Hy ! when i am logged in vista i start hearing these sounds like the one in the starting of the computer just the beep like its is sutting down and after some time again one beep like it is turning on is this a problem or something else? Besides that, is the computer running normally? Did this just start happening? Did you recently make any changes to your computer like adding new HARDWARE or software or did you remove something?OVERHEATING possible. Does it happen during heavy use, or it doesn't matter?it seems that nothing happens but still it is happening. i installed WIN vista. now it have two os. it happens only in vista

I have Windows Vista and everything has been working fine. Recently installed MS Office 2007. The day after (yesterday) I tried to access email login pages on the NEt (yahoo and hotmail) and the message "page cannot be displayed" always appears...
Note - had done this since installing OFFICEON the first day... But think I might have accidentally clicked the "Install actualizations and shut down" when turning off the computer.
Any settings that might have been CHANGED that I can easily restore?
Any suggestions?

I have a new HP machine with Vista on it but when I try to create a recovery disk no matter which DVD or CD I put into the drive it tells me it is not a BLANK disk. I TRIED writing to one of the new DVDs I bought and that works FINE with drag and drop BUT the recovery disk utility says none of the new DVDs are blank. I even tried formatting them and still says not blank. I've tried both R and RW cds/dvds.
It happened to me, too.
Since you have only one shot at CREATING them, I called HP, explained the situation, and they sent me a free set.

Hi, I'm new as you can see and I'm having some problems with my computer.  I tried asking on the Microsoft Newsgroups site and it's slow GOING over there because things don't go to the top with new replies...hopefully I can get some help here because I'm really getting frustrated.  I'm going to copy and paste what I posted on the M$ site.

This is the first problem-

Ok so I've been having nothing but problems with my computer. (Yay
Windows!)... The other day I tried to play a video with WMP11 and about 10
seconds into the video a blue screen popped up saying something about a
hardware or software failure...I restarted like it said to and when I
restarted at the log in screen a lil' box popped up that read "The instruct
at "0x77e7ebl" referenced memory at "0x00000001" memory could not be read" I
then had the option to either terminate the program or debug it. I've chosen
both and I get the message every TIME I restart my computer and I get the
blue screen every time I try to play a video.

Videos on Youtube work BTW just nothing from the computer...emailed the
videos to myself and played them on another computer and they worked there.

What I've tried to fix the problem:

1. Uninstall WMP11-still have the problem
2. Re-installed WMP11-still have the problem
3. Tried USING RealPlayer, QuickTime, and VLC (I think that's what it
was)-still have the problem

I'm running XP Pro, SP2, and current on updates. I haven't installed
anything lately and McAfee hasn't found anything. I don't EVEN know where to
go from here so any help would be great! Also I'm not a computer expert,
just your average college student. Thanks in advance!

About a month ago I upgraded my motherboard, videoboard, and RAM. I repaired
Windows rather than doing a clean install. I've since got almost everything
working well on the machine except I'm not seeing my workgroup. I can't see
the printers that are connected to another machine on the workgroup and I
also can't connect to my Xbox360 for steaming media. I can however get on
the internet with it...I am right now actually. So how do I get this
computer to see my workgroup like the rest of my computers can?

As to the workgroup question since you did a repair install you will need to re-create the workgroup from scratch even though it may still appear as healthy...It is XP (SP2).  What will the "sfc/scannow" do?  With re-creating the workgroup do I need to do that on all of the machines or just the one with the problem?  Thanks so much for the reply!

I'm trying to figure out how to add a flash DECOMPILER into the right CONTEXT menu for Vista. I THOUGHT I have the key correct but when I merge it into the registry it doesn't set the command value. If I manually go into the registry and add the = from the key below everything works fine but I need to create a mergeable key so 50 other people on my team can have the functionality work and they're global so manually SETTING the key for all them isn't an option. It is driving me MAD. Can anyone help? I have the key listed below.

Ok here is the run down. A month ago I bought an Acer Aspire 5715Z Laptop. It RUNS Vista Home Premium, has 2Gb ram and 1 160Gb H.D with an Intel Dual Core Pentium processor.

Al was well, but I have found two issues that I think may be linked. If I go to 'YouTube' and watch a video, it uses the Adobe Flash player and works fine. But, if I select the 'Full Screen' mode it will not show the video, instead imagine being very very very zoomed in onto somthing. No shapes, but you can see highlights and colours change on the screen [so it is not simple black or GREY screen with no movement at all]

In windows Media player, if I am streaming content say from BBC News site it wil not show the video full stop unless it is as '50% zoom' so I cannot show 100% or 200% let alone full screen. I can play a DVD fine, and this will play full screen.

