In VB-6 application, there are 15 text boxes and these get data from mdb FILE. I want to use the data of these text boxes in a array, how can I ?
Example
            text1.text=100, text2.text=200 and so on upto text15.text
           Dim test(15),
To put these value in a array
           for i = 1 to 15 
                 test(i)=val(text(i).text))  ' so that test(i) may contain data of text1.text
           next
This is not working, why? Please TELL me reason or solutioncreate a control array.

Or you COULD create a property procedure in your form, for example:

a Control array is created by copy-pasting the same control, or a control with the same name as a control on the form.

I installed MOZY FREE Backup SOFTWARE on my computer by following their instructions.
After installation, my computer kept freezing and then I got the Windows Blue Screen of Death!
Basically, MOZY FREE Backup CRASHED my computer.  I could not even do a system restore. I had to restore my computer from scratch.  I am still in the process of putting back all my programs and files, this is very time consuming.

Furthermore, after I backed up my files, I could not retrieve them USING another computer. It kept telling me that I had to register and install MOZY Backup, it just would not retrieve my previous registration.
I am still not able to retrieve my files.  LUCKILY, I kept local backups on some DVD's. MOZY may be free, but there is always a catch.  Please be aware Mozy free backup could crash your computer?
 Maybe that's how they get you; then they TELL you have to PURCHASE one of their plans???
FYI:  I have 2GB of RAM and a 2.0 GHz AMD processor and it still CRASHED it!

As if you know , windows common view in Windows XP SP3 on a random folder means theres the folder listing in the left SIDE of your explorer window and classic view is that you only see the content of the folder your browsing , the left folder bar is gone .

I got this problem I can't seem to solve on my own . Wether I use common or classical view , the folder bar is still there . In casse i close the folder bar manually and then opening a folder from that window , it opens a new window with the folder bar . I don't want the folder bar in there .

Is there a way to fix it ? Kinda annoyed already . -_-'I really I am not able to understand you very WELL.
I use certain explorer addons like : FileBox eXtender. Give me a lot of new possibilities.

This MAY be a very dumb question but is there a way to have a copy of an email sent from my laptop (for instance) also show in my Sent folder on my PC?  I know how to get my incoming emails in both places but if I send a message, it only appears in the Sent folder of the machine it was sent from.

Thank you.The only way i can think of is you're using a web-based e-MAIL client such as Yahoo or gmail or another...
That way no matter what machine you log in from all your data is there...including the Outbox...
Others here may have some more ideas.The only THING that works for me is one of these three methods.
1. USE a web mail service that can be run on any PC. AOL is just another example. But I like gmail.
2. If you can your own web site with cpanel, you can set up the mail server to use the alternative to pop-3, IMAP, or modify the pop-3 settings to keep the mail on the server.
3. Use a redirect to send a copy to another e-mail account you have.

The #3 is nest CHOICE, IMO.Lots of Google hits for "synchronize email" which look like what you're after.

Is there a way to do this?  I've created an Excel macro to consolidate commission reports and to create a separate Excel workbook for each salesperson.  Now I want to create an e-mail  that attaches a workbook and sends it to the correct salesperson using a macro in Outlook 2003.  Or is there a way to do this in Excel 2003?

TrishMail merge techniques come to mind here.  But, I think your requirements are more complicated than a typical mail merge where, let's SAY, a certain Word document is sent to a list of recipients in an Excel file or an Access database. 

If I understand you correctly, you have a separate Excel file for each salesperson.  Is that right?  Are the NAMES of those files based on the name of the salesperson? 

How would Outlook get the names to send to?  Are all salespersons in an address book or Contacts list that includes no one else?  Do you have contact info for the salespersons in a separate Excel file or an Access database?

I don't know whether I can offer a SOLUTION once you answer these questions, but I think the answers are probably necessary before anyone can help you.Thanks for taking the time to reply to my post.  Yes, I have several Excel files --each named the same name as the salesperson ID.  I don't currently have the salespeople in a distribution list, but that could be done.  The only hitch is that there may or may not be a report to send to each salesperson in any given month.

