When I send an email with a photo attached, the receiver gets 102 emails for each one, all as .dat which they can neither read nor see a picture.
I am using XP. I have had the PC for a year and until recently had worked properly.
The only change I made was to add a webcam about three weeks ago. Could this have caused a problem?

Since this problem I have tried attaching the photo, using the ATTACHMENT paper clip. The same thing happens either way.When you send .jpgs do all the recipients experience this, or is it just one particular recipient? I ask because it is possible the problem is not on your end. After ALOT of thought, I have now decided to get the Ati 4870, instead of the Geforce 260. Now, what I need to know is, do I have to uninstall the NVIDIA control panel? Or would it be ok to just leave this installed. Also, what will the new Ati control panel name be, and will this be compatible with windows vista 32bit?

I have never ever had an Ati card before, so I’m very unsure about this card myself. Also, can anyone give me some thoughts on what you think about this card! Thanks!!
Uninstall the OLD Nvidia drivers from Control Panel, then turn off.
Physically install the new card, power up, install the latest ATI drivers.

The ATI software is Catalyst Control Centre.

Hi guys, i have a bit of a problem that i can't seem to find a SOLUTION to - i want to print non adjacent cells in Excel. At the moment I'm trying to highlight a ROW hold down the CTRL key and highlight a column and then set a print area this does work but when i preview the page the row and column are printing on two separate PAGES so i tried adjusting the page setup to fit to one page but the same thing happens. Is there any way around this or what am i doing wrong someone please help me its driving me nuts.

thanks very mucha quick WORKAROUND would be to copy and past the cells next to each other then set that area as the print area.

FBOne technique you can use to resolve this problem is the Hide the column(s) between the non-adjacent columns you want to print. Then, those hidden columns will not be included in your print output.

To hide column(s), right click on the column at top to select the whole column and then select Hide. You can select multiple columns to hide them all at once.

For more detail on hiding and unhiding columns or rows, search Excel's help on hide, or unhide.

I have a new Dell and I am using Vista. I have an older Compaq printer and a Lexmark X125 4-in-one. I have the cd for the Lexmark and I have installed it. It says that it is installed and it is my default printer. When I go to Microsoft to look for updates or drivers, it tells me there are none. On Lexmark website it lists my printer and says it is compatible with everything EXCEPT Vista. WHY? If I have the software and it is installed, why wouldn't it WORK? When I try to print, it just goes into que and doesn't print. When I turn my computer off and then later, back on, it SOMETIMES will print something, but not everything in que. I have the printer connected with a USB connection. Please help, I'm in COLLEGE and NEED to be able to print! Thanks.Not all old HARDWARE will be made to be compatible with new systems.

If the manufactures website states the printer is not compatible with Windows Vista, there isn't much you can do about it.

I was TRYING to delete a pesky spyware program on my laptop and was following instructions to delete the registry keys but I think I must have deleted something I shouldn't have and now (after entering my password) my computer just logs itself right back off after logging on. It is a Dell LATITUDE laptop running XP.Can you STILL get on via Safe Mode?If you can't get into Safe Mode like Carbon suggests, pop the XP cd you GOT with the laptop in and run a recovery.

Ever since I added some new pics from my camera to "My Pictures" I haven't been able to access ANY of the camera pics I have ever uploaded (all that COMES up is the flashlight icon). And now my computer has started to FREEZE when I try to save a pic from the internet. Any advice or help as to how I can access my pictures and save and download new ones again would be much appreciated Try going to mspaint (start --> all programs --> accessories --> paint).
In Paint, go to File --> OPEN and open a picture.

OK - up until about a week ago I could share PICS etc quite happily. Now all that happens is the xfer starts and the pics are blurred - pixellated (spelling?). That is the case for either me SENDING of receiving.

If I try and send of rx a pic without using the photo share - then the xfer starts and fails.

Seems to occur for either my works laptop or home PC - using the same Yahoo account.

Done some more checks.

I can CHAT, see and send webcam etc in Yahoo and all works OK. As soon as I try and use photo share the problem occurrs. I can see the very rough picture but cannot get it to load fully - ie the pixellation occurs.

My works machine through my router etc all seems ok, chat and pics all works as expected.