So to sum up. Two seperate programs, both that will not show full screen or even with WMP 100% ETC. The big problem is, this has begun only in the last week. All that I have done in this time is: INSTAL but never run Real Player. Download the latest version of Adobe Flash player and Java, together with shockwave player.

Any idea what could cause this? The resolution of panel i have tried changing from high to low without luck. Uninstall Real Player.
Next use this Guide  to uninstall Flash and re-install it.
Re-boot and see if this has cleared things up...

Hey everyone, I am having troubles with my new computer, i don't have hardly any programs in the startup of my computer only anti-virus and default stuff but i have like 70 processes running at once in the task manager and my CPU is like always at 100% and my memory is like always at 1gig. I have windows vista premium installed and i have a 320gig hd, 2gig ram, intel core 2 4300 1.80GHz. I have done virus scans with Trend micro PCillen the professional version and deleted one dangerous cookie, i have defragmented the hard-dirves, done a disc cleanup and the problem still persist, I have recently purchased and installed Battlefield 2 special forces and the most recent patch for it as well and im trying to play it but because my pc is running slow it always lags (i have an alright graphics card forgot what is was something like a G-force 8700). If You guys have any suggestions on what i can do to fix this then please feel free to help me out Thankyou Under task manage try to end some of the programs that you are not using.If you were using Windows XP I would suggest Run -> msconfig to disable unwanted services and applications.  I have only a passing familiarity with Vista, so I don't know if it has a similiar command. Anyone else know? Windows Vista memory footprint is gigantic. So that's not really surprising. If you want some in-depth help try taking a SCREEN shot of your task manager showing all of the tasks and how much cpu and memory they are using and posting it where I can look at it. I'll let you know what's going on.

We've used that in a few places and it almost universally results in the PC going slower than dirt. We've had to disable it and use different anti-spyware tools instead. Check and see if it's turned on in your Trend, if it is then turn it off and see how the SYSTEM runs.You don't have too many startups, but we can trim them down a little bit.

Yes, it's hard to read.
If you use ServiWin, you can copy/print your services in much better readable version.
It'd take a loy of time to go through all your services, so I still recommend, you go back to BlackViper site.
All you have to do is to printout your services, and set them up as listed in "Safe" column at BV site.

I am hoping that someone can help me with a very troubling Boot-up problem that has been occurring for the last few weeks.

When I start up my computer, the initial boot sequence PROCEEDS normally up to the point at which the pale blue  "Welcome" screen appears.

Up until this problem started, the Desktop would load a few seconds after the 'Welcome" screen appeared now however the "Welcome" screen persists for at least 30 seconds, the Vista ring-throbber eventually appears, and then the whole screen goes completely black with the exception that my cursor shows and can be moved with the mouse.

The black screen persists for anything up to several minutes until eventually the Vista ring-throbber re-appears followed by the Task bar which in turn is followed by the whole Desktop a few seconds later.

On two occasions there has been a fleeting error message that appeared in the black screen indicating that " some logon failed"  with SOMETHING, but the screen is so transient that it is gone before I can really make a note of its exact wording.

I should add that once the desktop has loaded, the computer works completely normally. It has not slowed down at all  functions are as they should be.

One other thing that I THINK may be related is the FACT that I am unable to create a new user account on this computer.
To be more specific, I can go through the motions of creating another user account using 'User accounts' in control panel, and when I have created the new account it does appear in the "manage accounts" dialogue box with its icon as it should. But when I restart the computer, the boot sequence is completely unchanged to that which I have described above, specifically I am never given an opportunity to log onto the new user account.
And, more to the point, when I look at my folder tree in Windows explorer, under "Users" the only "Users" that appear are: Default; Public; and my Name.  the user account that I have just created is not listed and naturally has no files ASSIGNED to it.

I am sorry to have been so long-winded but I have been attempting to describe the problem accurately, and I do hope that someone can explain what is happening and more to the point, offer a fix.

I was just checking out my registry and there are entries for programs that have long since been uninstalled,  SYMANTEC, AOL etc.  Can I safely delete these? BTW my OS is Vista.I recommend using a registry cleaner INSTEAD of deleting them manually.

