My Dell is messed up. When I insert a CD or hook up my digital CAMERA thru the USB port is does not RECOGNIZE the drives. Usually I WOULD insert the disk, right click on start and got to 'Explore'. The CD drive or USB hookup would should up and I'd go to work. But now they aren't showing up. Anyone KNOW how to fix this???Check the Device Manager (Right-click My Computer, Properties, Hardware, Device Manager).

Make sure there are entries in the Device Manager for your CD drive and your USB ports ("Universal Serial Bus controllers"). See if there are any question marks or exclamation points by the CD and USB lines.

Provided you have enough space, VB6 runs quite well on XP.
Even though Microsoft now has VB.NET on the market, VB6 is a great platform for program development.

I do not know if this is a hardware and/or software problem as it involves several issues.

1) On Start up, the computer runs through the usual BIOS, copyright info and finds the CD rom., then I get:
"Floppy disk(s) fail(40)" "Press F1 to continue, DEL to enter setup."

I changed the floppy disk thinking that it was junk - didn't fix the problem. It still gives this error.

2) "Could not detect modem." (I realize that you must be tired of hearing this, but nothing addresses my issue, as you will see)
I purchased a US Robotics 56k Fax Modem (external). It worked fine, then I had to remove it for silly reasons. When I finally convinced the computer's owner that he needed this external modem because they no longer make the one that came with the computer, I reinstalled the modem. Only it doesn't work now. (the modem has been checked with another computer and is operational)
This is what has been happening:
3. After I press F1 to continue (on boot), the computer invariably "finds new hardware" which of course is my external modem (mind you, the modem is already installed and configured). It automatically installs the software for the device.
4. Upon trying to connect to the internet, I get the dreaded: "could not detect modem."
5. Looking at "modem" in the control panel, I see that although I've already installed this modem, it is installed again as: "US Robotics 56k fax modem #2." I look at the properties of the 1st modem, they are there and there are no conflicts. I right click the #2 modem and it says: "Modem properties could not be displayed because the modem info is corrupt. Remove this modem by clicking remove and add it again."
6. I remove the #2 modem and try to connect again. I still get, "cannot detect modem."
7. Device Manager confirms the existence of the modem and that there are no conflicts. Then I get a popup window that says: "Cannot read port name from registry" The modem is assigned COM1.
8. Driver Tab/Driver file details confirms the modem, provider etc., but also shows 15 driver files for this modem.
9. Trying to run diagnostics on the modem I get confirmation that it is trying to communicate with the modem, then I get a popup window: "OpenComm - Port Already Open."

I've uninstalled and reinstalled this modem more times than I can remember. US Robotics hasn't got a clue as to why this is happening, their response has been to uninstall and reinstall the modem.

I am frustrated beyond mentioning since I had this silly thing working on this computer right out of the box, and disconnected it 1 time and upon reconnect...well, you know the rest.
Can ANYONE help me?

Just a quick update.....

Somehow I was able to get the computer to stop reinstalling my already installed modem, however, I am still unable to 'communicate' with the modem and I am still receiving the "cannot read port name from registry" issue.
Since my last post, I have deleted the modem from the system and deleted the modem drivers from the registry and then reinstalled the modem/drivers but to no avail. I am still getting that error message.

As an aside, it is rumored that when one gets this type of error, it may be caused by Rnaap running in the background so it is suggested that one enter the windows task manager, click on Rnaap, and then on end task to solve your problem - it didn't solve my problem

Any help would be appreciated-

Am very computer challenged...and want to make a cd of audio on CASSETTE tapes. I'm using Windows XP, have a new HP Pavilion Media Center Computer that came bundled with Sonic and Creative software programs for copying cds, converting files etc. but there is no provision in either program for converting analog tape audio to a computer file. I need to do this as part of my work. Any suggestions how I can do this. I have a learning difference so I need a way that is clear and easy. Thank you

Good luck!you won't only need good software, but you will need a good cable too (to connect you PC and your audio player), you can buy SUTCH cable in the nearest computer store Some of the BIGGER wave editors are more than you need for simple recording, ESPECIALLY for a beginner. I use an older program called CD Wave. Very simple... Just select the right source in the Windows Mixer before hitting the record BUTTON (when opened the playback controls are displayed, click properties / recording to view the recording controls), adjust the recording level with the slider for that source. The default file quality / format is audio CD quality wave, so no other settings are necessary. The great thing about this program is the simplicity and the speed at which you can split the file into separate CD tracks when you're done recording. I've used some of the fancier recorders / editors, but I always come back to this for recording and splitting.