Attempts to log into Yahoo for email is extremely slow. Cannot see any Yahoo settings that are wrong - but I guess this may be an INTERNAL to Yahoo issue.

Anyone else having any Yahoo related problems ?I don't use it that often but it was miserable on Thursday...haven't been back.
I only use it for my 2 junk-mail accounts...nothing else.

IOBit SmartDefrag has an option to TURN the computer off after defragging.
I suggest running the defrag at night and have it turn off automatically. If scandisk never finishes leave it on overnight...
If that doesn't work travel to the drive manuf. website and DLoad their FREE diagnostics...
Follow the site INSTRUCTIONS on creating a bootable CD.
Boot to the CD and run the long test...that drive may be heading South and you need to find out if you can trust it to your data...

I downloaded Active-X on my Hotmail mail box because it said I may need it to upload pics that I SENT. After downloading this, my computer is running so slow, have a hard time opening up any site. i took apart my mouse to clean it out, but a spring popped out that looks like a spring with TWO wires shooting out at both ends. Never SAW where it came from so i dont know how to put it BACK in. Im pretty sure it has to do with the rolling wheel. any ideas?

How many palces are there in your mouse? Is it too big that you can not "assemble"?

I am unable to control the video settings in Now Playing > Enhancements. I SEE the video settings controls, but when I MOVE the sliders they automatically return to the center position.
Some DVDs are too dark on screen when played in WMP 11, so I want to adjust the brightness.
I have XP Home, SP3, EMACHINES T5026.Leave WM(sorry)P alone.

The VLC help for this is to turn off video overlay.

I've never ADJUSTED my video card and don't want to change the monitor settings for the card because the monitor is perfect.

I'm not so sure about Linux or Unix, but if you compress rget.exe into a .zip file, it can be opened (uncompressed) on any other computer if it has any archiving program installed. (like WinRar, 7-zip, ect...)Also, please don't start a poll when asking a question like this one, especially when the two possible answers are the same.There is no one single way to extract a file in any operating system, they all have a different executable PLATFORM, thus, an executable will only work on one operating system.

Most common operating systems will open .ZIP files. Windows ME and up in Windows open ZIP fine WITHOUT needing to install extra software, Mac OS 8.6 and Up have the same story (You need to FIND Alladin, a program that manages ZIP files) and most newer Linux distributions support ZIP as well.

See, there is no one single program that will manage compressed files on every operating system, THATS impossible. All operating systems use their own executable platform, meaning a Linux EXE wont open in Windows, and Mac EXE wont open in Linux, and a huge circle of combinations of what will and wont work in an OS follows that... i have heard that UPX is a software that support multi executables. i dont

know much about UPX and dont know how to use it but check that one

Do you have a CD Burner? What software are you using to burn?
Is your CD Burner drive the one that your computer is asking you to put a disc into? Do you have more than one drive or burner? ALSO, Windows 2000 Pro does not have any built-in CD writing abilities. You'll need XP or higher for that.

For 2000, it's either a 3rd party program or nothing.

I have a lot of Video files that are about 2 GB a and 1 GB but I have a fue of them.

Can I have CD Burner XP make the Data disk but when one disk is full it will ask me for another disk and keep going?

I've got a spreadsheet I use for budgeting and mostly it works well. The only problem I have is where the is a negative number next to a positive, it adds them, instead of subtracting the positive from the negative.

Let me explain a bit more. Cell B7 SHOW 1.29, Cell C7 shows -98.10. Now instead of D7 showing -96.81, it shows -99.39.

It's subtracting, but in this instance it should add, so I need to modify my string to include this instance.

Help, anyone?Instead of using cells A1 and B1 in your description, it would have been helpful if you had stated the cells that would work with your formula. I believe that would be B7 and C7, right? Is one of those columns budget and one actual activity? Which is which?

Have tried approaching this from a different angle? Perhaps you don't need such a complicated formula. What if you simply had a column showing the difference and then used Conditional Formatting to, for example, display over-budget cases in red?

