Solve : Advice on taking desktop over a plane?

Answer»

Ill be doing some traveling in the NEAR future and will be gone for a long enough time that i would have to bring my computer with me to do work on.

unfortunately my work computer is a desktop. is it possible to bring a desktop over a plane in a check in baggage. i plan to wrap it in bubble wrap or even place bubble wrap inside the tower. but my concern is if it will get x-rayed.

i (like everyone else in the world really) wouldnt want the hdd to get damaged. i was thinking of taking that as a carry on but i would still have to pass it thru an x ray scanner.

any advice or information one could provide? im aware it will get tossed around or even dropped. case damage isnt an issue for me (its all PLASTIC no glass) as long as it doesnt end up cracked in half.

thanksIn my opinion, that is a bad idea.
Please explain in some detail why you cannot use a portable laptop computer for your work. The airlines are accustomed to having people take laptops as carry-on items.TSA also will have a field day with it. I had them pull me to the side when I had 2 laptops a Netbook and a Larger Laptop. They swabbed the laptops testing for explosive residue and then a bunch of questioning. I brought my netbook to have a small computer for on the plane and my larger laptop for the hotel room that I was staying at for 5 long weeks on a business TRIP.

Both on my trip out and back I was pulled to the side and laptops both x-rayed and both swapped and then lots of questions again because I was outside of the norm with 2 laptops.

Bringing a desktop with you you will draw the same attention as well as they can refuse for it to board in which your in a mess of burning a plane ticket or losing a computer if there is no one there to send it back home with.

Also, with a desktop computer unless it is an all in one you will NEED to bring a monitor with you and cables and keyboard and mouse.

You might get more than pulled to the side and questions such as a full cavity search because you stand out from the norm.

If I was in your situation I would strictly avoid the desktop computer even if its an all in one and invest in a laptop which will make you look like everyone else travelling. If the desktop has to go out with you then ship it out to your destination so it will arrive at your hotel. That's when lots of bubble wrap is needed. Then ship it back home when your done and insure it for its full replacement cost in case it GETS drop kicked like Ace Ventura so it can be replaced if destroyed. Put all important data on a thumb drive or cloud storage so that if destroyed you still have your important data, and don't ship the thumb drive with the computer in case it goes missing. Keep the thumb drive on you to make the trip back if you decide to store data on a thumb drive vs cloud storage. I just got a 128GB Flash Drive for $34.99 on sale the other day. Most projects would fit on 128GB or less.Investing in a laptop is the best solution. More convenient when traveling.

Solve : Gaming Laptop Are Bettter OR PC?

Answer»

HI guys,, i need yout guys opinion here, im planing to buy a gaming laptop msi ge62 it is come with

Windows 10
Intel Core i7-6700HQ (Skylake)
15.6 Full HD eDP Wide View Angle
NVIDIA Geforce GTX 970M 3GB
SteelSeries Programmable Full Color Backlit
1TB SATA HDD 7200RPM
12GB DDR4 2133MHz

but my friend told me to build a custom pc he said it would be better, than a gaming laptop, please submit your opinion here, thank you very much Gaming Laptops are somewhat overrated. They are typically non-upgradable, or if there are upgrades, they are either limited or proprietary. for example, you'd never be able to upgrade that to a GTX 1070. Further, they heavily compromise battery life for performance; that laptop get's a little over 3 hours of battery life with medium usage; and only 2 if actually using it for playing Games. Comapre that to the 10 hours I get on my Thinkpad T550 and you can see the heavy compromises made in the name of "Gaming".

Not to say there isn't a reason to ever get one, just that it's a weird niche because the "top-end" changes so frequently that even today in some ways that system is out of date. Eventually the laptop will be "old tech" and you'll still be left with it's limitations like poor battery life, which will get worse as it ages as well.

With a desktop you lose the portability (which even if just symbiotic with AC outlets, is still an advantage) but you get a more industry standard configuration which you can not only upgreade but even think ahead to future upgrades. Eg- if you get a 970, you can upgrade later to a 1070; if you get a 1070, you can upgrade to some new nvidia or AMD graphics card that is better in the future; if you get 2 8GB sticks of RAM for a motherboard with 4 RAM slots, you can later slap in another 2 8GB sticks to max it out to 32GB, etcand these upgrades tend to be more affordable for a desktop system even where they are possible for a laptop. If you don't need it to be portable, a desktop is almost certainly a better option. You can upgrade basically any component so it's unlikely you'll need to replace the entire machine a few years down the line, you can just upgrade parts that need to be upgraded. With a laptop you are usually limited to upgrading the drives and RAM, you're extremely limited when it comes to upgrading the CPU and video card. A desktop will also tend to perform better as the components in laptops (even gaming ones) are designed to use limited power and to not produce much heat so that they can work in a laptop.

That said, if you need it to be portable, then a laptop is your only option. Although, if you don't need gaming performance on the go, you may want to consider building a good desktop for gaming then getting a more basic laptop for when you need portability. This also has the advantage of the laptop being smaller and lighter with better battery life than a gaming laptop would be (gaming laptops tend to be large and heavy with very poor battery life).i'll choose for pc because we can update our hardware, and also save more cost than a high end gaming laptop, and pc if disrepair wa can easily repair it again, but notebook if we want to repair it will be more EXPENSIVE than pc, so i choose pc for gaming and work.Quote

i'll choose for pc because we can update our hardware, and also save more cost than a high end gaming laptop, and pc if disrepair wa can easily repair it again, but notebook if we want to repair it will be more expensive than pc, so i choose pc for gaming and work.

Thats the direction I would go is with the gaming desktop tower computer that can do all. I have a desktop computer that has Motherboard/CPU/RAM from 2009 which today 8 years later with a newer GeForce GT 730 video card is able to play newer titles with ok 30-60fps frame rate, but if it didnt have this video card upgrade ability it would have been stuck with the nVidia nForce 430 chipsets integrated video of a GeForce 6150SE GPU which is extremely weak to todays standards, and I have REMOVED the video card before to see just how bad it is and World of Warcraft for example warns me that the GPU is weak and I get 2 frames per second on the 6150SE with 256MB Shared Memory. While I get 30-60fps with the GeForce GT 730!

I have quite a few laptops that the whole reason why they are junk for gaming and I was given them for free is because the GPU's are not upgradeable, while the CPU is plenty of processing for the games. I have been given COSTLY when new Toshiba Qosmio laptops and other gaming laptops when people get frustrated that the performance fell short with games that evolved and were updated to more complex graphics needs or new titles that call for more GPU processing power. Gaming laptops if playing the same games that never change are fine, but if your playing games that evolve and introducing newer games to it, you will only get about 3 good years out of it before it starts to show its starting to lose the battle with the GPU needs of the games for higher frame rates. The other issue with laptops is that they act like vacuum cleaners and fill with dust and lint and can be difficult to clean, whereas desktop computers are far easier and safer to clean. Overheating is the leading cause of component death and is usually because dust builds up and clogs heatsinks as well as I have seen a single strand of hair somehow make its way into a laptop and get wound up around a CPU fan and lock it up tight from spinning. I have yet to see this happen in a desktop computer with larger cooling fans, although the one clients desktop brought to be because it was slow due to thermal throttling that was on the floor where the golden lab (dog) slept came in close with the fact that the front panel of the computer was packed with dog hair that when I removed the plastic front panel face from the case the computer had a yellow and white beard. gaming laptops have come a long way but in the end pc's are better in terms of gaming. they give you bigger screen, better sound, better video and graphics. They can Handle the heavy games better than laptops.

This article COMPARES the two. Though it is a little old, the point still stands. Like other members said, you need to compromise your battery life in a gaming laptop to play games. If you are okay with that you'll get used to or else go for a gaming pc or build a custom one.For what it is worth, here is a recent article about gaining laptops from a source many people believe; Engadget.

Best and worst gaming laptop brands 2017
Quote
Choosing the right notebook is hard, but selecting the perfect gaming laptop is even more challenging. In addition to specs like the processor, graphics card and storage drives, you need to consider the special sauce that each manufacturer adds to its systems in the form of design, software, keyboards and even warranty coverage
There is a video that covers 9 brands.
MSI comes in second. From my point of view gaming laptop don't worth the money. Laptop is useful for causual work not for gaming also they are quite expensive comparing to gaming PC also you cannot upgrade it. On the other side gaming PC are cheaper than gaming laptop and comes with future upgrade option. The only laptop beats PC is mobility but I prefer to play games in my room not when roaming around.
The conclusion is that go with gaming PC.I agree with your friend and the others, it would be wise to build a custom pc than an over price laptop which will give you a pain after a year, laptop is good yes for portability and for decent gaming but for a long run I will still go for PC for the fact that you can upgrade it and it there's something wrong you can troubleshoot it and replace the parts.MSI GS65 Stealth and Asus ROG Zephyrus GX501 pretty good for gaming PURPOSES. I personally have second one. But the one you choose is good too.If you are ready to always play permanently, then the PS of course will be more profitable to take, because it is easier to upgrade and maintain. But the laptop will become obsolete with time and you will be able to update only the hard drive and RAM, well, maybe the processor can be very confused.Well it depends on your budget. Today you can get a decent gaming laptop for a good price, less than $500. For example I got the Acer Aspire E 15 from Amazon 6 months ago, and it's been a beast for just $300. For ppl with higher budget I think MSI GV62 can be a good option.
You can also buy a less expensive laptop and then get an external graphics card for improved gaming experience.

Solve : fps drops in some games, complete freeze and forced hard reset in other games?

Answer»

Hey there!
I have been having a very strange problem with my pc lately. All was fine until a few weeks ago, when SUDDENLY, older GAMES (e.g. Hitman Absolution) had severe fps drop spikes and more modern and demanding games (e.g. MGSV) caused my pc to freeze after about ~1-2 minutes of playtime, sometimes so badly, i had to disconnect my pc from the current. I don't know if it's important, but my screen doesn't just go black or white, sometimes it goes blue, red, green, etc. Now, i thought that this might be a software-related problem, and so i did a complete reinstall of my OS, but that didn't work. After that, i MOVED my game directories to a external ssd, went to tech support who checked the hardware and ran SEVERAL stress tests, all of which were perfectly fine, but up until now, nothing has worked to resolve this issue. Here are my specs:

Intel i7-6700 3.40 GHz
32 gb RAM
Windows 10 64-bit
nVidia GeForce GTX 980 Ti

i'd appreciate any kind of help, i've never seen anything like this before and i have no idea what to do now.

