I have the Instagram App on my PC. In the old version you add a picture you liked to Collections. Folders, if you LIKE of ones you liked and name them. In the new version of the App or in the browser this option does not seem to be there. I am running Win Ten Pro 64.

Has it been removed or have i missed something?

I only use instagram app on my android phone or use the browser -- don't use windows 10 microsoft store app version of instagram if there is one.

I'm interest in WINEVDM project - it allows to run Win16 applications on 64-bit Windows.
It is something like NTVDMx64 but in early phase of development.

NTVDMx64 allows to run DOS applications directly without any specific command.
I want to try the same, maybe it helps community.

When I start Win16 application it reports error (of course).
Error message is:
ERROR_BAD_EXE_FORMAT
193 (0xC1)
%1 is not a VALID Win32 application.

I want to handle if it happens and instead of displaying error message to continue handling it.
For example recall application using WineVDM command.

But how to do it?

Only the 32 bit version of Windows 10 has a 16 bit sub system. For Windows 10 64 bit, you would have to run the application on a supported version of Windows in a virtual machine ...

More detail on the link above. Please, read more carefully what I'm writing.

First:
NTVDM is even part of 32-bit Windows - look into legacy features which is possible to include into Windows without any extra installation.
NTVDMx64 (and I'm using it) is 64-bit version of NTVDM for 64-bit Windows.
NTVDM is ABBREVIATION of NT Virtual DOS Machine.
You need not DOSBox for this. NTVDMx64 is not part of Windows and requires extra installation.
WineVDM is similar but allows to run even Win16 apps. Current version is 0.70.
To make you sure look at https://github.com/otya128/winevdm and try it.

My goal is to make WineVDM able to start Win16 apps directly without otvdm command like NTVDM and NTVDMx64 starts DOS 16-bit apps.
Simply handle error message to avoid showing it and jump to recall application by otvdm command automatically - simply: Handle Win16 application by starting EXE file and after above mentioned error jump to call otvdm command.
Currently WineVDM is not able to correctly to install Win16 apps - it think never will.

Click Jobs, then This Build is Recommended, then Artifacts, and use the current code.

With otvdm, you can simply double-click on a 16-bit application and it will run as it did in 16- or 32-bit Windows. You don't to have or use NTVDMx64 or anything else. And otvdm SUCCESSFULLY installs 16-bit applications, but you have to use the current code.

So, now I have 2 Qs:
1. How is it with compatibility between NTVDMx64 and WineVDM?
In my case it works not together - DOS applications running perfectly, Win16 apps running not. It looks like NTVDMx64 blocks WineVDM.
So, I'm using VMware guest where is NTVDMx64 not installed and use only WineVDM - Win16 apps running - but DOS apps running strictly limited by DOS player.
2. Is enough to select correct DOS Player to run DOS apps perfectly and use only WineVDM? So, don't install NTVDMx64?
Why: NTVDMx64 runs DOS apps even in graphic modes, but WineVDM allows to run only text-based DOS applications (when we are talking not about Win16 apps).

2. I don't understand what you are asking here. Are you referring to the last line of otvdm.ini ("Set application to launch MSDOS programs with")? If so, that sets the program that launches 16-bit DOS programs from 16-bit Windows applications running under otvdm (for example, a word-processor that has a "Go to DOS" or "DOS command" feature). It has absolutely nothing to do with 16-bit DOS programs launched from the Windows command line or NOT from a 16-bit program running under otvdm.

And you can get much better answers by asking your questions at the GitHub page for otvdm. I'm only a user, not a developer. I was using vDOS before NTVDMx64 and my opinion is that it is not enough, of course for my purposes. So it is for anybody good solution.
I know about otvdm.ini config and was asking for DOS player 'cause I had no solution how to get work WineVDM with NTVDMx64 - I wanted to leave NTVDMx64 and use only WineVDM for incompatibility.

