I wasn't sure of whether or not to BUY Battle For Middle Earth 2 or not, but I wanted to try it out. Like most games, it has a demo. So... I chose to download it.

Great... the demo is a whopping 0.95 GB. GB! Even on DSL, that eats my ability to browse the Internet with any speed for at least an hour. I know because I started at about 8:50 PM at GMT-8 and now it's 10:08. 88%.

All I can say is the game has gotta be huge in comparison to this petty demo. But the demo is so freaking huge... there'd BETTER be a midget cradling each packet on the way to my hard drive. And this had better *censored* well be worth my bandwith and time to download. If not, I'll eat my router.

Raptor, it is DSL. Faster than Dial-up, slower than cable. My average download speed is 150 KB/s.

Unless it's free for download *legally* we can't help.there was this game and i downloaded it it had a .mdf file i used deamon TOOLS to play it. is it possible to burn that. google told me something about a cd image and something about .cue files i didnt really understand so i thought ill come to you guys.

I've been having problems whenever I open these two game programs. The PROBLEM is that I am able to open both programs as long as one is MINIMIZED. Once both are placed side by side(both restored, but not in full screen;half and half), my computer WOULD lockup, then either come BACK to life or just restart by itself. I know i am able to play both at same time because i was able to open both on with no problem as long as one is minimized. I want to be able to play with both windows next to each other without the constant freezing of the computer. I am worried that if I change anything, I would end up having problems starting the computer. I just want to know if there are any suggestions as to what I should do to solve this constant lockup of my computer. I have a Pentium 4 processor, about 1 GB of ram, and my video card is an ati radeon x700 256MB.How do you plat two at once?I have program that a FRIEND gave me that allows you to do that. My reason for doing that is because i want to be able to play two accounts at the same time. Since i got no laptop or another computer, this was what i thought was the only thing to do to be able to play by two.

If your search the Internet it shouldn't be hard to find another cd-key. Just make sure your computer is well protected, because some of "those" kinds of sites contain nasty viruses.

Or you could always ring up customer support. Sometimes works you KNOW.Virus site. Not to mention we do not do warez and cracks.

  I have the Sims Deluxe version for my Windows 2000. I hated an expansion and uninstalled the whole thing now I re-install and it goes through the steps, the game loads then after it says "Adjusting Emotional Weights" I am returned to my desktop. I have tried Sims Eraser but it didn't work and it took me 2 hours to get the Sims Eraser.  It's my favorite game and I don't want to buy a new one at this point. We hired a computer guy and he didn't do anything to help.  Well, he did but I guess it didn't work. If anyone has any ideas I would be so happy, thanks.I doubt buying a new copy of the game will work.

What is Sims Eraser and what does it do? How did you uninstall it, using the offical uninstaller? What exactly did this computer guy do?You hired someone to make The Sims work?  :-?The Sim Eraser is supposed to get rid of EVERYTHING Sims in your computer so that way it will work if it says you can't reinstall because it's already installed even though it's not installed which I guess happens sometimes. I know CONFUSING but I can't THINK of a better way to explain it.  Then you get Sim Eraser which wipes all Sims from the registry or something like that. I unistalled it using the official uninstaller  because I went to Add/Change Programs on my computer and uninstalled it from there. And it said uninstallation complete.


I didn't hire a computer guy to fix Sims he was suppposed to fix my internet which had spyware at the time. He also installed a pop-up blocker and such.  I just asked if he could fix Sims to. He said he did but he didn't, I think he just re-installed it. Trust me I wouldn't spend money on it if I could figure it out by myself which I'm failing at OBVIOUSLY .   It's just getting tiresome is all. And I figured someone might know what to do because I'm fresh out of ideas.

Also download and install the latest drivers available for your videocard, soundcard and perhaps even chipset.
Do you have the latest patches installed? Try installing the expansion pack again. Perhaps the registry junk left behind only recognises the expanded edition?IIRC, The Sims Deluxe Edition is simply The Sims + Livin' Large Expansion.

