Solve : Error with email links in IE7? |
Answer» Hi.I don`t know if this the right forum but here goes. If I click on an email link in IE7 I get an error message...`Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed`.... This is a clean install of WinXP onto a new HARD drive. It worked FINE last week . As far as I remember I haven`t made any ADJUSTMENTS to Outlook Express or IE7. I just do the normal adware/spyware/virus checks. THANKS in advance. |

Solve : IE6 freezes when I try to access Netflix? |
Answer» For the past 2 days, every time I try to open Netflix, my browser freezes halfway through. I haven't added any new programs, and I haven't had this problem with any of the other sites that I visit (although my system is a little slower than usual). I did a virus scan and came up clean. I would appreciate any input. Thanks. And what are you using for spyware protection? You need to be clean from that as well. An antivirus is never enough. I'm using McAfee for spyware, antivirus and firewall. Quote Does the page eventually load? Or does it just freeze completely? I've always had trouble with Netflix freezing for about 20 seconds on IE6 (on multiple computers). But only when I first enter the site. The frontpage doesn't seem to be very IE6-friendly. The front page freezes completely with about half the page loaded. I deleted my cookies and was able to log back in and change my password, but when I TRIED to access my queue it froze up again. No gaurantee that this will help but it won't hurt and you may see other benefits from having done it. Download, install, and run CCleaner. Run it's Windows scan and Applications scan, and tell it to remove all the stuff it finds. Also, run it's Issues scan; when you do this, backup your Registry when prompted, and then tell CCleaner to Fix all the items found. If you don't do as SOYBEAN suggests at least delete all your temporary internet files. Alan <>< I may have found the problem. After trying a number of different things for a couple of days (including clearing the Temporary Internet files and the .tmp files), I found out purely by accident that my firewall was malfunctioning. It stopped recognizing my Callwave Internet Answering Machine, and when I thought about it I realized that this started on the same day that the Netflix problem started. As an experiment I uninstalled the firewall and then checked out Netflix. It loaded QUICKLY with no problems at all, and it's been fine ever since. The slowness has also cleared up. So for now things look ok, but I am going to give Soybean's suggestion a try as well. Thanks! You're not going without a firewall now, are you? 'Cause believe me, that can end up being a lot WORSE than not being able to access Netflix. |

Solve : firefox game support if not activex...what????? |
Answer» I want to get rid of i.e., but my wife is an avid internet game player. What kind of game support can I EXPECT from firefox, I'd LOVE to get rid of active x registry problems. Many many internet games depend on Flash, RATHER than ActiveX. Flash is well supported in Firefox, so she'll still be able to play a lot of games. Why do want to get rid of IE, can't you just tell her to use Firefox? Also, how are you going to go about this, It's not LIKE other programs, where there is an uninstaller for? You can also just remove it from the desktop and from the start menu. Thanks for the reply guys. You're right I can't just get rid of i.e. I suppose I can let her have Internet exploder and I can still install firefox for my own satisfaction. I'm no TECHY by any means, but I don't think that would cause any PC problems. Tell me if I'm barkin' up the wrong browser on that. thanks again [smiley=cool.gif]That sounds fine to me. |

Solve : about:blank window? |
Answer» Every time I close an explorer window (ex. My Documents) I get an IE 7 about:blank page. I checked to SEE if I had the about:blank VIRUS, but didn’t have it. I did not just use an ordinary virus remover program. I downloaded a special about:blank removal program. After trying the removal program I opened up My Documents then CLOSED it, but I still got the about:blank page. I looked at the list of search providers. I did not have about.com in the list. The only provider listed was Google.com. If you have a security program that checks for malware, you may want to turn off System Restore. Boot your PC into Safe Mode and run a full system scan. Once this is done, reboot your PC and turn System Restore back on. |