Oh... and you will of course need a 1/8"" stereo plug to two rca plug or jack adapter cable. If the cable has rca jacks instead of plugs, you can add a standard rca patch cable for a little more length. plug the stereo 1/8" plug into the line-in jack on your computer. This is all assuming you will be using a standard stereo cassette deck with rca jack connections?

You should LOOK at the manual for your stand alone dvd player and see what type of files it will play ...... Most of them will play MPEG files ...... If the files you have are not too large ...... ( less than say 600mb) ....you can burn them onto a cd instead of a dvd ...... The best thing to do would be to GOOGLE free video converters ....... there are LOTS of them . If you ask the same question to say 6 differant people , you will possibly get 6 differant responses ....and all of them will probably work.

I have problem with some recorded DivX films. They are present on DVD+R media and for EXAMPLE 4 DivX films are recorded on ONE DVD. But when I want to watch it (with BS PLAYER, K lite CODEC pack alredy installed) I can watch only one film. Other films is not possible to open. Opening tip is present all the time and nothing happens. Some other film on same DVD is possible to watch normally.

Is there any tool to fix this problem with some divX films on the same DVD? Or maybe some trick?? Because some films on the same DVD I can watch and some not!!?

Where is the wild CHARACTER in Excel?

IE, I want my whole K column to look Sum their A and B columns, for their lines:

K1=A1+B1
K2=A2+B2

etc..

Basically, I don't want to type the same THING in on every line, and want to use a character that will replace the A2,A3,etc to ACurrentrow.

I think you have a colour problem, or lack of colours.
Looking at the 'blue' one in normal size, it appears to be only made up of 8-10 colours?
I think what we are seeing in each 'block' is 4 pixels instead of 1.

You have 1280 horizontal pixels & 1024 vertical pixels.
Your picture starting resolution is 72 pixels/inch.
Do the sums it all works out right.
Open your blue picture to full size & count how many 'blocks' there are to the inch.
You will see it's about 18 blocks to the inch.
I suggest each 'block' is not one pixel, but four pixels.
With more shades or colours each block would show at one quarter of the current size.

Has it always been this way or what happened? i.e. was it fine before you installed the HP printer?I have windows 98 and it is compatible. I have had the program for quite a while but only used it to make cards. Now I want to use it for other things by putting some of my pictures on a sheet and then making a TIC tac toe game. I can bring up the pictures and get the board ready but when I go to print - every time I get this error.

I don't think I know how to download. I know how to go the control panel but don't know how to put the download in a certain place.

The two files you mentioned are essential Windows files, but I suspect the HP software overwrote them incorrectly. You didn't say if the printer was a new addition, but I am guessing that it is.My printer is not new, I have had it a couple of years.

This happened today. When I click on Firefox shortcut it opens TWO browser windows with latest opened pages. I mean two pages are opened simultaneously not blank, but where I closed last time.
Home page is set to Blank Page.
Run CCleaner, Uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.
Win XP SP2 latest updates.Are you using Session Saver (a firefox add on)? If so, it will open to the exact same pages you had open when you closed the browser. You should be able to DISABLE the feature and reset the browser to open to your homepage.It's a girlie setting so you know what you were doing last. lol

Today I noticed a small change to my DESKTOP icons.
Most icons now show, in bottom left corner, a small white box containing a black arrow that is sort of bending to point to the CENTRE of the icon. Everything seems to work ok, but I'm curious as to why this change has occured.

Tweak UI for Windows XP can remove those arrows. Microsoft Powertoys.
Did you repair it from Windows itself?

The danger as I see it in removing the arrow from the shortcut is ...that once it's removed ........ the user may inadvertantly delete a file or folder they may require .

My computer is being stupid. I built this computer about a year ago and i have not
had any problems. Yesterday i was removing programs using the Add/Remove tool in the
Control panel and i think i may have deleted something important and i cant figure
out what it was, or it is a virus. For some reason all my motherboard utilites dont
work anymore like USB, Onboard Sound. Also when i put the disk in to reinstall them
it does not auto run, and when i hit run D: it says to put a disk in, even though
there is already one in there. But the cd drive will READ music cds, but wont play
them BC i dont have a sound driver installed. I haved tried to format c:, but
whenever i do that i get a message in the cmd prompt saying "Format can not run
because the volume is in use by another process. Format may run if the volume is
dismounted first. ALL OPENED HANDLES TO THIS VOLUME WOULD THEN BE INVALID. Would you
like to force a dismount on this volume?" and i hit y and then it says "Cannot lo!

