Solve : PHP problem?

Answer»

Well, at first the different ISP was the only difference I could see. Then it started on the school's internet as well, which comes from a different ISP. Also, the problem started at the exact same time the ISP had a hardware failure a few weeks ago. I honestly don't know much about PHP, but I can't think of anything the ISP WOULD have done that would have affected PHP pages only. I've talked to them, and they said everything should be normal now and that it was something on my end, not their end. (Of course, they always say that, don't they?)

As to how or why the problem was created... well, usually when my internet gets hosed for speed, PHP and XML pages start loading as text only. LIKE I said, normally this stops when my ISP replaces the gerbil that powers their SERVER. But this time, the problem hasn't entirely fixed itself. I'm trying to find out at what level the failure occurred and who I should be talking to.

See, internet in Thailand is all controlled by CAT (Communications AUTHORITY of Thailand), if they have a failure in their equipment, everyone suffers. It goes CAT -> ISPs -> end users. ISPs are not allowed a direct line out, makes it easier for the government censor... er, I mean monitor the internet. Anyway, if it was a hardware failure at CAT, that might explain why I started having problems at school as well. To find out where the problem occurred might be difficult though. They don't always know, or willingly give out, that information.

At home, the desktop is wired directly to the router and the laptop USES wireless. At the school, the laptop is wired in the router in their library or, at times, connected wireless to a different router (not the one in the library).

I'm also going to take a look from my girlfriend's laptop tonight. She's finally back from home after Chinese New Year, so I can have access to her machine and see how if it works out or not.Ok, well here's where I am...

I deleted my IE6 cookies, again, and PHP seems to work again. So I went in and wiped my Firefox cookies, but it's still not working right, but only in Firefox now.I'd be shopping for a new ISP...I believe, he said, it's his only choice, but I may be wrong.
quaxo, try to start FF in Safe Mode (FF Safe Mode):
Start>Run, type in:
firefox -safe-modeOk... weird. The problem has finally corrected itself. Oh well... hahaDid anyone say....computer world mysteries?

Solve : Someone help, or I may be in trouble for a long time.?

Answer»

Ok, so i was looking at some sites of "questionable content" TODAY, and everything was GREAT. I was careful to cover my TRACKS and delete history, but still the sites show up in the browser drop down box. Does anyone know what I should do here? Also is there any other pieces of evidence that i should destroy? Any help would be appreciated. We will need to know what browser (don't forget the version) and version of Windows you use.Its internet explorer, im not sure which version however and im using windows xp

ps. im not real good with computers. thats probably obvious.Click on Help/About in IE and it will show the version #

And don't worry ...that's why we're here.its internet explorer 7.0In IE select Tools --> Internet Options.
On the General tab click the Delete... button.
If you want to wipe your browsing history COMPLETELY click the Delete All button.
If you have saved passwords you want to keep then don't click the Delete All button.
Instead click the buttons that deletes files, cookies, history and forms.

If you want to stop IE from saving website addresses you've visited, click the Content tab.
Click the Settings button in the AutoComplete frame.
Uncheck WEB addresses.
Hit Ok when done.
thanks a lot, i really appreciate it.My pleasure

Solve : Internet explorer 7 and Flash Plugin problems?

Answer»

Hi,
I am using IE7 on windows vista home prem, everything was fine in regards to sites detecting flash and SHOCKWAVE plugins etc however over the last few days certain sites are now stating that i do not have the adobe flash plug-in and REFERS me to adobe to download. At this page even adobe STATES I don't have flash installed After reinstalling (I've TRIED about 20 times!!) it installs fine and even plays the flash movie. GOING straight from installation to known sites that fail to detect flash they still come up with the error, doing the same then restarting IE7 and trying the same sites again still comes with the same error.

Can anyone please help, using mozilla appears to work alright but is slower than IE7!!

Many thanks ppl.

Try complete Flash uninstall: http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
Then, install fresh copy.

Solve : Certain pages won't load in Firefox, IE7?

Answer»

I've tried both Firefox and IE7, and they are both having the same problem.
I will load up certain pages fine, but then others come up as "Page cannot be displayed" . If I try those same pages LATER they SOMETIMES work, and the ones that worked previously no longer do.
I just recently had to reformat my computer and reinstall everything. These pages were working fine before, but could that be something to do with it?Have you checked MS for all updates and gotten the latest VERSION of Java www.java.com

Solve : Internet Explorer 6 problem after Malaware/Spyware !?