Solve : which IE best suits for which os?? |
Answer» anyone have answer to this.and i have heard that Mozila firefox is better than internet explorer is it true,if it so ,why is that :-? anyone have answer to this.and i have heard that Mozila firefox is better than internet explorer is it true,if it so ,why is thatNot to evade your question , but I have IE6 on one machine, IE7 on another and Firefox on a third...... and you know what ....All three work just fine. Are there any specific features that you are looking for ? ( note, you will require IE to do your M/S auto updates ) Quote how can we completely delete the data stored in our pc.let me know which option should be check to clear the data after work. Please clarify if you want to Format the hard DRIVE ( wipe out everything ) or or you talking about "covering your tracks" after being online ? dl65 Right thanks, but i meant to ask that which IE best suits for which os. or it doesnt matter either which IE you would like to have on you machine irespective of whatever operating system is running on your machine. yes,i am talking abt "covering tracks" after being online.IE7 requires Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2) Windows XP Professional x64 Edition Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1). Obviously, Windows XP Service Pack 2 users can use either IE6 or IE7. As far as covering your tracks, you can do this with any of the three browsers mentioned here. I think it's just a matter of knowing how to do it with your particular browser. I haven't used IE6 much for awhile so I'm not sure that it's as secure in this respect as IE7 and Firefox. In IE7, the first item on the TOOLS menu is Delete Browsing History. Right now I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.9. On the Tools menu is the option to Clear Private Data. Thanks for the information You may also want to CLEAN the index.dat files off your hard drive. These are HIDDEN files that contain the history of the web sites you have visited. You can see them by downloding "index.dat scanner" (free) at [em-tnt.com]. You can clean them (free) by downloading [clean cache 3.0]. Click on the Internet Explorer tab and put a check by the files under 'index.dat file selection' I believe your Internet Provider can also keep a record of sites you visit.o thanks i didnt know abt index.dat files hidden in hard disk thanks for the details. i thought just by clicking on these tabs in internet properties,it would work. In general tab click on delete cookies, delete files,in setting tab(delete ITEMS from the tabs, view files and view objects).clear history. content clear SSL state,AutoComplete(clear forms, clear passwords)Opera = Mac IE = WindowsQuote Opera = Mac HuH ? ? ? |

Solve : IE Will Not Open Web sites? |
Answer» Recently converted from dial-up (people pc) to BROADBAND (Charter). Since the change my IE browser will not connect to web links. When I click on the link IE simply comes up with a blank page and address bar. Also, to send/receive mail, Outlook Express continues trying to connect to the people pc mail server. Any help on how to correct appreciatedChanging your account settings in Outlook Express may be a little involved if you are still using your PeoplePC account. It is best if you contact your new Internet Service Provider for help regarding this matter. If you go to Control Panel, Internet Properties, and select the Connections tab, what setting is enabled for "Choose Settings if you need to configure a proxy server for a connection"? If it is "Always dial my default connection", change that to "Never dial a connection". Redundant...please read second post ...Oops, sorry about that. My PeoplePC account was closed 2/20/07. Of course when Outlook Express 6 tries, I get error messages indicating it cannot connect to the peoplepc mail server. Outlook will also use my new Charter server,'mail.charter.net', but its a nusiance to deal with the error messages EVERY time I hit the 'send/receive' button. The connections tab was updated at the time of INSTALLATION to "never dial a connection." The most puzzling part is why IE won't connect when I click on internet links. For example, if a link is included in a message and I click on it, IE comes up with a blank page and address bar. I can still get to the site by copying the link and pasting in the address bar, but its a pain. Oh well, I'll call Charter. Thanks for the input. For your Internet Explorer problem check out the following Knowledge Base Article from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=281679&sd=RMVP For your Outlook Express problem: If you no longer use your email accounts from PeoplePC, simply delete those accounts from Outlook Express. That should do it... Keep us posted.I NEVER use IE. I find it is too slow and not very functional, plus gazillions of annoying pop-ups. Firefox all the way!! jcarrQuote I NEVER use IE. I find it is too slow and not very functional, [highlight]plus gazillions of annoying pop-ups[/highlight]. Firefox all the way!! Have you scanned for viruses and/or adware lately? I've been using IE forever and I haven't run across this problem. Especially since IE6 (and probably 7) has a pop-up blocker.Just a final update to my problem. Deleted the People pc account, that problem solved. Started using Mozilla Firefox as my browser. All links seem to open fine now. Thanks to all for your input. You're welcome... Glad to hear all is well...You will still need to re-configure IE and get it to work if only for MS updates... Follow saviour's link from a few posts ago. |