Put it in & reinstall the drivers. tried that but for some reason my comp does not recognize that the disk is in there, but it will recognize other cdroms like the World of Warcraft install disks and music cds. I also does not recognize my HP printer disk when i tried to reinstall the printer driver, b/c that also doesnt work, but i think that is b/c the usb2.0 doesnt work. it is very strange to me that it reads some disks but not others.Sometimes a clean Operating System install is a better way to go.

Recently I PURCHASED a Comstar DVD burner, and have installed it in my COMPUTER. The software the burner CAME with, however, Nero Express 6.6, does not support the .ogm file extension. I have searched the internet for other programs to encode the .ogm FILES but have had minimal luck.
One such was DVDSanta, though it supported my videos, it took several hours to encode four .ogms at a total of about 1GB on the highest resolution. The burning process started only to end in an ERROR,
What would you suggest as superior software that supports this extension, and is perhaps a little quicker to encode?Maybe google will help?

Hi Everyone! I am getting this ERROR message everytime I try to work in my
html editor. It is this:

"Exception EInvalidOp in middle Flash8.ocx at 000839C2. Invalid floating point
operation."

Then when I click on the button the whole html editor shuts down. Very irritating.

There is something wrong with Flash. Delete Flash, then go on the site and re-download and you should be good to go.Not sure what you mean? Delete flash where?

FlameI deleted flash and the other program mentioned and STILL get the original error

When I open frontpage I also get the message:
"The Application failed to initialize properly (oxc0150002) click on OK to

So something is PREVENTING me from using my frontpage and html editor firstpage2000.

Please help with this as I cannot update my webpages or anything until I get

I really hope that there is someone here who has incontered this problem,and knows how to fix it. The last time I tried to burn a CD was just beofe Christmas, and Windows Media Player 10 worked fine. Last evening I went to burn me a copy of some Stevie Ray Vohn songs for my car stereo, and noticed that along the top of the page for the burner, that Windows Media Player had posted a message, saying "No CD, or DVD burner has been decetced." I have no idea what STARTED this, but I started going through Microsoft, and Windows Media Player sites, and I have tried EVERYTHING, and to no avail. I have updated the driver for my CD burner, I have rolled back Windows Media Player, reinstalled version 10, and still nothing. I have Winamp, and was able to burn a CD with it, only it won't play in my car. Am at wits end, and ready to start pulling out what little hair I got left. If no one has had this problem, or knows of a solution, let me know it there is another media player that I can use to burn CDs that will play in my car that isn't going to cost me and arm and a leg. Just one bit of ADVICE. If your burning software allows it, slow down the write speed. If you burn an audio CD at 48X, many (non-PC) CD drives will be unable to read it. It is also a good idea to use high QUALITY recording media. (CD-A standard should play in pretty much anything.)Some cd's are unreadable if they aren't have burned music on them. Some music files are made like that so they can't replay on certain cd's. Try a different cd-r and that may fix your problem. That is what I had to do when I had windows media player. Real One Player is really good with burning cd's if you need to get another player.HI I had a problem just like this.When I went to burn a cd on my program that is used to burn them it said no cd drive found.I found an ARTICLE that said to go into the registry (hit start,run,then type regedit).The article told me to go in and delete the upper and lower filters in all the controlsetcurrent things in your registry.Then reboot your computer.I'm no computer expert by far but i tried everything else and this is the only thing that worked for me ......hope it works for you.

I have just INSTALLED ( and then uninstalled ) a version of AutoCAD 2004.

My problem is that now I cannot get into Outlook, I get a message saying that my valid product key is missing !! and then a BOX appears asking me to enter my 25 digit Certificate of Authenticity, which I do not know ! I have the one that is on my pc but I put that in and it doesn't work and I don't know where to LOOK for another one?

The box is a Microsoft Office SetUp alert box which is fine but then it has a SUB HEADING that says... Microsoft Office XP Professional with Frontpage..... which I found a bit odd as I am running XP Home Edition.

