I personally think Geforce is better i had to put up with a smelly radeon 9200 yuk , go with geforce , i think there the best.... and there cards look great....there nofing like Geforce performance.... Do you think my graphics card meets the requirements to play World of Warcraft? It's the X800. I think it's pretty good but I'm not quite sure. well heres the system requirements to play world of war craft :

NP LOL also i think you should try and get a extra gb of ram.......... it could change your whole gaming experience or it could just make it a tad bit faster lol but its always good...... Gluck I have a ATI grafics card, I noticed when I installed it that It had a fan connected to it. Your fan may be malfunctioning. Just an idea.

i downloaded crossfire for windows and when i installed it, it said that it cannot find python25.dll and that this stops the server from loading and i dont know where to GET this dll from

Just Download the dll file from http://www.dll-files.com and put it in your system folder of windows main folder but first extract it also

Just found these 5 1/4" floppies at my grandpa's house. Went to install the game and it has some kind of crappy copy protection where it ASKS you questions from the users manual. I don't have this manual, so if anybody has the ANSWERS to these questions, I would appreciate it. These are not illegal COPIES or anything, so I don't think I'm breaking any RULES by asking this... I first start out with The sims Deluxe EDITION. I finish installing then i try to install the expansion packs, Hotdat, SUPERSTAR, Making MAGIC and it will install but then when finished it says that i need to get a update so it does, but then it says i need to uninstall the sims deluxe edition then REMOVING my expansions, so on so forth try it again, same problem.. I DUNNO whats up.

Ok, whenever I play games on my pc (usually Black + White 2, Sims 2, Overlord at the moment) after about 10 minutes it slows down, alot, it's really really laggy.

I wait for about 2-5 minutes and it's running fine again.

But after this it's happening every 5 minutes and it makes a game really really unplayable and annoying!

I have ran virus scans etc and everything alright.

I played some of these games a few months back and everything was fine.

Heres my specs if it's any help

Windows Vista
AMD Athlon 3700+
2gig ram
NVidia GeForce 7600gt

The cyclical lagging sounds like one of two things: either your processor USE is spiking to 100% or your HDD is being accessed at regular intervals. If it's not your hard disk (and I'm guessing you would have let us know if it was), then we need to determine why your CPU use is spiking at regular intervals.

The first thing I'd try is getting a can of compressed air and dusting out the inside of your computer (turn it off first). Excess dust in the case may cause reduced airflow, causing the processor to overheat. There are safety features in your processor to keep it from destroying itself, so when your processor gets too hot, it is forcibly slowed down to let it cool off. After you dust out your computer, give it a couple hours to cool down inside. Then power up try playing your games again. If that doesn't work, we'll try something else.Ok I've just looked in the case and yes it's very dusty, and I noticed the heatsink is clogged with it :/

Im using windows xp and my graphic card is Nvidia geforce 7600 GS.
You mean the random artifacts showing up?
There are several causes of this problem.
Clean your PC out first, following the steps here.
Then, if that doesn't help, reinstall your drivers.
1. Download the new drivers, but don't install them.
2. Uninstall the old drivers.
3. Reboot.
4. Install new drivers.
5. Reboot.
See if that helps.
If neither of those help, TRY reinstalling the game.

If it's heat, then cleaning your PC, as I said, would help, did you try that yet?

I had this game installed into my computer already and I ended up having to unistall it.
I am now trying to reinstall this into my computer and its gets to about 15% and this error pops up. It says "Component Error"?? It didn't do it before!!