Hi.  I have a prob that is LITERALLY driving me insane.  I have a little ole spongebob game that played fine on my old ancient computer..but for some reason, when i try to play it on my new computer, i get an error! memory access violation window and game closes down.
It baffles me because i'm still able to the the couple other much larger, more detailed games i have.  I have run a virus scan and all is clean. I fear that a couple weeks ago when my brother installed a registry cleaner on my puter, it might have deleted some needed application.  It seemed to be deleting a lot of stuff and i stopped it and deleted the whole thing off my computer, which i realize now was a mistake because maybe i could have recovered some of what i lost.
any ideas on how to fix a memory access violation? because i'm thisclose to just using system recovery.

If it were me, I would backup my data, reinstall Windows and password protect the machine from your brother.   tyvm ...checkin out the memtest thing and preparing myself for reinstallation  Let us know the next chapter in the story.  the next chapter is ...further aggravation  

i reinstalled windows to no avail. The game still will not run. I finally started up in safe mode and tried the game again.  This is what it said:

No 3D capable graphics card was found on your pc. This usu indicates your pc is an older model, b4 they came out with 3D cards.  

my computer is one month old!  :-?  i know i can  play 3D games because i have 2 others that are much larger and run just fine...it is only this game that gives me *censored*.

Have you tried compatibility mode? What is the exact name of this ancient game? We just need more details. Was it designed for XP or what operating system?

thks for trying to assist me thoOnboard video is usually marginal at best for INTENSIVE 3d games. Some, like the Sims 2 just will not run without a specific video card listed.

To verify yours is onboard look where it plugs into the monitor cable. If it is from the case itself rather than an expansion slot (one of those add in slots), it is onboard.Maybe the game is just old (believe it or not) to run on your new computer. If the game was made for Windows 9x then perhaps Windows XP will not let the game into certain files or the game doesn't recognize your card. If your on a administrator account then the game should work. If it isn't working still I GUESS your outta luck (unless someone comes up with a better solution).

The game I've been trying to get to work is Sim Tower. Its a really fun game even though its 12-13 years old. My new WinXP machine says it can't run it because it can't find a 16-bit app. Although it works on my old Win95 machine that also uses XP. It runs fine under Windows XP on the old computer. Perhaps the processor is to fast (1.4 Ghz Celeron) on my new machine compared to my old machine (333 Mhz Pentium II). The game runs almost too fast on my old machine. Interesting how some programs are picky on how NEW a computer is.

Is there any way to fix this error?  I noticed that in Doom II for Windows 95 (using the Doom95 port of Doom and Doom II), if you type in "IDMUS00" when PLAYING a game, the game boots out to Windows and gives out the following error MESSAGE:  "I Error Says: W_GetNumForName: d_introa not FOUND!"  Would there be any way to fix this error?  Typing in "IDMUS00" is supposed to make a piece of music play that is supposed to be an alternate intro midi.  If "IDMUS00" is typed in Ultimate Doom or Doom 1 however, I get "I Error Says: Bad Music Number -9".  At least I found a replacement copy of Doomlnch.dll that allows Doom95 to record demos.  At least I won't see the message "I Error Says: W_CacheLumpNum =NumLumps" any more.Double check your sources.Are you sure?  I recently did that, and Doom95 does that no matter which operating system it is on.  The problem with most of the errors lies in the Doom.wad and Doom2.wad files.  Same THING with TNT.wad and Plutonia.wad.  Those errors do not occur during normal GAMEPLAY, because you have to manually type something in the game to cause them.  I generally avoid typing "IDMUS00" if I'm playing any Doom game in that program or any other Doom game.  At least I have Deepsea.  Maybe I can insert d_introa into the .wad and fix the issue.  It's worth an attempt, wouldn't you say?

EDIT:  If you want to reply, go ahead, but I think there's no fix for this problem.  Appearantly, d_introa.mus played when I typed "IDMUS45" in Doom 1.  "IDMUS00" apparantly is supposed to do nothing but produce a message that says "Impossible Selection".Your problem is far too specalist for us to answer it I would suggest that this topic be locked.  There is no answer to this problem, as I found out.Get a new folder of the audio files. Its propably non-exsistent.

I bought GTA SA the other day but i cant figure out how to get my own tracks onto the radio...like the "user Radio Station" or whatever...i READ the "read me" and it says that you can create shortcuts to do it, but dosent say what file to put the files in ....any ONE have any ideas?go to my documents and there is  folder for gta user files or something like that. look through that folder and there is a place where you can put your MP3's. then when you start the game just load the user track station and the game PICKS them up automatically.