Everything was fine until I installed the AutoCAD, it is a program from work and I trust there is no problem with it.. maybe it has changed some settings somewhere.. I don't know !!

Some viruses also trick you into entering your product key so they can be harvested.

Outside of the initial Microsoft install for their products - Windows OR Office, you should never have to enter them again.

You might think about some spyware/adware/virus scans if you are not doing so.....I have Norton anti-virus & webroot spyware installed.

I still don't know what happened so I have done a system restore back to about an hour before the install and wiped it off.... never to be installed again.Glad you are up and running!

I have tried downloading and installing quite a few different programs, Imesh, limewire, and Kazaa to no avail. Each time I do this I'm able to download the installation software but the installation program never starts up to download and eventually freezes. No messsages come up, no warnings no errors, nothing. I've had Limewire and Kazaa before, they were both unistalled successfully. This first happened when trying to download Imesh about 2 weeks ago. I was able to download the program but the registration window failed to come up fully and eventually froze. I successfully unistalled that program as well. I hadn't messed with a P2P program since Imesh, until tonight. I first tried installing Kazaa again, didn't work, so I thought it might of been the program, so I tried Imesh and Limewire all had similar results. My antivirus is up to date. I tried different variation with firewalls n such to no avail. PLEASE SOMEONE help me out with this one. I've tried as much as I know how to try. My computer is running just fine. All other programs do fine, nothing is sluggish. I'm able to browse the internet just fine. Some help WOULD be awesome. Thanks.

Could you re-write that sentence so that it makes sense? Are you saying that the download was successful but you can't get the program to install, once you've downloaded it? Does the installation procedure appear to start but then stop before completion?

If so, I think you need to try DISABLING your anti-virus software before attempting the installation. You might also need to disable your firewall, but I suggest you disconnect from the Internet before you do that. This is what I do for example:

I go to www.kazaa.com. Click the "Download" button. I window pops up asking me if I want to "run" or "save" this file. In the window it says

Name: Kazaa_setup.exe
Type: Application, 596 KB
From: download.kazaa.com

From this point I can either "save" or "run" it from the website itself. I click save (I've also clicked "run" and gotten the same results) which saves "kazaa_setup" to My Documents. Now that I have it saved I can click on "kazaa_setup" to start the download of "kazaa_setup". Once thats complete, it only takes a few moments, another window pops up that says this

Download Complete

Kazaa setup.exe from download.kazaa.com
Downloaded: 160KB in 2 sec
Download to: C:\Documents and...\kazaa_setup.exe

then gives me the option to click "run", "open FOLDER" or "close"

To download Kazaa to my computer I need to click on "run". This is where it screws up. .....

A window comes up that is part of the Kazaa program it says, "Please Wait....searching for the installer content"

I let that window sit there for a half hour and nothing happens. It eventually freezes up. I've had Kazaa before, gave me no troubles and was successfully uninstalled. I have the same exact problems when trying to download Imesh, and Limewire. I've also been trying to REGISTER my trial version of Microsoft Office 2003 and the program won't fully communicate with whatever server it is its trying to register itself.

I have tried tinkering with my antivirus software, my firewall, everything I can think of.
Its not a Zip file. Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you

Other forums I've used have a two STEP procedure, upon clicking on a button to add the HYPERLINK. The first box asks for the text; the second box, the URL. Another methodolgy used in some forums is to type the text in the forum message panel, then select that text and click on the button for adding a hyperlink. The text then becomes a hyperlink; the URL is invisible, which, of course, is usually the objective when inserting a hyperlink.

How can that done in this forum? For example, if I want to make the word Google a hyperlink, how do I do that? If I type Google, select it, then click on the button for hyperlink, I SIMPLY end up with http://Google, which is worthless.The code is [ url=http://the.url/page ]Page title[ /url ].

OK, I gotcha. So, what we have here is more manual than other sites I mentioned. The hyperlink button here just INSERTS the http:// tags. The user then has to fill in, or copy/paste, the actual URL and the site NAME in the format you demonstrated.