Solve : Adding default email client to IE 6.0? |
Answer» OK, you go to tools-internet options-programs and a list of default programs come up for EMAIL, groups etc. The program I want to use when I click on mail in the IE toolbar is not an option. Is there a way to add the program as a option? I want to use Outlook Express but that program does not appear. The only one that does is Hotmail and I have a charter email account I want to use. I am running WinXP Home.Do you have Outlook Express installed? Is it on your Programs menu and/or on your desktop as an icon?Yes, Outlook Express is on my menu and desktop shortcut. I use it everyday. Outlook Express is installed with your browser. If I go to add/remove componets it list IE with a check but no MB on the right. did download and install IE 7.0 at one time but did not like it.OE is also listed there. And, both IE and OE will show 0MB. The reason is, as I explained, that the program files are not actually removed, just links to the programs. In addition to my previous post, which I'm hoping you have read the entire page... Here's another to look at... http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=318378 Hopefully, following soybean's suggestions will work...but these links are here, jkust in case. You have to lets us know what you have tried and if you are having any results. You have also stated you had IE7 at one time, so I'm assuming you uninstalled it. You are now using IE6...CORRECT? And you also have SP2 installed...correct? Then it's my guess, IE is corrupt and needs to be uninstalled and reinstalled...thus the links.Well, I did as the MS pages said. I have Outlook Express listed on the list in Programs in internet options. I can open OE via IE6.0 but still can not click and send a link or page. I also tried the repair method for IE 6.0 by going to the registry and modifing it.. I still can`t SEE in in add/remove programs. So I still can not remove it to reinstall.. Thanks for your help guys.. I think I will let it rest for awhile and then go back to go and start over again. At least OE now shows up as an option in Internet Options now. Keep us posted when and if you get back to it... |

Solve : Outlook Express keeps freezing? |

Answer» Athlon 64 2100mhz Athlon 64 2100mhzAdd/Remove Windows Components is NOT the way to revert to IE 6. All that does is simply make IE appear be uninstalled by removing it from the Programs menu and any shortcuts from the desktop. To revert to IE 6, you should have gone to Add or Remove Programs, selected the item for IE 7 and then removed it. In the process of using Add/Remove Windows Components, you apparently also removed Games, since they also appear in that panel. They can be added back from Add/Remove Windows Components. Quote Or is it just the usual? (Windows!)Nope, it's not the usual. I've used OE for years (Win 95 through Win XP) and never had a problem with it. OE wasn't listed in add/remove programs so on the advice of a friend I tried to remove it in components. I did try to put back the games in components but it wouldn't let me. Maybe just symptoms of the BIGGER problem that manifested itself later? I do try to keep the pc as clean as possible, AV & firewall up to date, always clear all spyware at the end of surfing etc but do you think a virus could've caused all this? If so will a wipe & reinstall sort the virus?Yep, OE does not appear in Add or Remove Programs. It does appear in Add/Remove Windows Components. Did you find Games in Add/Remove Windows Components? What happened when you tried to install them? How do you remove programes that aren't listed in Add/Remove programmes? I've noticed other progs before that weren't there either. I ticked Accessories & it asked for the Windows disc but my dvd rom has now stopped working & so it wouldn't read it. You'd think the pc was ancient instead of 2 years old! I'm now having probs answering cos the wireless connection to the laptop is messing about , in spite of telling me the connection is excellent.Quote How do you remove programes that aren't listed in Add/Remove programmes? I've noticed other progs before that weren't there either. Are we still talking about OE, IE, and Games here? You told me I should've removed OE in Add/Remove programmes & then agreed OE isn't listed in Add/Remove programmes, I was just wondering how I could've removed it? I've noticed on other occasions that not all programmes seem to be listed in Add/Remove (nothing major before, like OE) & they don't always have their own uninstall so I was wondering if I ever download a programme in the future that doesn't appear in Add/Remove & doesn't have it's own uninstall, how would I remove it? I think before, I just did a search & manually removed all the entries I found, which I'm assuming could be leaving a whole lot of stuff behind in the registry & risks DELETING something with a similar name belonging to a different programme/process?I believe I never said OE is removed in Add or Remove Programs; I said it is removed via Add or Remove Windows Components. Generally, you should try to avoid manually removing programs for very reason you mentioned, leaving stuff behind in the Registry. I suggest you download, install, and run CCleaner. It is a disk cleanup utility and also a safe Registry cleaner. It also has an Uninstaller which sometimes will show a program that Windows Add or Remove Programs does not show. You'll find this CCleaner feature under Tools. Thanks for all your help, looks like a wipe & reinstall is all that's left, hope it wasn't a virus! |