I have a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz sound card and a GeForce 3 ti200 graphics card with DVI.   The game requirements recommended are 486SX 20mhz or faster, 4 megs of ram, fast 16 bit SVGA video card, CD-ROM drive with 300k per second transfer rate and general MIDI device and 16 bit PCM sound card.  The disk is not damaged.  

I am following instructions in the game booklet and when I put the disk into my cd-rom drive and type letter of cd-rom followed by a colon and then press enter (again this is the instructions in the booklet) - nothing happens?  No error messages, nothing.  I obviously need step by step instructions on how to install. I'm pretty new at all of this.  Thanks for your helpok try putting the cd into the cd-rom and GOING to my computer and double clicking the cd and seeing if that works..It shows a T7G folder and an icon that says install.bat, ms-DOS batch file 1kb.  I clicked on both - the T7G folder opens to a bunch of files and the ms-dos batch file nothing happens.how old is this game??You'll have difficulty with DOS games on XP.

Click start, run, and type in cmd. Press enter. This will BRING up the DOS prompt. i have a wierd issue concerning this game.while i am playing this game and there is ALOT of action going on (explosions, hundreds of units moving, etc.) it starts to get choppy, however, the performance monitor tells me that my RAM usage is only at 59%, and it doesnt go PAST that. why doesnt it just take up more RAM if its getting choppy?? whats going on??

P.S. any other game can break the 59% mark except this one.What is your graphics card? That can make or break a system. Plus you have not told US your CPU usage!?CPU usage ~60%

again this is ONLY when there is a lot of action happenening.Is there harddrive activity whilst the game goes choppy? If so it would seem to suggest you have insufficent RAM. No harddrive activity suggests your graphics card can't keep up.it is quite possible that my hardrive cant keep up. everything else is more than enough. if it is my harddrive, then why can it run BattleField 2 at its highest quality without ever getting choppy?

BTW battlefield 2 can break the 59% RAM usage barrier it uses about ~%70-80, perhaps thats why it doesnt get choppy. which leads to my original question, why cant AoE break that 59% barrier when alot of action is going on?When you are playing the game, look at the harddrive light and listen to the harddrive sounds, if you can hear them... is the harddrive being accessed frequently whilst in the game?what do you mean by "accessed frequently"? do you mean running processes and SERVICES etc?

i also do not have a hardrive LED on my comp case. as far as i know, i would have to remove the harddrive to actually see the onboard LED.Try turning the detail level down?Age of Empires 3 is a new game. It has newer graphics and it takes a new graphics card to run it.

You have a mid-range graphics card. That means that u can only run the game on medium graphics settings.

RAM usage has nothig to do with performance if u have much of it. You have 2 GB of RAM, while the game only needs 1 GB, that is why ur not seeing the RAM go above 60%. Using more RAM and getting to 70% or higher wouldnt do anything. The game just dosent need it. What it needs is a more powerfull graphics card or for u to turn down the graphics settings, in order for it to run better when there is much action on screen.ic thanks.

Far Cry is a game I've owned for a long time now. But I hadn't yet tried it with my new computer (specs below), so I installed it today, congifured my graphics settings (all to High) and loaded up the game.
It wasn't until I got into the game that I noticed Far Cry isn't detecting my video card (found this by swearing my head off and going to change the otpions, which I assumed had somehow defaulted themselves all to low, but instead noticed that the game will only let me select the Direct X renderer).

This is fairly annoying for me, since on my old computer the game ran relatively well on just the High settings, and I want to run it on the 'Very High' settings. At first I thought it was to do with my G.card's drivers (9.1.3.1), which apparently are causing a lot of trouble with some games because the drivers were simply banged out before they were ready, but now know this not to be true as I rolled back the drivers (8.3.9.0) and the game is still DEFAULTING to the DirectRender3D and low graphics settings, with no leeway at all; it completely ignores any attempt to alter the graphics settings.
Below, as I said, are my computer's specs. Maybe it's my graphics card, maybe it's not. Maybe it's something else, maybe it's not. Either way, perhaps someone reasing this will know what the *censored* is going wrong here.

We don't do cracks or WAREZ here. If you are asking for a crack in any WAY, it's not legal.Daemon Tools. If you are smart, those two words are all you need to know.Unless your BROTHER plans to play online too, give him a no cd patch, and you keep the original disk.