This has been an ongoing problem that sometimes I luck out and can correct somehow. I have a Toshiba Satelite computer and my HP psc2175xi printer has been hooked up to it for at least a year. Often when I shut the printer down, when I turn it back on, it does it's initial few noises, then goes into a repetative CLICKING of something inside it. I can print a document sometimes while it is clicking but whenever it finishes clicking, it gives an error message and won't do anything else like print from the computer. It will often print from the button on the printer though. It was scanning but now it says there is trouble communicating with the scanner.
What I've done already is DISCONNECTED the printer, turned the printer off, turned the computer off,then reinstalled the program for the printer, turned the computer back on, uninstalled the program, and then the printer. I've done all these actions in various order as well, and I've changed usb ports around too.
The first problem I need to work on is what the clicking malfunction is (about 60-100seconds worth) when I initially doesn't work. Any ideas out there?

Can you try installing it on a different computer as a test?Yep, that's not a good sign. Is the ink cartridge firmly seated? Was it replaced just priot to this startting?I don't have any other computers to try it on. Someone just before you said it could be dying??? It prints right when it prints. Its just that it sort of like me, dislexic and loses or tangles its instructions. I did manage to get it to scan by switching it to a different USB port but now it won't print on command. It seems to be one or another but not both. I do remember having this sort of problem before but don't remember how it got fixed.

Perhaps there's a print job in the QUEUE?I couldn't quite tell from your original post, but to reinstall that model you should remove the software through Add/Remove in Control Panel, then reboot the machine. Unplug the printer while rebooting. Now reinstall the software, reboot and then plug the USB cable back in. If i is not done in his sequence problems can arise.

Those all in one models do have problems with needing this done occasionally, sad to say. How old is this printer? Has it had a hard life? Do you have USB 1.1 or 2.0 on your computer? ;DThanks for the advice. I'm not sure what did it but it is working in all functions again. Heaven forbid I have to turn it off again. I just started using MS Outlook 2002 and have 1 inbox with 5 different email accounts. I want email addressed to [emailprotected] to go to the 123 folder in the inbox. I want the [emailprotected] to go to the 456 folder in the inbox.

I TRIED doing this under rules like I did in the past in Outlook Express but I can't SEEM to find the option to do this.

JakePress F1 or go to the MS support pages and research Identities.Go to Tools-->Message Rules-->Mail. In the Message Rules window choose New rule.
When New Mail Rule window opened choose 1.Select the Conditions for Your Rule - which will be Where theTo Line contains people. Automatically blue contains people will appear in the Rule Description window. Click on it and choose the names or complete email addresses. (123,456 or [emailprotected] etc...)
In the second, 2.Select the Actions for your Rule window select Move it to the specified folder and again click on specified folder in the Rule Description window and show the folder under Inbox.

It shouldn't happen if you didn't doubled addresses or accounts for both folders. Check if you have entered one email for two different folders.I see what I did but I am not sure how to fix it. All mail coming to [emailprotected] goes to the 123 folder. I also belong to a group that gets alot of email. I want all that group email to to to that groups folder. Even though it goes to the group folder it go to my 123 folder because it is addressed to [emailprotected]I think I fixed it! Please share the solution with all. Others may have this issue also.

Hi everyone, I hope someone here can help me. About 1 month ago my boss lost all of his calendar data on Outlook 2002. Neither of us know how it happened. Fortunately, he had the data archived on his laptop. I found the pst file and imported it into Outlook, but it didn't import it into the existing calendar. It actually MADE a separate calendar that needs to be selected separately in order to be viewed. I've searched AROUND the internet and found that an import should have basically SYNCED the calendars but this didn't happen in my situation. Does anyone know how I can get the two calendars to merge? THANK you all in advance.

FlameYou can do with this with drag and DROP, provided you're in the right calendar view. It's easiest if you have the Advanced toolbar showing (right-click in toolbar space). There's a drop down list with all the different ways you can view your calendar. Choose events. Select all the events then drag them to the other calendar.

We have a SMALL business P-P network with five machines.

In three of the five, IE6 is exhibiting anomalous behavior (all different). The other two are fine.

1. IE6 HOME page Selector tool disabled. (Netscape & Firefox OK)

2. IE6 Refuses to download any files. (Netscape & Firefox OK)

3. A single website refuses connections to any browser on that machine. Other sites OK. Same site works fine with all browsers on the other machines via same network path.

Have checked and compared every option setting between working and non-working machines and still have the same problem.

We are thinking that reloading IE6 or (undesirably) Windows XP Pro may be the only answer.

Changing the Registry entry does indicate to XP that IE has been uninstalled. However any attampt to reload aborts with error that it detects a newer version and cannot proceed. I am unable to find any information on actually un-installing IE6-SP2

Would he confess anyway. Actually I would have admitted it, if I had overlooked a full Virus and Spyware scan of each of these CPUs.