Solve : Web page don't open full size...? |
Answer» Easy CBMatt I take your point though. I have just UPGRADED ( or downgraded ) to IE7 and I didn`t have this problem with IE6 which remembered the setting when you closed a window. I should have pointed out that it is the shortcuts in the favourites folder that open minimized. You can right click on desktop shortcuts and change the way you want them to open, but not shortcuts in the the favourites folder. Nevertheless your link did the trick thanks again. My only fluke is that living in Spain I drink too much BRANDY...... :-/ |

Solve : IE6: favorites have stopped scrolling and? |
Answer» Have 2-year old PC; working normally, (mostly except this). Curious thing...favorites operation is in trouble. Have IE6 (reluctant to do IE7 yet), and when I click on favorites, they come up but will no longer scroll when cursor is moved to bottom of list. And, often, screen becomes, "stuck." Then I simutaneously hit ctrl&alt, and favorites disappear. Then Hit ctrl/alt/delete, it shows IE working, and I click on, "x," and Explorer resumes normally until I click on favorites again whereupon it all starts over once more. Have IE6 (reluctant to do IE7 yet) I don't blame you. This didn't happen to me while I had IE6, so it can't just be a bug. Do you have any add-ons to your Internet Explorer? These could affect the Favourites in some WAY. But does it happen to History as well? Quote QuoteQuote from: DennisT on TODAY at 03:02:37 AM What's so bad about IE7? I think the Tabs feature is good, because you don't have to open more programs and therefore slow down the CPU. Thanks for the tips. Yes, XP. I do defrag regularly, disk cleaning, etc. And favorites began working fine again. THEN I discovered my ISP was having trouble...I didn't think operations of favorites depended on quality/speed of ISP connection. I use AVG and do virus scan about every 10 days along with their daily updates. At any rate, it's fine. But I still don't understand why. DennisQuote from: DennisT on April 17, 2007, 11:00:07 PM Thanks for the tips. Yes, XP. I do defrag regularly, disk cleaning, etc.I don't understand why either. Favorites don't depend on your connection, by the way. Has your ISP problem been resolved? Perhaps whatever was/is causing trouble with it also somehow caused problems with IE. Doesn't seem too terribly likely, but it's possible. It's good that you defrag/clean, but I think you should still download and run CCleaner. You'll find that it's a very useful tool. Is AVG your only protection? What about a firewall? Although AVG is a very good program, it would be good to have a couple more. You should have their Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware. They also have a new Anti-Rootkit, which is good to have handy. You should also get Ad-Aware. Doing regular scans with all of these will help with your overall protection. I'm glad to hear that you're no longer having a problem, but I still suspect that something may be afoot. Like Dark Blade asked...do you have any extra add-ons/toolbars installed for IE6? Quote from: Dark Blade on April 17, 2007, 03:14:16 AM What's so bad about IE7? I think the Tabs feature is good, because you don't have to open more programs and therefore slow down the CPU.It's still a bit buggy and I hate the look, feel, and...well, just the interface as a whole. And I can't really say why, but I'm not a fan of tabs. When I spent a week at my girlfriend's house, I had to use Firefox and I wasn't a happy camper. I'd rather have my taskbar get a little full (I've never had it effect my performance). IE7 has better protection (or so I've heard), but that's about all it has going for it. In my opinion, of course. If you're happy with it, then kudos.Quote It's still a bit buggy and I hate the look, feel, and...well, just the interface as a whole. I admit that it takes a while to get used to, but it's handy if you have multiple tabs so that you can view them all at once. I didn't like it at the start, so I put in the original toolbar. And as for DennisT's problem, that's a mystery... Maybe just the computer was full with internet files (e.g. Temporary Internet Files or something), so it stuffed it up somehow... or maybe not.I'm too lazy to try to compile a list of IE7 bugs, but I'm sure Google will have plenty of references. When IE7 has been around a bit longer, I might give it another chance.IE7 problems = 131,000,012 hits. IE7 troubles = 29.043,121 hits. This changes daily though...and a search engine is not a good barometer of quality. But it is a good barometer of trouble. Just thought i'd clarify that.Quote I'm too lazy to try to compile a list of IE7 bugs Oh haha. It isn't that bad. Solve : IE link problems? |

Answer» Hello everyone, List all the protection programs you ran other than Norton... I only ran something called CCleaner... other than that and Norton, nothing else. Install Adaware SE and Spybot S&D, run them in safe mode. ^ Yep, thought it worked too. But no, it's still jumping me to other websites.... Does this situation call for a HijackThis log? Might as well. |