Answer»

Download, and install AVG free antivirus: http://free.grisoft.com/
OR...
Download, and install AVAST! free antivirus: http://filehippo.com/download_avast_antivirus/
AND...
Download, and install Comodo free firewall: http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/ (don't forget to disable Windows firewall before Comodo installation)

Download, and install free ThreatFire: http://www.threatfire.com/, which will give you real-time protection against malwares.
It won't interfere with your antivirus, nor firewall.

You should be OK, but post HJT log, just in case...OK

Solve : Clicking the IE icon gives me an error?

Answer»

Just thinking ALOUD before I got all info requested...
After some search, it may be some IE plug-in giving a problem.
It won't hurt to go Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab, and hit RESET button.
Restart computer.I'm not sure about a meaning of my LATEST find, but the KEY in question is responsible for:

;@="WWW Browser"
I guess, I did enough for today, and I'm out.
I hope, I'll find some new info, I asked for, tomorrow when I got back here.
Night, guys. Thanks Broni. The error only COMES up when I click Start and the IE icon. When I click out of the error, it directly take me to windows and displays two windows, then one disappears and I'm left on my homepage. I tried just hitting the IE icon on my desktop (not thru the Start FUNCTION) and it doesn't give me the error popup. That's one of my problems so far.

Another one is with my OE. It has been acting funny the past two weeks. I was able to receive my mail, but alot of time with errors. Saying that I was getting disconnected. I try to connect the internet while I'm on the OE, but still fails to receive or send mail. I tried sending a message last night and I did see the Synametic (sp?) box on the lower right side of my screen pop up stating that it was scanning the messaged, but then an error came up saying internet got disconnected. So something is causing it to disconnect everytime I get on OE. Did you try any of my suggestions?

Solve : Traceroute & Ping failure - cannot connect to some sites?

Answer»

I have spent HOURS on the phone with my ISP trying to RESOLVE this problem, to no avail. I've tried rebooting & restarting everything. I've tried clearing cache.

Solve : proxy servers for speeding sites operations (externally)?

Answer»

pls if anyone has any clear info on that i'll appreciate it.thanksNot sure what your after here...
But i will say that many secure sites that detect a proxy may not work because of it.
What is it you are trying to do ? ?well MAYBE am using a proxy right but i need one to open a particular site thats usually too slow on IE and its a site for exam registrations.just need one for either mozilla or opera
i mean compatible wise if anyWhy do you need a proxy for exam registrations?
If you're trying to speed up access to a slow site, an open proxy will rarely make it FASTER. The only exception is if the proxy has a cached version of the site. But on sites where you need to submit information, and I suspect you need to on a exam registration site, a cached version won't do any good.

Ohh and a proxy should work regardless of browser, so there is no compatibility issues (unless you use some ancient browser).ok then do you any ONES or sites that i can get them from?google proxy LIST

Solve : IE7/WMP11 online media play problem *SOLVED*?

Answer»

Hi everyone,

Can someone with IE7 please visit this LINK:

http://www.trugroovez.com/forums/whats-your-top-10-dance-tunes-of-all-time-t6238,start,30.html

And tell me if they are able to play one of the songs I have uploaded?

For some reason, either my browser of WMP settings are preventing me from playing them. I am able to download them (RIGHT click save) so I know the links are fine.

Can anyone tell me how I can get my WMP to pop-up & play them online in the way god intended?

Thanks for any advice...This is seriously getting to me...

I actually noticed a while back that WMP was taking over my browser, whereby I would click on an MP3 link & WMP would take up the existing webpage, I would have to navigate back with the browser just to close WMP.

I used to be able to click on a link to a media file such as an MP3 & WMP would open seperately (not in the IE browser window) & play the file.

What's happening now, is a new IE window/tab will open with the 'Internet Explorer cannot display this page' message, it's like IE has intergrated with WMP as my default media player!

I've searched through all WMP help files, WMP settings, IE settings, Real Player settings... nothing.

