I have a 40Gb PORTABLE HDD with necessary software’s in it , problem  is every TIME I connect it to various computers , there is always a risk of getting infected ( that means again I have to format and reload the software’s at home )
Is there any solution where data TRANSFER is one way , that means chances of getting infected is NILL, same time, I also have the CONTROL – copy to my  portable HDD if I want to …….

However to the best of my knowledge the only way to achieve nasties protection on a "foreign" computer is if that computer has the software protection (with all the great multitudes of negative possibilities that that also entails--like update and quality status of that protection on the "foreign" computer). There must be an associated primary HDD (which your portable isn't) and the primary drive must contain the anti virus,etc program. You can only assure some protection if when you return the portable to your computer you run the scans.However as you undoubtedly are aware that COULD be too late. Wish i could advise otherwise.truenorthThere does need to be some two way communication, else the computer into which you plug the portable drive won't recognize it.

God, I've had the afternoon from *censored* trying to do a simple task of installing a new HP Deskjet Printer. Just plug n play, insert installation disk, and bobs your uncle. I don't think so! Nevermind, have finally got it working.
Right, l USE two CLEANERS, CCleaner and Easycleaner by Toniarts. Both are good and each picks up on different things. Have been using them for ages.
Now all of a sudden, since installing the cra**y HP software, Easycleaner comes up saying l have lots of .tmp files in System32\Catroot, and when l try and delete them, both the program and the whole system locks solid.
Have also done a search on all these .tmp files and when l try and delete them, it says Access Denied, file in use?
First of all, in greengrocer language, what is the Catroot Directory, and how can l delete these .tmp files?

PS. I haven't tried safemode yet as l'm a bit reluctant to without knowing what the directory does, and why would .tmp files have access denied?
 

that is because it is a system folder, all updates are stored in Catroot2Thanks IRELAND, but that doesn't explain anything to me really!
These .tmp files have just appeared for the first time since l installed the HP printer.
What is the Catroot (or Catroot2) file then. Aren't tmp files made for deleting?

Anyway, I digress.

Give this a try.  It's a boot disk with some utilities that you can use to delete the entire catroot directory.  It's safe to delete as it is only used by Windows Update, and will be recreated the next time you run the update.Why do you need to get rid of .cat files ? ?Thanks Quantos and Patio.
Patio, the reason l want rid is that these have only just started to appear after installing the HP printer software (this'll be another post!). When l run EasyCleaner, it flags them as unwanted files (.tmp) and when l try and delete them, the complete system locks out.Just an update. All my problems started when l changed my Lexmark printer for an HP all in one. Couldn't remove Lexmark, had problems with the Spooler.exe, and when l finally got the HP to work all these strange things started to happen which they never did before. Task Manager also showed both HP and Lex processes running.
Found a great utility that has now stopped all Lexmark activity for good and when l now run EasyCleaner, these .tmp files no longer show up and Easycleaner now works as it used to.
Coincidence, I dunno but the problem seems to have disappeared for now anyway. Until the next time ??

I have a template that must be protected, with "Fill in Forms" permitted.  It is usually a single PAGE but on occasion must be 2 or 3 pages.
Each page must be identical to the first, including form entry fields.
I have a macro that copies the page, inserts a page break, then pastes the page on the newly CREATED 2nd page.  I have a toolbar button ATTACHED to the template that works perfectly.
It works faultlessly when the template is unprotected.  It does not work at all when the document is protected.
Setting Formatting Restrictions to permit Macro Text has no effect.
How do I protect this template and still have the macro run when REQUIRED?

Can you modify the Macro so that it unprotects the document, runs the main part of the macro, and then re-protects the document?  I don't know whether that can be done within a macro, just a thought.I gave it a try and it wouldn't let me do it.  It may be lack of skill on my part, or that's something that you can't do.

Basically it depends on what kind editing are looking for. If just simply creating a simple movie, you can use Windows Movie maker. And also making sure that your computer meets the requirements of these editing softwares.

Hello everyone,

I have an ASF file on my computer with a little problem. This file was captured by a security camera at the store I own. Unfortunately, although the camera usually works very well, the file seems to be missing some pieces; normally, when I playback the files, there is the video and sound, obviously. However, this one only seems to have the sound... the video is all black or green or gray.

I did just that, and there is absolutely nothing in the way of the lens. The fact is, I need the file that has already been saved to the SD card... I have it, the video that I need is the problem THOUGH, as stated in my other post.

