do some more poking around. Thank You Ever So Much For Your KIND Reply. I will solve this problem someday soon! *grin*

I personally don't think that there is any software that has a bug CANNOT be corrected.

Sent uploadThis is upload link
http://www.uploadbigfiles.net/download.php?file=915GirlInABar.wmvIt plays fine here, but you didn't answer all my questions.
Can you play regular video, like video DVD, not video on the internet?
Is the above video, the only video, which doesn't play?
If more, than ONE, all from one sender?
The video, you uploaded...is this the very same video, which you received as an attachment, and it doesn't play on your computer?I can play dvds and CD. I am only having trouble with the video I receive by email. Any source I receive it from, I can only get audio not video.
It is the same one I received and won't show audio on my computer.
If I get a you tube video I can go to you tube and watch it. Its just when I receive it as an attachment and have to download it that I can't view the video. This is very interesting issue.
Did you notice, if all those attached VIDEOS are in .wmv format?Yes
I also notice when I take a pic with my vid cam and try to view it,it loads thru Nero and it won't complete the download. It is a jpg file and nero states it can't download itVLC has all codecs included, so it should play any video, but....get K-Lite Codec Pack STANDARD: http://www.free-codecs.com/download/K_Lite_Codec_Pack.htm
Restart computer, and try to play the video in WMP, and VLC.I'll give it a shot

In fact, I found this. Pretty good read:
http://www.infopackets.com/news/security/2005/20050517_which_web_browser_is_the_most_secure.htm
Carbon, that article is a bit out-dated now. Clearly, it's referring to IE 6 when it implies a version of IE without tabs. And, it's basically referring to Windows XP, pre-SP2.

With Windows XP SP2/SP3 or Windows Vista, and IE 7, I seriously doubt Mozilla's Firefox has a significant security advantage. Probably not. The only security disadvantage of current IE version, would be ActiveX, in my opinion.Hmmm....Although I agree that article is a bit dated, there are many Add-Ons for Firefox that can make it safer.FIREFOX is best browser which iam very much like it In Firefox 3 in the about:config area, is there anything I could change in there that will make it more secure?Google found a few goods links:

http://www.firefoxfacts.com/2007/02/14/make-firefox-safe/When it comes to what browser is the most secure this past few years, I would say that Mozilla Firefox is off the charts.I'm a hard core Firefox user, but I want to be as much FAIR, as I can.
Please, go to Secunia site, and look at the numbers, and types of security vulnerabilities in IE7, and Firefox. They're about the same.
There was a different story with previous IE versions.
FYI, I don't like, and I don't USE IE at all.