Ok, I heard this through a friend and so I have no proof or websites saying anything about it, but I heard rumors that Bungee (sp?) was thinking about the possibility of making Halo 3 for the Wii??? Has anyone else heard about this? I haven't heard many people talking about it or anything so I kinda figured it was either short lived or just not true at all. Just figured I'd ASK to see if anyone else has heard this rumor or KNEW more about it... Never heard the rumour, and personally I doubt it.
Microsoft kept Halo and Halo 2 for Xbox and later PC only, I don't think they would change their strategy for the next incarnation.
There are so many people that want the Halo games, MS would lose a lot of money if they licensed the series to another games console company.I seriously doubt it's going to be for the Wii. I have installed PRoject IGI 1 .. The game LOADS properly ,ut on the main menu im not able to view the mouse cursor and when i play the game i don see the weapon's CROSSHAIR..i have Nvidia geforce2MX and 256MB of RAM,windows XpUninstall the game, use CCleaner and remove any remnants of the game.
Then reinstall it.This is driver problem. Try to find 45.23 version of Nvidia drivers it would be helpful. Anyway this is a time to do an UPGRADE

Hi guys!
I recently bought F.E.A.R and i have played for a few hours. Now when i am in the end of the state/mission which name is "Bishop" and just jump over the "wooden fence" and it starts to load, so far so good.
But when it has loaded and it says "press any key to CONTINUE", i press any key and then the only thing i can SEE is the hud+the gun, everything else is black, and when i for example shoot, it laggs veryvery much and so on...



Thats how the "wood fence looks like" and when i jump over it a loading screen comes up, and when loaded it says press any key and when i do that the game looks like this:





Please anyone help?
The compueter is "good enough" , game works fine and i even today checked at System Requirements lab if my computer can run Fear, and everything was ok.

i seem to have a problem with the start-up of star craft one, it keeps asking for a file.

Now i have un-installed and re-installed it 5+ish times now and im a little stumpted, the CD is in QUITE good condition and the PC is 6 months old

I can change my video card memory size i can change it from 32 up to 128 but it takes computer rams... So wich setting is better does the 384Ram and The 128MB Videocard or the 448Ram and the 64MB Videocard ?It wouldn't really make any difference, but you could try both and see which you think is better.
One way there is LESS RAM but the video card has more shared RAM, the other way you have more system RAM but the video card has less shared RAM.
The former may be better for some games, the latter will give better performance elsewhere.

in the FALLING sand games, the most annoying thing is when you have a SWEET bomb an dthen your comp starts lagging lol i just was toying with my backgrounds and stuff and i FOUND out that a good way to reduce lags (at least on WinXP) is to do the following

1. right click on any empty desktop space
2. go to properties
3. go to settings
4. go to "advanced"
5. go to "troubleshooting"
6. move the slider all the way to "none" and press OK in both windowsReally . . . that's interesting.
It shouldn't really HELP, moving the slider to the right increases performance.
The falling sand games lag on my machine too, Java seems to kill off the PC and suck my CPU, always has.

I used to have a Logitech gaming pad but then it started to go weird with the left analog stick, then I got a Thrustmaster(the red one with the rumble) and it worked great last year but then the left analog stick is now going bad too.

Basically, with both my Thrustmaster and Logitech gamepads, the analog stick is acting like this.

I press left on the left stick and my player character(in all my games too) will snap right, then move left. If I hold it to the left and RELEASE, he/she will snap to the right. Same with up, press it, character will snap down, then move up. Release up, player will snap down for 1 second. Same thing if at the gamepad test application, the little cross thing will snap down/right when pressing left/up.

I EVEN updated my drivers and that still doesn't fix the issue.I "think" I might try this one myself*

I am having problems with my internet explorer SHUTTING down on me while i am playing pool on pogo.com with my java running. It is a work computer and we are all on the same server. When I open up Pogo.com it works fine. Its when i open a table that it shuts down. It doesnt happen all the time but pretty much 85% of the time. After it shuts down i get this error icon on my desktop that has to do with Java but i dont understand it. something else that may have to do with it is we have 2 computer screens that run off from one computer and they have different screen resolutions. Can somebody please help me!!!! I have cleaned out my cache, all the temp files and cookies and things. I have also tried to uninstall java and reinstall it. That didnt work. I hope someone can help me.