That is what happening to me also at this moment. Did you solved it yet if yes then please let me know If you want assistance, I suggest you start your own thread. This CH article may be of interest:
Is there a way to tell how hot my CPU is running?
One of the recommendations is SPEED Fan.
It is a program to find temperatures in your system.

SpeedFan lets you take a deeper view at the status of your computer. Almost every computer includes support for hardware monitoring. Accessing digital temperature sensors is really useful. If you are trying to figure out why your PC hangs when under heavy load or after some hours of usage, SpeedFan might help you find the real cause.

Solve : Forge of Empires, multiple account / shared internet issue.?

Answer»

So here's the random question of the day. I have multiple account on Forge of Empires ( forgeofempires.com, flash game) that I use as "pushing" ACCOUNTS for my main one. I have been using my cell phone for the main and my PC for the others. Made the rookie mistake a few days ago and logged into my main account on the PC. I have been getting a " cannot use shared internet" message when I try to add to my main account now since that time. I've tried basic stuff like release /renew my router and even swapped routers. Made a NEW computer account on windows 10 and logged over to that and I'm still getting the same issue. Any good recommendations on windows 10? thanks for your time!Has nothing to do with your local systems or mobile devices nor router... They track IPs and associate IP's to accounts.

I also play this game and have 5 accounts.

I created a guild so that all accounts the main and 4 alias's can trade between guild members for free. Otherwise it costs you a forge point per trade outside of guild trade. I also left it open for any others who want to join to openly join up without worry of then getting kicked for not being active enough etc.

The maker of the game tracks internet connections and so only a single account can be active at a single time from a shared registered IP address that they keep track of. I was only able to run more than 1 account at a time if I was using my phone with 3G mobile internet and another account active on my home internet connection.

However once you log on to the mobile device with the other account they then know that two accounts are registered to IP addresses.

A friend of mine however was able to break out of this IP Address tracking by uninstalling the Forge of Empires AP from his mobile device including all cache data and disconnecting his mobile internet on his phone, and then reconnecting mobile internet and checking to see that the IP address was now different from mobile internet ISP's leased IP, then reinstall the game and be back to being able to run 2 accounts at the same time; BUT through 2 different internet connections a PC on broadband and a smart phone on 3G mobile network.

I only run one account at a time from my IP address these days and I created macros that PERFORM unattended daily routines of gathering goods and gold from buildings that are on timers and so i logon to my main account and do what I need and then I set up my PC to run the macro which then performs the lengthy daily redundant stuff of tavern stuff and gathering gold and goods that were earned from the timed buildings.

It use to take me like 1.5 hours a day to manage 5 accounts, now its like 20 minutes on my main account and then walk away with the macro farming stuff for me on the 4 other accounts. But this macro is only allowed to logon to a single account at a time through my internet connection, so I can not have multiple systems online playing the same game at the same time. For one to be online the others have to be offline.
hmmmm, yeah so it sounds like I might be screwed LOL. I'm actually MOVING states and will be dropping cox internet for comcast so maybe i'll be good then. I only ever run one at a time as well, I just made the derp move of logging in on my main acc on the PC rather than just on my cell phone. I'll have to try that uninstall completely from the cell and hope for the best is what it sounds like though. Tried playing with a VPN as well with no luck either.Well that worked out, uninstalled it from the cell phone and used pure 3/4g data. Logged on the PC and was able to continue to bump my main Acc's GB. Thanks again! No Problem. Glad it worked out.

Solve : Shadow.Tech.... Anyone here playing casted games remotely like this??

Answer» ANYONE using this Shadow.Tech service to play casted games between personal computer or tablet and high end game servers to say WHETHER its any good or not?

I was wondering when the day would come that games could play through a remote session to higher end hardware. Network/Internet Bandwidth constraints and Refresh Rate issues made me think that this wasn't going to be available for a while. But they CLAIM it can be done on a 15mb/s connection. They have some impressive bragged frame rates with high resolution. My thoughts are that they are able to somehow take very fast screenshots and get them to play out through persistent stream like a very fast slideshow on your computer so that you can play without lag between your controls and what you see. A direct display of images is something that GPU's have no issues with. All the rendering is done elsewhere, so even integrated video that is rather weak may show impressive gameplay because calculations for rendering are done server side.

I have a gaming system with decent specs to run all my games but before I check this out I figured I'd get some feedback from others who might be here who have TRIED this service out.

https://shadow.tech/usen/discover/technology

Seeing this makes me wonder if the days of gaming computers are numbered as a game company could decide to release their game through a service like this to work almost console based in design to specific redundant hardware server side, so testing only needs to be done with specific server side hardware and a vast difference in systems even weak would be able to play higher end games. This also would protect games from piracy as for all the code would remain server side and all you would get is a keyboard/mouse handshake for user input and a displayed output based on WHATEVER your doing in the game.

I personally like buying software and having it physically on my computer. But if this really works as they are advertising, then its a real game changer for developers having tighter controls on their games execution on a specific build that can be optimized for that game, and protection from people copying it which forces people to have to pay. Additionally it could turn into a coin-op type of play where you have to keep paying to play so its not a buy once and own the game forever to play but the more you want to play it the more you will have to pay it!

Normally I dont pay attention to Facebook Ads, but I saw this and it caught my attention. Then looked further into it and its quite impressive if its what it says it is and plays that well on a lower end modern computer. This has already been a thing for a few years. NVidia GeForce Now has been one product that allows this- You can play a game that has higher system requirements than your local setup over the Internet where it actually runs on higher-end hardware, and the video output is streamed to your system, so the actual load on your setup isn't much more than watching a video. There are a bunch of others as outlined in this wiki page.

Solve : Can you install old games on Win 10??

Answer»

I was cleaning up in my office and found an old MONOPOLY game (1997) that I used to play a lot. Can it be installed on a newer computer running Windows 10? I put the disk in and nothing happened but a lot of noise from the cd.
My first THOUGHT is the CD got dirty.
Clean it with a soft cloth a little bit of soap and water.
Dry it off and try again.

Which version of Windows do you have? No, the cd did not get dirty, I just found it while I was cleaning up my office. The CD has been in it's case tucked away all these years. I have Windows 10, Intel i-5-4460, CPU 3.20 Ghz, Ram 8 GB, 64-bit. I looked online for one similar, and there were some for free, but when I went to the websites listed, my computer told me they were not a secure website. So I was afraid to download them. Geek, you may remember me, I don't know anything about computers. You've been a big help to me in the past. Thank you so much!
debby,
Hello again.
Can you get windows to open up the CD like a folder?
If can , there ought to be at least on file that is an application file. that is what should start the game. It might have a name that makes sense.

Here are some facts you need to know.
Older games were often made to work on older PCs using MS-DOS.
Windows 10 does not like programs doing direct read and write of HARDWARE .
The 64 bit version of Windows does not allow the 16 bit program method.
The games can run too fast on new computers.

If Windows can run the games, you use a work around.
One workaround is to use a virtual machine. Think of it as a protective blanket around the game to prevent any harm to the system.

But if the game was a well done program for Windows 95or 98, it ought to run ALRIGHT. It is a 32 bit program.

To learn about virtual machine, look here:
What is a Virtual Machine?
Also:
VirtualBoxWindows 10 doesn't by default have the "autorun" feature enabled for security reasons. You would have to navigate to the Disc itself in order to run the installer.

However, the bigger problem is that the Installer is a 16-bit program- These are older programs written for Windows 3.1. The problem is that 64-bit windows cannot execute 16-bit applications, so you cannot run the installation program.

Since the Game is 32-bit, it *is* possible to run the game manually, though. If you BROWSE the CD, you can find a "MONOPOLY" executable/Application file in the MONOPOLY folder. If you run that, you can run the game without installing it.

Solve : Is there a software that syncs savegames to a server for other pc??

Answer»

I know razer cortex used to do it, as a sideline and you used to manually find the savegame location (because every game has a weird folder to put them in) and it sent it to google drive or dropbox. but last time i checked this feature was over and I wondered if anyone took the time to further this idea and make it so that you did not have to google the location for every game's savegame locvation.Yes. Steam. But the games need to be licensed through steam. And not all games saved states are stored at steam. I have some TITLES that the saved game state data doesn't carry over between computers. However if I copy the contents from steam folder from one computer to the next I then am able to get the saved game states for the few games that steam doesn't store. One such game that steam doesn't seem to store the saved game state for is GTA San ANDREAS. Once I copied the GTA SA folder from one computer to the other then I was able to have access to all my unlocked content.

One way to replicate saved game states would be to use cloud storage and point the games to be installed in the local hard drive or SSD folder that is to be sync'd with the cloud. With a rule set to save the latest information to cloud storage then just about any game that supports a saved game state in FILE form could be backed up to cloud storage. With multiple computers with that cloud storage setup on them and same folder structure for game installations would mean that the saved game states should carry over. Biggest thing would be at BOOT of the system you want to use to wait for the local folder that is a mirror of your cloud storage to sync and update prior to launching the game of choice to avoid loading old saved game state data or even worse a file in use ISSUE that can cause a crash condition in the game as the game is trying to read-in the saved game state that is in the process of being overwritten from the cloud.Steam only syncs saves if the game supports "Cloud" saves. Otherwise, the main difference is where that save data is stored.

Solve : Flash Games - Eventually slow and then crash?

Answer»

Was wondering if maybe its just the nature of Flash based online games to have this issue as I have had to F5 refresh other games or even in some cases completely exit out of the browser and reload the Flash Game to get it to run properly again.

I have tried these games on 4 different computers all with plenty of processing power ( Athlon II x4 620 2.6Ghz, Core i3 2.1Ghz, AMD-A8-5545m 2.7Ghz, and AMD FX-8300 3.3Ghz 8-core ) and on Windows 7 and Windows 10 OS's, and both in Edge Browser as well as Firefox and they all experience this issue where the longer the game is running the more it starts to lag out and then eventually the game will crash in various ways where the game itself will either be completely froze or the game will look like its running but clicking on features in the game become unresponsive. Additionally I have had this happen from 2 different internet connections as well so I dont feel its an internet CONNECTION issue. Home internet is 25/5 BROADBAND and other connection is 3/1 DSL. And pinging to Google for hours and then looking back at the ping log to see if the connection dropped out shows no lost packets to google.