Please help, I don't want to reinstall WMP as all my file association settings/icons/context menu entries get 'defaulted' & it's just a BIG hassle...

I don't want to change my browser either so please don't RECOMMEND it, that's not a solution.

Thanks for any helphai.

I am using IE7 and i checked the URL it's WORKING fine.there is no problem with link

Thank,

CRThanks mate, appreciate thatneljan ........ Your link works just fine using IE7

dl65 lol, I know mate, thanks, but I'd like to get them working for me!

So when you open the link did WMP open up seperately? When I go there with IE7, and click on download link, a pop-up asks me, if I want to open it with QuickTime, or save.Must be something to do with Quicktime being your default player for that type of file perhaps? Most likely.I'll give it another 24hrs, see if anyone has any ideas, then reinstall...

It was to do with me removing the 'open' command in the association for WMA files on my computer.

I removed 'open' because I didn't see an 'open' entry in the context menu & had 'play' instead.

Open must be a default necessary hidden entry or something

If anyone experiences similar problems, just restore the default settings for the association of your media files making sure there is an open command (even if you can't see it in the context menu).

Solve : IE became "inactive"??

Answer»

I've got a curious problem with Internet Explorer.
I'm using Windows XP SP2 and I figured out my problem is not concerning a specific version of IE.

I started out with IE7 running just great for several months but somehow for the last TWO days I lost active contents of certain websites.
Windows Update for instance loads, but when the status bar says "done" there's nothing on the screen. The same happens with the first website IE shows (in my case doesn't show) after re-installing or resetting IE7, http://runonce.msn.com/runonce2.aspx
Other Microsoft websites like http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx seem to run without any glitches untill I try to click one of the javascript links (nothing happens)
Google and many other websites seem to work just fine, untill I run into scripts.
I don't get error messages, IE doesn't crash, scripts just don't seem to run.
Adsense advertisements for instance don't show (which would be nice if I didn't need it to show on websites I'm making myself) and active menu's in websites don't either.

When I go to http://www.java.com/en/ I'm not only unable to see all the applets running on the website, I also notice the website being a mess as if it is missing the CSS file.
https://www.google.com/adsense/ loads, but I don't see the block where I can fill in my account name and password.

What I've done so far:

- Resetted the Internet Explorer settings in the advanced internet options menu (several times)
- Restored advanced settings in the advanced internet options menu.
- cleaned all Internet explorer files.
- ran virusscanner (I've got Norton AV running at all times with daily scans scheduled) to scan on all DRIVES, nothing found.
- ran HITMAN Pro throughout the night cleaning the computer of spy- and ad-ware (I do this EVERY week).
- lowered security and privacy to lowest settings.
- ran LSPFix and WinSockX.
- re-installed Java (the verification on Java's website tells me installation was succesfull)
- Un-installed IE7, found same problem with IE6 and re-installed IE7.
- ran installation program for IE7 which tells me it cannot download and install updates. It tells me to go to the Windows Update site (which of course doesn't work on my computer).
- and most of this I've done in both normal and safe mode.
- Switched off popup-blocker (though I know it's pretty unlikely that that is the problem).

As you can see I've done a lot already to fix this problem but nothing so far has even showed me some improvement.
I'm starting to get pretty desperate to get this to work.
Please, if somebody has an idea as to what could be wrong give me a reply.

ps... I know I know... there's always Firefox, but first... I need IE to work to make websites and check my pages and second... that's what I'm using since my IE problems anyways.Does Firefox work OK?

Very nice. All clean.

You MAY checkmark this line in HJT:
- O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SUPERAntiSpyware] C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SUPERAntiSpyware.exe
and let HJT fix it, since you don't need SAS as a startup.

Download, and install CCLEANER: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds. Get "Slim" version.
Read CCleaner instruction here: http://www.jahewi.nl/ccleaner/ccleaner.html, and run CCleaner

How is your computer doing?i do have ccleaner.com v2.02.527
do i steel need slim version ?Not really. Slim version just comes without Google bar, or whatever bar it is.Ggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllliiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiii!
YOU ARE THE MAN

ITS WORKING AS BRAND NEW

but i would like to know what was the problem and how can i avoide same problem happening in future?