I recently picked up GT Legends ( a racing sim ) and installed it. When I try to bring the game up I am getting an error "No support for texture compression found, DXT texture compression required".
On a racing forum some folks discussed this error and correctied it by changing some settings on their video card.

A built in video card is NOT good enough for high end games. If you get one that is, you need to make sure that you even have the correct slot to put it in AND that the power supply is ADEQUATE. Knowing HP, yours is not.  

I suspect you have a  250-300 w. model of questionable quality.

Actually Red Alert 1 only requires 8MB of RAM. 256MB computers were not available in 1997.

SC, D1, D2, D2:LoD, W1, WII, WIII, WoW All games made by blizzard. Anyone else play any of them?I play Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, and I've had it for over two years. I still find it FUN. From what I've seen, World of Warcraft seems fun too, but I won't be playing it becuase of the monthly fee. Let's face it, $12.95 a month is NOT a deal... Diablo = fun but then got boring, (repetitive)
Warcraft = not strategy
WOW = major waste of time.. (if you like wandering around lost and level crunching then I guess you'll like it)

I play Guild Wars instead, as it puts a bigger emphasis on PvP and less level crunching, thus less time, and also it has no montly fee.I used a hacking(offline duh) utility to put the fun back in D2. But SC was a lot of fun but its not as much afer you beat it. And if you dont have anyone else to make maps for you then you know how to beat your own and thats no fun. W1 was just to dificult to control for me. I dont remember the last time I played WII. W3 was to high a system requirements for me and I havent played WoW. Although I doubt I ever will.the way i see pay-per-month games (such as WoW) is that, if u have to  pay every month, the game software should be free. im not going to BUY a game so i can PAY every month. thats a load of crap. if i wanted to BUY something so i could PAY monthly on it, it would be a house, a car, or other more important items. While playing Starcraft expansion with the newest patch.  My computer is a AMD Athalon XP 1800+ with 512 MB of RAM. I am using Windows XP home ED.  HARD drive is 200 GB. Sound Card is a Creative Audio PCI (ES1370).  Graphics card is A Radeon 9250 ( in the device manager it does have another 9250 LISTED as a secondary but I am unable to remove it). Also I am unable to run the Game Diablo 2.  The Play game Window will pop up but game will not start.So when the window APPEARS, the screen inside is blank? Have you tried updating your video card's drivers?

FlameWhen I click on play to play the game the window disappears like it should then the game processes will SHOW up in the task manager but they will do nothing.  I have also gone to the WEBSITE from the creators of the video card and there are no more updates as of yet that I can get.  I have also made sure that the card is compatible with windows and my computer (because I know there are some that are not).

I recently have been wanting to buy a NEW computer, specifically for gaming. I would like a computer which could run Battlefield 2 on high-medium setting or whatever. i did have to put it together but it was easy$1000 Looks like a Prety Good price For those Specs, id Buy's itif you include one more gig of ram, you can run battlefield 2 with its highest quality graphics settings. right now i have 2 GIGS of RAM and while running BF2 my RAM useage is at 70% (~20% while not playing BF2).My specs are:

1.25gb ram (mixture of DDR400 and DDR333 don't ask)
ATI x1600XT 256mb (a bit better than Nivida 6600GT)

I can run BF2 on  1280x1024 at maximum settings fine.

hey im LOOKING for the original games from, what i think is called, the windows 95 entertainment pack. i remember there was quite a good few games on it, 1 was a downhill skiing game where you had to avoid TREES and go over jumps and cross the finish... and if you went to FAR a yeti came and ate you!?!

another was a cat and mouse game where you had to move a row of blocks and SQUASH the cats into 1 square then they turned to cheese and the mouse could eat them

i just bought Command and Conquer: The First Decade. its a culmination of all 12 of the C&C games. i would just like to know if anyone knows a good place for C&C trainers. or if anybody knows how to edit some FILES....http://www.Google.com  There used to be a Program Called TRAINER Maker.

It had the Facility to change Values in memory, but first you need to find the Right Value.. its hacking, and I had no idea i was hacking when I was using it LoL.

But any how I THOUGHT it was Great you could Rig any value in any Game Program to what you wanted.