I'm really looking for the easiest solution to mail these out.  I tried recording a macro in Excel to create an e-mail attachment of each salesperson's workbook and send it, but it did not record the Outlook piece.  Since posting my original REQUEST I've found some code that calls the Outlook application directly in Excel, completes the e-mail fields with variable results, and attaches a workbook, which may solve my problem.  I've already configured Excel to process through a unique list of salespeople who had activity for that month to create the spreadsheets, so I'm going to add the code I've found to that and see if I can get it to work.   

Now I just need the command to send the e-mail, and I think I'll be set.  I'll post the finished code here in case anyone else has any desire to do the same thing.

That may be true but I believe an import is the normal procedure for transferring Outlook data from one computer to another.  Clearly, that's what the import command on Outlook menu is for and many references can be found about this.  Your suggested method may work fine; I just believe an import would be the normal way to do this.

Hi. While attempting to get rid of a virus, I think I accidentally deleted NECESSARY files. Now I can only run my XP in safemode with command prompt. when I did copy, It only copied the files, and not the directories in my music directory. I have lots of subdirectories of all the ARTISTS in my music FOLDER, and it would take forever to do them ONE at a time (only ...music\song.mp3 copied, when I need ...music\artist\song.mp3). How do you copy the directories and all their files? Sorry if I don't make much sense, I'm new to using command prompt. I ran JAVARA, and manually uninstalled, but I do have ONE in the program files - JRE that it will not let me delete.   I tried offline to install java from java.com  stops every time.  My name is Deb and having some issues with my computer.  I can not install Java  Error 25099 (unzipped core file)  I have tried everything on the net and nothing is working.

Then I find an error in the Event Viewer:  from Advast:   Error 90
HTML script-inf has been found in QUESTIONABLE Link removed...

I was WONDERING if anyone knew of any good free animated GIF makers?

I am looking to take say 5 jpg files and use them as frames 1,2,3,4,5 and loop, and I know that this can be done by creating an Animated GIF, but I have never created an animated GIF before so I am looking for help in what software to use that is free or if not free inexpensive maybe.

I know that this could be achieved using Java Script, but concern there is loadtime, where if it were 1 Animated GIF the complete image size I would assume to be less than that of 5 jpgs to load with a java script loop to display for x-many seconds and then increment to load next photo to achieve same affect.

Java script to me seems like making more work for myself to achieve what an animated GIF could do. Also I try to avoid making websites that warn visitors of security blats that I seem have have whenever I IMPLEMENT javascript into my pages. I feel some people may be deturred to back away from a page that warns of security, and an animated GIF wont do that.

Or if someone can show a java script that will display 5 IMAGES at timed INTERVALS that does not warn of security at the top of the web page I am interested in FINDING out how to make that happen, since java script does offer so many more possibilities than just an animated GIF.

Ive got two problems


Problem 1:

Problem with Java, I downloaded Java from Sun Micro systems a while ago and it worked fine. But I haven't used it for a while now and when I try to play a game that requires Java the Window just freezes and I cannot do anything. Ive been DOWNLOADING the automatic updates for Java and Ive tried to uninstall Java and Re-install it, but it still freezes.
Currently using Java 6 Standard Edition Update 15
How can I fix this and start playing my games again?


Problem 2:

Im currently trying to install Microsoft Framework 3.0 but it is not letting me. I currently use Framework 1.1. When I start installing Framework 3.0, its starts the set up fine, takes about 2 minutes for the installation but the it stops the installation and comes up with a
Step Up ERROR:
"An error occured during setup. Installed files have been removed from your computer. For known issues and troubleshooting information, see online Readme. For error information, see Error Log."

and also a window pops up.

"Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 x86 has encountered a problem during setip.
Setup did not complete correctly.

Send Report..." etc.

When I click the Error Log it comes up with:

What do I need to do to set up Framework 3.0?

I bought a Trial version of Word 2007 about a year ago.  I later upgraded over the PHONE to the full version.  For the sake of saving space, I tried to delete the trial version only but my full version was taken away with it.  I have no problem with RELOADING bother versions.  The problem is that I want to take out only the trial.  Is that possible or do they have to leave together?UNLESS disk space is really limited for you, just leave them both in.I really do need the space.
Try seeing if the upgrade will install without the original, it may only ask you for the disk to prove ownership.