But you moved me forward and now can run DOS applications with all features by NTVDMx64 and Win16 applications by WineVDM - btw. "Go to DOS" feature is always handling by NTVDMx64. So, nothing more req'd.

I tested both on real Windows 10.1909 x64 and the same Windows as VMware guest. Both working.

I need to get help for some problems with Linux, and the best way to do that is to go to the specific IRC channel for that. It's called linuxmint-help. But I have problems using IRC. I'll attempt to describe them.

This isn't a Linux Mint issue. It's either an IRC issue or a software issue or a general computer issue.

There's a link on the Linux Mint website that takes you to linuxmint-help. I think the client is called HexChat. That IRC interface doesn't work properly for me. I can't always scroll with it. When I attempt to scroll up to see what somebody said, all the text MOVES, or it gets blocked out by other text covering it. While I'm trying to read things, it moves and other text blocks out what I'm reading. So I try to find the sentence I was reading, but it's gone. I go to the side to scroll to try and get back to where I was reading, but it doesn't work. After some difficulty, after I've managed to read something, I scroll back down to where NEW text has been entered, but it doesn't always scroll down, and other text covers over the new text. Not sure if this makes sense. The point is, it's nearly impossible to read or use. I spend more time fighting with it than dealing with the problem I went there to get help with.

I FOUND an alternative IRC interface called mibbit. Mibbit works fine on the Windows 10 computer I'm on now. I got into the channel and was able to use it. The text didn't go haywire. No scrolling problems. It worked the way it's supposed to.

But that's still no good because I need to use it on the computer which I'm having problems with, so I can cut and paste text out of cmd and TERMINAL to show them, so they can help me with it. There's too much text to write down and retype into this computer and you make spacing mistakes when you do that anyway. That computer uses Windows Vista and Linux Mint. But when I go to mibbit on that PC, it doesn't work. It keeps saying it's loading or something. After half an hour I gave up waiting. I did that in INTERNET Explorer. Then I tried it in Google Chrome. It allowed me to login to the channel in Google Chrome. But when I got the channel, it was empty except for me, which makes no sense. So I looked for another way to access IRC. Found one called Irc2go. It doesn't work. The screen is blank except for a link at the top that says 'smileys'. So I looked for another IRC client. Found KiwiIRC. It's blank. Doesn't work. Found another one, was able to log in, but the chat room was empty, just like the mibbit accessed through Google Chrome. It's the exact same chat room which says, on the Windows 10 PC, it's populated with 219 users right now. On the other computer, it said "1 user" which was probably me. I entered the chat room, said hello, nobody was there. Waited for an hour, no response. The room was still empty. But it's the same chat room that's full on this computer. I'm not imagining things and I wasn't in the wrong chat room. How can this be possible?

Tried several other IRC clients with no success after that.

So on that PC, mibbit doesn't work, HexChat doesn't work properly, and no other IRC clients work either.You can cut and paste between two computers quickly.

Some Linux chat rooms do not require you to use IRC for a simple chat.

I do not have any advance settings on my BIOS.
The ADVANCED TAB is hidden.
I spent over 20 hours looking for how to unlock these settings but failed.

I tried all the options I knew (3xtab + fn) or (press A) but nothing.
I updated the latest BIOS to my IRONMAN_SK motherboard list.

I've been thinking of taking chances and TRYING some suspicious videos, I'm so desperate already.
Believe me, if there was one forum about it, I read it, but I'm still out of results.

I really need these advanced settings but I don't know any way to get to them. I know they are there but they are locked by the manufacturer.

Please help me to cooperate as much as possible, if necessary I will send you pictures of everything you need.

Hello, I have a HP Envy LAPTOP and RECENTLY I was taking the laptop from one room to another not realizing that the battery was loose. The battery fell out and needless to say the program crashed. I PUT the battery back in PROPERLY and plugged it back in. After turning my laptop back on, I noticed that the programs are taking a long time to load. Launching the browser, office or any other app takes forever. And its not IMPROVING. What could be the problem? And what can I do to fix it? Thank you.