Ok one day im running an automatic scan on windows defender and an error message pops up and says "Windows Defender encountered an error: 0x800106b5. A problem caused this program's SERVICE to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support for how to start a service manually." I restarted and ran the scan again but now everytime i turn on windows defender, the program turns itself off randomly. It also displays the same error message and shuts the program down from time to time when I am scanning. Other times the scan completes successfuly. Is there any WAY to fix windows defender or if not is there another program that I can use in its place?

I messed up while attempting to install a new dvb card. The found new hardware wizard detected the new hardware and I started following the prompts I cannot remember at what point I was at but at one of the screens I accidentally ticked on the message Do Not Show This Again For This Device. The wizard disappeared and I could not finish the install. I tried REMOVING the card and rebooting then reinstalling the card and rebooting but the computer will no longer detect the card and OPEN the wizard. What can I do? I need help.
go to START start menu | Control Panel | System and Maintenance | System | Device Manager
look for a Device with a yellow ! on it, right click on that device and click on Update Driver, or you can click Remove and then reboot.Thanks but I had already checked the device manager and the device installation never got that far. Its not listed at all. Did you try Add Hardware from Control Panel?Yes I did with no luck. I did finally get the new hardware wizard to recognize it though.
I took it out and tried an install on an older computer with XP. The installation was flawless. At this point I new the card was good. so I reinstalled it in the new computer and vista picked it up. I then completed the install. I don't know but I suspect the prior 3 or 4 times that I must not of had a good seat in the pci slot?

I am in the recovery console and I can't ATTRIB or DEL the boot.ini because it does not exist on the root of my DRIVE. When I use bootcfg /rebuild it works fine and I can add to it but can not delete it. When I next boot windows it has the new options I added using bootcfg and the old ones are still there.

Any ideas?

If it's windows XP then are you saying that boot.ini doesn't exist on the C drive when you are in the recovery console?

I don't see that as a problem since you shouldn't be using attrib on the boot.ini. You can edit it with the bootcfg option. What are you trying to do that you can't do with bootcfg?Why are you in the recovery console?

And more RAM will DEFINITELY pay off in the long run, especially once Vista is installed. i do not know does it work or not but i have seen some of the video on you tube that you can define some part of your hard drive to be used as RAM

but befoure you start doing that, which i am gonna tell you how here, get opinion from one of the experts here.(I did in my PC but i feel no difference in performance)

click on system and it will open system properties
now click on Advanced Tab
click Setting BUTTON of performance section
click Advanced tab again
in Virtual Memory section, click change and it will come up with a window and this window is self explainable.

Not sure if this is a vista problem or installing of a vid card wrong but heres the problem...

Recently had to get a new pc, the new pc I got had a mobo with integrated vid card. I uninstalled the drivers for the vid card PUT new vid card in went into bios changed primary vid card to pci-e16 then installed the drivers for the card that got off website.

I've installed two games and havn't been able to get them to work both of them freeze up and stop WORKING before they even get to the main menu of the game (games were Oblivion and Red Orchestra). With the red orchestra game I got two errors to show up one said the display driver nvlddmkm stoped working  the other one brought up a bug log:

I just installed MVPS HOSTS on a friends computer. After a reboot he couldn't connect to the internet, the fan started running VERY NOISY and the computer was extremely slow. I remembered that MVPS HOSTS would cause SVCHOST.EXE to use 100% CPU, so I ended the task. Computer was faster, fan stops spinning and he could connect to the internet. However, he has to be on the computer every day, so I NEED to find a permanent fix. I too am having the same problem.

Both computers are running Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 2.

Both computers running AVG Free Edition 7.5 and are up to DATE. The computer does this at random times. He doesn't have antispyware products because he doesn't believe in them.Update!!

When he turned on his computer there was nothing but a blank screen. He could hear the fan running but nothing else. I think the temperature is too high. I'll get SpeedFan and record the temp.Anyone out there?yes we are around the corner. Wow if the cpu fan stops spining then there is trouble with your CPU it mught melt. I've been using Crap Cleaner for many many years, on my other home computers and I love it.

Having just bought a new Toshiba Vista laptop, I downloaded Crap Cleaner.
My question is: on the "issues" BUTTON, I've got tons and tons of registry files that Crap Cleaner has IDENTIFIED as invalid.
And of course very little info is displayed, so I'm wondering how safe it would be to start deleting some of these files.