Windows (XP) firewall didn't block outgoing traffic, I'm not sure if that's still the case but if it is I wouldn't recommend it for that reason.

however it is futile, in 90% of cases where you use an adequate compression algorithm twice, the reduction will be both insignificant and possibly also redundant due to the overhead of whatever file headers are being used.

While using two different compression algorithms can sometimes bring a further reduction in size, to be frank such reductions are so small as to be insignificant.

I am a Law student INTERESTED in developing a hub of law reports that can be used on individual computers. My friend has one where the user starts up a program and from there they can search for CASES by typing in an input, for example, "Saboi v Matthews" and links to that appear. My question is, what SOFTWARE can i use for that?

The one used on my friends computer is folio builder but that is too expensive. Any alternative you may know of?

I use photoshop too scan everything in this machine, but as of late it still giveing me the same message this function cant be preformed cause another device has control of it, close the program...... any how that is the only thing that is useing it an its been occuring for a good while.  I tried reinstalling had issues an didnt get it to work till recently an same thing is still happening.  HP PSC 1510 all in wonder.  Dell dimension 4100, 2k + SP 4 an semi recent updates.  Not sure why its not working.Open msconfig and on the general tab choose "selective startup" (disable everything from loading) and reboot. Ok, so after making a ubuntu cd and trying ubuntu out on it, I decided it would be a good idea to try and dual boot my old laptop with windows xp home edition and ubuntu 9.04. First i tried to partition the hard drive, but that did not work, so i researched it and decided to use wubi instead. I went through that process and put aside 6 gigabytes for ubuntu to run off of. The process went well, and for a while both systems WORKED together. After awhile, though, windows would not run untill I did like a "clean disk process?" or something. I believe it erased something important to the ubuntu booting system, because now ubuntu will not run, it only goes to a shell, and when i select windows to run, it only restarts the computer and displays the "chose which operating system to run" window again, making it run in a continuous circle. I am only able to post this because i am using the ubuntu cd that i made earlier. It is my goal to have ubuntu off the computer and to have windows back running again. could someone please help? i promise to never mess with this sort of thing again... any advice would be much appreciated. Also is there any way to do this without the windows cd? i lost mine.. thanksBefore you install Ubuntu, or any other OS, you should have some kind of back up that is something other that the same hard drive.
You should be able to get windows XP back to its original state by doing a "repair" install. Or MAYBE the 'Recovery Console'. Both are well DOCUMENTED features of the standard retail version of XP and most, if not all,  of the OEM versions.

A retail version of Windows XP has to be registered on line with MS. Now if it has already been registered with another motherboard you will get a message to the effect that you can not register automatically. You have to call the support number and explain what your are doing. The support person may speak eastern English.

Besides, what are you suggesting? they buy a new copy just to avoid possibly talking to somebody with an accent?

If it still doesn't appear in ADD/REMOVE it may not install through the registry, in which case you can just delete the program folder.It is in the add and remove programs,and I don't have the James Bond program any longer.Is there any other way to uninstall this program besides through the add and remove programs.

I bought a new COMPUTER. I am trying to put an operating system onto it.   I cannot boot from my CD or USB DRIVE   It will not even load Vista 64. I have considered putting in a A drive and feeding in the 6 windows XP Pro boot disks to load Xp Pro but would it help? I have resent defaults  to no avail.  When I boot up normally all I get is a black screen.  When I look at dir in DOS it shows everything in A  with no C mentioned  I have tried FDISK

When a boot disk is in the drive the computer tells me my drives are not active.

In the bios setup utility my boot setting configuration the devices are all in brackets.   The note on the side SAYS a DEVICE enclose in parenthesis has been disabled int eh corresponding menu.  Is a bracket the same as a parenthesis?

I have Window XP.  My laptop recently crashed, so I had a new HARD disk put in, recovered the data, and reinstalled all the software.  Today I tried to send out an EMAIL (through Outlook) and whenever I tap on "To:" or "CC:", I got a message saying

What's going on?  I can see/edit all the contacts on my address book without problem.  Actually I also have problem with a distribution list.  I can see the contacts in my distribution list, but I can not "add member", the exact same message listed above appears.  I appreciate any light you may GIVE me.I think Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook have a special type of archives for the address book. If you backup these files you must recover with no problem.