One game I play has unattended game play mode such as Soul Calibur at http://sc.gamesprite.me . This game has idle process grinding to allow for your character to auto mode fight mobs while your away and gain experience and loot. And I can leave my computer idle gaming and come back to it to make decisions on where to spend attribute points etc, and decide to fight bosses or go up for PVP dueling. Currently Level 87 on Server #81. Only thing odd with this game is that they have so many servers and seem to create a new server environment once every week or two and so population on the server of active players is low and I am working my way up to the top of the list currently ranked the 34th most powerful player on that server, but I havent gone up against any true competition yet as they have you fighting against weaklings in Battle Rating as you work your way towards the top and you could skip to the person 10 rankings away to jump from say rank 50 to 40 if you beat them, but early on I saw a benefit in killing as many as i can in PVP duel as there is a gain of Spirit which is a consumable material in the game to increase stats and so I have taken the slow beneficial to stat improvement route to become quite powerful for a FREE player, WHEREAS people who Rank Rush to the top might not have the stats I have to be able to keep their place in the ranking and jipped themselves out of Spirit that could be farmed through this process by fighting everyone on your way to the top instead of skipping by units if 10 to get to the top sooner.

I like this game for what it is. It has dailies and I can have everything that needs to be done for the day completed in about 30 minutes. With taking on College again working on my second degree, I dont have much time for anything but college and working my full time with overtime job. So I have been running this game to grind when I am away doing my research papers or college projects and just figured I'd ask here to see if anyone knows why it seems like all flash games dont work well when running for hours on end and lag and eventually crash by no longer responsive or froze up?

I looked at the system RAM and I dont see any unusual amount of RAM consumed to point to a memory leak as the cause, but oddly the hard drive LED seems to be quite active during this time which might be superfetch loading system RAM to the maximum and then the hard drive dealing with the spill over into virtual memory.

System I am running it on now has 4GB RAM and 3700MB used and 300MB free. Page file is 1600MB with 2400MB free. CPU is hovering around 33% on this Core i3 running Windows 7 64-bit with latest Firefox 63.0.1 and hard drive right now shows a blink or two per second.

When the flash games lag and crash the hard drive light will almost constantly be lit as its doing excessive paging. Available free memory is about the same but the page file INCREASES from 4GB allotted to 6GB allotted. The Hard Drive is a 750GB 7200RPM drive with 502GB free space so its running efficient and not an issue from a jam packed hard drive.Old post I know.

Not sure why the browser would lock up though, when I first read the issues you were having I was thinking RAM, perhaps memory leakage due to it gradually slowing down.

However if a browser restart or refresh fixes it, why not try setting a macro to do this every hour while you're AFK?Thanks to your response to this. Never thought of that band aid method of a refresh once every hour. I own jitbit macro recorder that allows creation of keyboard/mouse macros to automate systems for redundant normally manual tasks. I can see this as a fix for what otherwise cant be corrected. Will make one up and then add calling it to execute within a batch with a sleep timer and loop. Then run the batch when I plan on being away from it for a few hours and want it to keep chugging away. Just out of curiosity, is it just a few certain games that lock up or is it any flash program when ran for a long time? Also was thinking that 300MB of available RAM isn't a huge amount, but you'd think it'd be enough, right? Unless RAM has some other function other than temporary storage that I'm not aware of, that requires a certain amount of free space? And also you'd think the pagefile would be cope..?

Long shot but you could try extra memory if you have slots and RAM if you can borrow from somewhere?

I can't recall ever having this issue myself even when I first discovered Burrito Bison Revenge and played it all day xDTested this with my other system with 16GB RAM and it did same as it does on other systems with less RAM. But memory in use capped at 7GB in use of 16GB.

I was playing a different game the other day Forge of Empires also flash based and that one wasnt having issues yet this other game Soul Calibur seems to not do well after 2 or 3 hours of runtime. Features would slow and eventually not respond but F5 refresh fixed it until it would occur again.

I think I am going to just go the route of the refresh on a timer to keep the game working. This game "Soul Calibur" has an unattended gameplay FEATURE where you can let it grind out battles for experience and loot when away from computer.
Could find very little about the game online but I did see mention from some comments that the game has tech issues and runs slow.

It could just be some limitation with flash that the devs have run into and ignored or are not aware of. Perhaps in the way that flash player handles the cache for the program?? No idea really, just guessing.

But yeah if refresh works, AFK away, guess it might give you some small advantage over other players facing the same tech issues.

Buying Older Used Computer as your first gaming computer? These look like used computers with specs and parts. These are both older 5 - 7 year old CPUs. So if anyone is selling them as a new computer unless they are mixing older new GUTS its likely they are composed of guts that have been heavily used. My brother has the i7 2600k and he has had it for around 5 years. GOOGLE shows release date of 2011 for the i7. The Phenom x6 CPU is almost 7 years old. How much are they asking for these systems?I liked the second option. Although I agree their characteristics are too oldAssuming the price is right- I'd say at most $400, the latter system has a better CPU and GPU all around. There would be no reason to pick the first system if the price is the same, except needing more storage- though the 1.5TB figure makes me wonder if it is a Seagate Barracuda since the 1.5TB Models had a known firmware problem which resulted in early failure.

The second option is good but it is to old PC also i think you might not able to upgrade it in future so your budget allows buy a new one if not second one is quite good choiceWhat makes the 7970 > R9 380?

Plus the 1st CPU is older but it has 6 cores over the 4 in the Intel system, with most modern games being optimised for multicore CPUs I wouldn't be surprised to see the AMD here out perform the Intel on most titles.

The lack of an OS SSD could be annoying though. Re GPUs:

https://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/AMD-R9-380-vs-AMD-HD-7970/3482vs2163

And CPUs:

https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-2600K-vs-AMD-Phenom-II-X6-1090T/621vsm417

I take it all back.

Turns out that under benchmark the parts in system 2 perform better on average.

Solve : is my computer strong enough??

Answer»

Hi guys,
I just got a new acer, about a week ago, and had a question. I want to download origin on it to play a game but am not sure if my computer can take it. This is a computer that I need to be fast for school and did not want downloading origin to slow it down. I am nervous that my computer will get messed up. Do I have a reason to be nervous?

My Computer is a Aspire E 15. New from warehouse.
THANKS,
Newbie128Assuming you downloaded it from a legitimate source and not a torrent, you're fine.Assuming its the Origin game client, the client will install to any modern Windows computer, however depending on what game you want to RUN through this client service it may or may not be supported. You need to look at the game titles you want to play and minimum or suggested system requirements. The biggest thing is the GPU processing power which the Acer E 15 will likely struggle with most games offered through Origin, but games like Plants vs Zombies will probably play ok as long as not the Garden Warfare version. This all assuming your talking about the client as linked here: https://www.origin.com/usa/en-us/

What are the hardware specs of your Acer E series laptop? It comes in a variety of CPUs and there are differences between the i3 and i5 or lesser processing power processor. If you dont know the specs if you search for CONTROL to go to control panel and then Click on SYSTEM it will bring up system specs and will show the processor your laptop has as well as how much RAM you have.

Image attached shows my system specs of my electron sipper desktop build that runs on a LOW power consumption APU and saves on the electric bill. You should see specs like this for your build with whatever APU or CPU you have and RAM amount.Regardless, to ANSWER your original question you did no harm to your computer if you downloaded the game from a legitimate source.Any update from OP? Just wanted to see how the acer actually held up. Not a fan of the brand, just hearing a lot of negative STUFF about it as a gaming laptop.Download origin from a legit source and also make do not run multiple things at the same and your system will be goodYa go with it!Should be fine. If not, simply uninstall itIf you're going to be installing large games through origin you might want to keep the HDD regularly defragged. You could use Windows defrag but personally I like Defraggler by Piriform, use the free version though, no need to purchase the "pro" version.

Solve : FPS drop?

Answer»

recently i bought a GT 1030 gddr5 2GB and first game i installed was gta V.
the problem is that im getting a very unsatisfactory fps like 25 27 in 1366X768 at normal settings.
i later checked youtube and came to see everyone is getting at least 45 50 even 60 at high settings..
my system is
amd fx 4300... 4gbddr3...300w psu...
i cant figure out whats wrong...You are running wit hthe ABSOLUTE minimum amount of RAM that GTA V will start with. That would be my first suspect.Check Your game setting, The setting should be correct to run game smoothly, Also please tell how much RAM you have in your system?
I'm sure you already LOOKED this up but just for everyone's information: https://www.pcgamer.com/gta-5-system-requirements-announced/

As mentioned above, you are running with the minimum amount of RAM. If you are running anything more than lowest texture settings, you're system will start to page on your drive to compensate. You might be able to run at 900p if you were on the lowest preset. Try to lowering your games setting or upgrading RAM as you are running on lows 4gb ram is minimum requirement for GTA5

Solve : Problem with Delta Force land Warrior?

Answer»

Hey all, I have a problem with delta force LAND warrior. I've reinstalled it on my new computer

Intel core i5-580M, 2.66 GHz ATI mobility Radeon HD5650 4GB DDR3 Memory

and I pass all the screen TESTS the game issues upon first playing it. Once I'm in, the opening cutscene does not display and yet there is audio. Once it's over, the main screen shows up but it stays frozen there. The game itself works because i was able to smash all the buttons and manage to play a game and it ran perfectly. But when i exited, same problem, the screen was frozen, but i could still access everything else with a bit of ''imagination''. Can anyone help me?
What OS are you running?

It's a 12 year old Windows 95/98 game. If you're running Vista or 7, Novalogic's website suggests running the game in Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode. Seeing as this game came out shortly before XP, you might even try compatibility mode for Windows 98. ALSO, make sure you've downloaded the patches for the game. From what I can tell, the final version of the game was 1.00.37. You can download the UPDATES through NovaWorld (is it even still around?) or http://www.novalogic.com/updatedetail.asp?ID=6&GameKey=DFLWi do use windows 7 but then how could i run it as xp compatibility modeOk I found how to run it on xp SP2 and I downloaded the file from the website you gave but it still doesn't work. Is there anything else I could try?Nothing that I can think of, other than trying Windows 98 compatibility instead of XP.

Another suggestion I found said that the UAC (User Account Control) may be interfering with the installation. Uninstall the game, disable UAC, then reinstall. After reinstalling, you can turn UAC back on.