Frankly it's amazing how many of these reg files appear, I've not done massive amounts of downloading and then un installing software on this laptop.

I certinaly don't want to DELETE someting that would screw up my laptop, should I start by deleting a few at a time (and backing them up to the desktop) in case they need to be merged back?

It's always a good idea to make backups of the registry whenever you're messing with it, and SAFETY never hurt anyone.

Greetings all.

Microsoft seems to have stopped replying to me, so I wanted to try out my luck here since I've successfully gotten help here in the past.  The issue I'm having is with almost every USB device I plug into my computer after making the move from XP to Vista.  Devices such as USB keyboards, USB mouses, USB microphones, my Zune, my cell phone, all have driver location related problems.

I've dealt with the customer service of many of these products to no avail, and I've tried swapping out devices in the chance that I got SOMETHING defective.  No dice.  And Microsoft stopped replying to me.

When installing the software for things such as USB receivers, the install says I don't have a device plugged in and cannot install the driver.  When I plug the device in the found new hardware wizard does come up so it does recognize it.  However, when attempting to install drivers it fails.  It cannot find anything in preconfigured driver folders, or windows update.  Then it asks for the CD for the device, which I insert and it still fails to locate drivers.  For some devices it points me to windows update, which I download and install.  It's a standalone updater, and when I run it it says it is not applicable to my system.  I run Windows Update and even as of this post it says I am 100% up to date.  I have gone around the new device wizard and downloaded and installed the drivers for some of the devices manually, but it still does not recognize them and brings up the wizard when I plug any of them in.  I've also had the devices SEARCH the drivers folder in system32 in the windows directory with no success.

I'm not sure what kind of information is needed to address the issue so I'll just list some STUFF.  I'm running off an ASUS P4C800 E-DELUXE motherboard.  Intel Pentium 4 processor, not sure that has anything to do with it.  I'm operating Windows Vista Home PREMIUM.  My BIOS is American Megatrends Inc. 1016.001, 2/23/2004.

So I've been having bluescreens for a while now, and its not been bothering me really. But I figured I should resolve them being that I cant risk randomly disconnecting while playing competetive games. So here is the problem.
I've had bluescreens every 5-6 days or so, which I really didnt mind. But today it's happened twice. It's the same BCCode every time, a0000001.

13.07.2014 there was a crash with the error named atikmdag.sys+277ce.
17.07.2014 there was a crash with the errors named atikmdag.sys+277ce and dxgmms1.sys+10127.
17.07.2014 two hours later, there was a crash with the errors atikmdag.sys+277ce and ntoskrnl.exe+6de7c.

The errors are all related to your ati card or driver. If you are using a desktop system go to the ATI website and download the current driver for your display adapter. Completely uninstall the current driver, reboot and install the new driver. You can also check for a bios flash. If you are using a laptop, get the driver from the website of your laptop manufacturer.

Before installing this driver, please ensure you have uninstalled the previous driver using the Add/Remove programs option in the Control Panel and also deleted the installation folder for the previous driver. This folder can be found at the following locations:

I have a DELL Inspiron 1545, following a windows update when i restart my laptop it loads up to the windows sign and then to a black screen with just my cursor.

To load the laptop up I have to turn it off and PERFORM a repair, then restore to a previous point and then the laptop will load up fine.

However, when it then loads up the windows updates are ready again for when i shut down so every time i shut down i am back to square one and have to GO through the whole cycle of restore again.

Any help would be much appreciated. I have also ran test on hard DRIVE and found no problems
My DC Power Jack is broken on my laptop, which means i have to have my laptop always plugged in on charge.  COULD this be a reason? Yes...a local shop can replace the DC jack receptacle for not alot of cabbage...

I am a new Windows7 user. For many years used only XP and many things are new to me.

I have been using Autoit programing for a few years with XP without any issues, but now, after switching to W7 when I try to modify a script Windows7 will not let me save and asks to save to another NAME. The same thing happens if I use say Notepad, but if I run Notepad as administrator then the operation is allowed.

The problem is I can't set Scite text editor to run as administrator by default which would be the solution. I will appreciate very much any suggestions. Attached is a image of the notice.