I have tried to CREATE dll's for symbian through mmp files. and facing some ISSUE can someone plaese help me out.

I have 3 .mmp files : a.mmp, b.mmp and all.mmp

now the question , can i do something like call a.mmp and b.mmp in all.mmp and BUILD it from that mmp only and make only one all.dll for all CODE?

OK with the help of the FINE people on this site I increased my ram to 2g I got rid of diskeeper lite and went to auslogics, with no more errors lol, I turned of MS and use Comodo and a few other THINGS but LETS keep this short you get the idea.

Against my better judgement, took the plunge this evening and installed IE8, and it actually downloaded and worked ok!
No real problems so far, it seems a bit slower to load than IE7, and it deleted the "link" folder from my favourites, but hey ho!
What's that envelope icon on the toolbar l thought? Pressed it and whoosh, all my emails that l view using my ISP have now been transferred to Outlook Express.
Now it's ok for all of you out there, (call me old fashioned), but l've never used OE in my life, although it's installed on my PC. l've just viewed / sent emails via my ISP which is what l have been used to.
However, OE looks quite good and the printng of an email is so much easier, albeit that it says l have 270 emails in my inbox which will take me a good few hours to ponder over.
Right then, emails are sent to my ISP (France Telecom - Orange) and FT have their own built in virus detection and blacklist detection (free) so l do not receive any junk mail.
It is an amazing bit of kit and really works, as l have not received junk mail for NEARLY a year now!
Now with this OE thingy, it pulls all of my mail from my ISP. So will these be covered (by my ISP from viruses before they are "pulled" by OE), or do l need something else in between the starting up of OE and the "pulling" of my emails to check for viruses?
Does this make sense and can you see what l am getting at?

The bad news is you haven't answered my question at all!
The only thing that l can agree upon, which l'm sorry l forgot about, is that OE doesn't technically exist in IE8. However, my icon says OE, it works, so that is what l am sticking with.

l think l'll also stick with IE8 for the time being to at least give it a chance.

:(I seem to have BOTH versions of Microsoft Office showing up in my PROGRAM FILES library, although when I start any Office application, it says it's the Office 2003 version.
That being said, both versions were INSTALLED by COPIED CD's, and NEITHER show up on the ADD/REMOVE list in the CONTROL PANEL, should I wish to remove one version {the 2000 one}.
And there doesn't appear to be an UNINSTALL exe, nor an UNINSTALL option on either 2000 {or 2003!} for me to do this.
For years, Office UPDATE always looked after fixes, versions, etc., but lately, I cannot download fixes to Outlook 2003 and Excel 2003, and am now 4 'repairs' behind. Secunia calls them THREATS when it scans my pc, so I'd LIKE to remove BOTH versions and reinstall Office 2003 {I have a zipped file of this, which I'd use, plus the copied cd, if I really need it}.

I did get a suggestion to use OpenOffice from another forum I use, but I really like Outlook 2003 for email, and use it for calendaring/contacts/'my life!'/etc!.
I really don't want to start learning/using another office system at this time, unless I HAVE to, if unresolved security threats increase.

Found one forum for this, but it was a year old. Just wondering if anyone knows of a extension for a .SIG file created with broderbund. I have the disc that it was saved on, but nothing to open it with. Working with windows xp.It's an image format used for signs and POSTERS created with Broderbund graphics software, such as PrintMaster and The Print Shop; can be opened with the program that created the file and POSSIBLY with other Broderbund programs or versions, but COMPATIBILITY is not guaranteed.I did a quick search, and couldn't FIND anything else to open those kind of files.  There may be some sort of converter out there, but I didn't find it. When I first got this computer and turned it on outlook express popped up, I closed it and then it popped up again, and it kept POPPING up constantly.  Then it stops and an hour goes by and it doesn't pop up. Then all of a sudden it goes off again. I tried to figure it out:  options, tools, internet options unchecked any boxes that i thought might be causing the problem, Google it to and still nothing. so I just decided to live with it. Okay so now i get At&t DSL and Yahoo becomes my default mail so now I'm getting constant browser windows popping up with yahoo mail i mean I'm getting like 20 windows popping up, sometimes they pop up slow and can close them down, then sometimes it's so fast i got 27 windows up at one time. Sometimes and hour goes by and nothing. *censored* is this. I have scanned, scanned and rescanned with all kinds of spy ware detectors and anti viruses, REGISTRY fix and have had problems and fixed them but it has not fixed this. Why is this happening.  Can anyone help??? I don't think this is a virus and I can't be the only one who has had this problem!!! If you can DOWNLOAD and install Malwarebytes for free as well as get AVG Free Antivirus if the malware or virus's dont block you from doing this. Many virus's will protect themselves from DELETION by blocking programs that can delete them.