I am using Focxit PDF. It lets me print even pages only or odd pages only. And it lets me reverse order. I t will always wrong. The document starts with a cover page for the document. But the next page is 1m not 2. Can you understand what goes on? I am wasting a lot of paper. It is only 10 sheets, but I have already ruined 30 or more sheets.
Please help me. Years ago I know how to do this, Old age has got me. Once you print the odd/even pages you need to arrange the stack properly based on how your printer feeds itself.

Basically you want it so that the first page the printer pulls is going to be the reversed page 1, then the reversed page 3, then the reversed page 5, to print pages 2, 4, and 6 respectively of the document (or vice versa, 2, 4, or 6 reversed for printing 1,3,5). Exactly how you do it might vary based on how the printer feeds, but once you have a stack of paper you should be able to "step through" to determine what the printer will do as long as you know how it feeds paper. I'd suggest printing page 1, then figuring out how you need to orient the page when printing page 2 to get it on the reverse side. Then use that for a guide for how you need to arrange the stack. For example, my printer will take the top page of the stack but it prints on the "bottom" of the page as visible in the tray and it prints it upside down with respect to me looking at the printer. if I was to take a page after printing and put it in the same orientation it was in the stack, the printed page would be face down and upside down, so if I want to print on the reverse I need to put the paper in face up and upside down, so I would have the stack of 1,3,5,etc placed upwards but with the top of the page towards me, then printing the even pages will result in the desired double-sided output.Dictation starts.

As I mentioned, I used to print documents on both sides to say paper and to reduce the amount of things I have to start my shelving. But in reality, a person ACTUALLY pays less money buying more paper than what you need. It is just the principle of the THING, the paper is made to be used on both sides and it seems to be a shame not to do it.

Anyway, I used to know how to do that right. I must have forgotten or else the new printer has me very confused. Here is a method I have now developed to help me figure out what's going on. I take a small stack of paper and using a soft lead pencil I put marks in the upper corner of each page with what I expect to be the page number and the position. So one would expect that the sheets would be odd-numbered on the front side. So that's what I've done and I have created a blank document in a word processor and saved it as a PDF FILE and print it out and then I will compare my notation with what is printed by the document editor.

If you have a cover page, and if the cover page is not numbered, you'll cause a big problem in one of the PDF tools I have . It TURNS out that if you have a cover page that does not have an assigned number two it, the reader tool that I'm using will assign that first page as pages one and two when you try to print it out. But the first page is supposed to be really just a cover page and it should be blank on the backside and it should not have a page number. Does this make any sense to you. It is caused all sorts of confusion to me and a waste of a lot of paper. Once I have the test results from printing out a five blank pages, then I can see the problem of what happens when one of the pages have to be just a cover page and not a numbered page.

I think I will solve this problem by trying the use of different PDF programs, maybe even using the PDF program that comes inside my Internet browser.
So I am going to examine different FREE PDF programs that might allow me to make the right decisions when trying to print a document on a one-sided printer, but use both sides of one sheet of paper. It is going to take me a while to get this figured out and don't be surprised if it takes me a week to answer. Thanks for give me a shove in the right direction.

Just when I'm falling asleep it sounds like a deep train that just hums. I've never heard anything like it. Friends said to check as many COMPUTER user sites I can find. Low Frequency which is what I think your hearing LIKES to travel quite a DISTANCE and it reminds me of when my guitar amp has its 60 hz hum which I have been told by my neighbor he can hear in his house down the hill from my house as it travels through the ground and then his foundation of his home takes the vibration and turns it back into sound, but i dont have this happening constant. Its usually when i am playing on my guitar and then accidentally step on cord and it gets tugged out of the jack and I have to stuff it back in after first making sure the STRINGS of the guitar are at rest. My neighbor DOESNT mind this and it actually was a cool way that he found out that I play guitar as he plays bass himself so it struck a cool lengthy conversation.

