I CAME across this article and it piqued my curiosity, with the NSA cracking down on everything. I always thought of Tor as a tool to anonymize a user's internet traffic, until I read the following article:

If Tor is only a tool to help circumvent Firewalls, then why do privacy FREAKS (there articles on Lifehacker all the time about it) post about using it all the time? For example, I have read that if PEOPLE WANTED to access the Silk Road Bitcoin market, they do so using Tor, which masks their IP but not their traffic? So wouldn't they still be susceptible to privacy infiltration? Tor is not only a "tool to circumvent firewalls". However many people seem to use it as such. As the writer you linked to says "Tor is extremely dangerous for the ordinary user. It must be used only for specific, carefully-planned sessions, or you risk exposing sensitive personal data to anyone running an exit node." Recently in a crackdown the FBI claims to be about hunting down pedophiles, half of the onion sites in the TOR network have been compromised, including TORmail. The FBI has also embedded a zero-day Javascript attack against Firefox 17 on Freedom Hosting's server. It appears to install a tracking cookie and a payload that phones home to the FBI when the victim resumes non-TOR browsing. Interesting implications for The Silk Road and the value of Bitcoin stemming from this. The attack relies on two extremely unsafe PRACTICES when using TOR: Enabled Javascript, and using the same browser for TOR and non-TOR browsing. Any users accessing a Freedom Hosting hosted site since 8/2 with javascript enabled are potentially compromised.

Wishing to reinstall my Windows after PC began to RUN very slow, I saved all my files, popped the DVD in and waited to boot it. Nothing happened. The pc just booted the installed operating system and completely ignored the dvd. I then attempted to get into my bios to see why it won't boot. The "Gigabyte Dual UEFI Bios" image popped as usual, I pressed "Del" as usual, but SURPRISE, a black image. The only option was to turn it off.
Then I tried another monitor,same thing.
I took the battery put to reset the bios. Got worse. Just shows me the picture and then black. Can't do anything.
I tried taking and swapping the rams. Still nothing.
Everything runs just fine when the image goes black. LIGHTS and fans running,nothing wrong expect him not wanting to cooperate.
What do I have left to do? Which MBoard is this ? ?
Did you set DVD as 1st boot device ? ?Gigabyte H61M-DS2 or Gigabyte B75M-D3H.
I've completely forgot which I actually chose and can't find the papers I had with the name on it.
And how can I possibly make a setting on a black screen?Try another moniter...does'nt make sense that booting to the BIOS produces a black screen...

I'm using Outlook 2010. In Calendars I have "Calendar - Outlook", "Calendar - archive1" and "Calendar - Archives". How can I make it so I only have ONE calendar archive that houses all of my PAST appointments?

Additional INFO:
-The appointments in "Calendar - archive1" go back to 2010 and earlier, and the items in "Calendar - archives" go back to December, 2012 and earlier.
-I currently use only one calendar in Outlook for all scheduling, "Calendar -iCloud".

Import the full archives back into your MAIN calender and then re-archive it all one shot. Should do the trick.

I just want to ask if someone here knows about a program that would convert my recorded audio (a DOCUMENTARY) into text so that I could print out a copy of it and give to the ones that I'm giving the CD. I'm too lazy to write what I'm saying so maybe a software that would subscribe my audio would be a big HELP. Thanks.Buy Dragon Naturally Speaking and spend hours talking into the tutorials until it gets past the point where you say "I want food" and it replies "dogs walk pigs" - then you may have some SUCCESS with getting a computer to do it for you. You will then have to listen through it while reading the text to find all the mistakes. Seriously, if you need a good laugh and are completely bored, take Microsoft's free voice to text setup, don't do any tutorials and see the rubbish it comes up with.