But the greatest program launcher I have with all types of interactivity help is Goldmine (a CRM, and from the records I launch every THING).

I am unable to use my sims 2 clean installer.  I even tried to uninstall and REINSTALL it.  I get a pop up window that says this on it: "Application has GENERATED an exception that could not be handled. Process id=0x9f8 (2552), Thread id=0x13e0 (5088).  Click OK to terminate the application. Click CANCEL to debug the application."    Now, I tried clicking on cancel to "debug" the application but nothing happened.  I have windows vista and avg antivirus software.  I tried turning off the firewall and that didn't help EITHER.  What is going on?Sounds to me like a hack which we don't do here...

I've had a previous version of Divx player INSTALLED and it worked fine but after I upgraded to v.7.0 it froze as soon as I OPENED it and that happened every TIME. So I re-installed - same result. Then downloaded several previous versions and the same problem occurred. As soon as I open it "stops responding" and has to be CLOSED. No other error messages. I recently bought a WINDOWS password recovery CD for XP, I have a gateway pc and i have forgot my password to my user name, The CD sais simply pop it in and turn on your pc and it will find your password after searching for it, but it either wont READ the disc or wont boot from it &still goes to the log in page, i even SET it to boot from cd but it still goes to the log in page...

I don't know if this would make a difference but my DAD about 8 years ago did have the hard-drive and cd drive UPGRADED, would that be why?

I installed MOZY FREE Backup software on my computer by following their instructions.
After installation, my computer kept freezing and then I got the Windows Blue Screen of Death!
Basically, MOZY FREE Backup CRASHED my computer.  I could not even do a system restore. I had to restore my computer from scratch.  I am still in the PROCESS of putting back all my programs and FILES, this is very time consuming.

Furthermore, after I BACKED up my files, I could not retrieve them using another computer. It kept telling me that I had to register and install MOZY Backup, it just would not retrieve my previous registration.
I am still not able to retrieve my files.  Luckily, I kept local BACKUPS on some DVD's. MOZY may be free, but there is always a catch.  Please be aware Mozy free backup could crash your computer?
 Maybe that's how they get you; then they tell you have to purchase one of their plans???
FYI:  I have 2GB of RAM and a 2.0 GHz AMD processor and it still CRASHED it!Well i DLoaded and installed on both an XP and a Vista machine and i couldn't reproduce your RESULTS...
It's possible you have other issues with that machine.

I somewhat figured it out, it'll add text to the file only if it is near it. For example, if the VBS file was located in my documents folder then the text file i am adding has to be there as well. Is there anyway to change it so it will add text to a file in a different location. My friends laptop now freezes at the blue Windows XP window. IIt has Windows XP Home Edition and this is on an old Compaq Presario 2500 laptop. It doesn't even get to the logon window and the task bar, task manager now longer work/appear. This has happened after she downloaded some family photos from a cd but was ok prior to this.
I have reset, removed the battery & ac adaptor and reset, safe mode, safe mode with command prompt, but none of this fixes it. What else can I do? I don't know anything about BIOS so if this SOMETHING else I need to look at I would need idiot instructions.
I hope someone can HELP me with this please.

ThanksIt's unclear from your POST if you can get to safe mode. If you can, run a full AV and Malware scan from there and see if that helps. If not, open MSCONFIG and choose "selective startup" (disable everything from loading) and reboot. Does that work?gots da windows xp cd?

Umm , I read that I just gotta uninstall this bullcrap from Add or Remove Programs . After I run the uninstaller for SP3 , it gives me an error that it cannot find a SPECIFIC file to uninstall .

Umm I'm pretty sure everything happened when i installed SP3 . Last time I installed SP3 , gettin rid of Vista and installing XP on my system , it deleted all my files on desktop and all my pictures . >_<

I have downloaded & installed the 'Latest Version' of FastCache on recommendation of Dahlarbear.

However, I have already made 2 desperate attempts to uninstall & re-install this Software only to find its Icon not appearing in the System Tray?