My version of Paint defaults to Landscape. I opened an old file RECENTLY that needed to be printed Portrait so I went into Print Setup to change the setting. Clicking on Portrait crashed the program!? I'm guessing that this is a 'feature' of some Windows 10 update in the past few months but I can't find any reference to it on the web...

I like to edit things quickly and MS Paint is my go-to tool. I just now went to edit an image and print it out, and my page orientation defaulted to landscape in Page Setup. I simply clicked on Portrait to change it and the program crashed my edit and reopened blank. It does this every time I try to switch the orientation to Portrait.

My MS Paint version is 1803 (OS Build 17134.407), and I'm also on Windows 10 like the original poster.

I have to upload a passport photo. My photo is 814kb. It has to be converted to a .pdf and shrunk to 300kb in order to upload.

Most photo editors let you reduce the print size of a photo. Also, the file size can reduced by adjustable compression. Try a factor of 12.

If you have MS office installed you can ALWAYS a open a word document. Then insert the image you want in to the document and save it as a pdf.Depending on how your computer is configured, you may be able to find your photo in File Explorer, right click on it, and select Convert Picture to PDF. Your right-click menu will probably also show one or more options to edit the photo, and this would probably give you an option to crop and/or resize your image. If you want to retain an original version of the photo, be sure to rename it when shrinking it so that you still have the original, plus the smaller version of it. You can use PaintDon't need any software. Right-click the picture and hit Print, then you can SET the output size.

Here is a possible answer to the question.
A JPEG picture can be edited by most photo programs, such as Microsoft paint.
The picture can be RESIZED to a suitable number of pixels. Then to convert the program to PDF, you would simply invoke the print command and select the option to print to a PDF file.
If you do not have that option in the print command, you can install a PDF editor that includes that FEATURE. One such is Fox PDF editor. And there are others that also have an option of turning a print output into a PDF file.
And of course, the other easy option would be to open a new PDF document in a PDF editor and then simply insert a JPEG image into the document and adjust the size. This is rather straightforward and should not require any expertise except just basic familiarity with a PDF editor.

The password on a computer can be hacked. MS office 2010 is still being supported until the later part of this year. So if using that run your windows update and it will still have security fixes in place for the office suite.

Depends on what's in the documents of course. As an extra layer of protection you could use the password protect and then encrypt the file itself with some encryption software.

Yeah,some ways to bypass/unlock protection on Word/Excel can be found on Google,but i don't know if it works for 256-AES versions.

A portable computer program can be INSTALLED on a USB thumb drive and used on another computer. Such programs are often FREE and can be either for Windows or Apple computers. (Different versions.)

I couldn't FIND the files I had mentioned, it APPEARS they disappeared into thin air. I went to the Macrium folder and clicked on it again and selected 64 bit (already checked) checked install with windows and PE components. It went to a page that had already provided a license number to register but i skipped it and continued the install. I got a message that Pe could be installed within Macrium. I went to install create USB BOOTABLE rescue medium and it began installing it. My question is (finally ) on my USB drive, it only used 2 GB out of 32. Why did I keep GETTING prompted to use 32 GB flash drives for such a small amount or did it not COPY the full amount. Before you answer this, my C harddrive only has 95 GB used up, could that be the reason for such a small recue disk amount?

I think they are some kind of spammer, a number of new accounts have created similar threads where they respond with only "My issue was solved!" over the past few months.

I recently changed email from POP using a .pst file to Gmail using SMTP. All DATA was migrated from the .pst file to Gmail and that is all fine. Using Gmail online works fine and emails send/receive no problems.
On desktop, Outlook 2019 is used to view the Gmail and send/receive/etc. However, it will take many hours to send emails; i.e. they will sit in the outbox for some hours to send. It can also take many hours to receive an email. Any HELP PLEASE?

My laptop recently died on me after a Windows update and now it won't even turn on. The screen just stays black.

Have you checked in Add/Remove programs for any programs you have loaded since this started. Or anything from NCHsoft or Wonder share.