But i think the VERSION out now , is not a good, either that or they've hidden the Features that made it work so well

I think Gamespot still have the Odd Trainer as wellI have a trainer for the game I can send you.  Also www.megagames.com is a great SOURCE for trainers for most computer games.

I don't know that much about DOS or windows..or anything. im not /that/ computer literate. But i downloaded the shareware of Quake, and im not sure how to run the program. Any information you need i'll gladly tell, im just not sure what to say. I posted this in the DOS forum, and they told me to post it here, so im not sure what to do.

I actually found the file, a window comes up for a split second, it says it loading, and then it dissapears. x.x What should i do?Is there a readme.txt file on there to peruse?I looked in the files, and on the webpage..couldnt find one.I did a GOOGLE SEARCH for "Shareware Quake help" and found this in two seconds. There are a lot more as well.

<--------------I have quake I and many much other DOS games, such as Descent, One Must Fall (don't ask). One thing you should do is try by a dos prompt. CLick on START, then you click on Run, and you type CMD (then hit enter). It should OPEN a dos prompt. direct yourself to the directory you installed quake (c:\quake by default) and run quake (shown in the link of the previous post). If you don't know the commands in DOS, open a DOS Prompt then type "?" . It wil show you the commands needed to direct yourself in the DOS environment. If that doesn't WORK , DOWNLOAD DosBox. It's a program that emules a DOS environment. I usually use it to run quake  .

I. Bugs, bugs, bugs!

Every Xbox or PSx game I've seen that later came out for the PC was loaded with bugs on the console - there would be crashes, corrupted games, freezes, etc., but by the time they came out on the PC, about 75-80% of the bugs were fixed. Patches made after that resolve about 70% of the rest of the bugs. Where are the comparable patches for console games? AFAIK, they don't exist!

II. Features, man
I remember when Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, a good RPG for SW fans, came out on Xbox. I watched a friend play it. Everyone was a bunch of clones! No, not the clones from the Prequel Trilogy, there was just too much recycling of 3D models and skins! It wasn't Attack of the Clones but it sure felt like it. When it came out on the PC, not only were there less clones, there were more side-adventures (mostly bug-free, I might add) to go on!

Now, that's just one game. But there were OTHERS - none come to the top of my head ATM, but there were more. Another reason to stick with PC's.

III. Price
Console games tend to be $5-$15 more expensive than their less-bug-ridden feature-enhanced PC counterparts. 'Nuff said.

On a more personal level: Computers, unlike consoles, can be easily understood. If something major is going wrong, I can pop open the case, look inside, and almost immediately see what to test, what to fix, what to replace. And PC's can be upgraded. If the game is lagging I can go upgrade my MEMORY or my video card. Consoles? AFAIK only God and the makers of the console know what's inside it and how to fix a hardware ISSUE.

Sorry if I come across a bit harsh, but i've never gotten the point of consoles.I won't be buying anything of the sort. I'm a PC gamer    Price is going to be an issue too. If the PS2 is still about $200, imagine this new system... I'm not paying that price for what it is...

FlameYep.. build your own PC and it will own any new console graphically and pretty much in every category..

In my mind, it goes like this..

Macs > Consoles > Onions on my burgers > PCYou just placed PCs in last place... sorry to nitpick. Xbox 360 is much better than PS3 by far. There is no way Playstation HUB is going to match up to Xbox Live. The PS3 runs only 50 mhz faster than 360 and the 360 has 256 eram. Also, they don't have any good launch TITLES coming out. I would put 360 on top of PC though just because I enjoy console gaming.Good Poll guys and good job in telling me what you think about the PS3

Umm dude what are you talking about, the Japanese LOVE Sony.. Did you even read up on the news about the Xbox360's piling up over there?  They barely even touched the Xbox the past years.. I don't think that trend would likely change soon.  Oh and their graphic cards are about the same, they utilize the 7800GTX and it's really up to the devs of the games on how to use it to their full potential. (I'd also like to note that the PC comes on top once again, as we can utilize TWO 7900GTX's in SLI and totally kill the console competition, at a price however.. blah)

I think that PS3 might have a better performance and graphic than an Xbox 360 well you never know, that why they are coming out late because they might be improving it. The japanese people know that ps2 is more rubbish then xbox 360 so they will try to out match the microsoft company.