Moral of the story, you have 3 options:
- Just do it manually
- Pay someone to do it for you
- Become a millionaire by be the one who managed to write a computer programme to do this This is Dragon naturally speaking running on WINDOWS XP. Yes, it does take a fair amount of practice to make the dictation work. And no, it does not work well from pre-recorded audio. You have to learn to speak slowly and very clearly for the computer to understand what you say. It is faster than typing, unless you can type LXXX words a minute. As you can see, it has its own little quirks. When I said the word 80, it decided to use Roman letters instead of just the simple numbers eight and zero. No joke! It really did that. I can average about 50 or 60 words a minute this way, and sometimes peeking up to hundred and 20 words per minute. Still, that is much faster than my typing speed, which is somewhere around 25 to 30 words a minute on good days.
Rather than using Dragon naturally speaking, one could just buy a new computer with Windows 7 professional and get the speech recognition built-in. The Windows 7 professional speech recognition is on a par with Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I have used both.
If you want a manuscript of your DOCUMENT, paying somebody else to transcribe it might be the most practical solution. But if you have lots of time on your hands, you could probably dictated over again by listening to yourself on an earpiece and then repeating the phrases slowly and clearly into a microphone. You would have to have a stop button available on your recorder so you could stop the playback while you repeat the phrase clearly and slowly to make it understandable for the speech recognition engine.
I am speaking from actual experience and this entire post was created using Dragon naturally speaking on my computer.

Everytime someone screenshares with me it ALWAYS cuts the bottom right part of their SCREEN off. I thought it was because of skype but its not only on skype its on other things I have tried to use. The other person screen sharing with me has even changed his resloution to mine and it still cut it off. I have a gateway laptop I use WINDOW 7. I presume you've visited this LINK already and tried reinstalling the software and relevant drivers like your video chip/card.

My son's laptop charges fine when it's in either hibernate or off mode...but when he

What model is it? How old is it? What CHANGES, if any, have been made to the hardware?
Is it the original battery?
And software. Are there any programs that run in the background with high CPU load?
I haven't checked the battery but it is the original battery. It's an Acer Aspire 5552 model. It's a little over two years old. Many batteries do not charge well after two years. This is a common problem.
BTW: That is not just an opinion of mine. Many uses say that about their laptops. Including even some Acer users.

Should you buy a new battery? It is up to you. But if you do, you might consider running the laptop without the battery once the new battery has been tested and fully CHARGED. Some say that can extend the life of the battery. Of scours, you will need to put the battery in from time to time to keep a charge on it.


In short, I don't think there is anything WRONG with your Acer. It is the battery. If you want tips on how to make anew battery LAST longer, search on the key phrase
"extend laptop battery life" and find lots of tips. You will find, among other things, a recent article by Samsung. I think that article is correct. They do not recommend removing the batter. You decide.

Tell him to charge it when it's not in use...Battery issues are common in laptops even if it's only a year old. However, sometimes, it's the fan that causes it.I believe we can safely IGNORE the directly above post.

Whenever I try to burn into a DVD photos taken by me and stored in My Pictures folder on my computer, I find that when I click on "Burn" a small window pops up carrying the message "Data Burning. This rewritable disc contains data. Erase? EJECT -- ERASE -- CANCEL."

I want to add pictures to those already on the DVD but my command is never accepted. The annoying words "EJECT ERASE CANCEL"
are no help at all in my case. I don't want to erase but to ADD.

Can anyone give me step-by-step INSTRUCTIONS please how to solve this problem?

GUZEPPIEssentially both with cd and dvd recordable media there exists an option to "finalize" the disk. Some burning software defaults to this CRITERIA. If the disc is finalized no more data can be added to it in another burning session. So to set the disk up for additional burning the disc must NOT be finalized (kept open). It is common to most burning software that an option to NOT finalize does exist. One needs to be careful however as often when not finalized and additional burnings are done (they will be allowed) the resultant disc will not be able to be read. Thus all the data you put on them will not be accessible. Generally this can be overcome by ensuring that after the final burn is completed the instruction to finalize had been applied PRIOR to the burning session. However as a word of caution i would create one disc using the method i have described. Make sure that all of the burned data remains available in case the disc does not produce the desired result. The aspect of the erase option is only applicable to "RW" type discs. Cancel simply applies to the option to cancel your current operation ( in the event that for whatever reason you decide NOT to go ahead with it). Eject is to cause the disc to be ejected by the dvd burner device.

GUZEPPI aka Joseph aka JoeHave you read my included link? Have you read the instructions (usually called "help") that CAME with and are specific to your burning program. Your help portion of the burning software should contain the ability to insert a search for specific terms such as "finalize". You need to do a bit of reading and research and then come back if you have further questions. Nero Burnlite will have e detailed instructions within the help menu to advise you on how to finalize or not finalize your burning session. It probably defaults to finalize therefore you would have to change that each time you perform a burning operation. If you don't you will never be able to add additional data after the 1st session.truenorthOnce again, my thanks as always. GUZEPPIAs promised, here's the latest about my problem with NERO Burnlite 10. The tech has looked into the matter and advises installation of the latest version which he will do next week.
The unexpected: believe it or not, my two printers, one an inkjet printer and the other a laser printer, broke down suddenly the day before yesterday and I have had to buy a new model which is a 3-in One. I picked it up this morning. It cost me Euro 60 ---a very reasonable price.
Amazing how problems sometimes have a habit of happening all at the same time!