I'm glad, you're happy, but you have to spell this:
Quote

Ggaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllliiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiii!
for me but what should i do to avoid this in future?

what did i have done which created that stupid problem?

please answerIt's almost impossible to pin-point what was your exact problem, since your computer had several infections.
It's almost impossible to prescribe fool-proof protection, but there are some general rules.
Read here: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial82.html

I'd also recommend one extra piece of protection...
Download, and install free ThreatFire: http://www.threatfire.com/, which will give you real-time protection against malwares.
It won't interfere with your antivirus, nor firewall.so i have Hijackthis, Superantispyware, Threatfire and Malwarebytes' Anti-maleware and ccleaner on my PC
do i need to carry all of them.?

the reason why is they are in my system startup/systemtry and making my pc a bit slower at startup

please adviceThe only program from the above list, which you should have as a startup is ThreatFire, which gives you real-time protection.
All others can be disabled as startups, because they are OFF-line scanner. No need to have them running all the time.

HuH ? ?I SUGGEST that you stick to &. It is safer and has a cooler look and u can open multiple tabs. You should stick with it a few days and SEE if you get used to it. Thats how i started using Firefox..I hated it at first, but here is a link to download IE6

Solve : Explorer user prompt?

Answer»

I stumbled onto a foreign SITE that calls for an "Explorer USER Prompt". Whatever I hit; cancel, the "X" box or enter, the same thing happens. I get another box saying something that I think is in Polish. I hit "OK" or enter and I automatically go back to the "Explorer User Prompt" box. I sign off of AOL and when I come back the same thing happens, not letting me go anywhere else on the page. I've shut down and restarted my COMPUTER and the same thing happens again. It looks, like you caught something.
I assume, this is IE. Do you have Firefox installed?

In order to get you going, try this...
Go Start>Control Panel
Double click on Java.
In General tab>Temporary Internet Files, click on Settings button.
In next window, click on DELETE files button.
In next window, make sure both boxes are checkmarked, and click OK.

Restart computer, and try IE again.
If it's successful, we'll have to check your security status.I'd steer clear of that site...what's on there that you need so badly ? ?
If you have ActiveX enabled you could be in for a World of hurt.

Solve : [AD] Symbol??

Answer»

Why do I keep seeing this SYMBOL is place of BANNER ads and other things?
IM running just windows firewall.... You must have some kind of ad blocking software installed.
What BROWSER do you use?
Are you certain you've got no other protection enable other than Windows Firewall? If not, you really should install at least anti-virus and anti-spyware software.

I use firefox but I see it when I use IE aswell.
I did have outpost firewall installed.
Which I thought was causing this.
But the trial has ended and I still see SAID symbol. What security programs do you have on your computer?Do you still have Outpost installed?
Because it do contain an ad blocking feature.

Thanks for your help so far:
weldboy0How is the cable modem connected to your computer?
Is it just a cable directly from the modem to your computer?Yes it is just a cable from modem to computerTurn computer off. Disconnect modem from power source. Wait 30 sec. Reconnect. Restart computer.
Try again.
Does Firefox do same thing?

Solve : Saving downloads to a folder.?

Answer»

My OLD computer would allow me to click on something I intended to download and then choose which folder I wanted the downloaded file to go. I got a new computer with Vista and it came with IE version 7, now when I click a download it doesn't ask me where to save it. This is important for my sims 2 downloads. If I download something like "EYES" or "clothes" I need to put them in the appropriate folder. Is there any type of options or settings i can change in either FIREFOX or IE that will ask me where I want to save the downloaded content before I download it?In FireFox it is in Tools/Options/Main/Downloads...check "always ask me where to save "

Good luck with IE...i never use it.Oh man if that works you have no idea how much trouble you saved me.

The only reason I used IE was because it asked where to save the downloads.

I'll try that, thank you SOOOOO much. You're more than Welcome...Quote from: queenbunnywitch on January 29, 2008, 09:19:14 PM

By default, IE downloads in Windows Vista go to the Downloads folder; I believe that's a standard folder with Vista. But, you can select another folder. When you initiate a download, you have the option to Run or Save. Choose Save, then you'll see a Save As panel with a button titled Browse Folders, at the lower left of the panel. Click on it and browse to the folder you want to download to.

Solve : Best Browser - OPERA, FIREFOX or IE6?