I'm sure Calum would've RECOMMENDED it as well.That would be my advice if a) IE wouldn't work after I'd done my best, b) as part of the troubleshooting process and c) as something to consider should it be fixed.
Definitely try Firefox, if it works with that then it's an IE problem, therefore you can just sue Firefox if you're not crazy about IE.
Besides, I think you'll like it better.the only thing i can think of that they did before i started having problems was change the screen resolution on one of the monitors. They could have done something else with it but i wouldnt know it. I have internet explorer 7.1 installed and java 1.6.0 installed. I cant install firefox because it is a work computer. I am ready to install some of my games in my puter...
1 # 320 gig seagate sata 16mb (raid O would not go with the one bad hd I had)

I already have the drive formatted in NTSF and running xp-pro with a fair amount of other applications/ software.

What is the best way for me to install these games ?
I have read and attempted , a partition but really don't know what the heck I'm doing... I was "going" to partition (3 weeks ago) a 25 gig area just for the os (lol

I just install them on my OS partition I have a seperate partition that i keep documents my mp3's and stuff on. That way when i have to reinstall It's just the one partition that i need to redo and all my other stuff is still savedIf you were to partition, it wouldn't do a whole lot of good, as far as I am aware you would lose all your data if you tried it now.
Besides, it wouldn't protect your games if the HD was to fail or something if they were on the same drive.
Just install them on your main (only) drive and partition, that's what I do.

My question is how can i make changes to EDIT the PROPERTIES of the shortcut in the target field area? Everytime i try to make the change the file i make specified target box is not valid. Although I don't have much information from you, my guess it that the target file includes spaces. In that case, you'll have to add double-quotes around the filepath (i.e. "C:\Folder\My Games\game.exe")To access the cheats in Krossfire, you must do two things:



The game must be run with the command line option '-badnews'.

To do this you should make a shortcut to the kknd2.exe file. Next you need to edit the properties of the shortcut ([ALT]+[ENTER]). In the target field, add '-badnews' to the end of the line. It should look something like this:

C:\Games\KKND Krossfire\Kknd2.exe" -badnews

Somewhere (I think its EITHER Electronics, or Miscellaneous) there should be a payphone.

The only way to get your sim back now is to exit the game.

Ive just bought flight simulatorx.Both my pc and laptop freeze at times while playing(which ive DONE only a few time).I need and are GOING to buy a new laptop or notebook.Wondering if anyone could give me some ideas or thoughts as to which brand and system i should go for.Im leaning towards dell or hp,but not sure what all i need to sopprt the game,ive heard others say they had had trouble also with this.Any infor would be appreciated? I play a lot of Halo PC and my mouse is fine. Right click, left click and scroll...That is a pretty good gaming mouse. I use a microsoft wireless 6000 keyboard and mouse personally.When I was looking for a good mouse, the MX518 was one that popped up quite a lot as a good gaming mouse for the price, and a great alternative to the G5 for much cheaper.

Please answer all of the above questions. I'm WILLING to bet that Compatibility Mode will help out, so be sure to try it. Just right-click on the executable FILE and go to Properties and then click on the Compatibility tab. Choose Windows 98 and click OK and try the game. If that doesn't work, do the same thing but choose Windows 95 (the version it was originally DESIGNED for). Let me know how it goes.

meh... i don't really like the storyline in a any of them... i just like the utter customisation and character development.

Yeah Dark Blade, Gold and Silver is the one with the red Gyrados and the secret underground base.
I think Ruby and Sapphire has good storylines too and good graphics.

I wouldn't recommend playing World of Warcraft with only 256 MB of RAM. I'd have at least a 1 GB for that.

If you're into games, consider either a few upgrades or an entirely new PC.
I realise that may not be an option right now, but no modern games will work on that setup.

Aside from that, I highly recommend the Command&Conquer series (not the latest one though, it's too demanding).
Also, how about the old Unreal and Unreal Tournament games? (Not the 04 version, too demanding)
They were pretty good.
Halo PC might be worth a look too.
I realise most of those are shooters, I play FPS games mostly and no RPGs.