It would have been helpful, but you figured it out I was just trying to illustrate what I wanted it to do. While you're right in that I could have an easier formula, this is what my spreadsheet was loaded with, and it's the only bit of it that doesn't work juts how I'd like it. If it's too complicated, I'll leave it, it doesn't make that much difference, since it's very rare C7 shows a negative number, I'm being finicky.

B7 is actual and C7 is budget.

It does the 'over budget' 'under budget' part fine, it just doesn't CALCULATE the FIGURE properly when budget shows a deficit and actual shows a positive.So, B7 is $1.29 and C7 is -$98.10, right? Why do have a negative number in the Budget column, or either column for that matter? That makes no sense. If I remove the minus sign and only use positive numbers, the formula seems to work correctly, whether B7 > C7 or VICE versa.Sorry, my first post was completely ill thought out, I've edited it to make more sense.

Does it help to know that B7=B5-B6 and C7=C5-C6

B5 is actual total income, B6 is actual total expenses, which themselves are made up of a sum of other cells, but these parts work fine.

B5 is budgeted total income, B6 is budgeted total expenses, same as the above.

Now, this month for example, I have more budgeted expenses, than budgeted income.

But, so far as my sheets been used through the month I don't have a deficit in actual income and expenses. Does that help some more? Can I upload my sheet somehow?Shameless Bump Quote

I had prog CALLED Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0, I've now upgraded PC to Vista and this app is not supported.

The feature that I need is to simply create a PDF slideshow (with still pics) and EMBED MUSIC MP3 file. Is this simple functionality AVAILABLE in Elements 7.0, it really is not clear from the Adobe web site.

I've tried Photoshop Album 3.2 starter edition and unfortunaly adding Audio MP3 to a PDF slideshow is now not avail.

I've NEVER heard of makedepend before but when i searched sourceforge it CAME up with the makedepend binary, and when i clicked summary it TOOK me to syllable. I do a bit of consultancy work for a small company who have asked me to give them the ability to remotely access their desktops from home. They used to have LogMeIn which worked very well. However, an employee they dismissed had their login details etc. I've changed their passwords etc but the boss insists he doesn't want LogMeIn any more. Currently we're trying BeAnywhere, however this runs very sluggish and I cannot see a full DESKTOP and I have to scroll up and down to MOVE around the desktop (even on full screen mode).

My question is, can someone please recommend a remote access program (preferably free or very cheap) as good as LogMeIn (and as simple to setup and use).

We use Logmein and a variety of TOOLS to support our customers. The volume of customers that we have has MEANT that we continue to use the Logmein app, however, should I have my time again I would've plumped for Teamviewer as this application allows the user to initiate the connection and removes any doubt in the customers mind about whom is accessing their network.

This program has been working fine for me ever since I started using it (4 months or so). I made a MINOR change yesterday, and all of a sudden it won't save or upload anymore. Everytime I try to do either, I get a microsoft error message:

"VISUAL Site Designer Application has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are SORRY for the inconvenience." Then you can send or not send the error report.

After I click on ONE of those, I get the following error:

"The instruction at "0x73dd11c7" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

After I click OK, I get this:

Error running C:Progam Files\CoffeeCup Software/CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer/vsd.exe : child killed: SEGMENTATION violation. The application will exit now.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

When ever I try to open the calculator through sart > programs> accessories it is always absent there means someone has erased it from computer . How to retreive it back? please TELL me a.s.a.p.First of all it can be accessed by typing calc at start -> run

Second it can be ADDED back in to the profiles program files -> accessories by DROPPING a shortcut to the calc.exe into the accessories folder

*** If you type calc at start/run and it does not start, you will have to go to ADD/remove windows components and add it back there in a checkmark option... you will see mspaint and other programs in there as well

If the POINTER is just missing in start -> Programs -> accessories than it can be added back as a shortcut to the folder.

I do not have Japanese language support on my computer, so therefore anything in the Japanese language I download is being encrpyted or whatever, and therefore unreadable.

Does any kind person know how I can overcome this problem, so it comes down as it is written, and then I can translate it.

Thanks for your reply. My computer was built in England, by a shop that built computers in their back workshop for individual people. I have Windows XP SERVICE pack 2, so I presume it is an English version.

I am a complete newbie with regards to computers, so I do not have a clue how to find "language options in Windows"
