Hey IVE been having a problem running computer games the frame rate is terrible now i WOULD like to point out that i am a beginner at this and know close to zero about my computer. Now what i do know is i use windows vista and have 4gb of ram my processor is a AMD phenom(tm) 8450 triple-core processor. my video card at least i think is a NVIDIA GeFore 6150SE nForce 430 if i said that correctly now i am running the lowest ingame details possible and it is playable but ANNOYING the framerate is terrible my in game resolution is 800X600 now from what i said i have no idea what i am doing is my stuff out of date? hope not cause im poor. Help!ill love you if you help me

I was pleased with AvP Gold and AvP 2 was decent. Just want to know if they kept up with the qualityAre you talking about Aliens vs. Predator (2010) ?

I've played the original and it's awesome, but the NEW ONE has better graphics but is way shorter storyline and feels like something is missing from the gameplay. It's more a multiplayer fun game RATHER than singleplayer like the original. Also uses STEAM Client and it's a huge size game like two double layered DVDs for all the cool graphics and video.

or are you actually talking about AVP3 - Aliens: Colonial Marines, which I don't think has a release DATE yet? Looks very interesting thou. I've loved the previous old games in the series.I do have AvP 2010 if that's what you mean. i have a hp compaq nx610, with 512 ram, 1.73 ghz pentium M 40gb hdd with xp. BEFOR i was running xp, and i could play command and conquer generals. but i have recently reformatted the laptop. and now i can not runn the game. i load it up from the disk, and after the opening cut scene it goes into 256 color mode and i get this error, the ialmrnt5 display driver has stopped working normally. Save your work and reboot the system to restore full display. the spec of the game are 800 mhz cpu 128 ram 32 mb graphics 3.2 gb hdd space.

I played a game back in the early 2000's or late 1990's that I have no idea what the name is. Here's what I remember: you had three basic unit types: bowman, swordsmen, and then dwarfs. The dwarfs threw BOMBS that exploded after bouncing once or twice. There were levels in the woods, on farms, on a ship, and in some kind of cave. You controlled various numbers of units. You FOUGHT some kind of zombie like enemies that varied in size and ABILITY. I think the cover had some guy standing on top of a pile of something, holding his hand up in victory, but I'm not sure on that. I hope someon can help me. Hey guys, I'm pretty sure not many of you have heard of this game but I'll tell you.

First off, I'm posting this to try to get more players to the game. I dont really get anything out of it except maybe new friends and the game already has a good ammount of players. I just think some of you may like this game and may see it to be intresting enough to try out.

What is Face of Mankind?

Face of Mankind is an MMORPG game based in a futuristic world.

Terms to Know:

Gank - The act of shooting someone without a justified reason.
Penalty Points (PP) - An ammount of points similar to a wanted level. *Explained Below*
Vortex - A transporter that can take you to other colonies.
Vorting - The act of using a Vortex.
Raid - The use of a men to attack a specified colony.
FoM - Face of Mankind.
DMC - DeMorgansCastle (The prison)

So, when you start, you'll be allowed to customize your chracter and come up with a name for yourself. It's traditional to use a RP name such as "Firstname_Lastname". It's not required but is recommended. Your name does NOT have to be your real name. From there, you may choose your faction. There are 8 factions to choose from, wich are listed below.

Law Enforcement Department (LED) - LED is the Law Enforcement for Face of Mankind. LED members may check criminals for PP and arrest them accordingly. They also have unique abilities, some being the ability to arrest criminals and use stun rounds. They often can be found guarding DMC.

Freedom Defense Corps (FDC) - FDC is the military faction of FoM. They may also arrest criminals but do in only very rare situations. They are often called during raids and primarly use LETHAL force. They are EXTREMLY deadly and well trained.

Guardians of Mankind (GoM) - The GoM are a rather peacefull faction. They are often in politics and are usually found to be just trying to play the game and have fun. But dont get too COCKY. GoM aren't afraid to *censored* their guns, GoM are pretty decent fighters. They aren't a good or a bad faction. They are more of a neutral faction. GoM will pull their guns if they NEED to.

Brotherhood of Shadows (BoS) - The BoS is a criminal faction. They are often drug kings & queens. They are often found selling drugs for their money and are ready to go off and pull a gun.

Eurocore (EC) - EC is a kinda of rebel faction. They are criminal aswell but they are very rebellous. None-the-less they are a good faction to consider joining.

Vortex Inc. (VI) - VI is a MINING guild. They are generally peacefull but like everyone else, still armed. They do not war often but will fight if called for.

Colonization & Mining Guild (CMG) - CMG is another mining guild. They are peacefull aswell but aren't afraid of a bit of a war. They are often miners on DMC. They generally keep a tight security with their home colony being DMC.