I dont know what to say but when halo 3 comes out at the same time as PS3 and ps3 are more powerfull than xboox360 than the xbox price must goes down to know ps3 back, the think is i wouldent know which one to buy?

I have been PLAYING SIMS, with expansion PAK Super STAR.  Really we have them all.  BUT--my Superstar now has 4 1/2 stars and when she comes home she cannot sit down, go to bed, sit on any furniture, or use the toilet.  She shows a "wall" bubble over her HEAD.  I have moved the furniture in queston, I have bought NEW furniture, everyone else in the house can use the furniture, go to bed, and anything they want.  She CAN function in "Vaction" town, but not at home

Do you know what a compiler is? Do you have one? Do you know how to use it? If two of these questions are answered no, you are SOL.  

Well,  i'm not much of a gamer,  but i finlly purchased half life 2 last night,  and i just noticed this little error that is constantly occuring.  on the right of my screen,  there is a little box that apparently displays my ammunition counter,  (during gameplay of course)   This box is on the middle right of my screen,  and is cut off,  like half the box is missing,  all i SEE is the top of the number,  and the top OUTLINE of a box.     In all the screens i've ever seen of the gameplay,  this ammunition counter is LOCATED on the bottum right,   not the middle right,  and is obviously a complete box.        any one heard of such a thing,  and/or know how to fix it.    :-?

doesn't  Steam  give you all the updates/patches,  (it's that security program that you have to go though to play HL 2)  It says that HL 2 is  "100% ready"  which after about 15 minutes it took to get at 100% of downloading at  600 kb/s  i would say i have all the updates.

  and i do have all the driver updates and am running the latest version of catalyst and all that.    ( i did it right too,  cuz i followed instructions given by some of the wonderful people here at CH   )

So,  at first,  i started playing on my 17"  which is a 1280x1024 resolution,  and the game was set to 1024x768 (to give me video card a break i GUESS)   and then i realized that those two resolutions are not proportionate,  so that could be causing it,  so i switched to my other monitor that is 1024x768,   and the problem was still there.     so that's why i came here,  if it was something as simple as a driver update or patch,  i would have not bugged you.

SO,  i am running dual monitors off of that ATI,  so when i say i switched monitors, i mean i set the other to primary, so the game would play off of that one.   but could the dual monitor thing be affecting my game play?  usually  games are fine,  and you just can't move the mouse over to the secondary,   which seems to be the case here,  but  i could be wrong

Each game has it's own intricacies.

I play Battlefield 2 and Cs 1.6 and everytime i play either game, the fans in my computer turn on really fast and for a split second the screen frezzes and the RESUMES the game. Its getting really annoying trying to play and have this going on every 30 seconds.
I know is not my computer becaus my specs exceed the minimum of BF2.

Someone please help What are your SYSTEM temps? Open it up and blow a FAN in there and see if this makes a difference. WHat kind of case ventilation? Has it always been this way? If not, what has changed?ill open up the side PANEL and see if makes any difference or maby ill have to put a mini fan blowing into the tower.You should do both, as I suggested.ever since i upgraded the ram in me laptop from 256 to 512mb my fans always start goin rapidly when the temp sensor on hard drive reads bout 60 celsius. and it aint difficult to get it to that either. transferrin data across the network is enough to push it to that.That's too bad. If we had some details and you posted a new thread instead of hijacking this one we could assist. This origianl poster may never be back, but your problems are entirely different and the solution can be too.  
 

Alright, I got a computer with a dvd burner with some blank DVD+Rs. They have been sitting there because I haven't been able to get a copy of Vista Beta 2. Today I got the idea to take some of the games I have with multiple CDs and just sticking all the files from all of the CDs onto one DVD so I don't have to stand by, change the cd, and press OK. The game in question is FarCry (5CD). Before I go and MAKE myself a NICE coaster, will this work where it'll just continue on without me at least pressing OK? I don't wanna go waste any of my DVDs.I don't believe I woiuld spend one DVD on this exercise. Have you tried a Google search? THere are other ways than this to achieve the desired effect. Some have risks and some cost $$.

I have found an old formula 1 MANAGER game that i am looking at purchasing. HOWEVER it is designed for Windows 95. Does anyone know if i try to PLAY this on XP will it actually work?  :-?No guarantees, and we don't even know what it is. I WOULD suggest the web site of the manufacturer (if they are still around).