Hello guys I have a problem.  A couple of days ago my computer WENT to a blue screen for around 5 seconds and then it shut down.  It then showed me when  I turned it on that there was a problem and it gave me options on how to start it.  I chose last known configuration.  Ever since then my network adapter driver has been not working. That means I can't connect to the Internet. When I turn on my WiFi, the computer recognizes it but it says that the settings saved on this computer do not match the requirements of the network.  Even if I use a cable and I directly connect it to the computer, it still does not recognize it. It  is an ASUS computer,  around 7 years old, it does have an anti virus (AVG 2014),   yes there was it was virtual box and Microsoft teredo but my parents told me to uninstall them. And yes I have tried but it still hasn't solved the problem

One person took a Vista thread and TRIED to APPLY Vista fix to 7 unsuccessfully etc. Do you have any restore points you can roll back to and then try the update again to see if you can roll back to a time when it wasnt corrupt?Do you have enough FREE space on your HARD drive to install the update?

I used to frequent this site and provide the help I could and learn from others on here. This problem I'm not sure how to approach.  So as the title says my computer has been starting up by itself. I place the computer into sleep mode it will start back up periodically through the day. At first I thought someone scheduled multiple scheduled tasks to start my computer up as a gag, that was not the case, I've scanned multiple times for virus. I used the scanners that CH lists for scanning a system and CAME up clean multiple times.

Sorry for the wall of text.Why would at the same time as a log-on would a policy change be executed to the VSS.exe? Volume Shadow Service policy changes make no sense during a log-on.Just another reason to NOT use Win power saving features...just sayin.

Wife's HP laptop just QUIT WORKING.  Initially screen went BLANK,  TURNED off computer and now it won't even turn on with battery or AC power supply.  Any SUGGESTIONS.

I have an ACER aspire v3-571G-9435 laptop. I keep it really minimalist and clean. Usually keep all my files on an external HD and really only use the computer to run a few steam games and go on forums

Lately it started having extremely high disk usage when I didn't have anything open/running and sometimes at idle. It would FREEZE until I waited 20-30 minutes later then I could open up counter-strike and play without issues or do anything I asked it to no problem.  It would have high disk usage episodes atleast a few times a day only at times when I'm barely using it or just trying to open chrome.. It never acted up when running steam games

I decided to run chkdsk(not having any knowledge of it). Checked both boxes on prompt so it would check everything. it took 2.5 days to complete while sitting in front of my A/C. Now my comp is basically unusuable. I can get it to boot after 15 minutes but if I was to even right click on steam or anything then it gets stuck. Can't open any program.... When chkdsk finished it went to the login screen and I never got to see any results. But while it was running it was replacing a lot of bad clusters

I start up the computer and it gives me two options repair and normal boot. I've TRIED both, both of them freeze once it says "Starting Windows" all I see is like two different colored balls and then it freezes there. I've also tried BOOTING from the Windows 7 cd but once again it freezes at "Starting Windows". Please help thank you so MUCH!

I am using an ASUS tech K53T with windows 7. I recently moved files in my D and C drive. My computer ran out of power, so I pluged it and when i restarded the system a message in a black LINE user interface showd up. It said:

 "QUKFZ     is missing
Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart"

I restarded the computer many times, but NOTHING happened. I decided to start windows in SAFE mode but then the
"ASUS preload wizrd" message showd up. if I start this process, it will erase everything on my HD.
My questions are:
-What is QUKFZ? it must be really important since its stopping everything from working.
-Most importantly, is there any way of saving my precious files that are on my HD?

Just one DISC or all discs? The easiest way to find out if the DRIVE is working is to insert a BOOTABLE disc in the drive and reboot. Make sure the optical drive is at the top of the boot order in bios. Does the system boot to the disc?

Hi, I have a very specific question. Lately, the 'Start Navigation' SOUND has been playing not only when I open FOLDERS on Windows 7, as usual, but also each time I SAVE a Word document or basically do any kind of file creation/modification TASK (such as changing mp3 id tags, for instance). I know that this is not malware because I keep my antivirus and antimalware programs up to date and I'm the only one with access to this computer.

In fact, and this is the interesting PART, I downloaded Process Monitor and created a new filter that would exclusively monitor programs that used the 'Start Navigation' sound. And what did I find? Well, it's Windows Explorer that's causing that annoying clicking. Specifically, these four operations in this exact order: 'Create File', 'QueryStandardInformationFile', 'QueryBasicInformationFile', and 'CloseFile'. These four operations run through Explorer.EXE each time I create or modify files and save my progress (like I said, with any program, such as saving a .doc file with Word, an mp3 tag with Tag&Rename, etc.), and they unfailingly cause the 'Start Navigation' clicking sound to play.