Mercanaries of The Blood (MoTB) - MoTB is not one to joke around with. MoTB is full of well trained fighters. They will fight for anyone doing anything for profit. They are ruthless. Even the last time I played, they had a contract to help defend DMC. They may not like certain factions, but they will buddy with you for the right price. They will get the job done, right, the first time. Definatly worth spending the money for a contract.

FoM is currently in an open beta. It is made by Duplex Systems but it's ran by...The players! The players run the game and decide their fate. There is soooo much more but if you're INTRESTED. Head of to fomportal.com and create an account. Download it and then head over to the Face of Mankind forums. You can find many helpful people on the forums willing to help you learn. You may also look at the tuturial videos Duplex has posted on youtube.

I had san andreas running off my usb stick and it crashes a lot, so i decided to put it into pc and problem solved.

A couple of years ago I obtained "Microsoft Flight Simulator" directly from Microsoft. Every TIME that I tried to install it I got different messages, not enough hard drive, etc. Yesterday I tried again to install it and received the following two messages:
1) " Error: 1935 An error occurred during the installation of Assembly Microsoft.FlightSimulator.SimConnect, publicKeyToken = “67c7c14424d61b5b” version “10.0.60905.0” type = “Win32”, processorArchitecture = “x86. Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT:0x80070002."
2) "Rolling back action"

Then, after nearly ten minutes, came the message:
3) "Error: -1603 Fatal error during installation. Consult Windows Installer Help (Msi.chm) or MSDN for more information"

So I googled HRESULT:0x80070002 and followed all of the directions, including defraging my hard drive. I also went to Msi.chm and looked up error -1603 and followed directions given there.

Then I tried to install Flight Simulator again, which takes nearly an hour , and exactly the same seires of messages came up. Does anyone know what can be done with this?

So it's lag then? but even if you fix the lag the speed of the game will still be the same.

I'm having a PROBLEM trying to get Jedi Knight: Dark Forces 2 to start a multiplayer game between the DELL Dimension 2350 and the HP Pavilion 7285 computers through TCP/IP. I enabled port forwarding for Jedi Knight in my family's router correctly, thus I had no trouble getting a TCP/IP multiplayer game going between the Dell and the HP Pavilion a1440n, but this problem eludes me. I tried hosting the multiplayer game on both computers in the basement, and the same problem resulted. The host game was detected, but upon clicking and trying to connect, I got a 'join error'. Can anybody help? I've got firewalls on both computers, and the older computer's firewall has settings that allow Jedi Knight to go through, and the other one is using ZoneAlarm. I'm suspecting the problem is with the older computer. I'm running DirectX 8.0 on that computer, and the others have DirectX 9.0c. I don't want to upgrade to that version unless that version of DirectX will fully support the Diamond MONSTER 3D II, which is installed on the old computer. However, I can get a serial connection working between the Dell and the older HP Pavilion. If I cannot resolve this, multiplayer games of Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith will be limited to two PLAYERS unless somebody brings a computer with a wireless internet connection that can run those games properly.Another thing of NOTE is that I cannot get a multiplayer game going between the old computer and the library computer (HP Pavilion a1440n). I tried everything. If only there were a way to get the game to wait longer for a connection before timing out.

It was pc game where you're controlling this circular HOVERING space pod robot around space ground. I remember that there was no music when flying around the map, and it was very dark. There was a central hub for it to regain ENERGY/fuel and it would need to extract ores from the land to take back to the hub to provide energy for upgrades or power ups on armor, engine, ore capacity, etc. The more ores you carry, the heavier & slower the pod would be. There were like these hovering aliens that would go after your robot and try to kill it. There were missions like ore extracting, but it was a demo so I don't know others. It was a demo on an hp pavilion laptop in 2005/06. HOPE this helps!Suppose It Was "Sky Roads PC Game"

Whenever I play Perfect World International on my laptop either immediately after I log in it crashes, 10-6hrs of play it crashes, it's just whenever I run it, it crashes. The majority of the time I play I also have ventrillo running as well so I can easily talk to PEOPLE (my touch-pad mouse has become very sensitive so it clicks on it's on sometimes). I've tried going to the advance properties for "My Computer" and disabling the auto-restart that only worked for an hour or two but then again it could have no worked at all since my laptop can run for up to 6hrs while the game is running.

Here's some extra information: I have a Dell Studio 16(I think), it came with Win Vista-64bit and I upgraded it to Win 7-32bit just recently. I've tried updating my drivers and graphics/video cards but they won't update. Any help? I don't like using my desktop because it has vista as well, and it's slowed over the years and freezes easily even when your doing something simple.