I have enabled its 'Start-up' Entry & could see a "Blank Space" within the System Tray b/w other Icons; indicating FastCache on pointing the mice Cursor!

Iam unable to access the "Configuration Window" as well & the icon within the Installation Directory is sort of 'Naked'. If I try to access the same, it shows up a message::::" Only Single Instance of this application can run".

Please follow-up with the attached sequential screenshots & help me decipher an exact cause of this ISSUE & a resolution for the same!

I searched all the internet (!!!) to find someone who posted the same problem that I have here.
Is the same thing happening here, the blank space, indicating the fastcache icon. In previous versions of fastcache I had no problems. But the curious is that I found a previous version of the program but the problem is happening again!

There is something very similar between the last two posts... Anyone care to guess?

I know that the command prompt should be found in Accessories but it isn't there and I'm positive of that. I tried doing a computer search and didn't find it. I also checked all the other places in my start MENU and it is simply gone. Is there a keystroke I can use? What can I do to find it? What could be the issue? If this is a computer you are using at work or school/college, command prompt may have been disabled by the system admin. You could try Start, Run, cmd.exe.
Well, this is a HOME computer but I just noticed that there's no run command in my start menu either. I do use a disk cleaner that can wipe the start menu shortcuts and whatnot so maybe I messed it up that way but I don't think it would have done this.Very possibly a virus, I suggest you post in the malware section for the experts to advise.
Try this novadl . Cursor in the task bar and right click>click on properties> click start menu tab>click customize> click advanced tab>scroll down to where it says "run command". There should be a check mark in the box next to "run command". If not check that box then click OK, then click apply.

Hi. My wife WOULD like to ADD unlocking mobile phones to her list of computer services. How can i combine them to make one .exe file, allowing both .exe files to run simultaneously when you run it. I know i can make a batch file to automatically open both of them. I just want one .exe file instead of two.I don't think what you're asking for is possible.

What are these two executables?One is a setup.exe and the other is a batch file that i converted to a .exe. I just want to combine them so when the setup file runs the other .exe file runs. The reason i am doing this is because when i try to INSTALL the setup.exe file from a CD on vista it asks for permission and when i run the other .exe file it doesn't even ask for permission it simply doesnt run. I then have to RIGHT click on it and choose run as administrator. Everytime I try to install Photoshop CS3 or 4, my computer fails to accomplish the task. It always fails to install both the Photoshop program and Adobe AIR. It says, "Error 1603," when I try CS4 and simply says, failed to install for CS3. I've heard that it could have something to do with certain programs so I uninstalled everything that wasn't necessary. Then I removed extra space on the hardrive so I have plenty of room. I cleaned the registry and temporary folders with multiple programs and made SURE to remove all Adobe files other than Reader and the Media Player. I restarted the computer. I even used the task manager to shut down any unnecessary tasks before INSTALLING. It still won't work. Can anyone help?

I have very very Bad Eye Site and I use a program called Zoom Text Extra 7.11

When it is turned on I use the ALT Key and the + or -  Keys to make the SCREEN size niger or smaller.

Then I use the Mouse to move left to right and the screen will move  almost as if I am holding a Book and READING it.

And is worked ok for YEARS and still does but  everytime a new Motherboard and Chipset comeout or Video Card  it is a Bigg pain to get it to work right.

And I do but it is just so mutch work.

I wanted to know if there is a FREE program that I can use to make the things on the screen BIGER???

I know I can go into windows Display settings and Custtom settings and but it does not LET me ajust the size of every  thing.
This is why I need a program that can enlarge the screen.

Thank you a LOT Zoomit4 is just like my Zoom Text but one thing.

When I turn it on I can use the Mouse to move across the screen and the screen will move and I can see everything.

But when I want to Click on something with the Mouse I don't see the Mouse Pointer.
And I not useing it right???Hmm... It looks like ZoomIT is meant for presentations, so that draw tool comes up instead of the mouse. Pity... it doesn't look like there's a way to use the mouse while zoomed in. Soory about that  Well what I ment is when I turn Zoomit4 on I can use the Mouse to zoom in and make the screen biger and then I can use the Mouse to move across the screen to diferant spots.