Spyware was previously scanned for by "Spyware Dr" and now by "MS Antispyware Beta."

Some hyjacked Host Processes were initially found and removed by the MS product. That was prior to my INITIAL posting. There have been none since.

Each system is fully up-to-date and all are scanned nightly by both Norton AV Pro and MS Antispyware Beta.

Still the main question remains unanswered:
Is there a way of REMOVING IE6-SP2 and re-installing it, short of re-installing the Windows XP OS?What about this?

My Boss (who is in AUSTRALIA on a cruise) is using a wireless SERVICE provided by the Boat he is on.
He has Windows XP Pro, and Office XP Pro, he is also using Norton 2005 internet security, He is having a problem with Microsoft Outlook, can recieve e-mail with no problem, however he cannot send e-mail as when he hits Send/Recieve the dialog box says sending 1 of 4 MSGS and then it HANGS, this isn't to strange in itself exept for the fact that there is nothing in his outbox. I have checked his WEB Mail and there is no msgs 'stuck' there, I have also sent a msg from his webmail to my account and I recievedit with no problem. He is not very computer smart, and he does not have the Office disks with him so re-installing is out of the question. Can anyone help me please... I'm desperate.

Its me again. The SCREENSAVER that I downloaded and opened was from Keebler.com. I won it off of their eprize game. I have done virus scans and used the CC Cleaner but nothing has helped the folder still will not open up. This screensaver unzipped out of a Win Zip folder. It is an Windows XP computer and I really would like to GET the display properties to open up again. Any and all suggestions will be of HELP. Thanks. I've tried system restore also back to last month. This happened 2 days AGO. I've also tried opening it in safe mode. Nothing has helped yet.

I installed a screensaver from a zip folder into the screensavers tab (folder), and then it asked me if I wanted to open the screensavers box . I CLICKED on YES. It never opened up and I still cannot get it to open. I have SINCE deleted the new screensaver and still no luck. The display properties tab will not open no matter how much I try. I can't even change my desktop pictures. Help! I unzipped the folder before installing it. What can I do to get the Display Properties to open again? Try safe mode.
There are a lot of nasties GOING around, perhaps you should run some scans.Never install offered screensavers!

WORST PROBLEM EVER!!!

i got a new custom made computer with 64 bit windows edition...

i then installed 3Ds Max 8 which cost me roughly £4,000 ($7,500) i had some small problems so i got this freeware thing called registy cleaner...

i used it and it deleted some 'unwanted files' (unwanted as in files worth more than their whole company!!) i now cannot get into 3Ds Max and i can't uninstall it, reinstall it, or repair it, windows says 'fatal error during installation'...

plz HELP me seeing as i am an animator and i can't do my Job without this, and i don't wanna buy a new computer!

Yesterday I deleted scanner software (hp) from my computer and an old, outdated, no longer in use version of Norton Antivirus.

Today, I cannot print email from Outlook (2000). Does this have anything to do with deleting these 2 programs, or is this just a coincidence?

If I go to the file menu in outlook and CLICK on print, nothing happens. the print button on the toolbar does nothing...nothing is working. I've turned the computer off and back on several times and nothing works.

A couple of emails will print, and I've noticed that it is only the ones that have a Print Preview option in the file menu (when the email is opened). Some emails will have it, some won't. The ones that do NOT have the print preview option also do not offer a choice of printers to print from, wheras the emails that do have the Print Preview option also have a choice of printer.

I have no problems printing from other programs, including work and excel.

Any suggestions?bern.... It's possible that when you were removing the unwanted files , that there may have been something in a shared file that your printer requires .....
I would be inclined to reinstall your printer ...and if that didnt resolve the issue I would CONSIDER using the system restore FEATURE if you are using win2k or newer and set the restore date back to the day before you MADE the CHANGES .....

dl65 System Restore may be difficult to find in W2K.Make sure a printer is selected on the print screen. Make sure it's the right printer as well

Hope this helps you /meWell you better watch out what you are doing casue sometime your dvd will not play what you have copy becasue you have burn it in the wrong format so make show your have burn the DVD or CD to one of these formatt:
MPEG 1/ 2, VCD, SVCD, JPEG, WMA
These are common formatt that dvd will play.