Ok so i INSTALLED fatal racing and i have music but there is no engine noise the sound fx are on any ideas? I'm using windows 98 and the game was made in 95 could that be the reason?Unlike newer games, DOS games need sound settings in order to work properly. Since these games were made, the way games handle sound has changed.

You might try running it in Dosbox.ok i will try that but win 98 isn't good enough? It's not that it's not good enough, but Windows 98 wasn't designed to run DOS games and not all DOS games will run properly in 98 either. While some could, there were OFTEN sound/music problems. Some would refuse to run at all (Crusader: No Remorse & Crusader: No Regret being two games I loved that lost playability in Windows 98).

The reason you're getting music and no sound effects is because the music is straight CD audio playing off the CD (according to what I've read about that game). In Windows 98, CD audio was passed through an audio cable straight to the sound CARD and out through the speakers. Even if a Windows 98 (or previous VERSION of Windows or DOS) COMPUTER locked up, CD audio would still continue uninterrupted.

This is no longer the case with most newer computers, as CD audio is dealt with differently now.

For me the definition of a game is simple

1: A contest with rules to determine a winner.
2: A single play of contest.
3: An amusement or pastime with a clear goal.

certainly not just waiting for a countdown timer.

OK, i was looking through ways of connecting the Xbox 360 to a monotor through the HDMI cable, i tried it on on ONE of my screens and it worked, problem is, the monitor is in a place where i rely do not want to put an xbox there, so i need a new one.

if there are any RECOMMENDATION than please say so, i am preferably looking for a Dell monitor as they support the attachable surround sound bar (it attaches to the screen which only works with dell monotors)

my computer is only a few months old. its really new, fast and its windows 7. it has 6 gb of ram, and PLAYS world of warcraft at amazing speeds. thats a computer game if u dont know. anyways my computer has way more then needed requirments to play the game. i could even play it on high settings without lag. lately tho, ive been getting very random outbursts of lag, and it slows down from the normaly 60 fps to 3-5 fps. i thought maybe it was just my settings were turned up too high(even tho it worked fine on them before) so i turned them all the way down. the lag happened again bringing me down to 3 fps. this low fps lasts around 5 minutes, then goes back to its super fast speed of 60 fps. it baffels me. i thought maybe it was spyware, but i have webroot spysweeper and run it all the time and i delete spysweeper if i even get any. i use mozilla firefox aswell. somone said maybe my computer is overheating but im now sure, i opened it up and blew out some dust with my breth but it still happens. any ideas?Welcome to the forums.

Not neccesarily. A failing hard drive can be a cause for certain programs and linked programs not running correctly.

Ok so about a WEEK ago I won a computer at auction. The computer is fairly powerful so i decided to install some GAMES on it. trackmania nations worked, gta vc worked, midnight outlaw also worked but when i tried 18 wheels of steel American long haul I get the folllowing error after pressing start on the mini menu

The processor is older and pretty slow ... your video card is very low end ... the motherboard is old ... your RAM isn't a great amount but that shouldn't have a great affect on gaming ... your HDD is also pretty old, and slow, which again wouldn't affect game performance but would affect load times, as well as the responsiveness of the machine. Where did you get this from? I hope you didn't pay much for it. I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but it may not be worth putting money into that system ...

I'm currently on a quest to get friend referrals for League of Legends, so I've come here to promote the game

League of Legends is a free MOBA (Multi-player Online Battle Arena) game very similar to the Warcraft III map/mod DotA (Defense of the Ancients). In the game you're a Summoner controlling your own champion in either a 5v5 scenario or a 3v3 scenario (with more coming in the future). There are currently over 50 champions to pick from and a new one arrives every 2 or 3 weeks.
If you're not familiar with DotA or the MOBA genre at all, it's very similar to the RTS genre.

The game is FREE to download and play. Although you can spend MONEY on it, you can't get an advantage over non-paying users by doing so. You can buy skins (costumes for champions) for example, but those are of course purely COSMETIC. So you can play for free without having to worry about paying users GETTING the advantage.

Maybe someone here may know the NAME of a game I'm trying to find it, but I don't remember the name of it. Someone who use to live down the street from me, but doesn't anymore had the game. Loaned it to me and my dad to play. Was BACK in the late 90's.
I'll try and describe the game as best as I can and possibly someone may know the name of it so I can try and buy it. In the game, we would have this room full of patients and based on the injuries or whatever, you have to decide the order they need to be seen. Then you treat them in the doctor office.

I found my old sims games and fancied having a play, trying to install but having some problems...