I am RUNNING AV anti virus program and it is going good and got all viruses so far.

But there is one virus it gets only went I am on the Limited Account.

The AVG program comes up and tells me it got a virus CALLED Undow in WIN system32 forlder.

I could list about 15 (paid and free) that i have used over many years and i now exclusively use his recommendation and have yet to have any issues with it. By the way alternatively to drag and drop you can just open the file location of your music that you want to burn (from the option in the upper part of the program where you can select source). Click on the track and click on "add" from the options of the program. If once you have BURNED the track(s) and you no longer want to keep them on your computer just click on the track to be removed in the open file location above and delete it while you still have the program open. You will be returned to that program window after you have successfully burned your CD. Also by deleting the ones you had (for the burn) in the lower window you can start a new configuration for a new burn without closing and reopening the program again.The only element the program does not provide (if you desire it) is a label creation component. I've been trying help my sister with her laptop but can't seem to find what's wrong.
Eventually I've tried fromating and using windows 7 (prof) insted of windows vista.
But it isn't fixed yet. I have no clue what it could be, maybe a virus, maybe hardware,...
It used to say software error right before it would shut down but lately it doesn't say anything it just randomly shuts itself down. Sometimes it has that problem 4 times a day and sometimes she can work a whole week without having the problem. She backed up her files and copied it back but AVG can't find a thing. I'll try some other ANTI virus softwares but I don't think that's the problem.

JonasIf her OS is 32-bit, I suggest downloading Core Temp and running it to monitor the temperatures of her processor. I think eliminating high temps as a POSSIBLE cause may be a worthwhile troubleshooting step.Hi,

Your log shows some very high temperatures, so that's quite likely causing the erratic shutdowns. Has the laptop fan and cooling vent ever been cleaned of dust with a can of compressed air? If not, it should be done ASAP.

Is the laptop normally placed on a solid surface (a hard surface, not carpet) when being used? Holding a laptop on a person's lap can restrict any air intake that might enter from the bottom and, of course, add to heat from the person's body.

As a test to confirm high temperature is the culprit, you could position a floor fan close to the laptop and have the fan running while the computer is on. If that reduces or stops the abnormal shutdowns, that's a solid clue to the heat problem.

A laptop cooler can also be helpful in controlling laptop temps. You can see some here.

You should also open Task Manager and see whether any running processes are using a high percentage of CPU resources, thereby making the processor work harder and getting hotter than necessary.

Hi, I was just wondering: If I use WINDOWS mail with a hotmail address, will my emails on the internet (hotmail.com) be deleted? Because I really like the idea of having all my emails backed up on the internet incase something goes wrong with my hard drive. With most email accounts setup in Windows Mail (WM), you can set WM to leave messages on the server. I do not know whether this will also work with hotmail since I've never configured a hotmail account to be downloaded to an email client such as Outlook Express or WM. So, I suggest you try it and see.

Rather than leave messages on the server, I would backup my email messages on an external hard drive, CD/DVD, etc. But, that's just my preference.
I may be misunderstanding the problem here but, Windows Mail will not import hotmail etc into the Wm directory. To have all of you email addresses delilered to your pc you NEED to install Window LIVE mail (free). This will ALLOW you to have your POP3 accounts and your web accounts all in the same place.I'm not a Hotmail user but I find references indicating Hotmail can be accessed via Window Mail. This is for a friend of mine who has got microsoft office 2003 installed.
Now to be honest, she does not have the disk, otherwise i would have tryed a reinstall.

Someone had put this on for her, so i don't know if this is some sort of copy, as you would need a licence key etc..., but a licence key has been entered and this is a full version not a trail.

Anyway the problem seems to be with "microsoft word" a "running banner" in the top left of word will keep saying "FINALIZING ISTALLATION" but you can still type a few sentences in before it will automatically shut down, saying microsoft word has encounted a problem and needs to shut down.