Next, go to the game's installation folder and find DFLW.exe. Set the compatibility mode for Windows 98 (not XP).

Right click DFLW.exe, and select run as administrator.

If that doesn't work, open the game CD and go to the folder called "DFLSetup folder". Find the file "binkplay.exe" and run it. It will display a window of text, when it's done, close it.

Accoding to these instructions, the game should now work properly on Windows 7. If it doesn't, there's not much else to do. There are definitely compatibility issues with it (evident from the number of results in Google for making it work with Windows 7).Well thanks anyway guys. I tried but it didn't work. I guess I just have to wait for another epic game like it to come out. Take care!OLD POST, but for anyone interested I was running game in win 8.1 after using compatibility mode for about two weeks. then it stopped allowing me to join games. I delete all the files in the cache folder for the game and its up and running again.

Anyone here playing Star Trek Online?

I have an extra Humble Bundle Trekkie Pack Key if SOMEONE could use it. I keep getting new keys for this with every humble bundle order that I purchase and I already applied one of them to my account and gave other keys to friends, and now I have a key that is OTHERWISE going to be wasted unless someone contacts me here to claim it. The keys are 1 time use only and require a Star Trek Online account. First person to inquire about this key I will private message the key to as a means of keeping multiple people from trying to use same key. As I buy games at Humble Bundle and get more keys, I might offer up more FREE unused keys for the Bundle Packs vs throwing them away.

Here is the info that Humble Bundle displays below the key on my INVOICE:

Note: Requires a Star Trek Online account. You must redeem your code by December 31, 2020.
Please direct redemption questions to Arc Games Support.

Solve : windows 10 pc shuts of and freezes?

Answer»

I have an issue where my computer shuts down or freezes on most games, youtube, NETFLIX, and some other sites. I've updated my drivers, including my graphics CARD. I don't think my psu could be at fault. I have a gtx 660, asus p8p67 mobo, intel i5 3570 1155, crucial ssd 500g, and 8gs of qvl RAM that passes the tests. It doesn't crash if I'm playing battle field 4, and if I keep that game open, I can play the other games, and use sites without crashing. I was thinking this could be a c states issue, but I've already tried changing those settings, somebody help, I'm LOST here. Also it's a new build, so no dust, and there's a new bios battery. Also I've changed the POWER settings so the ssd isn't put to sleep, and the ssd firmware is up to date. You should run MemTest for a while and see if there are any problems with the sticks.

Solve : Forge of Empires - Free to play - Can only one 1 account at a time?

Answer»

So a coworker got me playing a game called Forge of Empires which is flash based. There are TIMES in the game that your twiddling your thumbs waiting on timers for stuff to be built, army get to a destination to conquer, or wait for MONEY and building materials to be made. So I thought why dont I start another account for this same game and this way I can switch between the two of them and not be bored with waiting on timers. The game play is kind of fun when not waiting for timers to run out. Problem is that the games detect that another instance is running on the same system even when using 2 different account logons.

So only way to play 2 of them at a time seems to be to use 2 computers or maybe a virtual machine for one of them so it doesnt see the other.

I was curious if there was a trick on how to mask the one from seeing the other without running it on 2 computers or one of them isolated in a virtual machine.

To me I was surprised that it detects other copies of this free to play game running. This means that as part of the main loop of the game, its polling the system somehow checking for other instances or memory sniffing for other instances.

Last night I just ran 2 computers and used my KVM to switch between them and alternate back and forth, but this wastes electricity having 2 computers running. I suppose I could run it in a virtual environment to run it on the same machine but figured Id check to see if there are any tricks on how to get this flash game to run 2 copies of it under 2 different accounts at the same time without one detecting the other running and ending the first instance of the game?

Note: Looking online under different search criteria, it looks like Chrome might allow 2 isolated instances of flash if I am reading this correctly. Interesting if Chrome is really able to do this while I tried running it on Firefox and IE at the same time with both browsers open THINKING both browsers would add a level of isolation but they dont. Due to this I have doubts that chrome is the solution. http://superuser.com/questions/362762/how-do-i-get-flash-to-run-in-a-separate-instance-for-each-tab-chromeDug a little further into this and it looks like the only options for running multiple accounts at the same time on a single computer is through virtualization. I think the issue lies in the instance name, only one instance with that flash can be running at a time and you cant just change the name of it on the fly that I know of. I have gotten other games to run multiples of by just renaming the exe so that the instance name is different in the PID. Just wanted to share this INFO in case anyone else out there runs into this. I think the game I want to run 2 instances of will work under Windows XP, so I am going to use Virtual PC2007 on my Windows 7 64-bit system and run a virtual Windows XP session and see if that works and then just move within the physical and virtual systems to run both at the same time without having to have 2 computers going.

The average cooldown in the game is 5 minutes and most of everything can be completed in under 2 minutes which leaves 3 minutes of waiting on timers. With 2 games going at the same time there is usually under a minute between them that is wasted unproductive game time. They have a feature where you can pay diamonds to shorten the timer/cooldowns. I think thats why they have the 5 minute timers knowing there is 3 minutes of waiting is to try to get people to pay up.

The game is ok, but the diamonds are a penny a piece on their best deal when buying like 5000 of them, but 5000 diamonds are $50 USD. And I dont pay that kind of money for a flash game to have virtual currency. I saw one item I liked the other day and it was 850 diamonds but 850 diamonds comes to $8.50. Nope I dont need it that badly. If their money system was $5 for 5000 diamonds in which that item would cost me 85 cents then I'd pay up to have it since 85 cents is reasonable for a virtual object. Not sure if they are greedy to have it this way or if they have to be this way based on statistics of how many people pay to play. They might make more money if they didnt jab as for I'd pay $5 to get a bunch of virtual items in which I feel that I am getting my moneys worth. You might get in trouble if they find that the IP is the same... I suggest you try another similar browser game, there are sooo many of themQuote

You might get in trouble if they find that the IP is the same... I suggest you try another similar browser game, there are sooo many of them

.... wonders why they would track IP for duplicate connections when what if more than one family member wants to play same game. Additionally no REAL loss in more people playing the game, so it should be if you want to play 2 accounts at same time from same internet connection, more power to you.

I went from playing the games for an hour or 2 a day to playing it just 15 minutes. I do daily stuff on it and then leave the timers to count down to the next day and collect on the count down, and then start the counter for 24 hrs again. If I need stuff faster, I run some automated scripts to farm. cool ty for info tx-23

never heard of the incognito mode for Chrome... going to check that out.Yes... I know this is old... but the info on here is WRONG.

You can play this game on Chrome and Firefox/Internet Explorer/Edge. That is 2 games running simultaneously.

You can also have multiple accounts logged into Windows. Switch between them and its 2 games per Windows account.

You can also log out, and log back in, and run as many accounts as you want.

So virtualization is not required.

Solve : black boxes pop up on the screen?

Answer»

Okay, I had no idea where to post this because I have no idea what the trouble is! But this mainly happens when I'm playing a certain game, so here I am.
I'm getting BLACK BOXES that suddenly appear on the screen. It's not the laptop itself, because I learned all I have to do is move the cursor up to the TOOLBAR and it goes away. If I'm on facebook or filling out a form and it appears, if I drag the mouse on the pad it goes away where the actual boxes are with the words, or the posts. It doesn't all disappear unless I refresh or even open another tab and go back.
Sometimes it's white but mostly it's black.
Also, I can't get my firewall up! I really need to get it looked at, but my HUSBAND's income barely COVERS everything and I can't get a job.
I can't understand technical stuff. I have firefox and stupid windows 8.

Solve : What games could be better and how and why?

Answer»

Was in a discussion with a friend about games that could be done better, and how some of them the smallest detail means the difference between wanting to play it and being like meh, I'm moving on to another title.

Path of Exile:

The game that I thought was going to be awesome to play and possibly better than Diablo 2 & 3. First RUN of the game though I soon realized that my bag was full within minutes and great I need to either drop stuff on the ground to pick up better items or run back to town every minute or so to turn that into the credit system they had.

Credit System... https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Currency
Quote

The currency system in Path of Exile revolves around a variety of different orbs and scrolls. Each currency item serves a specific function in the crafting and enhancement of a character's equipment, or allowing restructuring of the character's passive skill tree in the case of the Orb of Regret.

So I figured well ok I will just BUY bigger bags and work around the lack of coin ( copper/silver/gold ) money system they have in place. Looking for where to get bigger bags from a vendor though I found that the size of inventory is very constricted and they push you to drop stuff on the ground and keep the better item or even worse you have a full bag and want all the good stuff and cant decide what to get RID of because its all good for what items you picked as the best of the best after a short run.
https://steamcommunity.com/app/238960/discussions/0/152391920350220874/

I found myself wasting time unable to decide quickly what to drop and what to keep. And this bothered me so greatly that I said thats it and rage deleted the game from my system as it made me mad that it was designed this way which is not compatible with my choice of game play.

Maybe I was SPOILED by games with large inventories and space to store items to amass a pile of wealth and powerful items over time of effort PUT into a game such as playing World of Warcraft with a private guild vault space, Diablo1,2,and 3 as well as Torchlight 1, and 2, as well as many other titles. But I could not conform to a system of such limited space.

A game should be one that is fun and not one that you get angry at its design. If angry that you died in the game you can go and try again as a challenge, but a challenge of playing with a McDonalds bag of space when use to a 55 gallon bag that just was not compatible with my gaming.

Oddly Path of Exile has a strong following so I guess its just me with a severely restricted inventory/bag space destroying the games playability.

Other than that the game was fun to play. I liked the shadows and lighting effects and the combat. But looking at inventory space and wasting time with what to keep and drop and I tried to work with that and only keep the best and eventually getting to where I had to drop good items. The fork in the road decision of to keep one thing or another was just too frustrating for me.

Solve : Fps drop, screen goes black, comes back?

Just yesterday I STARTED having a new problem, I have been playing on 25-30 fps in LoL. Now every single game my fps has been dropping to 5-10 randomly for a small amount of time and then usually coming back in a minute or so ? When this happens my screen goes black for about 10-30 seconds totally disabling me from playing COMES back and I can play at my usual 25-30 fps for the rest of the game usually. I discovered it was overheating, cleaned the pc turned fan speeds up still having the ISSUE however it does not seem to be overheating anymore. I also scanned the pc with malwarebytes/ccleaner. Did not find anything nor think any virus is on the computer. Can't figure out why this suddenly started happening though when it has not been happening for months. Can anyone help me?If your GPU is FAILING it might show up as these symptoms.