GUZEPPIIt is important to understand that i am NOT opposed to "technicians". They can often be helpful when it comes to solving problems.However often to use their services is to YOUR detriment.One they usually cost money and if they do something that you could have done then your learning and knowledge growth is impeded. The fact that you were trying to use a particular software product (Nero Burnlite) to achieve a specific objective (which the program should certainly be capable of) and you were having some difficulty is not abnormal when doing something initially. However there is no shortcut for gaining experience by doing (other than having someone else do it). I doubt that installing the latest version of Burnrite was necessary. All versions should have contained the ability to finalize or not finalize a burning production. So if you are paying additionally to upgrade the program just to achieve that objective i suspect you may be being taken advantage of. It would appear that Nero Burnlite 10 is a very stripped down version of Nero burning software. It is a free download. It appears to be only capable of burning to disc that can ONLY be played back on a computer. Is that really what you want?truenorth

I see your point about techs. but, you see, at my age (74) it is not easy, indeed, ofen impossible, for me to work out a solution on my own.
I struggle hard for hours to try and solve a problem on my own but this more often than not leads to frustration, particularly because I am no longer young and still not quite at ease with computer navigation. Sometimes I get the feeling that I am wrestling with a new language, as in my time we only used inkpots and blotting paper and had never heard of the word "computer"---or "television", if it comes to that.

I have made a small program of Alarm in VB which create a message window on preset time. In this program when system time gets equal to preset alarm time, a message window appears on the SCREEN if this VB program is active on screen otherwise it blinks in task BAR. I want it to appear on the screen over all programs what so ever these are on screen so that it may get attention immediately.
Please help me.
You NEED to use a "Bring Window to Front" type of instruction. I had to do this in other languages but am not a VB guru to advise other than the link here which should help you. The code at the TOP of the page seems to not work by posts there, but other code snippets hint on other ways to achieve this with success.

I know that window has the tool to manage partitions but it is not FUNCTIONAL enough. are there some good partition management TOOLS? which one is better and why?PERSONALLY, I like to use BootIT NG. Ok got a problem here never seen this before. I have two clients that is saving word documents and the file is saving but it is also making a folder with the same name and it has three files in the folder. The file names are colorschememapping its a xml document, filelist its a xml document and themedata is a Microsoft Office Theme. No CLUE why it is doing this they are both using Word 2007 and saving as the default file type for word. one computer is Win 7 home and one computer is Vista Biz. any ideas or help on this would be great. thanks.

It sounds like they are being saved as .docx files and not .doc files. Those extra files and folders are normal for docx files with images in, or docx files saved as web pages etc. I suggest investigating the affected users Word settings to see what the default save type is, and maybe find out if they are doing Save as... and picking the wrong file type.

Irritation factor: 10.0 --my experience factor: 1.0, novice, but tech savvy--> I have a Dell XPS 16 laptop running Vista 64-bit, with Cyberlink PowerDVD 8.3.1.7501 [BD Live Version with TrueTheater] I can no longer PLAY Blu-rays on my laptop. I don't own very many, recent issues are rentals - which may be part of the problem? Dell, per usual, is useless. I purposely bought the system I did --with the Blu-ray DVD drive so I could watch any media (incl blu rays) at home and on the road. I first experienced trouble when we bought a flat screen HD tv over the holidays and tried to hook up the laptop with an HDMI cord. Now no blu-rays will play at all (regular dvds work fine) In truth I hadnt been very interested in the Blu-ray part til we got our new TV. I thought prob may be the HDMI cord being connected at first (we watch Netflix- no prob) but disconnected HDMI & recently rented blu-rays are no go. I am really angry at the apparent obsolescence built-in to this item I paid a pretty penny to add on to my laptop at purchase. In my on-line research I came across a comment regarding "updating your video hardware drivers" but this follows comments that updates of PowerDVD can cause this! (and I just updated!) My laptop does auto updates, but not sure about the DVD/bluray drive. This is my third time sitting down to TRY & resolve this, and all I seem to find are --"the industry sucks" type commentary--Help!! I need some direction here.I'm FINDING it difficult to separate what the problem is from the rest of your post. Can you just EXPLAIN the exact problem, what led up to it, and EXACTLY what happens when you try to play a blu ray dvd? Did it ever work? Recently I put a PLAYLIST together on Windows Media &AMP; when I tried to burn it I got the following message:

Well, there was no blue icon beside the Playlist, so I have no idea where to go from here. What I did do was delete Windows Media (2 versions) from the Remove/Add list in Control Panel and then I downloaded a new version of Windows Media 11. That didn't help. I still got the same message when I tried to burn my Playlist again. I've never had a problem with Windows Media Player before and I am quite puzzled as to what WOULD cause the problem to begin with, even affecting a brand new download. I have neither deleted nor moved any music files. Wouldn't know how to move them except to drag them into a list to burn.

I was also wondering if any of you out there have had any experience with CDBurnerXP Pro 4.2.4. 1351 and if it was a program comparable to Windows Media Player?

CDBurnerXP is an excellent program for burning music, and data CDs.I got the same error after transferring my music files to another hard drive. I fixed the problem by deleting the library, make sure you only put a dot in the box delete from library only and not the combined one which deletes your music off of your computer. When the library is empty then windows media player asks you if you want to add files and then say yes and navigate to the folder where you keep your files. He's been gone for 3 years...

I have a computer at work that controls the a/c and heating. When I double click the icon on the desktop to open up the program I get an error "RunAsp invalid picture" I googled it but all I FIND is coding errors. Has anybody seen this error message before?It can really help if you give details on the first post.

This error can occur when an old Visual Basic compiled program uses a SYSTEM file to to load an icon and FAILS. It can be caused by Windows Updates. You should contact the software vendor to see if they are still maintaining it, in FACT if your employer has an IT person or department, that is really their job.

Hoping someone could solve my dilemma.
Software/Driver? I've disabled/enabled one at a time the 3 CONTROLLERS I found in the BIOS and the issue persists.
Or, the Power and Reset cables are on the correct pins, but could one or both be upside down? On those 2 cables, white(not black) is the common color so would white be ground?
Along w/ a few upgraded parts, installed 7 to new SSD.
The PC has to be reset after Power On to get it to boot.

How do I COMPILE a table in MS Excel with a timeline?
I work on a farm where we produce and export pineapples. Such pineapple cultivation NEEDS UTMOST accuracy. I have now been asked to design and implement a table which will capture all activities on each plot comprehensively with dates given to each activity. I want to develop a table which will automatically highlight activities as "pending", "completed" and "undone" for which I will use different colors. The challenge i have is that I need Excel to automatically highlight the fields at given times in order for jobs to be carried out on time.

You might FIND a template that can be applied to your needs without a lot of modification. Even if it needs modification, it might be much easier than building something from scratch. excel date functions will help you deal with it then you will finally need to learn CONDITIONAL formatting to change the coloring and other cell properties.

I'm looking for a firewall that is easy on my system as I am running a low performance computer. I have ALREADY tried zone alarm and Pc tools firewall+ and they are a huge burden on my system.

hi everyone.... i just want to ask for assistance.. i have trouble in burning my OS INSTALLER in the CD/DVD... i have a compilation of Windows 7,vista,xp installer, my problem is i cannot burn it as bootable DISK, i completed burning without any error but it will not boot when i try to RESTART my pc and set a priority boot device in a CD/DVD.

I'm using my daughter's laptop which has Windows 7 Home Edition and WORD 2003 loaded on it. In a Word document I selected a word and went to edit>find and checked the box "Highlight all items found in" >Main Document. This feature works great and I could use CTRL + page up/down to find each incident of that word being used. My problem is that I cannot figure out how to TURN the feature off so I can use CTRL + page up/down to actually page up or down one page at a time. I'm stuck showing the highlighted word still. Currently, my only SOLUTION is to close the documet and re-open it. How do I get out of the "find" mode after I'm DONE using it?The Ctrl-Page Up & Ctrl-Page Down key combinations are keyboard shortcuts for "browsing" through the document. What you're browsing for, a page, or Find, or whatever, can be changed by the "Select Browse Object" button. This is at the bottom of the vertical scrollbar. It is a little circle button with an up double arrow above and a down double arrow below.

including Page, Find, Graphic, Comment, etc. Pick one, and then Ctrl-Page Up will move you to the previous item, and Ctrl-Page Down will move you to the next item of whatever type you chose.