All the other programs are fine excel, powerpoint, etc..
Is there anything she could try , or would this need a complete reinstall.

OpenOffice might be a good free alternative for your friend. It will recognize Word's .doc format and can save in that format.

I have a zip file of Online armor++ which i now WISH to install on this computer to replace the 4.8 version of Avast. I have a concern that for one reason or another my installation of Onlinearmor might fail-(just being cautious). If i were to " stop on- access protection" for Avast then do my install of Onlinearmor would that be adequate to prevent a situation of having two virus scanners installed at the same time? Or should i just cross appendage extremeties and hope for success after totally uninstalling Avast? Ever SINCE we've had Outlook 2003, we've had more than ONE profile (for different members of the family). Each time we've GONE into Outlook, it's prompted us to select the required PERSON's profile before going to the relevant Inbox, etc. However, it's now stopped doing this and goes automatically into one particular profile. I've gone into Control Panel \ Mail and checked that ‘Prompt for a profile to be used’ is SELECTED but still it doesn't prompt. Any ideas what else I need to do to get this to work?

I'm having an ODD problem with outgoing email in Outlook 2003.

I just got a new laptop w/XP Pro and loaded the MS Office Standard Suite w/SP1. I also downloaded and installed Office SP3.

I set up Outlook email w/all my POP3 settings and tested the settings in Outlook -- all fine.

Incoming email is no problem. However for some outgoing emails, I get an immediate (and I mean instantaneous) bounce-back message that looks LIKE the following:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Sent:2/5/2010 12:13 PM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

[emailprotected] on 2/5/2010 12:13 PM
None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient.

It problem SEEMS to be SPECIFIC to certain email addresses. Some addresses I send to are fine; others get that instant bounce back. And there seems to be no domain patterns. For example, some gmail addresses work, others don't.

to check to make sure it's not my ISP or settings, I set up Outlook Express w/the same settings and all emails went out flawlessly -- no bounce back issue.

What's CURIOUS is how quickly the emails bounce back. It's not like it's traveling to the recipient, and being processed, and then returned. It's like it's being immediately rejected.

I've uninstalled and re-installed Outlook 2003 and SP3 to no avail. I also did a system restore to an earlier point to see if some software I loaded might be causing a conflict, but the problem persists.
Anyone have any idea what the problem could be?

I use AVG as an Anti-virus program and it automatically adds it's own add-on, called AVG SAFE Search, to any new browsers installed. DISABLING it has stopped the pop-up issue.

As far as the Firefox not wanting to re-open goes, I haven't the slightest idea how to fix that. My hard drive was going bad and I had to have it replaced, so my system was wiped clean. My guess is that not all of the Firefox files were getting uninstalled or maybe my bad hard drive was part of the problem.Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox?Since this keeps coming up (I've seen the same problem in the MozillaZine forum going back to 2005; I suspect that it's a problem that just crops up for no rhyme or reason), here's what fixed it for me:

I've created a slideshow with Windows MOVIE Maker. I would like to put it on a DVD that I can play in my DVD player. How do I do that? I have Nero burning ROM. I have always USED OE, and now need to switch to Outlook. I have somehow managed to import everything twice from OE -- Addresses and MESSAGES. :-[Is there any way i can undo the last import process? I have both Microsoft office 2003 and 2007 installed on my computer. I am trying to use exam practice software to prepare for MOS exams so I need the exam simulation software to open with 2003 but when I activate the software it automatically opens with 2007. I normally have no problems switching between the two versions of Microsoft when I am using the applications independently for day to day tasks. My question is what can I do to make the program open with 2003?

If anyone can help me with this problem I WOULD appreciate it.

Thanks Why can't you just open 2003 and then open the document(s) from within Word?The program I am using is the DDC testing simulation software, so all I can do is to activate the software choose which module I want to practice, in this case it is Excel Core and the practice questions start automatically along with 2007 but I need it to open 2003. Does the DDC testing simulation software have a settings screen where you could specify which version of Office you want it to use?