Are you using a discrete GPU? If so, what MODEL and how old is it?

If not, what is your CPU/chipset and how long have you had it?

Solve : Computer Impossible repairing?

Answer»

Hi guys, without any info for the computer doesn't matter all the parts of the pc are TESTED twice if they give some defect issue temperature or whatever SEEMS EVERYTHING ALL RIGHT
The Pc is restarting ONLY when im PLAYING A GAME im playing WRC 7 Heroes of the Storm FAR CRY 3 FAR CRY 4 i gave my Pc to repair to 1 technical SUPPORT and they give me back the pc COMPLETELY fresh pre-install and still the same problem ... i gave to another shop to have other opinion and they say the pc all the parts are working PERFECT after check tests no issue on the graphics card cpu ram MB .... i gave to 3rd technical support my ONLY GRAPHIC CARD without saying what problem i have just to TEST my GPU in other config Pc and after 1 days they call me to go and pick my GPU because is working PERFECT .....i explained my problem he told me to give him all my Pc and guess what ... the guy told me that is all perfect so is not an issue of my Pc and is issue with my power cable and probably my UPS if i have some and i say no i have not so he told me to buy one and to change the power cable to the PSU ... and i did it and still the same .... i told him that can be my RAM memory but since my Pc is working in EVERYTHING ELSE plus 4k 8k UHd FHD heavy BENCHMARKS its not the RAM memory ...... No heat no drivers issue no conflict with software i think is kind of protection or losing power or some electronic problem but i dont know how and from where to proceed

SO SOME HELP will be really appreciated here guys ... thanks to all If all the parts in your PC were working correctly, your system would not be randomly restarting.

I'd be more likely to question the expertise of the "repair guy" than I would to accept that a PC where every component is working perfectly is randomly restarting. How about scheduling with them to play the game there and get it to act up. Then they can see the issue as it happens and diagnose further.

Additionally I would check the the the game forums and see if anyone else is having issues like yours to see if there is a patch or some other fix for this. Maybe a specific nvidia driver or AMD driver has issues and you need to use an older driver ect until the latest driver is corrected etc. (*I ran into problems like this before where games would glitch on latest driver and having to use an older driver. However for me it wasnt a game crash, but it was that textures like walls and ground would become transparent and so it looked like I was running in the air when it would glitch. Eventually nVidia corrected the driver and I was able to get the latest driver, however the fix at the time was to roll back to a previous driver that didnt have this issue. This was with World of Warcraft back in 2006 with a nvidia Geforce GT video card in my Athlon XP 2800+ system at the time. I looked all over google and it was on a wow forum that I saw others having same issue and rolling back driver was the fix for me.)

If its only this game that causes this and all other games run flawless, then its likely a bug with how the game is coded and your hardware combination, or video card driver glitch like what I had but yours is worse because it crashes. Hello ! so what i did

Low format HDD testing the 2 rams test the Pc in other house test of GPU in other Pc with a UPS pre-install windows 10 2 diff of them 2 diff of windows 8.1 i have the original Cds with the original drivers since the hardwares went out MoBo and GPU and i test with the basic drivers with different versions also .... And YES with the last one i ve been there for a 2 hours insisting to want to play to show him that he didnt repaired and yes he restart for 2 hours ONLY 1 time obviously was not enough for him after changing some bios settings and i just took my Pc from people that dosnt even understand of what i want ..... i just think to buy different MoBo because is the cheapest one and now they say that is a *censored* for all rest of my hardware config ....
i also flash the bios with latest on mobo i flash the bios of the gpu also .... no results still crashing ONLY IN GAMES not in one game in all

Solve : Fable - The lost Chapters - Game Thru Steam - Flashing Pop up window withno name?

Answer»

Just bought a 2nd copy of a game I had like 10 years ago through steam because it was on discount ... Fable - The lost chapters

Strange thing is that I have immediately and only with this game during the intro cinematics a flashing once every second quick flicker of a WINDOWS command shell box that has no name and has the MINIMIZE, maximize, and close icons as windows have. Its about 2.5 x 3 inches in the upper right corner of the screen. The background of this command shell window shows no information to give any insight into what it EXACTLY is.

Oddly when I tried to capture this pop up box by recording the screen with fraps, no problem was recorded, even when going with very fast frame rate capture, so not sure how fraps isnt capturing what is displayed to screen unless its a layer and for a fraction of a second every second its unable to capture this layer of video that pops thru for a moment.

So if its behind the game cinematic, I pressed the Windows Key to get back to desktop with the game cinematic still running and no flashing of this command shell window.

So I captured it with my phone in video so that I could stop the frame where the pop up window was and inspect it further. No window title for it and no text information in the black background of the window box that is flashing for a fraction of a second once every second.

Was wondering if anyone knew of any utilities that are able to capture a list of all active windows within say the last 2 or 3 minutes and what exe is associated with them to see what process is being called over and over during the cinematic to make this annoyance like a window name to exe relation log, to capture something that happens quickly and then look in that list for the names of the programs associated with the windows to then figure out what process exactly is doing this.

Looking on google I found nothing on this.

The hardware is my older gaming system which should be a good pairing for a game released in 2005.

Athlon II x4 620 2.6Ghz
4GB DDR2 800Mhz Corsair XMS2
GeForce GT 730 2GB 128-bit 1366 x 768 resolution on a 20" widescreen display
Windows 7 64-bit Home fully patched
240GB SSD and a 120GB SSD

Lastly the flashing window that flashes itself for a fraction of a second bug etc only happens during cinematic of the beginning of the game. Once the game itself starts the problem is gone. So at least the game is playable, but its annoying at the start of the game and wrong so very interested in figuring out what it is.

Only thoughts that come to mind as to what it could be is that they had to alter it to WORK for steam, and some console TYPE of executed patch is showing itself and hiding itself over and over again at cinematic intro and not during gameplay.

Solve : %100 CPU usage in game using i5 7600k @ 4.7ghz (Overwatch)?

Answer»

Hi, I have a 7600k with a gtx 1070. I have been noticing lately that in big fights with lots of players my fps has been dropping from the 150s to the 70s-80s, looking into this I believe that my CPU is bottlenecking my gpu as when playing in big fights my cpu is always at %100 and gpu is at 90. I didn't believe overwatch was such a cpu intensive game but now i am having second thoughts thinking i should've got the 7700k. So it would be helpful if anyone could shed some light on why this is happening thanksThe FPS DROPS because there is more stuff happening every frame which needs to be processed.

There is no system configuration that is going to keep the same high framerate in all situations. Even today, Duke Nukem 3D and other games from the 90's that modern GPUs and CPUs can run at 1000fps still drop in intensive sections to lower framerates.

90% GPU usage is good. it's when it is below 70 or so that you can start looking to the CPU. And evne then it could VARY based on the software itself.

a 7700K over a 7600K wouldn't get you much beyond a lighter wallet anyway. The 7700K is an i7 but aside from a slightly higher base clock the main difference is hyperthreading, which doesn't provide an advantage as multi-threaded applications aren't USUALLY built to take advantage of hyperthreading's more specific limitations compared to dedicated core.

im sorry i didnt mean to put 90 though i meant 50!! and there isnt even any action going on!!! https://gyazo.com/10f602329eaaf18d5d4bfd4c793b9425Well here is a forum thread from folks who actually play the game which appears related.

It is either a software problem, or the GPU simply isn't being utilized very much. Usually when you have performance issues and one or the other is at 100% then it would be a "bottleneck" of some description but with that sort of high-end hardware it is pretty certain to be a software problem.

As I'm SURE you know a "bottleneck", when it comes to CPU/GPU is when there is widely disparate performance characteristics. By way of comparison, many YEARS ago I had a 350Mhz K6-2 CPU paired with a Radeon 9250. The CPU was a massive "bottleneck" and this meant that games that the GPU would be otherwise capable of running were out of the question for me. Conversely, putting an old ATI Rage Pro into a Pentium 4 would "bottleneck" in the other direction.

"Bottleneck" behaviour that only appears in specific software is typically a result of the software, not the hardware. A poorly optimized or programmed game/software could very easily underutilize one or the other and peg the other at full utilization, making it appear that poor performance is a result of the hardware when it is a characteristic of the software.

This is particularly the case given that your CPU is one of the absolute latest available. There is no way a 7600 is going to bottleneck a 1070- older Haswell CPUs can easily keep up with a 1070.

Solve : Game dev released a cracked copy of their game to catch people & teach a lesson?

Answer»

Found this funny. Game devs for Game DEV Tycoon intentionally released a cracked version intentionally flawed to teach pirates a lesson. ONE moron pirate complained that his virtual games were being pirated WITHIN a pirated game and didnt realize the game devs were giving him a taste of his own medicine.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=108&v=h0U7XEG8djUHere's an article on the subject. It was interesting that:

"The depressing results of its own game's day one piracy rates show that only 6.4% of people playing the game bought it legitimately."

Solve : Submerged - Game through Steam - audio choppy at times?

Answer»

Picked this game up on 90% off discount normally $19.99 and got it for $1.99 on a sale Steam has going on. Game is ACTUALLY pretty good for those who like the Myst type of game play of trying to figure stuff out without directions. Its really easy to overlook a path you need to take when scaling the side of a hotel in which you see a platform to jump down to and miss the pink vines of flowers above it which also is a path of travel so I have found myself going in a few circles around a hotel trying to figure out why I couldn't get to a area where there was an item I needed to gather, to finally on the 2nd or 3rd time around take a much slower and cautious APPROACH to it all and look around for an alternate means of travel in the game in which "DUH" I need to not leap down, but leap up to a pink flower vine and then I get to the chest that holds the material to gather for that level etc.

The weirdest part of the game so far was seeing some humanoid guy on the top of a building and wondering what type of interaction I will have with him. To finally make it over to where he was and he is nowhere to be found. So I was like "what the...." looked around to see if the guy moved around but nowhere to be found. Gathered the chest and then was leaving and then the outro leaving showed the backside of some sort of humanoid zombie like maybe sea creature guy watching me leave. So I was like OK THEN.... that is weird!