Answer»

I'm running W98SE and have tried all of them, but have had PROBLEMS with each - Firefox takes forever to load and I don't seem to be able to print anything - all I get is a 'System Error' message. It also doesn't open all features in E-Post, Canadian Tire Financial and some Gov't of Can Web-sites.
OPERA and IE6 load about 5 times as fast but Opera is not compatible with my Bank [TD], Gov't of Can or E-Post - also, the longer I am on-line [dial-up] the slower Firefox and IE6 seem to get, while Opera seems to maintain about the same conection speed.Well, from a compatibility-standpoint, IE clearly seems to be the best choice. So, it looks like you need to focus on what can be done to minimize the slowdown you experience during online sessions.

Have often do you normally clear your browser cache? Are you using any spyware/adware removal tools? Are you using any disk cleanup tools such as Windows Disk Cleanup or CCleaner? I suggest you get CCleaner and run its Windows scan and its Registry scan. For the latter, backup your registry when prompted to do so. And, repeat that scan; it will sometimes find additional items upon repeat scans.

How much free space do you have on your hard drive? How long since you DEFRAGMENTED it?

I run 'Abexo free Reg Cleaner' about once a week and do a back-up from that.

How much free space do you have on your hard drive? How long since you defragmented it?

The system has 368Meg of SDRAM and 2 x 10G HD's, one 85% free and the other 93% free - had a new installation of W98SE to a formatted HD about a month ago, so that should be OK - my MOBO is a socket 370 - could it just be 'old age' creeping up?

Also, are you using a firewall? What type of Internet service are you using, dialup, DSL, or cable? Can you elaborate on how long you are online before you notice this slowing down?IE6, Firefox and Opera in that order if you are talking about in terms of compatibility. ALTHOUGH Firefx and IE6/IE7 are pretty close.

Opera is still following webpage standards too strictly which causes various webpages to not load properly or not load well.

Solve : ie 7 all the windows close out ...?

Answer»

Hi,
i m having problem with my ie7....if i open multiple web PAGES at a same time and then when i CLOSE any of the one page i m getting message " I E has encounterd a problem and needs to close. we r sorry 4 inconvenience. " send error report ..dont send with this option....and after that all the WEBPAGES closed out AUTOMATICALLY.......

plz i need help, thanks.Version of Windows?
When did this problem start?
Did you install or remove anything around that time? Including addons for IE.
What protection software do you have installed? (Anti-virus, spyware, firewall)i m using xp
yes, its start after install macafee security pack.
so should i uninstall that ?Well that depends... if don't care about keeping McAfee I would suggest you remove it, simply because it isn't a very good product. You can get a better protection suite for free.
After you've uninstalled it I suggest you get the McAfee removal tool from here. McAfee is known for not wanting to leave a computer once its been installed.
After you've removed it verify whether it solved your problem or not.

Then get:
AVG Free Anti-virus
Comodo Firewall (If you want better protection than the Windows Firewall).
Thx
it work...i delet that mcaffe and now its working fine....
thanks one more time......Blade, the same thing was happening to me. Please read my thread and you can solve this problem w/o losing your Macafee!

Solve : IE 7.0, AOL mail?

Answer»

Hello,
I am using IE 7.0 (which I very WELL may change after reading the browser ratings) on an E-machines T5026 w/512MB RAM, 160GB HDD, Pentium 4 PROCESSOR, DVD +/-RW, CD ROM. Norton Antivirus (not up to date), AVG spyware/malware, Spybot are being used.
I use AOL as my (free) mail service (which may also change).
MY Problem is: My (opened) email windows are minimizing by themselves.I recently installed the AVG and RAN it; the Spybot has been on my system for awhile.
I have cleared the temp. I'net files, cleaned my HDD, deleted history, and the aol email windows are still minimizing on their own.
Any suggestions? If I get rid of AOL, what is a good alternative? Yahoo, Hotmail, any suggestions?

Thanks, GregQuote from: gregiski on January 27, 2008, 09:20:11 PM

Is AOL your ISP or you're just using a free AOL email account? If AOL is not your ISP, doesn't your ISP offer an email account?