It's odd that Crucial had nothing for you.Battlefield 1942 might work okay on low settings. Halo probably isn't a good idea to try, it seems like its graphics engine is inefficient and needs more horsepower than you would expect. Counter-Strike will definately work quite well on that setup. For strategy you could try Warcraft III or Age of Mythology. I don't play RPG's much..... Diablo II maybe?Halo isn't well optimized, true, but the min. REQUIREMENTS are a 32Mb card, GeForce 2 class.
That may be a bit OPTIMISTIC, but consider double that (GeForce 4, 64Mb) as minimum, then consider his card (Radeon 9250, 128Mb).
Then consider 1.25Gb of RAM which he now has.
I think he should be able to run it on medium settings fairly well.
Oh, and what about Starcraft?Starcraft should work. About Halo, It lagged on my old computer at 1024X768 with everything on low and textures on high. The computer had XP, 768 RAM, Celeron 2.4, GeForce FX 5200 128 MB. I never tried any tweaks though...The 9250 is slightly more powerful than your 5200, and he has more RAM.
A slower CPU might affect performance a little though, but probably not all that much.Try Diablo 2. This is a great game, and it would run good on your PC.I'd upgrade the processor. Celerons aren't known to be too fast. I honestly didn't realize how many games they could handle until I read this thread. Recently I got Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb for PC. While playing the game, I am having a hard time controlling Indy. The controls are way to responsive. There is no way to slow it down in the menu options. I looked online and realized this is a problem others are experiencing as well. I have not been able to find a solution to this. What I find weird is that the demo of this game runs fine, YET the full version runs ridiculously fast to the point the game is unplayable. Just pressing the 'w' key to move forward has Indy across an area in less than a second. Any help would be great.

EDIT: I INSTALLED it on the old desktop computer and though it takes like a minute plus to load it runs great. I'm no hardware expert, but I came up with an idea on why it runs so fast on the new computer. Our new HP is an AMD dual core while the old desktop is an Intel P4. Just my guess for a game thats several years old. By the way, both COMPUTERS use XP.Either its a poorly made game, you are experiencing lag because of a poor graphics engine (though I doubt it), or the NEWER computer simply doesn't like the game.

Jonas With the same graphics? Not that I know of. There is a freeware one I have called Pawn, but it's REALLY basic.

'Enemy Territory: Quake Wars'

Activision’s “Enemy Territory: Quake Wars” is the latest game in the “Quake” lineage. 'Sam and Max: Season 1'

While shooter games make up a good chunk of the titles released for the PC, they’re not all that’s available. Dig around and you’ll find some interesting fare, like the Adventure COMPANY’s “Sam and Max: Season 1.”

This fun detective game will have you playing as Sam, the six-foot tall dog in a grey suit who solves crime with a little help from his sidekick, Max, a rabbit-esque creature half Sam’s size. Together they’re on a mission to catch criminals and crack a mind control conspiracy, as well as crack a few jokes.

This game is not really new; it’s a collection of the six previously available episodic games that together make up “Season 1.” But we look forward to this box set being released August 7th not just because we’ll have all the games in one place, but for all the extras that come with the game, like previously unreleased character biographies and a behind-the-scenes video.

I installed it and everything yet when i put the cd in a blank screen just come up and then an error POPS up or the blank screen just goes away. I want to play it so bad. I played it last summer and I was addicted and I just wanna play it again!!! someone help. We'd like to know what the eror message states...so include that in your next post...

Call of duty 2 , is what i would call , a great game it has everything i can dream of in a 1st person world war shoot em up , i have done this game on all platforms on the 360 , but medal of honor i think is going to come back and bite call of duty in the a**.......I've only played Call of Duty 2 on the PS2 but I MUST admit that I was hooked from day 1. I'm not sure my PC could handle it yet, (maybe one day.... ) but I really enjoyed it on the PS2.I have got it on my pc, just played it trough a couple days ago, and i loved every SECOND of it!

To check your Operating System, right click on My Computer and go to Properties. It should tell you there.
Also, what browser are you using and what site are you talking about?Shouldn't it just be easyer to just blok the sites that you may not enter?

There is no special gaming-only internet. You will simply have to earn their trust. Or, you could remove all browsers from your computer (not recommended) and/or offer to let them install monitoring software on your computer.