I install The Sims Deluxe followed by House Party, all is fine, add Hot Date and put the Deluxe disk in to do the updates, I run the updates and TRY to play the game but it tells me to run the updates again and ASKS if I want to unistall the game??

In case it was a problem with Hot Date I tried going straight to Holiday but the same THING happened.

I read the manual and it said to install the expansion packs BEFORE Deluxe, but how?? It says I need the Sims when I do this!!

ive installed Star Wars Knight of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lord on my Dell Desktop Studio. I have Vista Home Premium 32-bit Service pack 1, 3gigs of RAM, Intel Core 2 QUAD CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz. thats all i can really find out myself but here is the product page http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/product_support/product_support_central?c=us&l=en&s=gen&SystemID=Studio540s. I've run tests on SYSTEM requirements lab, it says everything is passed recommended settings, except my video card is below recommended. I have gotten the mss32.dll, patches, and have tried other fixes that deals with Vista with no luck. Thanks in advance. Also just curious, if my video card is not good enough to run Half-Life 2, Dawn of War, Rainbow Six: Vegas, Fear, and Call of Duty, then why can i play all those games?

Here is my problem.
When I TRY to create .bat file, it's not creating through cmd. Well it's not creating through anything. One of the lines says access is denied. I'm using WINDOWS 7. I don't remember having one of these lines on XP. What I understand is because of ADMINISTRATOR rights I cannot edit files inside the C:\ partition.
Sorry if I got this a BIT confusing.
Basically what I'm trying to ask is how do I make Windows 7 allow me to edit files in the C:\ partition? Thanks.

I'm trying to dig deep into my memory and pull out the name of this old DOS game I use to play. It was a city builder, but not really a city more like a small town. The play area was divided up into sections that could each be taken by placing a warehouse on them.

There was the basic gathering of food, water, wood, and I think metal maybe stone. All of this was stored in the warehouse which you could go into and see your stocks. Each warehouse could only hold so much of each item so you would need to build more to accommodate.

The game featured the FOUR distinct seasons where in winter the only people working would be the woodcutters, spring when the plants went in the ground, SUMMER where the fields grew and fall when the harvest would commence.

There was an inventor you could visit to make INVENTIONS that HELPED. I have a distinct memory of making hot air balloons that you could bomb your enemies from. But it's odd that this is the only memory of combat I have of the game. You could make lighting rods to prevent your buildings from being hit by lightning and set on fire.

There was a church you could visit and make a donation to to increase the peoples like of you or their overall happiness I can't remember which.

I have searched Google to no avail, looked through the MobyGames database with no luck. I just can't find the name of this game. If anyone out there remembers this one I would be greatly appreciative.

SethThis sounds a lot like Stronghold, to which there are many sequels and more updated VERSIONS. The only thing that doesn't sound familiar is the balloons and inventors part, but it's been a long long time since I played the first Stronghold.

I'm not the greatest with computers, but I build all of my own and I know my way around getting to what I want. This one, I cannot figure. It all started on Aion, had crashing problems that became more and more frequent as I played over the months. Now I cannot open simple games without constant CRASHES, and I cannot for the life of me figure out what's going on. Google GTA SA car mods, and go on any website, most of them have car mods (I suggest saving them on the desktop, as they are easy to find there). Then you must download a program called SAMI (San Andreas Mod Installer) to install them onto the game. You must also download the patch for GTA SA in order for the mods to work. After this, you open up SAMI, and then click on "Intsall a mod". Two boxs should come up, like in the 1st picture below. Make sure the cross is in "ZIP\RAR file". Click browse, and find the car you downloaded, and double click it, then click continue. A menu full of numbers should come up, but just click continue again. After that, a menu with all the carnames should come up, as in the screenshot below. You have to type in a custom name at the top, but it won't come up when you enter the vehicle on the game. After you have written the name, click install. Now when you go on the game, the car will be replacing whatever car you chose it to replace. (:

The game requires 2MB of VGA card memory and I got a 1GB ati O_OIf you are running Vista or Windows 7, sometimes the palette is corrupted in 256-color games such as that one (I had similar problems with Age of empires 1 and 2 and Command And Conquer).

Hi EVERYONE,

My brother's xbox live profile just slowly started discenegrating (i don't care if it's spelled wrong) and finally disappeared. We emailed microsoft and they informed US it was hacked/stolen so we are now going through a long process of figuring things out. In the meantime, I wanted to SECURE my gamer profile to my external Hard drive. Does anyone know of a WAY I could go about doing this? Thanks in advance!Im pretty sure you can just save the profile onto the hard drive for later withut the need of entering PASSWORDS and all that Without*see that "Modify" button on the lower right of posts? If you make a mistake you can Modify your post.