Anyway, this is different from other posts I've read on these forums because the pattern is very clear, and it's not just some random thing caused by an undesired program. It's Windows Explorer. I don't want to turn the Start Navigation sound off for everything. I'd just like it to revert to the way it was before: just playing when I opened folders with Windows Explorer.

Anyone else having this issue?

How do I keep my WINDOWS file listing the same in all windows?
I found this page here but it starts that I have to open the view window, well in my home version 7 there is no view item on top of the screen, the same in window help, more than 50% of the solutions there I CANT find step one on mij machine.
At the moment I'm reorganising some big collection of photo's, music files, and some more stuf, and I spend more time keeping the diretory layout as I want and need it than I do anything else.
The set I work on now has over 17.000 files over 655 folders, and in a way I have all the time I want, I'm retired, but I dont want to spend it controling an idiotic system.
Maybe not idiotic if one of you can tell me how I can from one spot change the layout of all these 655 folders.
Usualy I want only a listing with the file names, sometimes I want the REST of the information to, like filesize, date of made, change date etc.etc.
I for almost 30 years now with computers, my first one running under C/PM with an 8088 on 4,7 Mhz but this windows 7 is GETTING the better of me.
So if someone knows a solution please let me know.

Today, i was unable to connect to the internet thanks to an error 651 problem. So, as per the instructions widely available, i decided to rename the raspppoe file, i managed to BYPASS the trustedinstaller warning soon afterwards and i renamed it, not before taking a BACKUP of the original file, though.
Since i have been unable to find a good version of the raspppoe file online, i decided to ABANDON the process by replacing the raspppoe_OL file(the renamed one) with the original one's copy. However, the access properties havent reverted BACK to trustedinstaller and apparently, its still in my hands to rename it, if i so want. If this problem does get solved through some other method, will the renaming and replacing of the raspppoe file cause any problems? Please help, and im sorry if my question sounds stupid, i am a noob lol.Did you sign on here as a new User because you didn't like the answers you got on your old account  yesterday ? ?

I am hoping to send a huge 350Mb video file from one stand-alone user to another.

Would it be best to burn the the file to a DVD (is it ISO?) and then email that file, possibly through OneDrive? Would the recipient be ABLE to pick the file up without a problem? Or is there a better WAY?

High1Where does the DVD/ISO come into it?  Just upload the MP4 file to OneDrive (or some other file hosting service) and email them a link to it.I did that LAST night and after 6 hours or so, it was still uploading (so it said). With OneDrive you cannot see the progress MADE.

Trying to learn how to backup drivers for a clean install of Win7 Home Edition onto a new HD for my SIL (see other related threads). I read that all drivers are in 3 file folders which can be found in System32: DriverStore, DRVSTORE and drivers. I found these folders on my PC and copied them onto my external HD for practice. When I tried to paste them back to my C drive, I could not do it because I already had a file folder by the same NAME. PC asked if I wanted to replace existing folder, make a another folder with a different name or abort. I was able to make another folder but could not replace the existing folder. I can work around by renaming the copied folder and pasting it to my C drive. Then I can delete the original folder and rename the copied folder back to the original name. My question is does the folder name mean anything at all in terms of the new install being able to find the driver files?

On a related note, somehow I managed to convert most of the files in my driver file folder to pdf files. I can not open them with Adobe or IE. Maybe I can't open them anyway because they are system files. My question here is does it make any difference that the file folders are now pdf? If it does, how in heck do I change them back to regular file folders.

Edit: Actually, I think I did not convert the driver file folders to pdf. I think I just changed the default program to open them. I changed the default to IE and the icon changed from pdf to IE but I still can not open them probably because they should not be opened. Anyhow, my other questions REMAIN regarding how to copy, save and reinstall these system driver file folders for the clean install of Win 7.Here is a link from Ton's Hardware.
But I have not tried it. In FACT, I doubt it works.

In that thread somebody later explains the premise is wrong.  Drivers are installed, not transferred as if they were auto-installing objects.
No need to ever back up drivers....

To backup drivers is simply saving the downloaded files onto a different storage in case you need to reinstall the driver, operating system or becomes unavailable or not supported.

When reinstalling windows or clean install, all software including drivers need to be reinstalled.