Do you want POP3 mail so that you can use an email client, such as Outlook Express, on your computer to download email to your computer, or is only web-mail OK? If web-mail is OK, then Yahoo, Hotmail, or Gmail would be fine, in my opinion. Gmail does offer POP3 at no cost, Yahoo!'s free account is web-based, but their premium account (an annual fee) does feature POP3 mail.

Solve : Information "popup" doesn't appear- www.live.com- live image search?

Answer»

When I search images on the live search website, I could hover the mouse over a picture and it would jump into a small window with a white border- it would show information about the IMAGE- file size, name, dimensions. This worked a few days AGO. Now when I hover the mouse, the popup type window doesn't appear- all I GET is a small tag that appears and lists the file name. Another nearby computer works fine- the window appears as I remember. Both COMPUTERS are running XP SP2. Browser is Internet explorer 6, sp2. I tried system restore to a date before the problem this week, but it didn't help. ALSO deleted all cookies and temp internet files folder. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.Quote

When I search images on the live search website, ...
Exactly what website are you talking about? What's the URL?Sorry- I'm referring to www.live.com- the former MSN search, I believe. Click on the images tab.

What browser function makes this window appear?I'm using IE 7 and Firefox browsers. I looked at www.live.com with both and did an images search with both. Both browsers displayed the results fine, but IE does not show "information about the image- file size, name, dimensions." Firefox does show that info.

This is what I see in IE 7. I also started my old Win 98SE computer, with IE 6, and viewed an images search results. It worked the same, it only showed a small tag that appears and lists the file name.

If that other computer you mentioned is getting the "information about the image- file size, name, dimensions" with IE 6, I don't know what to tell you to get IE to do that. So, all I can suggest is install Firefox.

Solve : DSL connection times out?

Answer»

I have AT&T DSL with a new 2Wire modem and Windows XP. I have no firewall up and I've tried it on both Mozilla and IE browsers with the same result. I've tried getting help from AT&T but nothing they've done seems to WORK. The connection is perfect, both on their end and my own. I'm getting a good signal and the modem is working as advertised. My wife's COMPUTER's internet is also working fine.

I've also installed and reinstalled my network adapter/driver (Dell Wireless 1370 WLAN) and AT&T's software, but to no avail. Also, it seems to work fine after I FIRST log into windows for about a minute or so. Then it starts to slow down.

I PRETTY sure it is a problem with my computer. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Thanks

Solve : Automatically play sounds in Thunderbird?

Answer»

I was wondering if it's possible to have Thunderbird automatically play sounds or music that are attached to EMAILS. I know in Outlook if you click on a message that has sound attached to it, it will automatically play without having to double click the attachment and open the sound. If this can be done in Thunderbird how do I do it?

Thanks for your help.TB doesn't have ability to play sounds. However This Extension will add media player controls to TBird and allow you to play those attachments while still checking your mail...

FoxyTunesGood point.Okay. Thanks for the info.Looks like you've already got a solution, but for what it is worth, if anyone else happens along reading this thread:

I just happened to be doing something in Thunderbird a few minutes ago, and saw something that I'd forgotten all about. It reminded me of this thread.

I have an add on named Launchy installed.
Description and download are here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/81
http://gemal.dk/mozilla/launchy.html

It auto-magically picked up on Winamp here, and has it on the pick list when right clicking an item in an email. This is not quite what the op asked for, but I think it is very close.
If not Winamp, then Windows Media Player is mentioned in the description
on the above page links.

The same add-on can be installed in T-Bird, Firefox, and NVU.

I'm always looking for more suggestions whenever I can get them. Thank you WillyW for continuing the search to help me. I really think you hit the nail on the head for this one. I'll have to give your suggestion a try. This sounds EXACTLY like what I'm looking for. I'll give it a try over the weekend and let you know.
Thanks to everyone that replied! That worked pretty good. I wish Thunderbird would play sound automatically, but this works good too. Thanks!Quote from: patio on January 16, 2008, 05:34:46 PM

[file CLEANUP - saving space - attachment deleted by admin]Actually I think it must be 2.0 since they start at Gecko version 1.8.1.
But gamerx365 if you could please select Help --> About Mozilla Firefox, the last line should tell you the software version. yeah i dont know. I found firefox.exe in my program files and found that version THING in its properties.