Is anyone else having any problems with Adobe Flash Player v10?  I installed it on both by desktop running Vista and my laptop running Windows XP and both are showing the same problem, that of not streaming videos properly.

When TRYING to view a video from the web, flash player will play for 2 or 3 seconds and then stop.  Sometimes it may stop for 5 to 10 seconds, then play another 2 or 3 seconds of video.  Other times it seems to be trying to stream the video but NOTHING happens after the initial 2 or 3 seconds. 

Because I am having the same problem with both computers, I was wondering if there was a problem with Adobe Flash Player v10 or not.  The only other THING I could THINK of is both computers are using a wireless connection to DSL access to the internet, and I am not certain if this WOULD cause the problem I am experiencing.Vista has inherent issues with adobe.Was flash streaming working properly before you started using v10?
I do recall that Flash Player 10 did have some issues when 1st released, perhaps try installing the latest version, if you already have then try going down to v9.

I had that issue once and that was my fix for it until a newer version of flash player with the proper fixes was released.Are the video's buffering whilst you are playing? Like on youtube?

I have the same problem as jensobri with copies of deleted files/photos appearing,  especially in My Pictures.  The blog didn't offer any help.  Does anyone know what to do about this?  Please and thank you.  I got this info from a friend.  Tried it and it works!

What's ACTUALLY happening is that when you "delete" a file, the file is actually MOVED to the Recycle Bin folder.
 
That's done so you can un-delete a file you deleted by mistake.
 
If you open the Recycle Bin, select one or more files that are in the bin, and press the Delete key, those files will be permanently deleted.
 
You can completely  EMPTY the recycle bin at any time.  EITHER open it and then choose Empty Recycle Bin from the File menu, or just right click on the Recycle Bin ICON and choose Empty Recycle Bin from the pop-up menu that appears.
 
 
To delete a file and bypass sending it to the Recycle Bin, you can use either of two methods:
 
1. Select the file(s) to delete.  Hold down the SHIFT key while pressing the Delete key.  A popup window will ask you to confirm the delete.
 
2. Right click on the selected file(s).  Hold down the shift key while click the Delete OPTION from the popup menu that appears.    A popup window will ask you to confirm the delete.
 
Once you OK the delete, the selected files will be completely deleted.

My microsoft outlook (2007) won't open on my log on window.  I get the following message: "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window"
I've tried using the scanpst.exe repair file but it still doesn't open.  The funny thing is that my husband can open his outlook with no problem on his log on but when I log on I get an error.  Can anyone help me please?

Suddenly without me installing anything new, all of my .mkv files have stopped playing properly. With Zoom player and Media Player Classic, the video moves slower than usual while the audio moves at the proper SPEED and with VLC media player, the video freezes up completely. All other file FORMATS that I've tried playing since this happened continue to WORK perfectly fine with all three players. I have already tried REINSTALLING my Combined Community Codec Pack but it didn't make a difference.

I'm currently running Windows Vista on an HP Pavilion dv9700 notebook with:
3 GB RAM
AMD Turion 2 GHz Dual Core Processor
NVIDIA GeForce 7150M Graphics Card

Any ideas on solutions would appreciated.

First, I would LIKE to say thank you very much to Tenebrous for telling me about this DownThemAll. Even though I'm running into some problems with it, which that is why I'm here, it LOOKS like it will be a lifesaver on backing up my sites since right clicking on each file just causes me even more pain in my WRISTS and arms than I already am in.

Anyways, the problem I'm running into is some of the files it says it already exists and the files it says already exists are not even files I'm TRYING to backup in the first place like login.htm is one of them and it asks what I want to do with the file.

I am running vista ultimate but I cannot create a system back up.  When I try using the back up and restore centre,  I get the message  "The back up application could not start due to an internal error. It's easier to just back up your SETTINGS, documents, and data.  Reinstall the OS from scratch, that way you get an optimized system when you recover.

  There are some files that won't back up properly.  Nobody backs up the OS.  when the back up creates a new restore point I get a message that says "A complete back up of this computer has not yet been made. It is recommended that a complete back up is created"
That is why I have been trying to do it, but it will not work.