Game load was slow and audio was choppy at the most DEMANDING parts of the game. Mainly the intro part of the game with piano music playing and her boat traveling through a flooded destroyed city after some sort of disaster where the ocean claimed what was once a large city. When playing this on my AMD FX-8350 8-core 4Ghz with 16GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM and 240GB SSD with Geforce GTX 780 TI 2GB I have no choppy audio and it loads much faster, but my electron sipper build that normally doesn't have choppy audio a AMD A8-5545m 1.7Ghz with 2.7Ghz turbo with 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM and an old healthy but naturally noisy Maxtor 500GB HDD with built in GPU as part of the APU Quadcore the graphics are smooth but the audio at the most visually resource hungry part of the game gets choppy and I haven't had this issue in any other games of the over 200 games I play on this system. Looking at resouces the there is 1 of the 4 cores that is heavily hit over the others and perhaps the audio stream is competing for a single core that is heavily hit with other single threaded processing needs to where that core that's used for the audio starts to rattle the audio output. Once the most taxing part of the game is over with which is mainly the cinematic like automated hands off controls intro of the main character moving in the open world the audio clears up and the game plays just fine on this lightweight mobile processor. However the minute long intro on game launch I wasn't sure of the APU was going to cause the game to crash as for I have never heard an audio chop that caused a rattle in audio output ever before in this build.

The closest thing I can relate the audio chop rattle to was if you ever heard a speaker that was blown out but still able to make noise, so your able to hear music but it has a death rattle to it.

Looking online I didn't see any other complaints about audio for this game title, but it also isn't that popular of a game and I suppose most people play it on better hardware than an entry level gaming APU mobile processor. For the fact that the problem goes away when the game is ready for play I will just live with it. If I knew the actual stream that is for audio and could set core affinity I suppose I could tell audio stream to use whichever core is lesser heavily loaded, however it might not be accessible due to hard coded in the game itself so its all likely RUNNING under the same identity as the EXE itself.

Well lots of snow outside with Winter storm in NH,USA and I need to go see if the snow blower will work, I don't think the wife will appreciate me playing video games as she is shoveling and I'm lazy in doors playing with video games.

Solve : Epistory - Typing Chronicles - Bought off of steam on sale?

Answer»

Interesting game I picked up today to add to my steam game collection of now 190 games. Epistory - Typing Chronicles

I saw this game was on sale this morning for $6.49 and normally $14.99 and the game play looked unlike anything else I had ever played before and interesting. The only thing I didnt liek about it was trying to get use to the E,F,J,I controls but looking back I just realized that they are suggested controls but you can use W,A,S,D as well. Which next time i play I am going to go with the WASD controls and see how that feels. Its interesting in that to be good at this game you need to be able to read WORDS and type them as fast as you can. But your not always pressured to type as fast as you can such as to open items or passages you can type as slow as you like, however when you have creatures coming at you from all directions you need to determine which is the immediate threat and type the word that is above them and some creatures coming after you take 2 or 3 words or more to kill and some of the words are easy like BUG, TOY, DEAR to type fast and kill off the bug before it bites you and other times as you progress further your dealing with larger words and words that you might not have used ever or very often to where you have to pause for a second to realize how its spelled and so you reading it as its spelled on the screen and then typing it as fast as you can without fumbling keys. Oddly you dont have to worry about backspacing if you mess up spelling METEOR and somehow spell METOER it will show EOR left to be typed with the correctly typed letters prior to it greyed out and others in white as the O before the E is incorrect so simply jump directly to E and finish it off with EOR.

At first i was thinking is this game going to be too young of game play for a 42 year old. Typing BUG, TOY, DEAR, and small common words were so easy, but as I progressed further I was like WOW the words are getting bigger, less commonly used words that you might pause for a second and think ok I before E etc and some words are even ones that are like.... THATS A WORD?

So while it starts off kiddie-ish it gets into some serious typing pretty quickly and you want to type as correctly as you can or get bit and die. One bite by a bug and you drop. But I've died 2 times already and it seens forgiving i think you have unlimited LIVES and can just keep pounding away at the keys to try to get past a hard area with a mob fight of 4 or 5 targets reading the words and typing them as fast as you can and looking to see what the next word to type by closest threat is.

I'm happy with the purchase it was a bargain and it has statistics that told me I am typing 24.21 words per minute and the most words typed in a row without a type was 87 and there is an achievement once I get 100 in a row without a typo.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB-YpwUF7EMThis reminded me of a very old typing game I saw on my stepdad's XT CLONE system, "Letter Invaders".

Letters would fall from the top of the screen and you had to type the letters to shoot them. Occasionally a "triad" would fall and it was three letters which you had to type in sequence.

I don't think it had actual words fall but it seems that if the typing was to get more complex progressively like that it would be very similar.

Though I think Letter Invaders probably has lower system requirements

Quote

the most words typed in a row without a type was 87

haha... well back to 0 now ha ha spell check got me too ... no red all is good...

Spell Check Fail made for an angry ebay customer once of mine. Guys name was Robert and spell check in the e-mail CORRECTED it to "Hello Robbery". The guy thought I was mad because he got an item at a really good deal and sore about it. I had to explain to him that spell check got me and I didn't catch it. I had no issue with him buying it at the opening bid, and told him I don't list items for lesser than I will take, so i am completely satisfied that he bought it at the price tag that he got it for. He was pretty heated with curses etc in the initial e-mail to me on this issue.

I must have typed Robery since T and Y are neighboring keys, and spellcheck auto corrected and added the extra B to make Hello Robbery!

I suppose I could have said Hello Bob, but then auto correct would probably add an extra O and get me into trouble.

What is the Game Title that is having the problems?

Where did you get this game from to install it?Ok sorry about that ... im really desperate ... yesterday i just delete it from the register now i have it the same error and is like this.
The game is Heroes of the storm directly downloaded of course from the site ... there i did scan and repair change to start the app in 32 or 64 bit everything ... still, nothing still doing it

The IP address lease 192.168.1.38 for the Network Card with network address 0xBC5FF4E284CD has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.1.1 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

Ok so you logged on to battle.net and downloaded the game from there?

http://us.battle.net/heroes/en/

What is make/model of your computer or if custom build all specs?

Do any other games cause shutdown during play or just this game?Yes, of course, i logged in and downloaded the game from

http://us.battle.net/heroes/en/

My Pc was built piece by piece in the custom build all new stuff, warranty from the best seller in Spain. Complete check by technical service twice (one in the beginning and now because of the game) and changing the new thermopast for the CPU ... no problem with a hardware 100 % .I have Project cars 2, WRC 7 no problem with them at all playing at maximum details and full HD resolution.I think is only crash with games kind of HOS or LOL start by some client or Steam .... always watching the temp for the CPU and GPU and they are just perfect less than 50 -55 C. Who know how much thinks i touch to make the problem go away but unfortunately no it's still here i still have the problem its some LOCAL NETWORK NTs AYTHORITY some permission that windows 10 it's stopping it im playing HOS from ADSL via cable modem up to 30 MB but still they say its some network card driver problem so i check this also and still the same ... i wanna change all Pc in Windows 8.1 people saying me all time that i will forget about this crashing ... i thing i need to try ...

My Pc Specs are :
Cpu AMD fx 6300 x6-core 3.5ghz a 4.0 14mb cache

I receive a answer from Microsoft
I'm not surprised you are having trouble with Windows 10 Fall Creators Update.

There seems to be some early adopter issues at this time with Windows 10 1709, if you can, I recommend you downgrade to your previous version until the Fall Creators Update matures with future cumulative updates.

Open Start > Settings > Update & security > Recovery > under Go back to my previous version of Windows 10, click Get started.

Press Control + Alt + Delete
Click Sign out

At the Sign In screen, hold down the shift key on your keyboard while clicking the Power button on the screen
Continue to hold down the shift key while clicking Restart
Continue to hold down the shift key until the Advanced Recovery Options menu appears

Click Troubleshoot

Click Advanced options

Click Go back to the previous version of Windows

If the problem persists or you can’t rollback, I recommend downgrading to Windows 10 1703.

Now I'm downloading the purest version of W10 1703 ... I will give a shot to see what will happen

is there a question there somewhere?lol
I am asking for the names of such type of games.Too many games to list... my THOUGHTS are Mortal Kombat or a wrestling game.

The only beat each other up games that I played mostly was:

Mortal Kombat ... all of them (SNES) & PC
Clayfighter 2 (SNES)
Tekken (Playstation)

Seen other people play the wrestlemania games but those aren't my thing. Use to watch wrestling on TV in the 1980s as a kid/teenager, but its so fake. I prefer SOMETHING more violent i guess which mortal kombat and clayfighter 2 were, with clayfighter being non gory.

I play mostly dungeon crawlers, rpg & mmorpg, fps, adventure and puzzle games like tomb raider and myst, and car racing games.what platform they will be played on?
the specs of that platform will also DETERMINE the type/age of game you COULD play.after seeing the gamplay of mortal combat X i cant stop myself from buying it.
THANKS for suggesting it.
Even though wrestling is mostly scripted the fun and thrill never stops while watching them fight?
Isn't it so?

Solve : help me deside on a CPU for gaming?

Answer»

i've finally got enough money to get a new CPU and want to know what one would be best for gaming? i've limited it down to 3 choices but don't know what one would be good... my computer is a laptop with a socketed CPU (yes I can change the cpu I did it when I put a new mainboard in) and I currently have an i5-4300m with 8GB ram... i've eliminated all things that would affect gaming performance including a reinstall of win 7 and deleting my anti-virus and still USE 90-95% of CPU all the time while PLAYING games... i'm thinking this CPU is the biggest bottlenecks of this system along with the 8GB ram....

I can go with a fast DUAL core or slow quad core but what would be best? I've chosen to go with an i7-4610m, an i7-4702MQ or an i7-4712MQ but what one would be best? i'm currently only playing GTA V but would like to play other games soon... what would you say out of the 3 would be the best for all around gaming? i may wanna play PUBG and Friday the 13th soon but i'm having too much FUN with GTA V

suggestions? What exact model motherboard do you have? Quote from: DaveLembke on October 20, 2017, 06:03:54 AM

What exact model motherboard do you have?

I have a laptop with a socket G3 Ok then the make/model of the laptop?