Solve : Login tracker?? |
Answer» Is it possible to monitor who logs in to my email and other accounts if they are using a computer that i do not have access to? Is there any software that i could download to find out if anyone and what time they logged in as me on say, a hotmail account??? i know people have my password, i want to know if they've been using it... ?? If you lower your security by giving out your password you should not even expect privacy. It's not a matter of trust, it's a matter of poor judgement. i know it doesn't make sense. all i want to know is if such software exists, where you can access a list of time and dates of when someone has logged in to an account?I don't think there is such software because it would have to be linked to your email account and......well its complicating...... I really don't think such program exists.thanks for your help. that's all i need to know |

Solve : Someone tricking my email account...? |
Answer» HI everyone..... I just found this place...seems great....hopefully I can help someone too... First of all....I am not PC illiterate, but this one has got me.... Someone...or probably some mass emailer has my Hotmail account tricked.... I keep receiving unsolicited email into my Hotmail inbox... I have it filtered pretty good.....as this is the first time it has happened in 10 years.... That stuff usually goes to the junk email... I blocked it in ever way I could find in the header.... Now if I hit reply..... It comes right back to myself as if I sent it in the first place... I am posting header below...if anyone can look at it and offer help... Thanks.... ada56 From : [emailprotected] <[emailprotected]> Sent : Sunday, March 18, 2007 8:30 AM To : <[emailprotected]> Subject : RE: [emailprotected] Hot Stock Alert 387618638 | | | Inbox MIME-Version: 1.0 X-Originating-IP: [255.620.1.153] X-Originating-Email: [[emailprotected]] X-Sender: [emailprotected] Received: from n1764dvp64vtzag ([84.204.103.12]) by bay0-mc9-f11.bay0.hotmail.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.2668); Sun, 18 Mar 2007 08:30:36 -0700 Received: (qmail 7983 by uid 386); Sun, 18 Mar 2007 06:30:39 +0300 X-Message-Info: txF49lGdW40l17Il/GaoiM4rdzRdmIHKPthlmq24olqo+YyO7BZtA9ZdtyLlGSRT Return-Path: [emailprotected] X-OriginalArrivalTime: 18 Mar 2007 15:30:37.0115 (UTC) FILETIME=[609898B0:01C76972] PLEASE list all of your protection programs...ada56, To be PERFECTLY honest...I don't believe this has anything to do with any malware infestation on your computer. This is what's happening in your hotmail account: The original sender of this email is a "spammer" sending out info about stock alerts. You can verify this from the "From:" field in the original email header. However, the sender has changed the reply to email address to point to your hotmail account, so when you reply to it...you are receiving the reply. It's not a problem with your machine, but the way the original email was configured when it was sent to you. I could go on about email headers, however, the best thing to do would be to just block the sender of the original email in the Mail preferences of your hotmail account. Whatever you do...never...I mean NEVER...reply to an email if you don't know who it's from. If you do, they got your email address and then sell it to other companies who, in turn, will start spamming you as well. So...you may want to read the following: http://www.stopspam.org/email/headers.html It gives you detailed information about e-mail headers... It may be a little difficult to understand, however, it is good reading. Also, referencing patio's reply...it would also be a good idea to stay on top of your computer's malware protection, but like I said...I don't think this is the issue here. It's just a SPAM email with the header information changed so that if you reply to the original sender, it gets redirected to your hotmail account. I hope you found this info useful... |

Answer» hello friends, Why on Earth is this a Poll ? ? for a new, i think so..I voted "i dont know". Seriously, why is it a poll? And why are the 3 threads you have started on different issues also all polls? And did that solve your problem or do you need more assistance?Devesh use "new topic " on the top right of the page instead for starting a new thread.Quote from: Devesh Sharma on April 04, 2007, 01:01:06 AM Password Field is autometically filled. There are programs that do that for you. I cant remember which ones though. Try to search google for something.Normally you can disable the AUTO COMPLETE option throght the Internet optin as Calum suggested. If you wanted to, you could also clear out your Cookies, because this automatically CLEARS Auto-Save settings. You should also clear out Passwords. You can do this by going to: Tools > Internet Options > General (it's already in this tab, though) > Delete (under the sub-heading Deleting History) This is for IE7, but I think it MIGHT be the same for different browsersPoll not necessary; removed. The poll was stupid. Anyway, Devesh Sharma, has anything we've said helped? |