 No, it's not important, just back up the stuff that you add, like photos, videos, saved game files, music.....

I might recommend that you download and store the service packs from MS, and any utilities and software that you download, that way you don't have to go looking for them later.

I done a system recovery a couple of weeks ago. I have a DSL connection. I might have checked something WRONG when it was asking about how I get on the internet. I have no problem getting online,but often that message will pop up! I usually click"Cancel"and it goes away. If I don't click on it,it will say"Try again the line was busy". I'm still online at the time. It's an annoyance more than anything! Is there some way that I can change the setting without having to do another system recovery? Thanks for your help..

That screen usually comes up when you are trying to connect to the internet via a dial up modem. Chances are you have set the configuration incorrectly.

Go to Control panel.. Internet options ... connections ... there will be a box comes up, it may have a previous modem listed or checked. You can adjust your settings and/or delete your modem here.

I used IE,and I finally was able to TRANSFER the videos to Skydrive. I went on and deleted the videos on Photobucket since I transferred them to Skydrive. I tried to open one of the files,but the Photobucket page appears. The video doesn't show because I ALREADY deleted them from Photobucket!

I saved the same videos onto my USB drive though. I tried to open one from my USB drive but the same thing happened. I feel like giving up with this,but I really don't want it to get the best of me.  Were you choosing Save Target As or possibly Copy Shortcut?

If you were using either of the first choices you only saved a link to the files, and not the files themselves.

Take a look at the files that you saved and see if they have a .htm file extension.When I set the curser over the file,it reads"Type:HTML Document.

The files that I transferred to Skydrive are deleted from Photobucket already. That shouldn't have anything to do with it,right? You're the only person that has ever helped me with a question this long. Most PEOPLE would have given up by now!
Then you weren't saving the files, only a shortcut to them.  If you don't have those files stored somewhere else they are gone.

one video he has on the pc, he tried playing with windows media player, it appears to play fine except the video is upside down and I don't know how to fix it. He says he installed K-Lite codec pack on the machine and has tested with the media player classic.

Windows XP SP3 - CD/DVD Drive - TSSTcorp CD/DVDW SH-S182D SB03 (ATA)
Disks used - Phillips DVD+R/W and Verbatim DVD+R/W

Haven't used it for ages, but use Convertxtodvd 3 to convert and burn avi files to dvd.
Now, when l fire the program up, it recognises the disk and formats/initialises it, does the convert (2hrs) and writes it out. When l do an explore of the disk, there's nothing on it! Convertx also creates the Audio_TS and Video_TS files and l've tried burning these as well, but nothing is written onto the disk.
Tried out Neros dvd checker, and it says the disks are invalid.
Tried out ImgBurn and it says the disks are empty, erasable, and not formatted.
Checked with Microsoft and l have the latest drivers.
The drive plays CD'S and Videos with no problem, and also burns CD -R's with no problems.
I've heard that you may get a batch of blank dvd's that could be faulty, but l've got 45 Phillips dvd's and 25 Verbatim dvd's sitting here - Surely they all can't be duff!
I don't really know what else l can try.
Anyone have any ideas?

One thing l didn't try is to send a couple of suspect disks to a friend for them to try out, but that would take a couple of days.
Didn't realise about the read/write "laser" thingy. Interesting fact that.
Unless anyone else has any suggestions, for the sake of a couple of days, which is no problem,  l'll get the Phillips and Verbatim disks checked on another machine, but it looks like a new drive then!

I heard good things about a PROGRAM called Advanced System Care. Should I DOWNLOAD that as well or do I not need it? Which program is it similar too if I already have ONE that does the same thing.   Are the programs I have good enough?Anything suggested here is tried and true and should be ADEQUATE...
I can't remember anyone recommending ACS and i'd advise staying well clear of it based on what i've seen...

I have a no-name LAPTOP running WINDOWS XP, Home Edition, Version 2002, Service Pack 3 which is a legitimate version.
The PC information is as follows: AMD Turion(tm) 64 x2 Mobile Technology, 1.60 GHz.

I am simply trying to play avi files which I have played before and which play properly on other COMPUTERS. So there's nothing wrong with the files but I get a C00D11B1 error message when I try to play one of the files in Windows Media Player. The files simply won't play through Winamp, Real Player, etc. I have since installed the latest Windows Media Player but to no avail.

Apparently it's a sound card issue. However, having followed all the instructions on the error information page regarding doing checks in Device Manager, there appears to be nothing wrong with my sound card - it's functioning fine. The sound card is a Realtek High Definition Audio.