Laptops are very tricky with CPU UPGRADES by the way. Biggest issue is extra added heat and a heatsink that might not be up to par with a hotter faster CPU. Additionally they are high risk for upgrade failure. Then there is the issue if the BIOS will support the microcode for the better CPU that you want to install. You could run into a situation where it doesnt boot off that better CPU, or if it does it runs with a microcode error ( in which it will report as the wrong CPU but will be functional after pressing a F key to continue ), or if it runs it runs too hot and shuts itself down, or if your really really lucky it will be fine.

Laptops that have been successful in CPU upgrades usually you have to look up what exact main board you have including which Rev it is. Look at other similar models that also use that main board as a reference to what is the most powerful CPU that board has been paired with by manufacturer, and then stick with a CPU that they offered with one of their more expensive laptop models to upgrade your lesser expensive model. That right there only gives you a 90% chance that it will work in your board. You then have to worry about what BIOS version your board is to support the microcode for that processor.

Then I would look up the part number for the heatsink and then be sure that a system with the i7 you want to run also is using your heatsink you already have. If it is then heat shouldnt be a problem, if its not in any build for use with that i7 you can run into overheating of the laptops CPU and GPU.

I'd advise against messing with a CPU upgrade for a laptop due to the fact that I have seen lots of troubles with trying to squeeze more processing power out of them. Laptops are meant to pretty much be disposable when the CPUs fall short of performance expectations. Maybe sell that laptop and buy one with the CPU in it that you want.Quote from: DaveLembke on October 20, 2017, 03:56:04 PM

all models use the same cpu heatsink with one model heatsink for iGPU only laptops and one for dGPU added laptops... all of the ones I choice are 37W TDP.... the i7-4610m is a dual core where as the other two are quad core... my laptop could have been ordered with an i7-4600M, i7-4700MQ, i7-4800MQ or i7-4900MQ from factory... I don't want the 4700, 4800, or 4900 due to the higher TDP plus I don't think I need that much clock speed... I don't even think my laptop with dGPU would have came with the i5-4300m from factory but I put it in as that's all I have for nowJust saw that I missed your response on this, and my answer to that is I suppose you could try the swap then. If the BIOS is the same then you will be successful. If there is a BIOS version difference between your current BIOS and the BIOS that came with the i7-4610m CPU model then you might need to flash it forward. You might be ok leaving the BIOS alone. I suppose if you can get a good deal on the CPU, swap it and see what happens. If it doesn't boot or boots with a microcode error then put original CPU back in and then flash it to the flash of the model that came with the i7-4610m CPU, then swap the CPU back in and then all should be good assuming that the main boards are exactly the same and only difference is BIOS version for supported CPUs.

Solve : Public Lan Party Copyright?

Answer»

Can we do frequent LAN parties in a public area without breaking any copyright laws? it will be the same building that is owned us. just a bunch of people bringing their devices playing games. Does this require any additional licenses?

will clarify that this will be FREE entry and attendance.

Note: we are in Australia not too sure if that makes a difference as we will be most likely using steam games anyway...This post was done by voice dictation. There may be some funny grammar when the computer does not understand what I said.
You don't have to be a lawyer to understand the basic ideas about copyright laws. The copyright holder does not want you to use this copyrighted material in such a way that it would deride him some of the benefit he could have by selling or renting his copyrighted material. You can compare it to a book. When you buy the book, you have the right to read it. After you read it, you can let somebody else read it. And that sometime in the future you could sell the book. But in no CASE can you make a duplicate of the book and sell it. That is just wrong and it violates the copyright law.
Applying that to computer software, it is against the law to make a copy of your software and let somebody else use it because that would deprive the copyright holder the game he would get if somebody would buy their own copy. Of course, you could sell your software to somebody else. But while somebody else has your software, you can't use it. It's like you can't read the book if it's in somebody else's house.
It sounds like you might have got confused with the public performance clauses found in some copyright statements. That usually applies to music and plays that are given in public in order to make a profit or to promote some kind of advantage or benefit for the performers. But that's a different issue. I don't think there's any copyright clauses in software that have anything to do with public performance.
Here's the crux of the matter. Are you guys making extra copies of the piece of software so that you can play together at a LAN party? If so, you guys are breaking the law about copyrights. You can let other people use your programs, but it's against the law for you to use the program while somebody else is using it. In other words, only one person should have the software in their position. The fact that it's so easy to copy does not change the copyright law. For example with a fax scanner you could easily make copies of several pages in a book. You can break the law by doing that if you copy too many pages.
Years ago I bought manuals for repair of FLOPPY DRIVES they came from the manufacturer and I included it in the kit that I sold to help people prepare their floppy drives. Well, one day my supplier ran out of the the manuals, so he sent me copies of the manuals which I then passed on to my customers. One day I got a call from some legal people at the company that makes the floppy drives and had to explain to them how come I was distributing copies of their manual. So I had broken the law by distributing manuals that been copied by somebody else. They excepted my explanation and after that I could no longer include manuals in the kit that I was selling.
Now that story may not directly relate to your problem, but it illustrates the idea of what it means to have a copyright. The copyright helps protect the owner of the copyright so that he can make a reasonable profit on the sale and distribution of his products. If you duplicate his product and use it for some advantage or benefit, then you are breaking the copyright law.
This sent five explanation should be enough for you to understand that you cannot see making copies of the game software and distributing it to everybody at the party. Everybody has to buy their own copy of the game if they wish to play together at the same time. Now some cases the game itself may have a provision that allows you to play the game with other people at the same time. You have to read the instruction manual and see if it really allows you to do that.
The simple answer to your question is this: it's not about where you have your LAN party. It's about two you get some benefit from the software that would be a violation of the copyright law. Making copies of software and enjoying it is a violation of law. It's that simple.
Hi, Thanks for the in depth reply. I would like to clarify this part here.

(Are you guys making extra copies of the piece of software so that you can play together at a LAN party?)

This wont happen we expect to advertise the game/s that will be hosted prior to the event. Then everyone who has those games (legitimately) and is interested in playing with others can come along and play at no charge.

So what i got from your advise is that because we are not making any profit from hosting this event and we will not be distributing any software to anyone. We are not breaching any copyright laws. If games are played through steam that are multiplayer then the licensing REQUIREMENTS would be handled by steam. If people have the game on steam as well as the version that is stand alone you will probably run into issues in getting those not on steam connected to steam multiplayer games. You will probably find that those on steam can join no problem and those with stand alone copies of the game can only connect peer to peer with each other. Depending on how many people you plan to have attend this your internet bandwidth could be a concern, especially if those attending dont have the game installed on their system yet and they need to download say a 12GB game for each person needing the game, it could cripple your LAN Party. Id suggest that those who plan on playing already have the games to be played installed so that they dont cripple your network and ruin the gaming for everyone.

Its been a few years since I hosted a LAN Party. We use to do it at my office where I worked. There was a conference room and so we were able to order pizza delivery and connect to a different network than the corporate network and game together with up to 8 people playing at a time evenings and on one LAN party gathering there was a game patch that Tuesday before that Friday and those who didnt play World of Warcraft on a daily basis but liked to LAN party with us connected and having two people of the 8 getting a 2.5 GB patch over DSL connection made for lag for us 6 others who wanted to poke around in game while they were patching up. Latency was pretty rough with 2 people getting patched and using up most of our bandwidth.

Solve : New to Steam and library not playing along?

Answer»

Greetings!

Im getting SLIGHTLY annoyed because I am NEW to steam and what I can't seem to understand is I've added a few games to my "library" on steam, but each time I install steam on a new PC my library is empty. Should It not have the games that I already installed? For example. I have downloaded Trackmania NATIONS forever, and when I search for it on the new Pc I just got up and running it says in the green box (in library) but before I install it my actual library from the top is empty. even the drop down says 0. So each time I go to my other PC I have to go back to the previous to research what free games I have installed and search for them. Is this normal? Your Steam library tracks the games you've PAID for; as a result, free games don't appear in your library when there is no local CONTENT for the game.

This was actually because there were a lot of complaints when, previously, all free games appeared in your library, as well as later when they changed it so that free games would appear in your library after you played them.BC_Programmer,

Thanks for the quick reply. Started to assume that was the case but was not able to confirm. So thank you i appreciate that.

Solve : Free games for Crap PC's?

Answer»

Hey Guys!

Looking for! As the title states, free games (or even cheap) titles that your average PC can handle. I have 2 laptops that I will be handing down that have first and second GENERATION i5 CPU's 4gb ram, and Intel HD 3000 (and I forget the other card) LOL.

I have a copy of Mario forever installed as well as GTA VC, but was wondering if there is any free titles that can be run smoothly on a PC like this. Any suggestions will be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you. As far as titles that will run, too many to list. Pretty much older games if free for play will probably run fine.

What about asking the end users who will be receiving these laptops what they have for game interests and then have a more refined focus of games?

FPS Games that come to mind:

Alien Arena is free and will play on that and its sort of like Unreal Tournament with online multiplayer death matches as well as solo play against AI bots. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_Arena_(video_game)

Warsow is free to play and also like Unreal Tournament with online multiplayer death matches https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warsow_(video_game)
So many flash based games will run fine through browser on these that dont require install.

One online free to play game site that I like is Wellgames where I play a math game called Digitz through here: https://wellgames.com/free_online/digitz/
I like the game in that you can compete with others to piece together MATHEMATICAL puzzles such as the number is 14 and you have to pair up 7 and 7, 6 and 8 and 9 and 5, or even combination sums like 7,6, and 1 etc to get rid of all the blocks before your opponent does or not compete for who goes out first but play it intentionally messing up so that you can go for a massively large score as for when you mess up it adds more number blocks so you can sort of exploit this in the game for a very high score as long as you can keep the math going to keep solving them etc.

Solve : I need hopes help with PoE and Windows XP?

Answer»

Hi, I have been asking in other forums and I have not got an answer. I typed in Google "hope" and so I found you :-)

I'm running a Diablo 3 farm, Path of Exile and I'm starting with the Rocket League. Computers that I "play" in the Path of Exile have Windows XP installed. Everything worked until I updated PoE to the new FALL of Oriath - then I completely lost the graphics. I do not see anything, as if the monitor was not working (works, after ctr + alt + delete appears a window).
It works, I hear music, and when I click (do not see) I hear how I move around the MENU. On computers with other software ie Windows 7 and Windows 8 - the problem is not there and PoE works nicely. I very much care if there are any PoE players here, I will gladly give them some Exalted Orbs or other Orbs in return for help.I play PoE off and on myself as well as D3... Never played rocket league.