Solve : a safe replacement for I.E and how to UNistall I.E. Had enough of it! Thanks.? |
Answer» HI, people: You'll probably find this ridiculous, but I've had my p.c. for a week, am 61 and have no idea what "plug-ins" etc. are, but I know I've had ENOUGH of Internet Explorer and I READ that Opera's good and safe, but they want $40.00 to delete some features. (What's that about "free"?) Anyway, I'm learning all I can about p.c.'s from About & Cnet, but the tech-talk creeps in there and I get horribly lost and discouraged. I hope someone will be able to tell me what I can replace I.E. with and I really hope it's easy to download. (Opera was difficult to understand). I went to Microsoft Help and could not possibly follow their uninstall directions for I.E. Great Scott - is there ANYbody on-line who doesn't think everybody else is in p.c. university? I SO appreciate ANY help ANYBODY can TRY to give me! Many THANKS, Ann Google for Firefox. Don't uninstall IE, just set Firefox as your default browser because you will need IE for Windows updates. You can have more than one browser on a machine and just use the one you prefer...this will not HARM anything. Actually removing IE can cause nothing but trouble and you need it if only for Microsoft Updates so leave it alone. I would suggest FireFox. It's been my browser of choice for many years now and is secure and highly customisable... I'm not aware of Opera charging for anything lately as it's supposed to be free as well. Try FireFox you won't be dissappointed. |

Solve : Question about history? |
Answer» Thanks, dummy; I'll give this a try. I APPRECIATE your answer.Quote from: sportsgirl on March 26, 2007, 10:09:59 AM Ok - I respect you answer and appreciate your replies. It's not so much that it's a sensitive question...it's just a bit of a gray area. Snooping/spying can be very problematic. Maybe what you want to do is innocent, but someone else might come along and READ certain information and think "Hey, I can totally use that against so-and-so!" I think creating different user accounts is a good idea and if you follow along with the instructions, it should work just fine.I definately understand what you are saying, Matt, and thanks again for your response. Would anyone happen to know what the default setting is for the number of days something stays the Internet "history." My laptop is currently at "0," is that what it starts at, or was it manuallly CHANGED? Also, if I go under Internet Options/settings/view files and there is a cookie there from a Web site, are there other options for how it might have gotten there besides actually visiting that particular site? Thanks, again, everyone for all your useful information - this technically-challenged girl has been learning a lot!The default setting is 9 days. It has been manually changed.Quote from: sportsgirl on March 28, 2007, 06:37:26 AM I definately understand what you are saying, Matt, and thanks again for your response. Thanks. that's what I figured about the history. What about the question in red?Cookies are often added by advertisements. If you go to MySpace, you'll probably get cookies from four or FIVE different servers when visiting a site. However, the actual MySpace cookies, I assume, would only be added by the site itself. Perhaps Cookie Central might be of some interest to you.I don't do board colors, so there is no question in red. Yes, it is possible for a cookie from a domain different from the one visited to be set.I'll check out cookie central, thanks. Is it possible for a cookie to be in the files if you haven't accessed the Internet that day? For example, let's say there is a cookie from a Web site and it says: LAST accessed 3/26 9:15 a.m. Would the computer/Internet have had to be on at that time for it to say that?Where does it say this - in Windows Explorer, or inside the cookie itself? If there's a trust issue here by the way, I suspect use of the laptop may be the least of your worries. On the other hand, if you would like simply to install some safeguards on your laptop, you have a lot of options. Do you know what you would like to achieve, ultimately? You can find a free "index.dat scanner at http://soft.em-tnt.com Download the "index.dat scanner" Sites visited are shown. |

Solve : Out of ideas and patience? |
Answer» I'm running a pirated version of Windows XP (a fact I just learned. I'm pretty SURE I thought I was paying for a legit copy), so of course Microsoft won't touch me with a ten foot pole. So I've turned to you. I recently got Comcast broadband and it worked fine for a week but then I had to use their Desktop Doctor everytime I started my computer to reset all the Internet settings. I called them about that several times but they couldn't explain why I had to go through that everytime. I tolerated it reasonably well until explorer started to crash. I get this send/don't send report window, or it simply freezes. None of my passwords are saving and I'm having to reset all internet settings every time I start the computer. Even though I've uninstalled all of comcast's programs and run anti VIRUS and anti spyware software, these issues continue. |