Anyone have any idea? It would be greatly appreciated.

Why can't I get into my Windows Security Center? 
It says,
The Security Center is currently unavailable because the "Security Center" has not started or was stopped.
I typed services.msc in run, located the security center. It was already set to automatic. When I clicked start, I got the message...
"Could not start the security center service on local computer.
Error 1068: The dependency service or group FAILED to start.   

How can I fix this?
I'm NEW here, and not COMPLETELY sure if this is where this should go.Who has been adjusting running services on this machine ? ?
Many are dependent on others being ENABLED to run properly so it could be a ton of possibilities...

the story goes like this:
i tried to install a game.
i installed the first CD
but when i was asked to insert the second CD
the computer didn't recognize it (or something) and the setup failed.
so after that, i erased manually  (probably shouldn't have) all the files (or so i thought) and tried again.
unfortunately, the setup gave an option of UNINSTALLING (instead of installing) and when i press it it says it uninstalled but it didn't CAUSE i still can't install!
and the same thing happens VIA "add or remove programs".
what do i do??

After installing the SP3 this morning for Windows XP my Excel is no longer working. It's strange though, because WORD, Outlook and front page are still accessible....but when I click on the Excel icon, it goes through a bunch of stuff saying  it's installing and then says it cannot locate PROPLUS.msi
I can access it by going C:\>Windows>repair>Software
and there I find it in a list and am able to access it. But why can't I access it from the usual place? I don't have my disk. But I'm guessing there must be some kind of way to repair it since my other Office things are working. Any ideas on where I can find this proplus.msi file? My kid tried to install an old XP version of Nero on our new COMPUTER with Vista. Now I can't run the program or uninstall the old Nero. Also, I tried installing a new version of Nero that's compatible with Vista, but it shuts down after a few seconds. No error message, it just closes the window and acts like I never even tried running it in the first place. I'd like to install the new Nero. I have a computer with Microsoft Windows XP Version 2002.  A week or so ago a downloaded a FREE trial of Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI.  I don't like it so I want to UNINSTALL it.  But if I do, will all of my pictures disappear? Currently, they are all listed as being Paint Shop Pro Photo XI Images, but they used to be under Paint.  When it's UNINSTALLED, will they REVERT back to being in Paint or something? If not, is there anything I can do to keep them?  No, you will not lose the images, and they should go back to opening with Paint.
If not, you can change them to open in whatever you like.

This is my first post to this site.  I searched the forum for my problem and found a few threads but none had any solutions.  What happens is, when I first boot my computer, my DVD and CD burner DRIVES will show up in explorer.  At some unkown point after that they stop showing up.  This is accompanied by a problem I am having installing a game (black and white 2) where it keeps saying that it is searching for files it cannot find while installing.  I don't know if that is related but thought I would throw it in there in case it is.  Here is some system info on my PC:

If not try this. Go to Control Panel/System/Hardware/Device Manager.
Right click both of the optical drives and select remove. You will get a warning...ignore it.

Upon re-boot Windows will automatically re-install the devices.

Let us Know.Thanks for the reply.  I do not use daemon tools.  The thing is, the drives always show up after reboot.  It is later that they dissapear.  However, I will try your suggestion and see what happens.

BTW, I forgot to mention, I use Norton Antivirus 2005 and Fix-It Utilities 5.

Ever since my own disc was stolen, I have recently aquired a .MDF of a 3.6GB game called UNREAL Tournament 2004. Problem is, I'd like to burn it, and Nero 7 does not support .mdf's.

I've Googled for a bit, and I downloaded MagicISO and was about to convert the .mdf to a .iso, but then I made an interesting discovery. In the .mdf file, there is 6 folders, called CD1, CD2, CD3, ect. Each could easily fit on an average CD. So, here's my question.

How do you burn one .iso to multiple CD's using Nero 7, or would I just be better off burning one DVD?From the Forum Rules :

I have just changed to sky broadband which works fine but ever since installing there software which has come with mcafee i can no longer OPEN any movie files that have previously worked, it opens then straight away closes it self . this happens if i double click on a movie icon or if i open WMP by its self and open a movie file from its file menu.

i 've looked around on mcafee but dont really know what i'm looking for , i ve ALSO reinstalled WMP and thats had no effect .

please help

pgc ...... When you say ... "cannot open any movie files" are you REFERING to files that you have stored on your machine or movie clip links that you click on ?
What is type of files are these... avi ...or something else?
Do you get any sort of error message ?
Will music files play ok ?