It appears that the VIDEO card your USING cant handle the new Fall of Oriath maybe. The system requirements are greater for the expansion. What do you have for a system and graphics card? Maybe you will get lucky and just need a driver update for the GPU... *Also... Help Here is ALWAYS FREE ... dont worry about sending me anything.

Worst case scenario might be to buy a better video card for the system. But before spending any money lets verify what you have for hardware and check all free options first.

Solve : Computer won't launch disc-based games?

Answer»

So my old computer crashed years ago, and only about last year did I get myself a new computer. However it originally didn't have a DVD drive, recently I bought myself and External DVD drive and installed a lot of my favorite classic games I still had. And while they installed successfully with no problem they won't actually play. I can get the game to open a 'launch menu', but when I actually try to start the game from there nothing happens. I tried running it in various compatibility modes to no avail.

And I am pretty sure that it's not a graphics card issue because the games I am trying to run are years old (like the F.E.A.R. Platinum Collection for example) and my computer runs newer games through Steam with much higher graphical demands (like the Witcher 2) no problem. It really seems like there is some communication problem between the computer itself and the External DVD, but only when I try launch the game, as it installed fine and also runs fine until you get to the launch menu.Might be antipiracy feature not playing well with external drive.

I'd suggest replacing the internal DVD ROM and the problem should then be solved.

Thinking this is a problem similar to a problem I had with antipiracy feature. My issue was that I had 2 computers a older slower computer and a better gaming system with a damaged DVD ROM that my daughter at age 2 decided to snap off the tray after pushing the button that she saw me push that makes tray pop out for a disc, and I figured why not just share through a drive mapping the DVD ROM on my slower machine for my faster machine to be able to play games that will play on the faster machine. Well it worked ok for some games that dont have antipiracy feature that verifies its a local drive, but for discs that have the antipiracy feature that verify that the disc is in a physical optical drive, the physical optical drive wasnt able to be detected over my NETWORK, i tried a few tricks to try to tricking it into seeing the drive as a DVD ROM when its is one, but it was showing up as a mapped drive which looked more like a hard drive with 4GB of read only data at it. *My solution was to just buy a DVD RW drive and replace it. But in the meantime open up both computers and borrow the older DVD ROM from the slower computer until the replacement came in.

THERE IS NO LEGAL WAY AROUND ANTI-PIRACY FEATURES. So Internal DVD Drive is needed! You need a No-Disc Patch for the game.

From what i can find, The Disc-based versions of F.E.A.R use an anti-piracy software called "SecuROM". SecuROM and SafeDisc are both ALTOGETHER incompatible with Windows 10. Or perhaps it's more accurate to say Windows 10 is intentionally incompatible with SecuROM and SafeDisc; as both have a large number of problems from having security vulnerabilities that allow attackers to run kernel level code to actually destroying certain types of CD and DVD Drives altogether or making drives "disappear" from the system and become inaccessible. Windows 8.1 also received a security update which disabled both technologies due to the issue.

A No-DVD patch for the game will allow you to play the game since it removes this DRM aspect to the title altogether. Given that the DRM METHOD is a known security flaw and can PHYSICALLY damage drives, I think we can make an exception to the general rule we have in regards to "Game cracks" for this one. Thanks for that info BC.... I wasnt aware of the issues with Windows 10 and older games with antipiracy. Learned something new and to be aware of when using my Windows 10 laptop with older games.

Hi ! I'm Thierry . I don't have a lot of spare time, but when I do I like something relatively uncomplicated. Graphics need not be good. I SUPPOSE what I'd really like is something like civilization I - highly addictive, being able to play half asleep, computer opponents only, and maybe turn-based. I don't want anything with a steep LEARNING curve. It has to work on my 64bit machine. Buy, free, or whatever. Willing to pay if it fills the bill. แทงบอลเงินสด
Thanks in advance for any help.
สมัครแทงบอลเงินสด
P.S. Don't steer me to emulators please. I've set up three of them for Civilization I, and they were all an unsatisfactory pains in the arse.Game I am currently playing is a game that is free, has dailies, and pvp, and is kind of like civilization but different. If you pay to play instead of free play you will have advantages above that of the free players. I have been playing it for free for about 9 months and created 4 accounts on it. I can trade materials between my 4 accounts to help myself out or trade with other people in the auction house which is material trade one thing for another with 1 for 1 up to 2 for 1 or 1 for 2.

Forge of Empires is the game. Its flash browser based and will run on just about any computer that has the latest adobe flash INSTALLED. https://us0.forgeofempires.com/page/

I would suggest the computer specs be a Core 2 Duo or Athlon 64 x2 2.0Ghz with 512MB Video RAM or better Desktop computer or better. And if its a laptop that it be one that is no older than about 4 years old.

I tried this game with Linux and it wont work because it requires the currently latest Windows platform Adobe Flash installed or else it gives a error message that the Adobe Flash is out of date.

I have played this game on Windows XP, Windows 7 32 & 64-bit, as well as Windows 10 64-bit and no problems. But of the system specs are weak, the game will lag because it is CPU core intensive as flash uses a single core of a multiple core system to process.

Systems that were laggy were:

Core 2 Duo 1.6Ghz Laptop with Intel 945 Graphics 2GB RAM, 256MB Video RAM shared with system - Windows 7 32-bit
Intel Atom n280 1.66Ghz Netbook with Intel Graphics, 2GB RAM, 256MB Video RAM shared with system RAM - Windows XP 32-bit Home SP3

Systems that played it well were:

Athlon 64 x2 4450B 2.3Ghz 4GB RAM - Windows 7 64-bit with Radeon HD 5450 1GB Video Card
Athlon II x4 620 2.6Ghz 4GB RAM - Windows 7 64-bit with Geforce 730 GT 2GB Video Card
Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz 4GB RAM - Windows 7 64-bit with Geforce 9800GT 512MB video Card
Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz 6GB RAM - Windows 7 64-bit with Geforce GTX 260 video card
Core i3 3.4Ghz 4GB RAM - Windows 7 64-bit with Intel HD Graphics Integrated
Core i3 2.1Ghz 8GB RAM - Windows 10 64-bit New Laptop with Intel HD Graphics Integrated

In screenshots below... The first is a general layout of the city of 1 of 4 accounts and many ITEMS there generate stuff, Materials, Supplies, Money, Forge Points, Medals, and other stuff. Next picture if of current summer event in which I won a rare item. This item has multiple abilities as shown, as well as last picture is my small but strong army that i have on defense mode currently. I get rare or higher level than my current level fighters from events and other various ways. This account is a manufacturer of goods mostly, but i have to defend my goods otherwise someone can pillage once per 24 hours. I am just about never pillaged because I have a good defense. If pillaged they steal whatever item or items were ready to be clicked on no building damage so you just need to click to make more or whatever was stolen. Fighting is turn based and randomly generated turn based. You can have the bot play for you or you can decide how to fight your battles. Its a playing field with you on one side of screen and the enemy on other, there is ranged and melee you up your crit and armor by buffing your city with silver from tavern or permanently increase the stats though towers and stuff that up your defenses and critical strikes. ADDITIONALLY each type of fighter has abilities, some such as this rogue can be tricky and so while this rogue can instantly kill a player with high damage with 10x to 12x the hit points of most I am up against, his armor is 1 which means he is dead easily, however if you read the special ability you will see that depending on army he may not be instantly killed and can still fight 1 move if army is set up a certain way.

This game is one that doesnt take much brains to play, but also has the ability to make you think about what kind of army you have and how to fight to win or set up a proper defense to protect your city from people pillaging. It has choices of what time intervals to use for making stuff such as 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 1 hour, 4 hours, 8 hours, 24 hours, and some have 2 days to make items. When you gather your goods you select what interval to make stuff under, such as your going to work, you can set it to 8 hours for each item that will make stuff while your away. get home from work and gather items minus any that were pillaged if defenses are weak.

There is lots more to this than what I shared. Its worth checking out since its free to play.

Solve : how much fps in csgo with i5 1050gtx?

Answer»

hello guys, i want to know how much fps in csgo with i5 3.6 gen 1 16gb ram and gpu 1050gtx 2gb any help i will be thankful.Which graphics settings are you aiming for in CS:GO?

I'm pretty sure it can shoot up to 200 fps (yes pun INTENDED) if you minimize all settings.

If you're LOOKING to maximize your fps, here's a guide I FOUND on steam community:

Solve : Personal Cloud Storage + Gaming?

Answer»

Hello everyone,

I have been looking into the internet about Personal Cloud Storage (PCS) used with gaming.

I didn't find any SPECIFIC or good ANSWER yet, so I'd like to ask here the following:

I want to user a PCS to save the games on it, and then when I want to play the game, simply I load the game from the PCS. Is this possible? I think the answer is Yes.

Now the performance part, this is the most important part.
Will the performancel be good? Will it depends on the PC? Or on the PCS? I think both of them.
Who AFFECTS more on the performance, pc or PCS?

I'm PLANNING to get "My Cloud" for the following purpose (Hardware), and my pc has gaming specs.

I would like to hear what do you think about the idea, and is it feasible, or will it affect the performance a lot.

Thank you,

Solve : Notebook freezes/lockpus while playing online games?

Answer»

Hi everyone, how are you? I am new on this site and i have the next problem:

I have a brand new Notebook (specs at the bottom) and had just installed 3 licensed products: Unity for future work; Hearthstone and Elder Scroll Legends for my brother.

The problem is that every time my brother plays any of those two games the notebook freezes completely after 3 minute or even less. And by that i mean the monitor shows the last frame captured; keyboard/pad don't work; it keeps making a weird sound; and after any AMOUNT of time the only way to "fix it" is to restarting it by force. The same happen while watching videos on youtube but is way less frequent.

I ALREADY send it once to tech support from the store and they said it was totally ok since it past all "stress test" and won't give me another/give my money back until they find something wrong. Now is suppose to be on the main central store and the Final Boss technician will do a complete soft/hardware search to find my problem, but since capitalism rules this world am afraid they won't do the work properly and tell the same story.

And what's worst, if they only grant me access to internet on their stores i could replicate the problem in no time, but NO, i have to wait 2 sessions of 72 hrs each (no weekends included) because not even the chief and supervisor of the central store can give me a simple wifi access.

Hope you can help me and thank you anyways.