What you want is a screen shot program that can identify a REGION by you mouse and do one click. . Otherwise you have to do several CLICKS. Right click for a menu, then select save image, then find a folder, then save it.

hi i have installed wamp 2.2d (64 bits) for windows 7 ultimate. it has succesfully installed but in quick launch when i open the menu window to RESTART ALL SERVICES it doesnt CHANGE its colour from orange to green, MEAN its not in online mode. what should i do to make it online?

I just got a new computer, an hp. I wanted to transfer all my old word documents ONTO it, so I TOOK my old HARD drive, and put it into my new computer. Now all the files are there, but whenever I try to open a word document, it says I don't have permission to do so.

I need some ADVISE on migrating S/W. can anyone recommend a good S/W program. I have used PC Tools and it works great for CLONING and backups from one HDD to another. What I need is a S/W that can transfer S/w from one PC to a DIFFERENT PC regardless of the different hardware spec ( CPU, MB, HDD, etc). Any advise would be great, THANKS. Software can't be TRANSFERRED. It has to be reinstalled.

ThanksMaybe there is server updates or a new patch? CHECK the games site. If not, check to make sure your internet connection is working and that there is not a firewall/AV blocking the game from connecting.

If all else fails, try uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

Firstly apologies if this has been covered elsewhere (I did search) and if I have posted in the wrong place.

At work we are using an Oracle database with Access as the front END. We were all using this with Access 2000 with no problem at all but since some of us have moved to Access 2007 the databse has slowed dramatically. It is READ only in Access.

The only THING I have discovered that didn't happen before in 2000 is the actual fromend .mdb file grows in size whereas this didn't happen with 2000. Does anyone know of anything that could cause this that we could turn off?

I was quite shocked to see that my IMAP emails cant be categorized in Outlook 2007 (the emails dont have the right-click Categorize menu, and it DOESNT SHOW in the toolbar on top.)

Now interestingly, in the Custom View, on selecting Categories, it then shows up and ALLOWS to categorize it. My question is, this looks like an unintentional feature in Outlook so will there be any problems if I continue using this?

I never liked Windows Defender, and I don't think, it catches a lot.
Currently, probably the best tools on the market are Superantispyware, and Malwarebytes.
Not bad: ThreatFire, Spyware Terminator, a-Squared.

I've got a site with 60+ users. Over the PAST two weeks 3 of them have become unable to connect to the exchange server through outlook. Everybody else is fine, but these three guys can't, although they can through Outlook Web mail.

I log them onto different PC's, recreate their accounts, delete their profiles and the problem persists. Basically if I load Outlook it immediately closes saying words to the effect of 'Can't see the Exchange Server'. However I can ask it to look up their user names and it finds them fine, so clearly there is connectivity with the server, just no email downloads. I've renewed all IP setting on the individual MACHINES and can log on as myself and see my mail okay, but these three users can't.

My boss is now giving me grief and TELLING me to completely recreate their profiles. Does anyone have any ideas what else I could try before I take this drastic step, partly 'cos I think that this will keep happening.

Do they have roaming profiles? If so, have them log onto a different workstation (those with known good Outlooks). If the problem persists, it's their roaming profiles. Go with your boss' suggestion and REBUILD them. If the problem doesn't happen, then it's the PCs and has nothing to do with their profiles...

Every time I PUT in a flash drive in any port, the desktop icons align them selves to to left side of the screen, even when I have unticked the align in the arranged toolbar box. Have even tried to "Lock web items on Desktop", but STILL align when a flash drive in plugged in. I have tried a nuber of flash DRIVES and it still happens. Any ideas would be grateful. Alright im running Windows XP and have DSL Internet. Recently moved and got everything hooked up. Im running this computer from a Linksys router but I cant connect to the internet threw Mozilla or World of Warcraft. It lets me browse the internet and such threw IE and even lets me connect to AIM. But otherwise i have no connectivity with any other programs.

I contacted my ISP (AT&T) and they SAID it must be a program on the computer preventing internet access from those programs. I checked my firewalls and havent noticed anything with it. Wondering if anyone might know what my PROBLEM is.

This is a question for FOLKS who are well FAMILIAR with the options we have available.