Which McAfee product are you using ?

Have you tried to uninstall McAfee and see if you can play those files ?

just been checking and the movies only say WMV and i tried to open an MP3 that i know worked before and all WMP does is open up momenterly and say "opening media" then 2-5 seconds later shuts down completely and return to what ever page i had open before hand .
i ve tryed turning all mcafee features off and playing them but that did nothing .
the mcafee version is 7.2
i ve just tryed opening a link that has been sent to me on my hotmail and WMP did the same thing

i ve checked for updates on WMP from the help menu and it says that none are available , im not sure were to look for the codecs or which ones i need (had a look with google and hundreds came up) are there any you think i could need

i managed to find my old copy of norton and got rid of mcafee and that has fixed the problem
there must be something on version 7.2  that is interferring with WMP

I was wondering if anyone here uses Windows STEADYSTATE ? If so how is it ? Is there any down SIDE of using it ?
ALSO I am intersted in using Windows Disk PROTECTION but at the same time I use MICROSOFT Money and so I was wondering if I would lose any changes that I make after I shutdown my computer ?

I'm running Windows XP and Internet EXPLORER browser. My computer is custom built. My question is why is my computer unable to instal directx 9?  At the end of the instalation I get an error
BADWINDOWSVERSION and it says its not compatible with my windows version. I have used directx 9 in the past, but now i am un-able. Does anyone KNOW why?

P.s. The game i am trying to run is battlefeild 2142, which is also SAYING i need an "un-modded" version of it. I have never modded any games so im confused by this. The game use to work before i installed the newest patch Please see here for the latest version of DirectX.
As for your BF2142 problem, just install the patch again. If that does not work, do the following.
Uninstall the game from Windows Add/Remove Programs.
Delete the folder from C:/Program Files/Electronic Arts/BF2142
And delete My Documents/BF2142
Do a search for BF2142 and delete all the folders you see.
Download CCleaner and use it to clean your system, as well as the registry with the Issues function (make a backup when prompted).
FINALLY, go to Start - Run - type regedit and press enter.
Search for BF2142 and delete all the KEYS you see.
Reboot and follow these steps again, there should be nothing left.
Then install the game again, and the patch.

I did what you said and both directx and Bf2142 were working
However when i reinstalled northen strike i can no longer join any games, still the "only non -modded version can join" so i think northen strike was what caused all the problem in the first place Install the patch again.
It's a known problem, you must first patch to 1.2 or later, then install NS, then install the patch again.
I had the same problem.

I have a question. I am using the Windows Version of Adobe Photoshop CS2.

I have downloaded several brushes, loaded them, and have BEGAN using them. However, after you have placed the brush PICTURE on your canvas [whatever that picture may be] is there any way to rotate the picture that has just shown up on your canvas, or does it simply stay the direction that the original brush is? I know you can MOVE it AROUND the canvas, but it doesn't rotate left or right, just moves around. If anyone knows the answer, please get back to me. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks muchly,

I have Windows XP on my Dell computer.  I use Hughes Net SATELLITE Internet service.

I RECENTLY downloaded their Hughes Net Tools progam because it allows to check for problems and provides other useful information.

However, this PROGRAM is apparently causing some kind of problem with my computer. I can't access the program, can't delete it from my computer, and now it takes multiple attempts to start my computer after it has been turned off. When I downloaded the program, my computer seemed liked it was in a continous download mode until I turned it off.

Now when I try to turn my computer on, I get to the Dell bluescreen with all my icons. However, I am unable to click on any of them as the computer is frozen.  When I move the cursor off screen, I see the hour glass.

I also will see a message that new programs have been installed near the start button.

The Hughes Net Tools icon appears in my start up tray, too.

Then I have to CONTROL alt delete to get to Task Manager and shut down the computer.  I may get two messages that go something like, "stntry" and "explr" not responding. Need to close or cancel which I do.  I have to do this multiple times before the computer will finally be usable.

When I try to delete the Hughes Net Tools progarm using the unintall feature by clicking on "change/remove",  I get a black screen with the file pathway coding listed on two lines.  Looks like an "exe" type file. There is no box for deleting this.  Then I click out of this and the original uninstall screen is locked and I have to exit by right clicking my mouse.

Can someone provide some guidance on how to remove this program from my computer since the "uninstall feature" does not appear to apply?