To avoid problems for prospective viewers of material .... I often wonder what might be regarded as the safest codec choices when DVD ripping and CONVERTING. I find it hard to remember all option DETAILS and don't WANT people to have to scramble to find a suitable codec when playing a file.

Main concerns are choices with .WMV, .MPEG, and MP4 - to achieve pretty much cross-platform reliable compatibility. Sometimes an editing prog employs a default but others give many choices.

So - what are safest choices in other's opinions?

I was wondering if anyone knew of a good screen capture software like Fraps that is freeware, but doesn't kill your performance when recording. Anyone know of anything? I was wanting to use it to record some of the game play in Flatout: Ultimate Carnage for my friend to see. He wants to know if the game is worth GETTING compared to Flatout 1&2.

Anyway, if you know of a screen capture app that doesn't kill performance like Fraps, please tell me. When I run Fraps on my desktop, its like, going back too the 8600M GT in this laptop, uber choppy, and in racing games, chopping = death. Usually a flaming, flipping, crashing, burning, or generally epic death in this game.Does Flatout launch in full screen? Recording software might not work if it is....Flatout can run in full screen or windowed, has a whole insanely long list of resolutions too.

EDIT: Fraps works full screen, just demands too much, its recording at one FPS while the game is running at another, my systems just a budget gaming rig, it can't handle that.I've used TechSmith's Camtasia 5.0 for movie screen scapture and SnagIt for still images. Make sure you're searching all files and folders. By default, Windows XP doesn't search all areas. You have to tell it to in the search dialog.ummmm do you have aol by a chance? Every time i sign off aol, and go into my network settings, aol "unchecks" my firewall.
If you have aol, check your internet firewall before signing on, then after you sign off. Been noticing it alot here lately.

I'm looking for a scripted image GENERATOR.

The generator needs to be able to make the following changes to an image:

• Drop a semi-transparent image in the top left corner as a kind of theme logo;
• PLACE two lines of text, preset in Felix Titling but in differing sizes, in specified places (preferably pixel locations) in the lower RIGHT corner.

I have a MP3 player with 500m capacity and would like a laptop computer with no hard to drive recognize the USB MP3 player. I RAN the software to format and install DOS on the MP3 player, but even setting laptop to boot off the usb device it will not recognize the usb MP3 player. Is there any easy way to accomplish this problem?

JohnI don't think it will work because an MP3 player CONTAINS an seperate OS to make it play songs etc. It's not just a STORAGE device.First of all the laptop needs to be designed to boot to a USB device or this will not work at all...

There's an icon on my desktop that says Backup.bkf

It has a lovely little magic wand on it, but I really know what will happen if I try to open it to examine it. It's the Windows Backup File, and was created about a year and half ago (my computer is about 5 years old and Windows was intalled when I bought it.) If I attempt to delete it, I don't know if I'm deleting the backup or the backup PROGRAM. I don't know what's backed up on it - my files? my Windows software? both?

It takes up 10.4 GB, so if I don't actually need this back up, you can see why I would like it gone - my hard drive has a capacity of 37.2 GB.

I'm pretty clueless on the subject of backing up. Norton 360 says it automatically backs up my files. Windows Service Pack 3 (installed an hour ago) says it backed - something, I don't know what - my files? operating software? both?

Maybe there should be forum folder just DEDICATED to "Should I Delete This?" questions. In the meantime, please tell me, should I delete this?.bkf is a backup file created by the Windows Backup program, if it's not been updated for 18 months it's well out of DATE and you can delete it.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 backs up the files which will be changed when SP.3 is installed.

Norton 360, well I don't know much about that but anything named Norton or Symantec is banned from my system.

Regardless, those backups are sitting on your hard disk drive, think about what you will not be ABLE to replace if the hard drive fails (and they do fail catastrophically) and nothing can be retrieved from it. Critical files backed up on your hard disk should also be backed up on some other media such as cd or dvd disks.

I have both Abode READER 8.1.2 and Abode Reader 9 installed. Shoud I remove the 8.1.2 version and gain space and its security updates and just keep the version 9?I don't think it makes a DIFFERENCE whether you keep it or not. Sure....

Foxit's okay--it seems to have some trouble with certain .pdfs (LIKE if I make a .pdf out of a Visio drawing USING full-blown Acrobat 8, then open the resulting .pdf with Foxit).I've PERSONALLY never seen issues with it...
